Opinions de Kamal Palace Long Beach
Huny Buny was getting hangry, because we tried ordering from some other place - and it never showed up! So we took a chance, and rolled the dice, and went to Kamal Place to sit down, and boy are we glad that we did... Because it was way better than the other place that we had been ordering from, and WAY better than we expected... she had the chicken, which was perfect and tender to the fork.. I had the lamb - INSANELY delicious... and a super great atmosphere..totally cool guys who love their restaurant..THIS is the place for us, for the most right on, authentic Indian food in, and around Long Beach, from now on! THANKS GUYS!!!
Great Indian food! The servers are excellent! Atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. Affordable and there is plenty of easy parking.
Best Chicken Tikka Masala I've ever tasted. Very nice wine selections, variety of authentic Indian dishes and wonderful service. Discounts at lunch too!
I went to see the newly remodeled setup and it's great! I stayed for the all-you-can-eat buffet and waddled out of there full and happy!
Food was delicious, and service was amazing. It seemed like it was family owned and the employees were very nice and made sure we had a great experience. Definitely would recommend the lamb Malai!
Coming from a Punjabi/Pakistani, when I tell you this is the real deal, you can trust it. Just moved from Florida and it's SO nice to know we have a local favorite now. Amazing Indian, Sunday buffet! Our top favorites so far: Lamb Korma, chili chicken, veg biryani, Saag(mustard greens), mango Lassi, carrots halwa, fresh ghulab jaman.
My favorite restaurant in the city of Long Beach! The owners are amazing and cater to making every customer feel special and welcome. The food is outstanding but make sure you know what you're ordering and make it clear whether you want mild medium or hot because food can be very spicy but delicious! I recommend it highly
Butter chicken, garlic naan and cheese naan were absolutely delicious I enjoyed it so much. The restaurant had friendly staff and excellent service. I recommend eating here it’s fantastic. I will come again.
Our meals were great! We had the chicken tikka and a shrimp vindaloo. We did ask the server for suggestions and he nailed it! The room had a buffet but we wanted to order off the menu. A family business that is very traditional. Next time we are in the area we plan on stopping by for a bite to eat. Thanks
Beautiful place, most authentic Indian food that I’ve had in America, and it really is a special place, the servers have strong accents but they’re very friendly and helpful, the Mango Lassi from here is the best that I have had in America.
This is a great date restaurant. Theres plenty to do afterwards with the marina, bookstore and theatre nearby. I'm big on spicy food and have a very high tolerance but if you order spicy here than be prepared to choke on fire. It was unbearably hot, they really mean it here! Always order medium!
Hands down best Indian food I've ever had.... I have loved coming here for almost 20 years. The palak paneer, lamb curry(karahi gohst), mushroom bhaji and chicken tikka masala are phenomenal!! Be warned, spicy is their thing so if you don't say mild, you will get medium which is spicy and if you say spicy, you will end up in the ER lol The service is always courteous and kind. The owners and their managers over the years have always remembered the regulars and come to say hi, maybe send you a little sweet treat at the end. Very appreciative of repeat business and know how to take care of guests. Food comes hot, fresh, in a timely manner and all together. Mint chutney and mango chutney always on the table and probably the best I've ever had, especially the mint chutney! The sweet naan is to die!! And their Indian milk tea is my favorite, always delicious. A little challenging to find as it's on the backside of the complex in the parking lot facing the marina. If you park in front of the Sit n Sleep you'll be closest. It is worth the drive which I now make all the way from the LA area... worth it!!
First time eating here and wow! I seriously didn't know this place existed because it's hidden away but it's a true hidden gem. We came with a large party and tried so many plates, NOTHING disappointed.
We came, we ate, and then we digested. I like the atmosphere of this place. Somewhat like a cafeteria or a banquet hall kind of mixed together. Overall I'm not certain that the look was opulent more than just tidy and clean like a hospital would be. And the boy who helped service the table was exceptionally good looking and will likely be a hit with the ladies when the time comes. Youth is so complex a scenario to be in...so confident and certain of their thoughts and ideas...only they will turn out to be wrong if he was neglected as a youth...like I was. His future seems bright, and mine seems unpleasant and lonely. But really this restaurant is great please come and give it a shot and even has seaside seating which is kind of neat if you can actually find it nowadays. In this case the food rocks and the scenery rolls...
