We had an incredible dinner at Riviera! The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch. A special shout-out to Shiv, who looked after us brilliantly. The highlight of the night was definitely when Shiv prepared the tiramisu right in front of us at the table—it was a fantastic touch and tasted amazing. Highly recommend for a quiet, high-quality dining experience!

It was the best place i’ve ever been in London!! Services were soo good and especially Ash helped me alot with choosing menus!! Atmosphere in here was luxurious and warm. Foods were extremely delicious with good portions!

Celebrated my birthday at Riviera on Saturday. It was absolutely amazing! Our waitress Gayu was so lovely and her attention to detail was impeccable. She made the most amazing martini and she also made me feel really special. My seabass was delicious and myself and my guest loved this restaurant. Also to mention the decor is stunning!!! I highly recommend riviera!

We were served by Hamil for our dinner. He has excellent customer service, he checked up on us if everything was good. He also recommended us a few things to try as we have never been here before. Overall it was very lovely and the food was delicious.

The ambience was warm, elegant, and relaxed all at once. We were greeted by Olivia, who was genuinely fantastic from the moment we arrived. She was warm, attentive, and made us feel instantly at ease. Her professionalism combined with her friendly manner really added to the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was excellent and beautifully presented, full of flavour. Dishes were rich but balanced, and thoroughly enjoyable. If you are looking for an elegant and lavish spot that offers great value and service, this is your place.

Riviera in St James is gorgeous with true Côte d’Azur vibes. We had the three-course menu and every dish was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Attentive service and stunning atmosphere . Booking is a must!

We had such a wonderful evening at Riviera! Hakim took incredible care of us from start to finish and made the experience extra special. We ordered the lobster pasta, fillet steak, tenderstem broccoli, Caesar salad, and the cauliflower starter — everything was absolutely delicious. I was a little worried about the Caesar having too strong of an anchovy flavor, but Hakim reassured me it would be perfectly balanced, and he was right — it tasted amazing. The wine pairings he recommended were spot on and really elevated the meal. To top it all off, they surprised me with a complimentary chocolate mousse for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. The food, the service, and the atmosphere all exceeded expectations. Thank you, Hakim, for making it such a special evening — we’ll definitely be back!

Amazing Restaurant. This place is not only warm by itself but also because of its staff who are incredibly kind and present, always listening to our needs. We came from Paris for a weekend in London and it was really the cherry on the cake for this end of our stay. Thanks to Omar for his smile and his service sense. shiv was a great server! there was some troubles with the food but he made a new one quickly. and he was very gentle. every food was very yummy and fast served i recommend this restaurant

Everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish, beginning with the warm and welcoming reception. The restaurant offers a wonderfully elegant and refined atmosphere, while still feeling incredibly cosy and inviting. The food and service were truly sensational. A special personal thank you to the charming Hamil for the outstanding, attentive service, which made our evening even more memorable. We were celebrating our anniversary, and as a delightful surprise we were treated to a complimentary chocolate mousse, which was an absolutely wonderful gesture. I can wholeheartedly recommend Riviera.

The food was excellent and the service genuinely outstanding. Our server, W. Hamil, was exceptional… thoughtful recommendations, attentive without hovering, and made the evening feel effortless. Special mention for the apple tart tatin, which he recommended and which was absolutely superb. Would happily return.

Came in at a quiet hour- 4:30, but Paxci and the rest of the staff were gracious and accommodating in servicing us. She recommended amazing drinks, dessert, and made sure we had everything. Roasted cauliflower, seabass carpaccio and cod main were unique and flavourful dishes. Thank you Riviera for a wonderful experience, and a special thanks to the beautiful Paxci!

Impeccable service from the wonderful Gayu, the best food I’ve had in ages. I enjoyed the steak tartare so much I ordered two portions. The cocktails and drinks were five star. I highly recommend the tiramisu and pesto pasta. Riad was an amazing host and we will definitely be coming again. It’s also a very beautiful venue in an incredible location. An unforgettable evening. Everything from the food to the service was bang on. We ordered the lobster pasta and pesto pasta and the lobster pasta stole the show. It was DIVINE. Paxci and Omar took such good care of us and were lovely. Can’t wait to come back!

