Awesome place to eat quality of food very good there is just one slight problem shrimp cocktail needs to be changed does not have good enough taste was disappointed when i tried it but for the most part food and service is a 10. 1 being the worst 10 being the best

If you are looking for authentic, flavorful Mexican food at a fair price this is your place. From traditional sopas/caldos, to texmex favorites like fajitas they have a great variety of dishes to choose from. I have yet to try a dish I didn’t like.

The service was outstanding. The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. I had the huevos rancheros and it's the best rancheros sauce I've ever tasted. The beans were great and the tortillas, though small, we're homemade and delicious.My wife had the migas and they were extremely good.

Love the food and service here! Legit Mexican restaurant that is also a great place for breakfast too. There are lots of options on the menu and everything I've had here for breakfast or lunch has been great. My favorite right now is their Chilli Relleno plate.

I always go through the drive through window here. Always the same man at the window. Very nice. This place has the BEST queso and chips!! I love it. Food is good. Not to fond of the menudo here but everything else has been really good. I would recommend this restaurant.

Excellent service and food, great live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. I think they have the best soups and seafood dishes in town, and everything is made from scratch, always fresh. Just a great place.

Older place . I ordered a small shrimp cocktail. 🦐 it wasn't small. It was a full meal for me. Cold beer, and that was all for me. I had to get the quesdilla to go. Waitress was sweet, and her name is my grandmother's name, Julia. She told me that she was named after her grandmother. I was traveling on a road trip. I am glad I chose this place

My in laws came in from Waco and we decided to dine here for the first time. I loved the environment and the service was great. Food came out and I usually do not like beans but when I had a taste I ate my whole serving. The place was nice and clean and the music that was playing was not familiar but had a nice tune. Even my sister in law who is not of Latino origin loved the music. The plates we ordered were enough to eat there and take some home for later. Thank you to the kind people who helped us and great food that was cooked. Would recommend this to any family member who comes and visits Lubbock in the future.

Breakfast tacos were so good! Best I've had in a long time. I don't know how they make their refried beans, but they are magical. Was really pleased to find an El Charro in Lubbock on our way north. Service was fast and friendly! Well done, y'all!

Everything was good till it was time to pay they have daily specials one of the specials said $6.99 it was a breakfast item breakfast is serviced all day. We were charged regular price for the special when I brought this to the waitress attention she told me it was for breakfast only, I told her breakfast is all day and it on the board she said they forgot to erase it, I told her they should still honor it since that's what it says, she became argumentive and said she's just a waitress she can't change it. She did say she will ask the owner son but she didn't know what the big deal was about and that I was inconviencing him. She did get him he came out he was super nice and said they forgot to erase it but he would give me that price, which I greatly appreciated but the waitress never came out to apologize or anything for her attitude at checkout. The young man was very kind and professional.

We have been here for almost 20 years and have missed out on this little gem. The picadillo was not greasy, the shredded chicken was good with great spice not too hot. The gordita was not chewy I loved it and will be going back soon. The prices were very decently priced not overrated.

In Lubbock for a wedding and found this little place on the edge of town. By far the best tasting mexican food I've had in a long long time. Waitress was polite and atte tove and the atmosphere was quiet and cozy. It's was great! If if you find my review and looking for some really good food, gives these guys a try. They will not dissapoint.

We have stopped and ordered breakfast the past two days while in town visiting. The food is fresh, delicious and prepared pretty quickly. Barbacoa was not greasy and finely shredded. My entire group loved it. Tacos a great. Chilaquiles were a hit as well. Absolutely no complaints from our group.

Service is quick. I ordered a regular shrimp cocktail. It came in a large chilled glass schooner with celery, avocados, cucumber, lemons and limes. It had lots of shrimp with a fresh clean taste. Good value and a distinguished flavor.

Not the best ever but they are still really good. They have a authentic Mexican menu and most of the staff speak Spanish. They are polite and in my experience and cater to your needs. Love coming here when I get the chance.

This restaurant surprised me. It's hard to find a Mexican restaurant with decent cheese enchiladas. It's a simple dish, but I have yet to be able find a place that doesn't mess them up. Well the cheese enchiladas at El Charro's are very good. I will definitely be back.

