Prepare for a delight at Silverlake House by Leela Thai! Their ambiance is a harmonious blend of tranquility, serenaded by soothing music. They curate an exquisite collection of natural wines, skillfully selected to complement the fiery tang of their soup. Unforgettable dish highlights include The Dusty Pig, a mouthwatering fusion of zest, crunch, and Thai Larb-inspired spice in fried pork form. The Tom Zaap Soup is a spicy concoction of roasted powder and soft pork bone broth that will instantly revive your senses. Don't miss out on the Devil Wings, saucy, spicy wings with a bit of everything. For a more refreshing option, opt for the Som Tum E-Saan Salad, a spicy Papaya salad bursting with authentic flavors, perfect when paired with sticky rice. Finally, try the Pad Thai Crispy Wonton, a fresh spin on a classic street dish. There's an array of culinary adventures waiting for you to uncover at Silverlake House. So, why not treat your special someone to a delightful day or night out? It's truly the best gift you could give.
The Silver Lake House is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely cares about creating a great dining experience. The food is incredible—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish tastes thoughtfully made, whether it’s a light, healthy option or something more indulgent. The balance of flavors and quality of ingredients really sets this place apart. The setting is also perfect—relaxed yet stylish, making it ideal for both a casual meal with friends or a special night out. The attention to detail in both service and food shows that this restaurant takes pride in everything they do. I can’t recommend The Silver Lake House enough. A true neighborhood treasure and definitely one of the best dining spots in LA!
This place is fantastic. We originally weren't sure what to expect when we got here late on a Friday night and were the only customers here. But it must be the season or that this place is an inconspicuous gem, because the food was really good, the service was good, and the portions were generous. We'll definitely be coming back!
The dining room has a really cool, tucked away, garden vibe. Food is excellent—very authentic. Busy, but the staff is on top of it. Can’t recommend enough!
Was feeling a lil under the weather & since Campbell soup is on some BS. Needed some fresh soup I could count on!! Ordered the Vegan Tom kha soup with veggies!!! Hands down best soup I’ve ever had.🤤 I made a video! I wish I could share it here!!
I'm literally considering moving here just to be near this place. $11 lunch special this good?? I'm very particular about my pad kra pao basil stir fry... Most places can't hit all the requirements. Spicy, sweet, tangy, and with the chicken cooked properly. This one nailed it and then some 🤌🔥
We went here on a Sunday night before a show at the echo and had a great meal for a really reasonable price. I ordered the Tom kha soup with shrimp and drunken veggie dumplings, which were both really good and came out super fast. We sat inside, which is very charming, and it has a really cute patio area as well! Highly recommend!
A quaint and cozy, but somehow vibrant all at once, place to get the best Tom Kha soup I've ever had in my entire life. I wish this place existed in Canada in Calgary because I'm craving it and will be for the rest of forever until I can get back to LA. The staff were just so friendly, and the dishes came fast. If I could rate this 10 stars, I would! Make sure to visit in LA!
Really really cute spot with a great ambiance! I loved the jungle-like patio and the overhead lights were a nice touch. The service was kind and attentive and the food was delicious! I had the tofu pad see ew and it was a great mix of broccoli, noodles, and egg. They have a pretty extensive vegan menu too if you need one!
Great patio, I thought ambiance outside is better than inside. All of the staff was very good and friendly, and food was excellent for the price. Price, ambiance, and food is why I give it a 5. Sure, you can get fine dining and more refined at a high price, but you can eat here for the same price as a fast food joint or a strip mall. Even my kids enjoyed and want to go back.
On vacation from Chicago and this is some of the best Thai we’ve ever had! The place was super busy and we had to put our names on their wait list sheet. It took 20/30 minutes but completely worth it. They’re a little understaffed but if you’re patient you can experience some amazing food! Panang Curry, Pad See Eiw, Summer Rolls, Rangoons all 10/10!
This place has lots of options for anybody who likes different types of Thai and far Eastern type of food. Food tastes great and your're surrouded with nature when sitting inside which is outside at the same time as it's inside. Service is also great. I would definitely recommend trying it and seeing for yourself. I usually get the seafood soup, never fails. As a licensed Gereral B Contractor and Construction Company InnovativeConstructions.US, I sometimes have projects in the area so I eat here once in a while. Go try it for sure.
Silver Lake House is a wonderful neighborhood gem with incredible Thai food. Authentic, tasty, generously-sized portions, and with a full vegetarian menu, this establishment offers something for everyone and has never disappointed me! The Larb Duck is one of my favorites, as is their Pad Thai Boran. On weekdays, they also have fantastic lunch specials that are truly unbeatable. I've brought so many friends here over the years, and we all keep coming back! They can get pretty busy during prime time, so expect a short wait during dinner at times, but the food is without a doubt 100% worth it.
Very nice atmosphere. Curbside tables available with heaters. How can you not love Thai cuisine, right spiciness as requested 🥵
We celebrated a birthday here with a group of six people. The restaurant left a wonderful impression! The food was amazing: rich flavors, fresh ingredients, you can tell it's made by professionals. The portions are generous — everyone had enough and we left very full. The interior is very cozy, and the atmosphere is perfect for socializing and celebrations. The staff is attentive and caring. Definitely recommend for gatherings with friends and special occasions!
Everything was perfect! Truly felt like I was back in Thailand. Service was great & food was authentic. Highly recommend!
The atmosphere was perfect and cozy, got seated fairly quickly even tho they were busy. The food came out pretty quick once we ordered. I had the pad Thai and we ordered a chicken fried rice and both were really good! Everything that i saw come out to other tables looked delicious. Definitely coming back.
Amazing service, great safe outdoor dining, pup friendly, and tasty spicy Thai food! Highly recommend glass noodles, pad Thai, chicken lettuce wrap, and the house specialty spicy beef with jasmine rice. There is some street front parking, but it can be a little tight. This is one of our favorite spots. We are always trying new dishes, and also ordering our favorites. The outdoor patio is just awesome. It transforms the entire feel, and gives you an intimate, special dining experience. The food is tasty, and can be made very spicy! It is great. There is also sidewalk seating out front, and a few tables indoors. 2024 update: continues to be one of our favorite Thai spots in La. Great team, beautiful nature filled patio, and delicious food. Highly reco the chili basil dishes, the glass noodles, and the lettuce chicken wraps!
This is my favorite Thai restaurant great service and the food is always delicious!❤️
food was so good & the vibe of the overall place is really cute. they bring out space heaters once it starts getting dark. there’s a restaurant cat that walks around and it’s so cute. i think it’s making sure everyone is having a good time 😂 the dishes are a la carte! so it’s good to order a few a share! we got the heavenly chicken, steamed broccoli, brown rice, and pad kee mow with shrimp. it was delicious.
Best Thai food in Silver Lake. The staff are great and were very accomodating to our requests. The outdoor area has a nice ambiance with string lights and was spaced out nicely. Our favorite dish of the night was the Tom Zapp and the crepe cake is a must-have for dessert. Never disappointed whenever we go.
Had a yummy Thai dinner at The Silver Lake House by Leela Thai! We really enjoyed the Leela crispy roll, pad kee mao, chef Pao Pao, and chow mein. Nice beer selection as well. We sat on the dog friendly patio. Friendly and quick service. Recommend!
Easily some of the best thai food ive ever had! Im from the Boston area so next time im in LA i have to come back here. The mango sticky rice was the best ive ever had and the seafood fried rice was amazing. My friends and I cant stop thinking about this restaurant! Also pretty affordable in my opinion. Will be back again