We went yesterday first time to get take out food from Kamal Palace. Since we traveled a couple of times to India and have many friends from India we had high expectations... We had the paneer masala, the veggy combo plate and the chicken seekh kebab...as well as the assorted appetizer. Wow, what a great meal! Food quality and taste was amazing. The spice level was perfect, as we ordered medium spicy. The samosas and the kebab was excellent as well as their masala sauce! Very happy to have found this place!!! Compliments to the chef!
This place is a hidden gem. When we lived in Long Beach we kept it a secret. We moved and came back to visit and it is the Indian GOURMET bomb!!! Suggestions would be the Mushroom Masala and the Chicken Tikka Masala. Try the pilau (so?) rice. Oh my!!!
I highly recommend this place. I haven't had much Indian food, but I've been back twice. Very impressed with the service as they helped explain to me the different types of food. If you like spicey you will love Kamal.
We just ordered take out right before closing. Chicken Tikka masala, chicken korma, and chicken briani. Incredibly tasty!!! My dad visiting from the Netherlands went nuts since he never had Indian before hahaha - what I love about Kamal palace most is obviously the taste but you can tell they use quality ingredients. Like you are at Grandma's home and you always feel satisfied after.
One of the best Indian cuisine around souther cali area. All the staff is friendly. The food is delicious. It may be on the expensive side but it is well worth the dollars. Especially if you are dining in, the staff is polite and on top of their game making sure you are always tended to, regardless if it is busy. I try to come here once a week.
OMG!! our 1st time eating Indian food and we ordered the Chicken Madras and Karahi Gosht and the dishes were so so good!! the white rice was cooked perfect. we loved it. Next time we will come in to eat dinner for sure. The dishes were perfect!!! compliments to the chef
I love this place. I have been coming here for almost 20 yrs. I have visited other restaurants in Little India in Artesia, San Diego and have been to India, and Kamal’s Palace has great food. Of all the places I have tried it is one of the few that does not give me heartburn. I hope this helps! Blessings
I started coming here about 12 years ago. It was always good quality food with good service at a fair price....and a convenient location. For about 9 years I didn't visit the west coast at all. When I returned to Long Beach earlier this year, Kamal Palace was one of my first stops! I was NOT disappointed! It is very rare to find a restaurant that maintains its quality of food for so many years!
First time we went We ordered chicken tikka masala, garlic naan , assorted appetizers Everything delicious ! Will definitely come back and highly recommend Also if you like spicy get medium or hot 🥵 the mild has zero kick to it , my baby ate some and he loved it We spent around 40 for one entry , garlic naan , tea and appetizers , enough for two with leftovers
We've eaten here a few times when visiting the Seal Beach area, but this was our first time eating on their small outdoor patio. It was very nice. Sometimes when eating inside, the smell of hot peppers can be a bit overwhelming. The food however is always delicious. One of the few Indian restaurants in the greater Los Angeles area in which the Saag is excellent. Spice levels are dead on, if you ask for it spicy you will get it spicy.
Aww, guilt free menu with lots of healthy options. I’d go here every day if possible. I absolutely loved my dining experience. Thanks Kamal Palace.
This is the first Indian restaurant I'd ever been to and I was completely satisfied by the quality of the food here. The lentil soup was perfect, the chicken curry had a slightly sweet and delicious taste to it, the naan bread was fluffy and the kulfi was also very good. The place itself is a bit hidden from the parking lot, so keep an eye out for signs. The servers were very kind and helpful and the food didn't take long to get to the table. I'd definitely recommend this place.
Nice, authentic Indian place with a view over the Naples canals. Go for the lunch buffet for a true experience of a satisfying variety of dishes. Everything was delicious: saag, lamb curry, biriyani rice, fresh naan brought to the table... the Tandoori chicken not at all dried out near the end of the buffet period. My lunch companion, originally from India, has been going there since the 90s.
Great food. Used to go for the buffet but with the way things are right now that is no longer an option. Opted for takeout and food is still great. We'll seasoned, good sized portions, and the right amount of spicy. Definitely top Indian spot in the area. Hope the buffet returns as it was an excellent lunch option.
