Absolutely delicious Filipino food. I highly recommend their take on Sisig. The portions are huge too.

Tasty pork sisig that was went well with the pickled veggies and a bit of banana sauce (not shown).

100% taste filipino! And it’s very affordable! Too much oil from the food, but still suprisingly delicious. I loved the sisig!

Oh my God. All the vegan items on the menu are bomb! No more to say. Everything is amazing, we thought they messed up our order and brought meat instead. It is not tasteless, weird or soggy! Update: the vegan spam is delicious too! Last time I was too hungry to take a photo but this time got picture of that...

Great spot for Filipino food. Lots to different dishes, and amazing just like you would get in the Philippines. Can buy Ube and other condiments as well. Definetly recommend finding a way to go here if in los angeles area.

Finally Filipino food on the west side! Portions are huge! I got the sisig and beef skewers. The sisig was awesome, although I wish it came with egg. Prices were fair considering how big the meal was. Hoping for more good westside Filipino restaurants in the future!

After following this spot on Instagram for a while I finally made the drive to try it out and it did not disappoint! My disappoint came when I didn't order more and saw everything else I should've tried online. Highly recommended! Next time I'm trying the fried chicken, definitely!

Definitely lives up to the name of Filipino soul food. Everything was quite decadent and full of flavor. The pancit was cooked perfect and the sisig was a flavor bomb. Of all the things we got, the only thing that was not great was the homemade spam.

This place was so good! It’s hard to find vegan Filipino food so I was very excited and it did not disappoint! So flavorful and the portions are great! :)

It's nice to finally have decent Filipino food on the west side! I had the lechon kiwali (monthly special) and also got the ube butter to spread on their made-in-house pan de sal. All of it was pretty tasty. I don't think the garlic rice upgrade was worth the $1, but I don't fully regret getting it either, so I guess that's fine. Decent sized portions for the price, I'll definitely be back again.

Such a good vibe while waiting for our order. Yummy food and my Lil one love the pandesal with spaghetti. Hubby and son approved 👍👍😊 I love the chicharon (only available during the weekend) it was really good 😋

Big Boi got me through some sad pandemic, lockdown times (kudos for them for figuring out the take out/online ordering + social distancing thing so quickly). Years later, I still think they have the best Filipino food I have ever tried. * The weekend fried chicken is the best and even better with the gravy included. * Garlic rice pairs with everything, goes well especially with the longanisa. * Pork Tocino is good and reminds me of Chinese sausage. I would order the longanisa over this, as it is more flavorful. * Lumpia has a nice amount of filling and perfectly fried.

If you're a fan of filipino food, this place is a must try! Otherwise you're missing out. I just wish it was closer to me in the SGV. Chicken adobo so tender and delicious. Longanisa is on point. Not too oily, but just enough to satisfy the soul. Pancit was devoured in maybe 3 guilty bites. My partner also devoured that smallz combo of sisig and garlic fried rice. Lastly, the Ube Butter.... just look at all the hype from everyone. Its legit. Its hands sound my new favorite dessert.

This place is AMAZING!!! My partner are I are visiting from out of town and we’ve already ordered twice from them in the same week! Everything has been delicious but the standouts are the chicken + gravy (weekend special), lechon, sisig, and pickles. I love the variety of vegetables in the pancit too! The prices are so reasonable it’s honestly a steal. The big combo is enough for two solid meals at $15. I highly recommend this spot—I’m just sad I can’t have it again once I leave!

I ordered their smallz plate with sisig for a Filipino friend and he said it tastes like his mother's amazing cooking. If that's not a 5 star review, I don't know what is. PS they gave me free garlic rice even though it is normally $1 extra PPS if you order from here, you get a $1 discount on desserts at B Sweet down the road

I've ordered take from Big Boi several times and it's always good comfort food. The chicken adobo, garlic rice and egg rolls are my favorites. Definitely would recommend.

