Spontaneous stop while at the Farmers Market turned into a really nice, special lunch. Food was delicious (pic doesn't do justice, lol) at a very fair price, loved some local craft beer choices being on tap! The service was friendly and fast, patio seating was delightful and added to a very nice overall atmosphere. Highly recommend, we will be back for sure.
Popped in as I’ve been on a serious Greek kick and appreciated the clean environment and professional staff. The kind bartender kept my water filled (as a cyclist I super appreciate it…gotta stay hydrated on a long cycle!) and answered all my questions. Loved the chicken souvlaki I got but felt super self conscious taking a photo of it with people right next to me (lol). They had a well stocked bar too w Greek wine.
We really like this place after our first visit. Went on a week day around 2pm, do it was not busy. They helped us as soon as we came through the door and we're so nice. Food came lightning fast and was delicious! I must say, the bathrooms was so clean! That says a lot!! But, that frosted bathroom glass door is a bit unnerving. 😃 We sat outside which was heat perfectly. Thanks
Wow this place is such a treat. I would give ten stars if I could. I love the warm tone modern interior design and the bar set up. It’s so comfortable and you really won’t want to leave lol. Superb service. Everyone is really focusing on making everything right and make everyone comfortable it’s meticulously clean and organized. you can tell the owner has an amazing eye for detail. But still the best part is the food. It’s like the most perfect Greek food without having to travel. It’s not overly salty and all the produce is fresh. They go the long step by even charring the tomatoes and meat to perfection which adds to it’s authentic taste. My favorite is the lamb omg it is so juicy and not over cooked flavored just right. You just have to come here and experience this place yourself. I hope that you like it as much as I do. Yes the prices are kind of high but I doubt you would get such an amazing quality if they weren’t. Treat yourself every now and then life is short.
I love this place! It's a cool little spot to get yummy authentic gyros and a glass of white wine anytime of day. I love that they always have sports playing on the tv all the time. I was able to watch the NBA playoffs, enjoy my wine and eat the best Greek food I've ever had! Kudos! Awesome, awesome, awesome. Everytime I visit Conta Costa County, CA I have to stop here. :)
Excellent food, great portions, reasonable prices. Nice place.
One of the best places if not the best place to eat and drink in Martinez, food is amazing and service is awesome
Great food and atmosphere! Had a waitress named Kerry and she was great! Attentive, accommodating and a good personality. We will definitely be back. The hummus is on point!
The food is fresh and tasty, great service. Pretty easy to find street parking. Nice job, Troy.
Troy has great flavorful food & drinks set inside an historic building. Fun spot right in the heart of Martinez
It just doesnt get better than Troy for Mediterranean food. They make the best Lamb Gyro in the state.
Food was great! I ordered Gyros. Was tasty and fresh veggies! At first, just confused about the entrance door coz they have 2 doors after patio. Polite Servers and staff. Clean and descent place. Might try other food next visit.
Loved this little gem! It was raining outside and cold but we still opted for dining on the patio and it was sssooo cozy and warm. Such a cute place. The service was wonderful and so was the food. We'll definitely go back!
Weve been here a few times now and the food is always spectacular! The salmon, both times i got it was perfectly cooked and wasnt dry at all. The rice is very well cooked as well and also has a really nice and interesting flavor to it, like it's not just plain rice. The tomato was SO juicy and flavorful, and it was all just really good. The service was also very friendly and the food came out rather quickly. My lentil soup was also very delicious and and was cooked just right, and the seasoning was balanced. The outdoor seating area is also beautiful and feels very authentic. So yah I definitely recommend this place!
Great food. Went out with 6 people. All were very complimentary of the food. The gyro was awesome. Spanikopita was perfect. Desserts were also sooo good. Baklava and Tuxedo Cake...yum!
Absolutely great food!!! The onions rings on the side were some of the best I've ever eaten. The portion was ample enough to share and so good,I forgot to take a picture until after they were gone!!
Cute little restaurant. Came here last night to celebrate a birthday. I arrived early and managed to get us a table for 5 with no difficulty. Our server was very nice. I let her know that we would be waiting so she brought menus for the whole table. After about 5-10 minutes, people I was waiting for started arriving and she came back to take drink orders. We all got water so she came back with waters. I got a starter for me and my son. The spanikopita was amazing. My son liked it, he hadn't had it before. She came back to check if we were ready to order despite missing a person, I said we may as well order so we did. I got the Caesar salad to split with my son. Two gyros were ordered as well. Eventually she asked if I needed a extra plate for my kid which I said yes to but I guess she forgot as I never got it. We just used the dish from the spanikopita. One of our party finished and wanted a box and the check and the server never came back. It was a good amount of time before she came to check on us again and my friend finally got their box and we ended up all paying then. She let me pay with 2 different cards and let us split checks. Food was good, atmosphere was nice, server was a little absent but very nice. I'd definitely come back for more spanikopita.