Adding to this in Nov 2020. We love KP and their staff. We go far across town to get it. Todya they happily delivered. Thanks and keep going! 2016. There are two Indian restaurants in Long Beach, this is one. The food/ service is great. If you like true Indian on both fronts, be confident to come for a top result.
I experience good customer service from hello at the front door throughout the night. I order the Vegetable Malai. The coconut cream tastes so good by itself, mixing with the vegetables and rice, altogether, even better. I request the spiciest sauce on the side and have the meal at a medium spice level. I find adding a drop or so of the spiciest sauce into the meal for a few bites makes the meal much tastier, more flavorful than just hot. I eat about half my meal before needing to go boxes, a very filling meal worth the price, to me, when it comes to eating out. If you're looking for Vegan options, let whoever is helping you know, because there are about seven options the restaurant can Veganize, if you will. Kamal Palace is a quaint restaurant by the water.
Absolutely incredible experience! This riverfront view Kamal Palace is a hidden gem. The view from the outdoor seating area is peaceful and refreshing — perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. Inside, the dine-in space is clean, welcoming, and has a warm ambiance. But what truly makes this place stand out is the food and the people. The buffet was outstanding , every dish was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. From the fragrant biryanis to the perfectly spiced curries and fresh naan, everything was delicious and well-stocked. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel like part of their family. They were attentive, kind, and genuinely cared about our comfort and satisfaction. You can tell they take pride in what they do and want every guest to feel at home. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great Indian food in a beautiful setting with the kindest service you’ll find anywhere!
This is the best Indian buffet I’ve been to. Our family has been coming here for over twenty years. Their food is fantastic, their service is impeccable, and they’ve even remodeled recently. Their servers and manager are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
This is already the second time we’ve been here. It is the first thing that comes to when we came to Long Beach. This restaurant is literally the best I’ve been to in my life. Great atmosphere, food, and service. The people here help costumers as their family and are kind and compassionate. They even gave us a discount on our food because we didn’t eat as much as in our buffet. The mutton and chicken items are one of the best I have tried, it even reminds me of my mother’s. The veg items are equally as good. The restaurant itself is in a great location with great tranquility. They keep the food and the restaurant very clean with a great out outdoor seating. Definitely come with family. We will always remember this restaurant! Will come again soon
Great place to eat authentic Indian food. Will definitely go back again.
I have been a patron of KP for over 25 years now and I have always enjoyed coming here either for the lunch buffet or an evening dinner coupled with a movie and visit to B&N. The food has always been delicious, prices reasonable, and service polite, efficient, and warm. The general manager-owner, Anil (sp?), always drops by my table to greet me and my party with a welcoming smile. Even after the CV pandemic and a brief restaurant remodeling, KP is still serving wonderfully delicious foods at reasonable prices. I now often stop by with friends for the lunch buffet. Love the vegetarian dishes....my favorite is Malai Kofta :o)
We struggle finding good Indian food options as we can be quite particular. This is a solid option for us close to home. As an added bonus is they have a buffet option which has disappeared in most restaurants during the pandemic and has never reappeared. All and all the restaurant is a good option and I would recommend it.
I would highly recommend buffet. Very good food, wide variety of dishes, and excellent pricing.
Always good food here. It takes about one hour to get your food but it's always delicious
We used to come here when we lived in Long Beach way before pandemic. Haven't visited for many years... This is one of very few Indian restaurants that still serve lunch buffet post pandemic. Everything was delicious! Fairly reasonable price considering everything has gone up so much in recent years. We enjoyed it and will go back again for sure.
Great experience at Kamal Palace! The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. Kushal was especially attentive and professional—it really made the visit memorable. Will definitely be coming back!
Flavorful and rich, we ordered many dishes to share. They have some northern Indian dishes that are hard to find so we will be back to try more of these specialties as these were new to me. The tofu masala, aloo gobi were delicious and comforting on a cold and cloudy day. I am still thinking about the textures in every bite of potato stuffed naan! I can’t wait for another meal at Kamal Palace
Delicious food, both naans and curries were amazing. We ordered medium but felt it was slightly to the spicier end. Enjoyable experience.