This was hands down one of THE best restaurants I have ever gone to. No restaurant was able match the flavor and quality of service that Big Boi provided during my time in LA. They pride themselves in providing comfort food, and it’s not just the food. The people are equally as welcoming and wonderful. The food was so good that my family and I got some to bring home on our flight! I have never seen a manager who cares so much about his customers. Whether you live in LA or are just visiting: You have to visit Big Boi. My personal favorite item is the Pork Sisig, but the Chicken Adobo is also fantastic! Will definitely be coming back during my next visit :)

Unbelievably good food. Counter service, not a very large place but some outdoor dining to give you a chance to watch the people walk by. Large portions of very tasty Filipino food. Everything cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back for more.

Filipino Fried Chicken w/ Gravy - 5 🌟! Big Boi is the savory concept from the chef/owner of nearby B Sweets. They serve Filipino and Filipino fusion dishes, and on the weekend only, they add fried chicken to the menu. I had the opportunity to travel in the Philippines a while ago and was pleased to see they enjoy their fried chicken with gravy, something that isn't normally seen in the US. It may seem like an odd combo, but I can assure you it is fantastic. I will warn folks that it can get quite messy, but I also admit I may not be savvy enough to eat the chicken and gravy without making a glorious mess. The Big Boi fried chicken was succulent and packed with flavor. The crispy coating is chef's kiss level texture and flavor. My biggest problem was that I was so eager to dive in, I didn't let it cool down, and it was scalding hot and super fresh out of the fryer. I'm intrigued by the rest of the menu, but I'm very grateful I gave the fried chicken a try. It was amazing. This area is tough for parking. I don't know of any safe, reliable lots, and I had to circle a few to find a street spot.

Big portions. The big plate was more than enough for two. We asked for pork sisig and longanisa and was amazing. The calamansi water was refreshing.

Been coming here since the day it opened and have always been happy that there’s a convenient Filipino restaurant that opened in the West Los Angeles area neighborhood, at the time when I used to live nearby. It is also owned by Chef Barb, owner of the nearby popular Filipino desserts place called B Sweets. They used to have a tables inside but since they reopened post covid, they now just have patio : outside tables and majority of their business is mostly take outs and deliveries I believe. They still have the same consistent good and delicious Filipino foods and the stand out would be the crispy fried chicken. It is super casual and if you decide to eat there at their patio, everything will be served on a to go paper plates, cups and containers which was fine. The service was great and food was made to order quick. You either have to order online in a kiosk like machine available or order personally but I think they prefer for everyone to order online. Modern times lol! Parking is a bit challenging because the only place to park are the metered street parking.

Awesome Filipino restaurant & im definitely coming back in the future! On this beautiful hot day, I got some calamansi juice to cool me off & I ordered the Sisig with garlic fried rice. By far one of the best Sisig I’ve ever had, a different take on it but still has the taste of solid Sisig! The garlic rice is a must have and the pandesal on the side is gold! Shoutout to the excellent customer service too! I highly recommend checking this spot out & can’t wait to taste their other offerings! ***update*** I had a Uber eats order and it came correct. Delicious pork pieces that were cooked perfectly and super crispy with that all purpose sauce! The pork tocino, fried lumpia, spaghetti, fried chicken, langonisa, pork sisig and garlic fried rice topped with a fried egg was phenomenal! The spaghetti was good, not as good as jollibee but that’s just my opinion and the fried chicken was also good but not Max’s level. Overall it’s an amazing restaurant.

So I was near by trying their sister store B Sweet! A place for delicious filipino treats. I ordered for pick up. The place is really small only a few tables out front for outdoor dining. Looks like everyone was receiving their orders in to go packaging. The prices were decent and the food was so good! We tried the filipino spaghetti, it was very tasty and tasted home made. Also had a small plate with pork sisig and garlic rice mmmm garlic rice is my favorite! And trying the sisig for the first time I really did love it! I added a fried egg to go on top for that tasty runny yolk and that made it so much better. Also tried the beef sinigang soup! Wow it was so tangy and delicious I couldn't get enough of it had big tender juicy pieces of fall apart beef and some squash the flavors were all there and they were so yummy. Just wish there was a bit more vegetables in there! Yes I will return and yes I will definitely recommend!