I've only ever gotten the moussaka when I go here and it's always been delicious! It's about $16 but very filling. People say the salads are also good. Restaurant is pretty and cozy inside and has a small outdoor patio if you want to bring your dog. Parallel parking available on the streets.
My wife and I were running some errands around Concord. We finished around 2 pm and decided to go play some Bocce in Martinez but first we really needed some lunch. We parked downtown and started to walk around. A lot of the streets were blocked off and some restaurants had utilized some of that space to expand their outdoor seating. One of which was Troy. As soon as we saw Greek food and the outdoor seating we were sold on giving them a try. We're so glad we did. I'll get to the food soon, but first, the server (unfortunately I didn't get his name) was awesome. We talked about the food, the Martinez area and what has been going on, and life in general. He really cares about his customers experience and more importantly his family and the town he lives in. I actually thought he may be part of ownership. Now the food... Wow-! Exceptional-! I had the Kefta Kabob; ground beef and ground lamb seasoned and cooked to perfection. It came with rice, tahini salad, pita, and grilled vegetables. All flavors were on point, the vegetables still had a bite to them and the tahini salad was amazing. My wife had a wrap, I unfortunately forgot to write the name of it down. I had some of that as well and equally amazing. It was really big, full of wonder ingredients and well worth the price, which is actually reasonable. Needless to say, we'll be back again, hopefully soon than later. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. Again, not only for the food but the exceptional service from people that care. With so few good food options in Martinez I'm so glad we have Troy. When were feeling like a hearty meal this is where we go! Their gyros platter with mixed beef and lamb is delicious and not gamey at all and their tzatziki is yum! Also love that they have a gluten-free gyros wrap option. This is one of our Martinez staples.
Big fan of this place when dining in Martinez. Consistent, delicious food with good service and a nice atmosphere and seating areas. The front is welcoming and has a shaded area covered by climbing plants, with tables in the front. The wraps are usually my go-to but all the meals have been fantastic. No wait for a table for lunch in my experience.
Such a sweet gem this little place!!! I absolutely love the vibe here. Ordered a Caesar salad, chicken schwarma and a Greek soda and I was a happy clam! Will definitely be back
This was a very pleasant surprise. I’ve never had decent Greek food in the Bay Area since I moved here 40 years ago! 6 of us had a late lunch/early dinner. Everything was tasty and delicious. I had the lamb souvlaki with a Greek salad. Deelish. We had a selection of appetizers to share. All very good. Service and ambience were great. I’ll go back, even with the drive from Pleasanton. Thank you.

This was a lovely find! In Downtown Martinez with tonnes of places to eat we rolled the dice on the Greek food. Everything was pretty good but we did have to wait for over 30 minutes of the food. One couple came in the same time as us and was served, had their food and paid before we got our food. But when it did arrive everything as well done and tasty! The onions on my chicken platter maybe on the wrong side of charred but I love over cooked onions so I was happy.
Tried this place for the first time this July. Could not have been more satisfied, they have a solid diverse menu and have even made sure to open up extra outdoor seating due to the COVID-19 menace. The food was ready in 15 minutes and its freshness and flavor was off the charts. I enjoyed the beef and lamb wraps. Located on Main Street it can sometimes be difficult to find upfront parking but there is plenty of parking in the surrounding area. Feel free to call in or order online at your discretion. All in all I personally find Troy's to be a welcome addition to our lovely Martinez downtown community and businesses. Dont forget to give them a try for a fantastic lunch or super savory dinner!
Came back to dine in after previous experience with take out. Brought friends. Staff is very friendly. Clean and bright atmosphere. Welcomed us with our two well behaved dogs. Sat in the covered patio. Wood chairs and benches could use cushions. Kind wait staff brought water for our pups and us, which was nice after a long walk. Food was fresh and delicious and authentic; we cleaned our plates even though we probably should have left some for tomorrow's lunch ;). Only disappointment was the baklava desert. At a glance we thought it was a chocolate variation, but one bite revealed it was burnt on the bottom layers. It was a bit of a let down after such a lovely meal. When we brought it to the attention of the staff we thought they might replace the pieces or at least take all or half off our bill for the desert, but they didn't offer. Nevertheless, we would return and bring our Greek family sometime in the future.