Loved their food! Ordered it for take-out, still hot, delivered nicely packaged and the food is high quality. Best tikka masala and samosas. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Delicious food, great service and a beautiful view of the marina from the patio. Kamal Palace is my favorite Indian buffet. I am vegetarian, and they have a great selection (but there's plenty of meat, too, for my carnivorous friends). The interior could use some work, but it's OK. I always sit on the patio. :)
discovered this place while killing time before our movie date. everything is freshly cooked to spicy perfection. have been back twice now. my new favorite date night spot
We got take out, and they were kind enough to offer us water while we waited for our massive order! Everyone was so friendly. The restaurant is clean and well dressed, with an elegant vibe. They even have outdoor seating. Our food was hot, fresh, and well prepared. Get the mango lassi AND the vegetable pakoras. Go hungry, their portions are large, and if you don't have any Naan you're robbing yourself.
We took two friends to the lunch buffet. The food and variety were excellent. Service for a buffet was also good - the service personnel kept a careful eye on our table and removed dishes and refilled drinks on a regular basis. I was impressed. We will return.
Absolutely love this place. One of my new favorite spots for genuine Indian food. Started with 3pc samosas which were nice and crispy on the outside and full of flavor. We ordered the Indian Special and Non Veg special and I gotta say we got more than we bargained for. Each special could of easily been shared by two people. I love that they make your food to your desired spice level, mild, medium, and HOT. I like spicy food and this was great, spicy but full of flavor. The mango lassi was great, thick mango juice. The chai was perfect, home made genuine taste. The naan was nice and toasty but still soft in the inside. The older gentleman with glasses had amazing service. Will definitely be returning to try the buffet another day.
This was pure Indian buffet magic, I am a traveled buffet eater and let me tell youuuu, thee flavor s...listen here* EPIC! Don't miss out on this experience! Hallelujahhhh lordie lord! I feel like dancing!
AMAZING. The food, the ambience, the service, the value. I've been wanting to come here ever since I saw it and I'm so glad we did. They have a buffet but only from 11am - 2:30pm. The spices, the flavor, the portions! Exceptional. I can't remember the last time I truly enjoyed a restaurant meal.
Considering the quality of the food, this is a proper diamond in the buffet rough for $17. Highly recommend if you're a fan of Indian cuisine. The flavors are very modestly muted for the American palette but is still packed full of spices and seasoned accordingly. Bonus for the waterfront seating that's available and the garlic naan they give at the beginning too.
I recently visited Kamal Palace Restaurant and had a fantastic experience! We went for the buffet, and it was absolutely amazing — a great variety of delicious dishes, all fresh and full of flavor. The appetizers were a standout too — the pakoras were crispy and perfectly spiced, and the momos were juicy and flavorful. The service was warm and welcoming, and the overall ambiance made it a comfortable place to enjoy a great meal. Whether you’re looking for a casual buffet or tasty appetizers to share, Kamal Palace delivers. Definitely recommend checking it out!
This is an excellent place for a lunch buffet. For about 17$, the food was so good. Flavors were perfect. The spicy chicken was sooo good.. Service was friendly and appropriately attentive. Bathroom was clean. If you are in south Long Beach /north OC, and are craving Indian food, this is the place to go! The outside seating area has a great view of the water.
Buffet great deal though no Tikka Masala on day we went. Best Naan we've had in a while. Tandoori Chicken was superb. Enough offerings to satisfy including tasty Daal and samosas. A regular spot for us.
The place is a experience, clean, spacious and inviting with a great host at the door. Me and my family arrived and we’re immediately seated and we’re offered water while we decided our choices, the menu was extensive and held many enticing dishes. I settled on Karahi Paneer which was rich and filling, the samosas delicious, my brother had the bbq grill plate which so good and the lamb curry here flavorful. Overall a great meal shared around with a attentive host, will come here again.
Came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated by the window with a view of the boats in the marina. The location is nice! It's an all you can eat buffet for just under $11. The food was so delicious and we loved the way they seasoned their food with just the right amount of spiciness. Plenty of options for vegetarians. There was chicken dishes there, rice, daal, samosas, spinach, desserts, salad, and many more dishes. They also give you hot fresh naan. I will definitely come back!