On April 3rd 2024 I got a delivery. I ordered menudo, a beef enchilada and a cheese enchilada. Oh my gosh I have not ate Mexican food like this since 1970s. IT WAS GREAT!!. And you can bet I will start eating there for now from as long as the food tastes this good I'll be there. I've been telling everyone. I have been looking for a place like this so long and I'm sorry to keep saying what I ordered was the first time and it was delicious.

This is one of my favorite restaurant's. I enjoy the location, staff, and reasonable prices for the Delicious food. And there's also a dollar menu which I purchase regularly. Lubbock needs restaurants like "El Charro".

The food was very delicious! The service was great! One downfall, the wait is a little long if you have more than 4 persons. I highly recommend this place for great food. Just keep it under 4 persons!

Fantastic little place to eat, nice and clean and very quick friendly service. Prices are very good for the quality and quantity of food that you receive. I ordered the street tacos al pastor and they had awesome flavor. The sauce they offer is very tasty and adds a lot to the meal. Was my first visit here and I will be returning!

Came in for lunch with a party of 4. Oscar was our server and did a really good job! My asada tacos were a little tough and chewy, decent flavor, wife had the Gordita and she said it was ok. The other two dishes, tripas and a sirloin steak were great! Overall, not too bad.

¡Buen provecho! My beautiful sister from El Paso came to visit so we chose to eat here. Such a great choice! We ordered a barbacoa burrito. It was a huge size burrito. The barbacoa meat was chopped well with great texture and nicely tendered. The enchiladas were filled with plenty of ground beef and were oh so cheesy! The migas plate was also nicely cooked. The tortilla strips were crispy, and the scrambled eggs were mixed well with plenty of peppers and onions. ¡FANTASTICO!

This was our first visit to El Charro. The server was really nice and the food tasted great. We went about 930am so it wasn't business until we nearly finished. My only issue was the food was not hot. It was warm but not hot. We didn't say anything though, as we don't like to send food back. Other than that it was good. I would go again.

They need a better or fast way to do things through the drive through. I spent most of my lunch time in line. Then after ordering I still waited. By the time I go my food it was time to go back to the office. Even when we went in for lunch. The wait is horrible.

Highly recommend the Jalisco burrito! Super good! The food was really good the service was not really all there I felt like we were being rushed out the building and we didn't get refills on our drinks out food did come out quick though

I love this place and I go frequently because there food is delicious but it never fails that my taco is messy (very sloppy) or looks like it was tossed around. I believe that presentation goes a long way and keeps costumers coming back.

We went saturday afternoon staff was fine, me and my husband thought the food was ok but i almost swallowed a big piece of plastic Luckily I didnt choke I let the waitress know she offered me another taco plate but i declined, i tried to eat again but the thought of the plastic turned me off. I thought we would get a manager but no one came. We were disappointed it was or first time to visit.

The Menu looks delicious but looks can be deceiving I say that because I ordered a shrimp soup... And it was more like carrot soup! Oh and I also put two stars because everyone around was getting chips and salsa except my table and still had to wait a hour for the Carrot Soup. Not to mention half the girls were full of hickeys I mean not judge but I feel like this restaurant could be more professional and courteous to everyone.

I had been to El Charro's at this location several times with family and had always enjoyed the food and the environment. On this visit with family I was very disappointed in the accessibility for my wheelchair being a wheelchair Patron and very disappointed with the food and the food quality I ordered one of my favorites Menudo the menudo was old and watered down the ingredients that obviously been in a liquid for a very long time and that they were mushy and deteriorating even the harmony was soft turn on the feeling. Again, as a wheelchair Patron, I found it difficult to maneuver in the restaurant due to poor spacing, and the restroom, which was labeled accessible was difficult to maneuver. Due to the above listed issues I cannot recommend this restaurant they'll have it I have enjoyed it in the past but this visit was very disappointing. 🙏🏽 ♿️

The coffee was really good. The waiter was really nice. I ordered the Patrons breakfast with eggs over medium. Served on a sizzling cast iron plate, the cheese was burning on the plate, making it stink. The eggs were cooked way too hot, toasting the white crispy and leaving the yolk totally runny. The waiter was nice and offered to get me something else, but I picked at it a little and left totally disappointed.