I have no words… Best Filipino food in town📍. Our family tried the sides pork tocino, longaniza, and the pork sisig. Which were all so yummy! The garlic rice is honestly the way to go, don’t go for basic rice. The two order of lumpias were incredible and when reheated in the air fryer the next day are even more crispier! My wife got the spaghetti and stated she loved it but wished there were a few more pieces of the sausage. Don’t go for soft drinks here because everyone should try with their order the Calamansi juice which is a perfect taste of lemonade but slightly sweeter. Advice ‼️ Overall our purchase for two big plates, one small plate, 2 sides of lumpias, a side of spaghetti, and 3 drinks was a little over $100. Next time we plan on just going for the family meal since you get a bit more than buying everything separately! :)

Alabama native, LA local. I was introduced to Filipino food in Sacramento by my former partner and her family. I’ve been craving authentic dishes but didn’t know where to go- until today. I wanted pancit, lumpia and Halo Halo- enter Big Boi and B Sweet! The self serve menu at the entrance of Big Boy was incredibly easy to navigate and order from. I received my text telling me my meal was ready right after receiving my Halo Halo and ube bread pudding from B Sweet, which is conveniently located a few doors down. I ordered the big combo with pork sisig, longanisa and all pancit. I also ordered fried chicken with gravy and lumpia. Everything was umami and I don’t feel tired after sampling everything. It’s hard to pick my favorite, everything is very well seasoned and juicy. I’m very impressed with how fresh everything tasted and I look forward to discussing this experience with my Filipino coworkers who all told me I had to go to Carson to get good Filipino food. Thank you for bringing me to a part of town I haven’t explored yet and for providing quality, affordable Filipino staples. I will definitely be back!

It was decent, but I still prefer my mom's lol!! Lumpia was good! Had the spam with rice and pancit. Pan de sal was kinda stale. I usually like to dip lumpia with toyomansi or soy sauce and put some on my rice, but they didn't have any, which I thought was weird.

A contemporary take on Turo Turo style resto in the heart of Lil Tokyo West LA. Simple workflow, big small combo. Start off with Rice, Noodles (Pancit) then choose your Proteins / veggies and add any extra filipino delicacies (Small fried eggrolls (Lumpia Shanghai), Tangy soup, Sweet spaghetti, roasted pig(lechon). The calamansi juice is on point so do try to get that. Its all situated in a cantina like with outdoor seating (cozy). For the expats a little taste of home in West LA.

Overall rating: 3.5 Tldr; pretty average food, but a welcome option for Philippino food on the west side. I ordered the 1 entree combo ($8 combo+ $1 up charge for the garlic rice selection). I chose beef skewer and garlic fried rice, and also ordered the lumpia ($8) and ube butter ($5) Beef skewers - rating 3.5 2 beef skewers, 3 pieces of meat per stick . These were pretty salty and not super tender. Garlic rice - 3.75 Sweet undertones, cooked with garlic and green onion. A little on the soft side, def not that panfried "chewy" fried rice texture. A little overpriced IMO, but pretty tasty. Pan de Sal Roll: rating 3 a little sweet, a little dry Ube butter: rating 3.75 Vanilla, coconutty. If you like bsweet's ube dessert, you'll probably like this!

First time trying Big Boi and it was such a comforting experience! We originally wanted the weekend special catfish adobo, but since it wasn’t available, we switched to a combo with two sides, chicken calamansi and pork tocino. The garlic rice was super fragrant and flavorful. The pork tocino was sweet and delightful, and the calamansi chicken was juicy and tasty. The sinigang was a bit too concentrated for my preference, but overall it really gives that authentic Filipino comfort food vibe. Generous portions too. Definitely a nice spot to satisfy those cravings! They also have menu with no meat (vegan) will try that next time!