This place is on PCH and a LITTLE hard to find. You can park by the AMC and walk down to find it. They had a very nice outdoor patio, super cozy and next to the water. The service was very good and they made sure that we always had a full glass etc. The curry was supperr delicious. At first, I thought the servings would not be enough… but it was ! We took home leftovers and they even gave us extra rice to take home! I would totally come again, and I heard they have a buffet? I would be down to try it again !
Really enjoyed dinner here. Thankfully, there are combination-type dinners on the menu if you just cannot decide what you want (like me). For example, you want some tikka masala, but you also want the tandoori chicken, maybe the channa masala too, so you can get some of what you want together without ordering 3 different meals. And of course, the available beers went well with the enormous amount of food we ordered. This is the first I had sweet naan and it was delicious. Also, I liked the service. It was fast and the servers were cool.
This is hands down the best Indian restaurant we’ve been to in the area. We ended up ordering more food to take home because we wanted more than just our left overs😅 plenty of vegetarian options and plenty of non-veggie options too, overall just amazing💗💗 price was just right as the food was fantastic. Overheard this spot was family owned as well and we love tight knit restaurants. ☺️
The atmosphere was great and the Gulab Jamuns definitely hit!

Great lunch buffet. I've been eating here since it first opened and I highly recommend it. Not very comfortable for wheelchair and handicapped individuals. It's a bit awkward and troublesome to get from buffet trays back to your table or if you decide to eat outside by the water, which is a shame.
We went for their Lunch Buffet and had a great meal. It was $18 each, which is a good price anymore. The restaurant was more than half full on a Saturday, the waiters were very friendly and pleasant, and the buffet selection was excellent. My husband went back 3 times, and I twice. We sat in their outdoor space with a lovely view over water.
Omg ! This an amazing place to eat. It's worth every penny. Lunch price is til' 2:30 pm. So much to choose from. It is an all you can eat buffet. You also get a basket of Naan bread. The staff are very welcoming and done rush you. I will be back in a few days to bring my sister and nephew.

Ambience: 3/5 Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Finally some different food taste. Real Indian spice flavor. The service was pretty quick & staff was courteous. Food was really amazing. We ordered Paneer Tikka (must order item), Fish pakoras, Malai Kofta, Chicken Tikka Masala (Chicken was bit hard) & garlic naans. Plenty of seating space as well as parking spots. The entrance is hidden so you have to go down the stairs (right on front of Pier1 Imports). Go left and then take first right and another right. Sign boards are marked with directions to the restaurant.
Saturday lunch buffet is fantastic! It isn't super large, but I tried all but one dish and they are excellent. I think my water was filled 10+ times usually before it was even half empty. Highly recommend visiting.
I love Indian food!!!i Have to get my fix!! Always ready, Kamal Palace is a very good and satisfied my need for some curry. They have an extensive menu with full dinners and sides. I go for mild , but would like to work up to medium when I grow up. I loved the pakoras and naan , the tomato soup was nice n spicy!! I liked the location in long beach , with Los Al bay flowing by the patio. They had a large crowd and were efficient with the service. There is also a buffet. Outside dining and comy inferior . Just writing this is making me hungry.....again ! It's perfect for Vegetairians like me.
Solid option for Indian buffet. I liked the hot fresh from the tandoor Naan. The variety of meats and vegetables was good as well. Dessert was not so great. Over all, a good buffet for the price point. The place can be a little challenging to find.
This place has the Indian food buffet down to a fine art. Some great tasting options and great service. It's a little tricky to find on your first visit, but well worth the effort. Price is right at about 10 bucks a head for all you can eat lunch! The garlic naan (or regular) is really good and included .
I have tried several Indian Cuisine nearby area, but this is so far the best! The quality and quantity of food is perfect. Also the service and ambiance is awesome. We have ordered one Chicken Biriyani, that tastes superb and the quantity is sufficient for two adults. Definitely will go back again.
Great buffet at a good price. The food is always yummy, yet there's not a lot of offerings. That's the only problem I have. I wish they had a few more options or regular items you could count on being on the buffet. I still find something delicious no matter what, even if it's not what I was hoping for. Service isn't always the best, but it's not bad either. Can be slow with the naan and drinks at times, but they're never rude. I've only ate here for the buffet, the regular menu prices are a bit high in my opinion.