I dined here last night with a friend and had such a lovely time. The interior is beautiful, the staff were polite and attentive, and the food was honestly 10/10. They even surprised me with a delicious chocolate dessert for my birthday, which was such a nice touch. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it! :)

This is probably the best meal I can ever recall having, and that is saying a lot because I am from New Orleans, LA. From the burrata salad, to the tuna tartare, to the roasted chicken, the meal was superb. And the chocolate mouse dessert to celebrate my birthday was over the top. We will be back in two weeks to try out more dishes.

We had a great time at Riviera for our anniversary, the decoration is really warm airy and bright. The music was on point, not too loud, and our waitress Gayu was super friendly. the lunch menu more affordable than the a la carte menu but flavours are really nice.

The food is excellent to me especially the tiramisu which is out of my expectations. For the waitress -Ash, she is very attentive and cheerful. Will visit again soon

Nothing felt rushed or average everything felt intentional. What stood out to me the most was the service. The staff were so attentive and welcoming without hovering. They made me feel comfortable and taken care of the whole evening, which really made a difference. Overall, it wasn’t just dinner it was an experience. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels classy, vibrant, and worth the money, Riviera is definitely a place I’d recommend. I’ll 100% be coming back. 🥰

Riviera is undeniably a beautiful restaurant, especially if you’re looking for a quiet, intimate spot for a date. The ambience is one of its strongest points. Soft, low lighting and a calm atmosphere make it feel refined and relaxed, and the dining room has a lovely elegance to it. Food-wise, there were definite highlights. The starters were all genuinely delicious and well executed, setting a strong tone at the beginning of the meal. The pasta was also very good, with great texture and flavour, and the turbot was cooked well, delicate and properly handled, which isn’t always easy to get right. That said, the overall experience was let down by the service. For a restaurant at this price point, service felt surprisingly cold and almost absent. No one introduced the menu, walked us through the dishes, or offered any guidance on drinks. We were largely left to figure everything out ourselves, which made the experience feel transactional rather than hospitable. It wasn’t rude, just noticeably disengaged. Riviera is fairly expensive, and while the food quality largely delivers, the lack of warmth and attentiveness in service creates a disconnect. With more thoughtful, proactive service, this could be a standout dining experience. As it stands, it’s a lovely setting with strong food, but service that doesn’t quite match the ambition of the restaurant.

Follow on instagram @best_restaurantsldn for more! We had a lovely time at Riviera next to green park. As you walk in an elevator takes you up to the restaurant where you are seated. This was a truely relaxing experience, there was lots of space between the tables, the restaurant was quiet so you could catch up with friends and a romantic place for a date night. The bar was beautifully lit up and a great central point of the restaurant. Gayu was our waitress- she was friendly and attended to all our needs, providing great service. We ordered- 1. Veal Ragu Rigatoni 2. Parmesan Wheel Bucatini 3. Tuna & Avocado Tartar I think they were trying to be creative with the tuna tartar by putting it inside an avocado but it was a bit disappointing overall.

The food and service were exemplary, do not be put off by the slightly dated decor… everything compensates, especially the service from Gayu and Riadh. Every dish was exceptional. Particularly the chicken tahini, the turbot and the tarte tartin. Would definitely return (which I did not think imaginable when we arrived).

We decided to visit London to do some Christmas shopping and try some great restaurants while we are here. Riviera was scheduled for Tuesday night after we see Phantom of the opera and we booked a table for 10.45pm, but we were informed the day before that the kitchen closes at 9pm, so we had to choose an alternative venue. See my other reviews for that review… So, without booking we decided to chance our luck on a Monday evening as my better half had seen the pictures of the calamari and octopus and really wanted to try them. Riviera is a French restaurant, so when in France, I opted for the snails as a starter and she had the calamari. Both were nice, but I was a bit underwhelmed by them both to be honest. There were 5 tiny snails drenched in butter and the calamari was just okay. For the main course I opted for the Beef Fillet cafe de park butter. It is a bit pricy @ £52 but the steak was beautiful. My beautiful other half ordered the Charcoal Grilled Chicken and Tahini sauce. This also tasted and looked great and was priced @ £35. We had the obligatory French fries and a gem salad to accompany the meal , just one of each to share and that was enough. After the starters and bread we struggled to finish our main courses, so no desert for me :( I wanted to see if the had crème brûlée or tart au citron. What French restaurant doesn’t? lol We had a mocktail and a Cocktail each the first round and then two of the same cocktail for round two. We also had a bottle of still water for the table. The service was discreet, efficient and attentive and the overall atmosphere was enjoyable. Unfortunately we were seated next to a table of loud and obnoxious young Americans/British people that used more expletives than proper English, but that couldn’t spoil our evening. It was a beautiful restaurant and the food was good. If you would like a great venue for a date, an after work meal or even if you are just visiting the capital, then I recommend The Riviera.