Amazing experience! Walked in on a Fri night and only waited 5 mins. Cute and cozy vibes. Food is incredible! Iced Thai tea, wonton chicken pad Thai, drunken dumplings, and the tom yum soup were all mouth watering! Staff was so helpful and friendly too. 10/10
I LOVE this place. Dylan is so nice. Him and his family own the place. They hire amazing people as well. I highly recommend the Chicken Pad Thai and the Calamari. I've been coming here for six years. Go here!

This is a quaint restaurant that has been serving Thai food for so many years. The owners have kept and displayed napkin doodles, postcards and notes from their customers. These are haphazardly displayed on the dining tables under a glass top. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The food was served at a nice pace. We loved the fancy shrimp salad and dusty pig . The Tom yum, pad Thai and pad see ew were too sweet compared to other places. The satay chicken was flavorful. We ordered too much and there was no room for the mango sticky rice.
The Silver Lake house is a local institution that serves some delicious food at a wonderful price! This family owned and operated restaurant offers a wonderful lunch special from 11 to 3pm 5 days a week for $7.95 starting. You can get chicken and mix vegetables along with the egg roll and side salad all for that price, nowhere else in town you can beat this and the quality is good. I highly recommend stopping by this Silver Lake restaurant. They offer sidewalk dining but I prefer the garden dining that is wonderful and you're surrounded by nice plants. It's a great place for family, friends, single or for parties.

