Opinions de Cafe Margierite Margaretville
We come to this café every time we are in town and every single time the food, the atmosphere , and the service are on point. I have to give a huge shout-out to Erica — her work ethic is amazing. You can tell she genuinely cares about what she does and it shows in everything: the way she treats customers, how smoothly things run, and the pride you can taste in the food. It’s rare to find a place that feels like home the moment you walk in, but this café is exactly that. If you’re ever nearby, don’t pass it up — you’ll be planning your next trip back before you even finish your plate!
We stopped for a short stroll and coffee in the town and came across this lovely café on the main street. The service was really pleasant, the latte (pumpkin spice) was excellent—they make the blend here. We also tried some pastries that were delicious; everything feels homemade, full of love and thought.
Very very good. We both had the breakfast sandwich on a croissant, which was perfectly flaky. Also grabbed a sfogliatelle and 2 lemon blueberry madelines to go.
Cute place with the best croissants this side of the Atlantic. The breakfast sandwich was worth driving hours to have on its own (though we came for the nearby skiing). Coffee and tea selections were phenomenal, and they even had some craft brews for sale. And what a treat to find pastel de nata too! This place is special — I would come every day if we lived in the area. So if you are passing through, be sure to stop. Highly recommended for breakfast.
10.20.24 my 1st time here and what a great local gem. The chocolate croissant was warm, flaky, perfection. The Americano was hot and delicious. Overall, this place has a great vibe and is a must stop of you're in the area.
Amazing croissant with lox and eggs and Cappuccino, out of all the neighboring towns this café has truly delicious food
If you’re near here, stop and get the pretzel croissant. It was the crossover carb I didn’t know I was missing from my life - so delicious!! Many good looking food options, but my wife and I both got the pretzel croissant BLT and both really enjoyed it. Would recommend 2 if you’re very hungry as it’s not huge. Iced vanilla latte was good as well. Food and coffee were both out quickly even during Memorial Day weekend rush.
Wowzer. Small town warmth with big city expectations. We had the 4 course prefix dinner thinking there is always something you are not going to like but what the heck. Wrong!!! It was hard not wanting have everything! Some highlights...mushroom escargot. I know, sounds like a typo but it was better than the traditional and zero eww factor. The short ribs, tender, flavorful and the type of dish you wish you could replicate at home. (Chef kiss). Honestly we were so full that we only had one dessert. The passion fruit was just..oy...perfection. Just go. Make a reservation because it's limited seating. Just what you want. Small, cozy, quiet and romantic.
Dina is an incredible chef and made the best wedding cake we have ever tasted! She follows through and advises on the best flavors, icing and how to serve the cake to guests. She is meticulous about her craft so the cake presents beautifully and serves well. Our guests raved that it was the best wedding cake they’ve ever had -- moist and flavorful, with not-too-sweet icing! We recommend Dina and her husband’s cafe; we love getting coffee and pastries there when we are in town. We’re so glad we could incorporate their work into our special day.
100th review!!! Wow. So excited to review this place. It’s funny how we’ve gone through town and missed this gem. Ok for the record, we got a few things to go. Oatmilk latte, was exceptional. If you know oatmilk can get a bit heavy and they had such a great espresso to cream blend. Cortado, nice bold taste and perfect amount of cream. Not too much. Now that pastry though!!! The strawberry cake. Oh em gee! Soft inside, crispy top layer, and loads of flavor. And the flavor came in layers. I don’t know how to describe it but you have to have it The atmosphere was inviting and trendy. Small groups of people added liveliness to the place. And all in all it just seems as if they care about their business. I’ll stop in every time I drive through town.
I had the iced hazelnut latte in July and have thought about it almost every day since. So delicious! And the pain au chocolat, and other treats we sampled, were equally tasty and of the highest quality. I'm planning a fall trip up to the area from Philly - 50% for leaf peeping, 50% for Cafe Marguerite!
I had a special request from Dina at the Cafe. It wa a tall order. She was not only willing to accommodate our special request but went above and beyond. She is kind and generous. Businesses like this cafe is what every town in America needs. I hope this cafe remains successful for many many years.

We found this hidden gem while visiting the Catskills area. Dining at Cafe Marguerite was an absolute delight. The food is truly the star. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor, prepared with a clear passion for quality. Each plate feels like it’s made with love. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients, and the care in the preparation shines through. Service is exceptional, warm, attentive, and genuine. The staff makes you feel like part of the family, always ready with thoughtful recommendations and a smile.
Had the breakfast sandwich on a bagel- delicious, and perhaps more importantly, the bagel was perfectly soft and airy so the egg doesn't squeeze out when you bite! Probably the best bagel sandwich I've ever had!
The best breakfast sandwich, the desserts are delicious and the coffee is great. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. You can tell they take the time to make the food with love and the right way. Will be back
Loved this cute coffee shop we found during our road trip. I was not expecting gluten free options but was pleasantly surprised. I had their brunch burger on gluten free bread and it was delicious along with the fries. Service was great and the bathroom was very clean.
We stopped here for breakfast during our weekend in the Catskills and I’m so glad we did. I’ve tried a lot of lattes from different places and the lattes from Cafe Marguerite has to be one of the best I’ve ever had. I tried the vanilla and hazelnut latte and both were delicious. They were so smooth and perfectly sweet. We also got a breakfast sandwich and the smoked salmon sandwich and they were great. Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and we had a great experience here!
Cafe Marguerite is absolutely wonderful. The coffee is fantastic, iced or hot. Every time I’ve had something to eat there it has been wonderful as well. The food is fresh and freshly prepared. I love the quiche they make, and I’ve had several of the specialty quiches they have made as well. They also have a very good BLT on a pretzel roll that I get often. Every time I am there, I and my meal with an order of baklava. It’s all delicious!

Stopped in town for a day and had great coffee here (twice!). Patio was so pleasant and everyone so friendly. Definitely stop by here if you're around.

We were here twice during the July 4th weekend, so understandably, the place was extremely busy and crowded. The first time we visited was for lunch. We waited for 25 minutes for our food, while orders were completed for many who arrived after us. When we inquired about our order (three sandwiches, two iced teas), it seemed they had forgotten about us. Our second visit was for breakfast, and the wait for two sandwiches and a pastry was a little shorter - but they forgot to put the pastry in the bag and we had to go back for it. The woman who took our order both times was extremely rude. She was impatient and unfriendly, and clearly just with us. Very off-putting. On the bright side, the weather was beautiful and it was pleasant to sit outside on their patio. We were surrounded by nice potted flowers, and there was French music playing. OUR FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING, and the indigo iced tea was unique and delicious. We highly recommend their ham and cheese croissants and breakfast sandwiches. The croissants are reminiscent of our time in Paris. Hoping to sample more of the menu next time we’re in town.