My friend and I visited this place while in LA and we were not disappointed. We got the whole fried chicken and gravy it was not as juicy but it was still very flavourful. I also got the chicken adobo which was my favorite! It was flavorful & I also got garlic rice not a strong garlic flavor but there was a spicy garlic sauce with real toasted garlic which made it the best I've ever had I wish this place was in here in Atlanta

Me and my friend drove last night from the valley all the way to this place because someone told us that the food here is bomb. And it didn't disappoint. I ordered an entree of sisig, longganisa, and garlic rice and I tell you that it's one of the best Filipino foods I have ever had here in California. The food is divine and very much like the authentic Filipino cuisine and the serving is alright. The only downside is the restaurant itself. They don't have indoor seating so their tables and chairs are set up outside in the patio/sidewalk. They have a counter inside and a bunch of boxes lined up all over the walls that restrict the space for any indoor seating. This would be ok if it were not too cold outside where we sat and ate and there wasn't even a heater to at least warm the customers. Plus I don't think the small tables outside are sturdy enough and would probably knock off in the slightest accidental bump and would send your food flying 😅 So I think this place is best for to-go service. The food is definitely great and the price is reasonable! 👍

The food is good, the chicken adobo needs a bit more color maybe to be grilled. The lumpias need to be served hot. The service was good, could be a bit more comfortable with the chairs.

For a first foray into Filipino food, I the food was pretty good. Quick note on the service, there were only two other people at the restaurant, but it took 30 minutes to get the food and it wasn’t even hot, like mildly warm. I don’t know if this is because they have a lot of online orders but the wait was a bit long for not being crowded. The Chicken Adobo was could have been more tender but it was fine. Flavor wise, it was like a watered down teriyaki sauce. There was no sauce actually coating the chicken, it was just in a shallow puddle at the bottom. A bit disappointing but still good. The Beef Giniling was a big improvement. If you like Shepards pie, you’ll love this. It’s a hearty meal with carrots, peas, richly flavored beef with some raisins for sweetness. I was surrounded with how much I liked this. Rice is rice but the Pancit Noodles are where it’s at. The noodles are so buttery and delicious. The veggies provide a snap for contrast and mixed with the beef; incredible bite. What you HAVE TO get is the Lumpia Shanghai. These egg roll type sticks have a beautifully delicacy and flaky crust. The filling inside is flavored nicely and all of it pairs well with the sweet chili sauce. Big Boi has some good options and great portions if you want to try Filipino food.

I appreciate the efforts of the business, accommodating for vegans and having vegan items, which are super hard to find within Filipino culture. However, after trying the garlic rice, vegan longganisa, vegan egg, and the vegan pandesal… it did not come close to resembling the real non vegan authentic versions… the garlic rice didn’t taste fresh at all and was mildly warm… the longganisa tasted like tocino somewhat idk.. didn’t like any of it. All vegan items in the meals cost $3+ just FYI High hopes but disappointed….. on to the next Filipino spot on the hunt for good authentic vegan Filipino food.

My wife is Filipino and every time we're in a new place, she looks for Filipino restaurants. Today we had some time in LA, and this is the closest Filipino place to the airport. We should have just gone further out. This place was a complete disappointment. I'll start with the positive... the lumpia, with their sweet chili sauce was actually pretty good. This is why it's two stars and not one. Everything else was less than subpar. The tocino was disgusting. It's like they just dyed some pork chunks red and overcooked them in sugar water. The longanisa tastes like they just took the same failed tocino, ground it up and stuffed it in a sausage casing. My wife says she can't even describe the sisig, other than it's terrible. She ate her rice. Everything else get thrown away. Such a disappointment.

This place has some good reviews so I ordered from Uber Eats 2 times. And both times it was terrible and the food did not look anything like the picture. I got the weekend special today and what I got was sad. The meat had no sauce but the pic shows as if it has sauce. Was not a fan of the lumpia, but that could be preferance. The only thing that was worth eating was the pancet. So sad because I tried it twice and both times I was disappointed. I really wanted to like it. Maybe I'll have to go in person.

Got Food?