Went to Kamal Palace several times, I find it to be very good. I ordered a chicken korma and chicken madras. The waiters are very attentive and friendly, quick to refill water/beverages. If you ask for mild food they fulfill such wishes. I like it!
I love the goat curry, korma and chicken makhani. We often go here for lunch from work. It is a good buffet, if a bit pricey. They regularly run short of korma (deep fried veggies). Too bad Long Beach has so few South Asian restaurants, some competition could take Kamal Palace from good to great.
First time here, haven't really had Indian food too much in my life but I really enjoyed the food. It's a odyssey to go from the parking lot to this place. The interior is very nice, incredibly spacious. Good for a date. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Both were very exceptional. The chicken was moist and it was very flavorful, I didn't grow tired of the taste even if that was the only thing. we ordered. The garlic naan was super bomb, it was made to order, baked fresh. Probably the best I ever had. The tikka masala also comes with rice, but it was easy to get tired of. The waiters were attentive, my water got awkwardly refilled like 5 times within 20 minutes even when I didn't drink too much, but hey at least someone is filling it up. Overall the food was pretty good, I definitely recommend getting two garlic naan's next time. You can't ever go wrong with the tikka masala either and for someone who doesn't usually like Indian food, I highly recommend this on the list.
Authentic Indian, as spicy as you want it! Good service, generous servings, lots of leftovers taken home. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, but so yummy.
Of course, the food is very good. My concern is the young children allowed to go to the buffet without a parent. A sign needs to be posted that children under age 10 must be accompanied by a parent. On May 11, 2024, one child was taking what he wanted out of the Samosa bin with his hands, without using utensils. Another child put his fingers in his mouth, dipped them into the rice pudding bin, then put his fingers in his mouth again. The parents all along, sitting at the table, looking at the children, and not saying a word to them. This type of thing is why buffets were closed down so long during and after Covid.
I have visited this place several times and have loved the food there. I decided it was time I give back to the community with a short review. First, let me talk about the ambience. The interior of this restaurant is great and cozy. The seating is well spread out so you are never in another person's face. Also the tables are big enough to accommodate the several platers of dishes you will probably order. Second, the food is delicious. I have tried both their Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian dishes on several occasions and they haven't disappointed yet. It's so good that I order more so that there would be leftovers to keep me sated the next day. Finally, service is ok, not good but not bad either. On one occasion, we had to wait for almost 30-40minutes for our order to arrive. Just for the service, I remove one star. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this place if you are not in a hurry and crave for really delicious Indian food.
The go to Indian restaurant for lunch buffet. The price is very reasonable and the food is good. They have a lamb dish, chicken tikka and butter chicken and several vegetable dishes. The paneer is fresh and warm, a perfect pairing with the food. Also they have a very nice view of the harbor if you are planning on relaxing your eyes.
We’ve been meaning to try Kamal Palace for a long time and finally ordered delivery through Uber Eats. We got the Chana masala, mutter paneer, and bhindi masala—everything was flavorful, came with rice, and paired perfectly with some roti we heated at home. The spice level (we ordered mild) was spot on—perfect for enjoying the flavors without being overwhelmed, and easy to add extra heat at home if you want. It honestly reminded us of home-style cooking, which was comforting. The only downside was the oiliness—if the dishes were made with less oil, this could easily become our go-to Indian spot in Long Beach. Overall, really good food and definitely worth ordering again.
Location is a little wierd to find (downstairs in the back) but worth the walk. The patio is of course a great outdoor setting but the dining room has its own attraction. The food was a mix for me. I usually start at the lowest level of heat at any new Indian restaurant, but this one was a little low even so. Still with maybe a medium heat this meal would have be great. I always suggest trying 2 of your staples and then something unique from the menu. I am normally pleasantly surprised. Really looking forward to the brunch reopening but until then I have a few dishes I would like to try. Cost is a little high for the amount so sampling is costly. Still we were not able to finish everything and enjoyed what we had. One other thing, the naan was not what I am used to. Not bad , just not the same as other versions I've had. Now to head there for dinner and see how that changes the experience.