The food is delicious, I’ve been many times and tried different dishes and they are all excellent. The place is nice too, has a beautiful patio. The only problem is that sometimes it takes too long to get your food and it’s very common that they will bring the food to one person in the table and the rest will be watching for a long time before they receive theirs 🫤 anyway I keep going back because the food is really good.
The ambience and food were great. I enjoyed the drunken noodles, crispy roll, and tom kha soup. The dishes had lots of flavor and not too greasy. It was a bit packed when we were there so service was slow that night.

I am a big fan of Thai food, and I've tried many good Thai restaurants in LA and OC areas. Honestly, I was very very disappointed: the 4.7 rating does not fit my expectations at all. - First of all, street parking is very tough because it is on the main road where many cars pass by. I'm not sure the parking area in the back of the building is for the customers. - Second, they do not provide tap water, so you should expect to pay extra bucks for Arrowhead. - Third, I'm healthy guru who tried not to consume much sodium, and I often advise my mother about cooking less salty food. But, what this restaurant served was so salty, even for my mother who consumes lots of salty food. I started to think they deliberately made the food very salty so that people wouldn't be able to stand without drinks. The two extra stars come from the outdoor seating's environment and vibes. The trees were outstanding and good place to eat and chill. It would be better when you go during evening when it's dark and the lights are on. However, there were so many flies that we were so distracted from trying to enjoy the food. Since it's in Silver Lake area, the atmosphere around there is generally good, and it's a couple of minutes away from the lake by walking. I eat Panang Curry wherever I go for Thai food, and this place's Panang Curry was a big disappoinment for me. Pad Thai was too salty. Generally, everything is salty, so I asked later dish to be made less salty. But, I believe this place's saltiness may suit for many people.
We came here after seeing the good ratings and decided to give it a try. The place is cute, especially the outdoor patio. It was a bit cold and there weren’t heaters near our table, but we were given the option to sit inside, which was nice. The menu has a lot of options. We kept it classic with dumplings to start, then pad thai and pad see ew. There was a bit of an awkward moment with the service. A waitress dropped off an unopened can of Diet Coke that we hadn’t ordered. We mentioned it, thinking it was just a simple mistake, but then our waitress came back insisting we had ordered it, pulling out her notes. It wasn’t a big deal, but it created a slightly weird vibe over something that was clearly a miscommunication. Food-wise, portions are generous. My pad thai had a lot of tofu, which I wasn’t expecting since I ordered chicken. Flavor-wise, it leaned on the sweeter side, which just isn’t my personal preference, so I was a bit disappointed. Overall, nothing was truly bad, but it just didn’t do it for me. Probably more about personal taste than anything else.
For Thai food, I think there are much better places nearby. The service felt chaotic. It was very busy and loud. The food wasn’t as spicy as I’d hoped, and some of the flavors were missing.

We were excited to go but the customer service was disappointing. They wiped all of the tables in our area for the parties next to us and left ours dirty. They also took the orders of people that arrived after us before taking ours, and we were not checked on as often or treated with the same warm attitude. The unequal treatment was off putting. In regard to food, the wonton soup was good, but the chicken in the thai red curry was underwhelming.

Second time here and this time was not as good experience as the first time. I was on a date with my husband. Service was not good this time, (we had 4 different waiters) and we didn't get our food at the same time. I had to wait 8 minutes for my food and at that point my husbands food was getting cold. Green curry was very good, even if they missed to make it "Thai spicy" in the kitchen. The world beef is good but a bit "simple" and bland. Try the Thai ice coffee, it's delicious!
Positives: Service and atmosphere is great for a casual get together albeit somewhat packed, and visually, the food looks great. Negatives: Very disappointed by the use of old ingredients in every dish we ordered (pad thai, panang curry, papaya salad). I could tell based on texture and flavor that every meat we had was pre-cooked/frozen and simply reheated in the wok/curry before serving. The outside of the cabbage had dark spots on the edges and marks like it was nibbled on by a bug.
I tried the larb duck. It had a lot of dry parts. When I asked the employee, she said this was the normal service. I think it was reheated a few times or burned in the oven. If this is the normal service, it is definitely not my style. Those who will order should take this into consideration. Creepe cakes are different and original. I can give 3.5-4 stars for this dessert.

So disappointed! We were a party of two and were forced to leave our table when almost ready to eat so staff could accommodate another party of people, when in fact they had more than plenty of space at another section of the restaurant, service was extremely slow this time, when called to speak with the manager or person in charge no one was available to receive my complain they said, hostess thought she was right and we customers were wrong, we are not coming back, did the travel from Glendora for nothing..what a shame!!!!!
Food is below average. Service is absolutely terrible. Extremely slow service and we were not checked on, not even once. Parking is nonexistent. Lots of other Thai food options in the area that are better than this one.