We had a fine experience in this restaurant. The food is amazing Decoration is beautiful and music is so good. However the service is really poor. The staff didn’t know the basics of serving and we had to call them for ordering or asking for desert menu. But as I said the food is fantastic.

The staff are absolutely amazing very kind and attentive and the atmosphere is genuinely beautiful. If you’re looking for a nice setting to sit, talk, and enjoy the ambience with friends, it can be a pleasant choice. However, the food quality did not quite meet our expectations. The menu is limited in terms of cocktails, and we didn’t find any dish that truly stood out as a “signature” plate. Between the options, we would recommend pasta over seafood. This is more of a place to visit for the environment rather than for an exceptional dining experience. If you’re very hungry and looking for outstanding food, this may not be the right address. One point that was a bit disappointing: although the venue officially closes at 11:30 pm and the restaurant was almost empty, the bill was brought to our table at 10:15 pm, which made us feel slightly rushed. Overall, great staff and a nice atmosphere, but room for improvement when it comes to food and guest experience.

Stunning restaurant. Food was delicious but service and cleanliness could be better. The rims of the wine glasses we were given were dirty with previous diner's lip marks.

The promise of a decent meal with the expectations of the location (plus astonishing Google reviews) were quickly diminished shortly after arrival. How this place got 4.8 stars is beyond me. Despite being very, very quiet, finding our name on the reservations, was the first hurdle. While we waited in the foyer for someone to find our name we were impressed by the cool, almost middle eastern feel, of this classic french restaurant...?!? We ascended the escalator, a nice touch, to wander by the open kitchen, which honestly looked tired and totally out of place with the ambience of the rest of the restaurant, and we made our way to our table opposite the large, magnificent, bar. The menu looked, Good! The Cocktail list looked, Good! The wine list looked, Good and it was pretty much empty so we were comfy and ready to dine. The price is on the more expensive side, so choose wisely. The menu is descriptive but not accurate. Tuna and Avocado tartar, really means tuna with basil mayo in an old empty avocado skin, zero actual avocado in the dish itself. You might want to sample some wine, think again. Unless they do it by the glass you can't try any of it....honestly! Also, just double check they even have the wine you want, they won't tell you ahead of time but let you peruse and then let you down when you decide. Cocktails were ok, but mainly sticky, syrupy and definitely not as good as the menu would have you believe. Bewarned, if you order a recommended dish, and you happen to spy your neighbour ordering it also, just try not to compare dishes, you will only be left with a "why does mine look like an anaemic piece of flesh? and my neighbours a nicely seared, caramelised and pleasantly cooked version of the same dish!!?" - This was the beef fillet in the pics btw.....! Tasteless and such a let down. Not even a hint of caramelisation. The salad had us in stiches! The Foie gras was ok, on a saturated fried piece of brioche, but the chocolate dessert was excellent, however...... Disappointment after disappointment ensued, and not to be too harsh but the service was just ok. This place is confused. We were confused. The staff seemed confused. Between the strange kitchenette that could be from the back streets of Bangkok (move the wonky light and remove the fluorescent lighting) and the magnificent bar delivering half the drinks you want, you're stuck in the middle with over-priced food and a promise that can't be met. We joked, this was the fastest meal we have ever had - Could not wait to move on with our evening. Would I come here again, absolutely not, would I recommend? No! But see what you think.