Super clean, plenty of parking, typical Indian dish...... the food taste great but very poor customer service. We have to raise our hands for 4 minutes to get attention for water and Nan bread. FIRST time ever I got stomach sick for Indian Food and trust me I ate 2 to 3 day a week. I love Indian food. I believe I ate yesterday left over since Indian don't trash food. I burped for 2 days consecutive which never happened. For this reason I won't be in Kamal restaurant again.
After eating here almost once a month for the past year, quality has diminished significantly. Quality, order accuracy, and service. I tip well, minimum 20% for done in and take out orders. Most of my orders are $40-130. But my orders contain less flavor, incorrect spiciness applied to the wrong dishes (very hot 10 on a mild 3 vice versa). Biryni used to contain good motions of meat but I now find 3-5 chicken nugget sized pieces (literal McDonald sized nuggets). Flavor is no longer as deep as it used to be either. Staff who used to be so friendly act as if they are inconvenienced now in person or on the phone. Stuck it out for a few months hoping it would pass, but it's steadily declined. For the cost per dish, there are incredible restaurants a few more minutes up the road in Artesia with dozens to choose from. Shame, this place was good.
Weekend lunch buffet was affordable, but the offerings were a little lack-luster. Food was okay, but what was concerning was the chicken in the butter chicken was severely undercooked!

This restaurant/owner deserves no stars, zero, zilch. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to try this restaurant, we arrived at 930pm and were denied service by owner. He said it was too late to prepare food and that we would not take 30 min to eat. We were descriminated by an Indian or Pakistani or at minimum were victims of an arbitrary decision by owner. We mentioned politely that he should at least advertise the latest time one should arrive to dine. He didn't care and continued eating. I'm filing a civil rights complaint and reporting him to bbb
Sorry to say this! I ordered 2 Chicken Dumpling and Chicken Biriyani! I never eaten such a horrible tasted Dumpling! It tasted like samosa stuffing inside momo wrap. Initially we thought it was veg and later point of time, I saw some chicken piece then we beleive it is chicken dumpling, by the taste u cannot identify. The dipping which was given was just spicy but again no taste! We threw the 2nd Plate of Dumpling. Chicken Biriyani tasted like the rice and chicken were cooked separate and then mixed. The spicy level was as we asked. Since our order was @ Closing time, we thought the Veg Biriyani (has peas in it) was mixed with chicken! If you see the pic of these 2 dishes, they were very appealing but the taste does not match that!
If you ever get food it's pretty good. Waiting an hour and a half no food. Denied that others in restaurant served ahead of us saying they ordered before they came. Have you ever heard of ordering your food before you arrive to the restaurant in order to get served seated, at a decent time??? I doubt I would return, no matter how good. That is probably why there are tables and tables of to go orders flying out of the kitchen.
Normally would not post a review without actually eating the food, but in this case I felt it would be good to highlight our experience with respect to service so the restaurant can have the opportunity to improve. We arrived an hour prior to our movie at 7 at the Marina Pacifica AMC. It was Valentine’s Day, but the restaurant was only 3/4 full. The patrons who had their food appeared to be enjoying it and the food looked and smelled lovely. We were immediately sat down at a table and provided menus and water. We quickly selected our food and waited patiently for a server to arrive. Our menus were down, our waters were regularly filled, but no server came to take our order it had been more than 10 minutes. Finally, I flagged down a bus boy and let him know that we were ready to order. The server arrived five minutes later. My wife is Vegan, and had selected a dish which was marked “Vegan preparation upon request”. After the server took the order he said he would need to check if the kitchen could prepare the dish as requested and disappeared. Another 30 minutes went by, no starters, no status on the food, and water servicing stopped even though they would pass our table with water. Our glasses were empty. Finally, I flagged down the server and asked when our food would be ready. He stated that they had not started cooking our food yet and it was due to the Vegan preparation request. He added that it was busy and that the Vegan order is why they had not started. At that point, a bit gutted, we cancelled our order and headed to the movie. Good food ensures the satisfaction of the customer; however, bad service tends to ruin the meal.
Food is too sweet no flavor at all. We are 3 people fine-in for buffet every dish is lacking spices. But the restaurant was clean and neat. Food should be improved a lot.