A great place to dine in downtown Martinez. It's not "only for celebration" fancy, but the food is really good, and the service is excellent.
Food is tasty and portion sizes are adequate, pricing is fair for the overall quality and atmosphere.
Pleasantly surprised. Best Greek I've had in the area in years. Nice meat portion! And I have a pretty big appetite. Tory liked the patio.
Popped in for lunch. Everything we ordered was delicious. Calamari could’ve been a bit more crispy. The lamb and beef were very juicy and tender. The chicken wrap was super good per usual. Greek fries were also ordered and were hot and crispy, great job! The sauces they provided were a tasty touch to the food. I recommend ordering a pitcher of water for the table.
Nice spot for a good meal. I ordered the gyro plate. Other than wanting them to add more pita bread to the plate everything else had a good flavor to it. Service was slow off the bat but once I ordered my food was out in no time. Small bar area with a decent selection of wine and liquor along with a menu of choice cocktails and about 8-10 beers on tap. Small outdoor patio for those nicer days.
An Amtrak layover for me. First time in this city. A lady at the Chamber of Commerce recommended it to me. Walking distance from the train station. I had the large Gyros. The meat was seasoned wonderfully. Yet, that beautiful meat taste was overcome by excessive lettuce. Thereby, not having as much meat as other places. When I go back I will take off the majority of the lettuce, but I still take issue with the lack of a good quantity of meat. The first picture is after I cut it in half. Another patron had the Greek fries which looked wonderful. I will go back and try them with another dish, but as far as the Gyros, not enough meat for the price. But let me state clearly...what meat was present was absolutely wonderfully tasty.
The food was good. The sauce especially the green one is spicy. Do ask for it as it elevates the dish. The staff is very polite. We had Greek salad, side of grilled salmon, falafel wrap and metza platter.
Our server was fantastic..I forget her name but she had many beautiful tattoos. I would hire her in a hot minute due to her customer service skills. The bloody Mary's are AMAZING. We order the appetizer sampler the lamb kamabur and the kefta shishkabob. All of the food was fabulous I'd give this a 5 star however there was a sewage smell on the right side of the patio...otherwise the lunch experience today was perfect.

Troy was super busy when we arrived on a Saturday night. It took long enough, to be a bit awkward, before we were greeted & told the only seating with out a wait was the counter. I am a bit of a foodie so sitting at the counter was fine by me. (My bf didn't really like the idea) They need way more seating. Took a solid 8+ min to be greeted by server. When we asked about two bottles of wine she had no opinion as she had not tasted them. She did graciously offer us tastes. We ordered the Meza appatizer & I highly recommend it! Our dinners, moussaka & pastisio, on many levels left something to be desired. We asked our seger how to pronounce either of these dishes and she had no clue. Sitting at the counter I noticed mainly kabobs, gyros & salads go out. Am assuming they have to be good. Love that they offer del cielo beer on tap! Baklava should be more layered in my opinion. Overall would like to go back & see if our first time was just a fluke.

Could be so much more. Great space and design, very bright turn down the lights. Had dinner with family the food was okay but could be great
Wait staff was nice, atmosphere is a cute old building with patio seating. Both were great. The food though was really bad. The gyro meat eemed like it was frozen and cooked in a microwave (I think it was cooked on a flattop?) It was also very greasy. The rest of the meal was very blah, lukewarm unflavored rice, tatziki sauce that seemed mostly like unflavorered crema and a mostly onion salad. I'm a fan of small business and try to support them, such often includes but writing a bad review, but the food was really that bad here.
Dine elsewhere for your Greek/Mediterranean. Nice place, great waitress, food not good. $20+ Chicken Souvlaki plate, 1 small skewer (8 small, overcooked cubes), dry yellow rice, half a grilled tomato and two slices grilled zucchini. It simply was good. Did I eat where everyone else ate?
Don't get the braised lamb, it was like shoe leather. The musoka wasn't very good either it felt like the food was cooked a few days ahead of time and reheated in the microwave. They didn't have co2 for the beer and the wait staff is a little slow. I've been twice, the first time it was ok, the second it was horrible. I won't be going back.