Love cockaroaches on my table and definitely love them inside the restaurant. But to even more of a surprise the staff wasn't worried about it. As if it's not an issue for anyone 🤢🤢🤢. So if you want the welcoming smell of sewer water followed up by a cockaroach entrée. Then please eat here at El Charro

waitress was too busy flirting with a male customer. She was not paying attention to the other customers. She didn't even bother to come around to see we needed anything until it was time to drop off the bill then she asked if we needed anything. I told her what for it ain't like you going to bring it anyways. I didn't leave her a tip hopefully the man she was flirting with left her a big tip

Unhappy!!! I ordered the combination plate with enchilada, taco and Chile relleno. The corn tortilla on the enchilada was very hard and there was a hair in it. The Chile relleno, the cheese on top was over crisped and almost burnt. Didn't even eat my plate after finding a hair in my enchilada. Told the waitress and all they did was take off $2. Absolutely not going there again.

I have given only 1 star to write this review. We get together with our lady friends at least once a month to get out, do what shopping we need to do as well as enjoying each other's company. We had been here before with no problems so we didn't expect any this time. We sat down and ordered our drinks. My drink order was the only one that was not correct. I let that pass. We ordered our food. About 45 minutes after we had ordered half the food came out. So now 2 in our party of 4 had food and 2 others of us had nothing. The 2 of us that had nothing were to get an order of spanish rice for myself and an order of refried beans for my friend as we had ordered the seafood fajitas for 2 people. An hour and 20 minutes after we had ordered, our food arrived. We had ordered flour tortillas but received white corn tortillas. One of us in our group is a diabetic and as such needs to eat on a schedule. She was beginning to get sick when we did get our food. We tried to talk to the person in charge. The only thing he said was " things happen they had been very busy all day. I will never visit this business again due to their lack of consideration to their customers. I will also tell others not to eat here.

Very bad service with your waitress I had never experienced this bad of a service before at this restaurant and I came here all the time because I live two houses down this time I took my parents my brother his wife I did not like the service at all so yeah I'm giving you one star you don't deserve that one star either. I forgot the name of the waitress but she never came back to our table after getting our order we were waiting on another person and she had to wait till another waiter to come to our table and get her order never again saw the waitress until we were fixing to leave

This restaurant over charged my card after leaving. I purchased three meals, and my purchased two. They paid cash, we used a card. After singing the bill someone changed the tip. I’ve caught the over charge on my cc statement. Warning good food but you may be stolen from.

Spent 30 dollars on food that didn't taste good. Ask for a carne asada burrito all I got was gravy bean and cheese I could have went to taco villa for a overpriced burrito like that. The other burrito was smashed like someone sat one it. The service took for the ever will not be eating there again

This place looks dead for a reason. Place looks run down and the service is lacking. Had an issue with a dish and the waitress was hesitant to take it back because supposedly she would have to personally pay for it. If that's the case the management is too arrogant to take criticism when a customer has a complaint! I wouldn't step foot in this establishment ever again!

I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times, but this time was different. When I pulled up to the window, the young boy working shorted me 3 dollars and 49 cents, he had hickeys all over his neck, smelled terrible, and had his fingers in his mouth. The food was terribly dry and didn’t get all 3 enchiladas. My drink had almost no syrup in it, and it tasted awful. There was nobody inside, and the time it took for them to get my food out was unbelievable. I’m tired of places like this, with underaged kids having no idea how to do their jobs. Don’t eat here.

I ordered chicken enchiladas to go and they gave me the usual time frame to pick up my order. I went literally 10 minutes after I ordered to pick up my food and mind you I live 2 minutes away from this restaurant. I get home and my food it super cold like it was in a refridgerator and just served to go. I was highly disapointed. I did heat my food here at home but the whole point in ordering food is so its hot and ready to eat.

Food was OK my husband payed with the card he was told a dint work thank henpayed cash. But is card was also charged so they told him they would put his money back to the card they did not. So he payed twice.

2026 thought i was going to have a hot and fresh plate but turn out it was cold very disappointed....Lately food here has been not to good ..haven't seen the owner himself in a long while .....kinda explains how the food isn't perfect anymore due to not seeing him ..if he was around food would be in perfect condition....but like I said had a cold plate when it was supposed to be hot and thats cause they took to much time on getting our food out today !!!!!!

Their food is okay but they over charged me. Guy at the window said 15$ and some change. I look at my card statement and it got adjusted to 19$ bucks. They are probably doing it to everyone who has a card. I strongly urge anyone to just pay cash cus as far as I know they are ripping people off and that's not good for anyone who pays with card. Don't let these people scam you folks...all I got was two burritos and some chips. 19 dollars does not sound like a good price for that amount of food. I will not be back..