This was my first time eating at Big Boi and pretty much Filipino food in general. I think part was ordering the wrong item - should have ordered something more authentic. I ordered one of their special - the fried chicken and a classic side - spaghetti. The fried chicken wasn’t all that honestly. Wasn’t a huge fan of the flavor and the breading. I was expecting a BIG JUUUUICY meat but didn’t get it. The spaghetti was the most disappointing one. It was pretty much cold 😭 I had such high hopes for it since everyone recommends it and was ready to SLUUURP it. Not sure if they’re prepackaged but it would be nice if they keep it warm for the customer (see how the cheese isn’t melted). I also got the Ube Butter togo and THAT WAS MY FAVORITE! 🤩 I probably would have scored it lower if the Ube butter wasn’t so delicious. I highly recommend it with some brioche or Hawaiian roll…MMMM PERFECTO! 🤤 I’ll definitely go back and give it another shot and update the review.

So disappointed I order this all the time. Today it came with just meat and rice where are all the vegetables and flavoring. I am extremely disappointed in the service. I was looking forward to eating it the way you normally make and the way the picture looks. I was going to order from Jollibee but waited an hour to eat from Big boi.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place for some Filipino food since it was the closest option nearby. The food was okay overall. He ordered the giniling with rice, and I had the pork sisig and lumpia. Unfortunately, the dishes were served cold and didn’t taste very authentic. However, we really enjoyed the lumpia . it was the best part of our meal.

This review is not based on the food. The food was delicious and the garlic rice was spectacular. My grave concern is on the use of single use plastic at this place. We dined here and we’re given a to go box.

I'm here waiting on my food and I am already disappointed. This is Not a friendly place. Customer service is horrible. Then the menu is incomprehensible. It's all online and terrible to navigate. Unless this food is amazing, I am prob not coming back. Oh and forget about parking nearby. Just got my food and it is tiny. Very small portion for 12 bucks. The lechon is super dry.

This was the worst Filipino food ever. It wasn’t fresh at all. It tasted like it’s been sitting under a heat lamp. Chicken adobo tasted like it was cooked out from a crockpot. The Longginisa was dry and sweet like eating a sugar cube. We drove almost an hour to try this place out, it wasn’t worth it!! So disappointed!!!!

I’ve never felt more disrespected in a restaurant. The way I was treated by someone who seemed to be the manager (or possibly the owner) was completely unacceptable. Their tone was rude, dismissive, and frankly, shocking for someone in a position of leadership. It’s incredibly disappointing when a business forgets the basic value of treating people with decency. I came here expecting good food and a pleasant experience, but instead, I was made to feel humiliated and unwelcome. No one deserves to be spoken to or treated this way—especially not paying customers. I will not be returning, and I hope others think twice before supporting a place that allows this kind of behavior.

This review is regard to their online store. I ordered some ube butter off their website a few weeks ago and they never shipped my item. I contacted them via email, phone call, and Instagram. No one ever responded to my messages. I ordered nearly $100 worth of stuff that I’ll have to file a claim for. It is very irresponsible for them to sell products on a website and have no one to fulfill the order or provide basic customer service. I don’t recommend ordering from their website and supporting their business.

I was craving some empanadas so I went to a place not that far from the college. And when I arrived they are talking about each empanada is $8 and I can only buy one. So I’m like, “why can I only buy one?” Young dude is went to the kitchen to asked the chef how many they had left and when he came back he said that they had four left but if I wanted to buy more than one I gotta buy all four at $8s each. I just walked out. What kind of business dealings is this nowadays? Cold game!

I’ve given this place a shot 3 times and it has been disappointing each time. I love Filipino food and can’t understand how a place could suck at it so much. There’s not a lot of Filipino restaurants near me so I was really hoping for this place to at least be okay. Their chicken adobo doesn’t taste like adobo. They keep serving food that has gone bad. The first time I ordered, they delivered lumpia that tasted extremely sour and was just smelly. My fault for even taking a bite. I ordered pork tocino and the same exact thing. It’s so disappointing because none of the dishes here feel like they were prepared with thought and love which is what most Filipino kitchens give you. Prepared meals at Filipino grocery stores are better than this. Do better.
