Thank you Cowboy Chicken! Did you know they also cater for Thanksgiving? Well we didn’t know! And they saved our day! Due to our daily hectic work schedules we were not able to plan the day. My son was super sad. Luckily my daughter made a quick call and we were one of the last orders! And well, it was forever the best! And well worth it! Thank you for saving our Thanksgiving Holiday Dinner. 5 stars. I have also been recommending to all my family and friends.

Excellent choice in the McAllen area for anyone looking for a convenient, fast and healthy lunch / dinner option. Service is the fastest I have experienced at any restaurant. Most times you will have your food at the table within 3 to 4 minutes after ordering. The quality and consistency of the food is top notch. I am a creature of habit and tend to order the Monterrey salad (see pictures below) nearly every time I come here. Never been disappointed with flavor or quality of the ingredients. All in all, this is probably my favorite lunch place

I am very pleased with my visit. The service was outstanding, and they were very helpful explaining all of the various options. The meal mostly matched the service as the chicken was well session and the mac and cheese creamy. That banana pudding is the best in the valley. Don't sleep on this spot

Dark Side

First time at this restaurant, the service was great, staff very friendly and I got exactly what I wanted. The cobbler was delicious however it was very small and sad looking. Would come back again and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Great food but it caused two of my family members to be sick and throw up a few hours after eating Please make sure all the chicken and food are thoroughly cooked

My first time trying Cowboy Chicken and it was surprisingly good, the twice baked potaters were the star of my food, they were delicious I'm glad they recommended them to me, I can't say the same for the baked Mac and cheese, they were not that good. The chicken breast was tasty, just slightly dry, the brisket was also good I really enjoyed it, the bread roll was soft and tasty I just wish it came with 2 rolls instead of 1 for the price of the brisket and chicken plate $16. Unfortunately on my second visit I ordered only the brisket and the portion given to me was very miserable, it was so small compared to before (see picture) and this was meant to be a bigger portion as I didn't add the chicken, and the taste of the brisket was just so-so, I wouldn't recommend brisket here.

Ordered some take out and was mildly motivated by the website and the idea of some moderately healthy side choices. Decent dining room and pleasant staff. Ordered a piece of their rotisserie chicken and sweet potato and black beans as my sides. I also had a five piece wing with the honey hot sauce. Appearance was good but taste was dry and horrible. The wings and the chicken breast overall were way overcooked. The wings actually had a gamey taste of all things that even overpowered the sauce. The chicken breast was so overcooked that it was difficult to swallow it down. Clearly some type of GMO cheap chicken there using and it shows. Decent sweet potato and black beans. Overall, food preparation and ingredients in this establishment need major work. Not a fan.

Visited this store 12/5 around 7:15pm with my wife and child. We had a decent meal, 2 half chicken combos and kids plate for our 22 month old. I also paid for a cookie. As we had our hands full at the time of paying with cups, utensils, our toddler and his accessories; I didn’t grab the cookie immediately and figured I’d get it after our meal. Once we finished I went to the counter to get my cookie, the cashier said she had see me take one already. I reminded her that I hadn’t taken one at the time of paying and she doubled down on having seen me take one already. At that point I invited all three employees (2 cashiers) and another who I assume is the manager to review the security footage. To which I was met with incredibly hostile attitudes, further accusations of thievery and an incredibly embarrassing scene in front of other patrons. I offered to pay for another cookie despite having paid for one already and was refused service. My wife, toddler and I promptly left. The, I assume manager, followed us to our vehicle and offered me a cookie a nice gesture but as I was quiet upset told her I really didn’t want any longer but suggested they really do review the security footage if they’re going to accuse someone of theft. As a fellow business owner in the McAllen area I would hope these employees receive better customer service training at best.

Have been ordering the turkey package every year for Thanksgiving. Apparently, without telling me, they switched to precut turkeys. Extremely disappointed, they didn’t tell me that the turkey would be precut. I wonder if others who ordered knew their turkey would be precut. Would have appreciated if they made this clear when I ordered. Happy thanksgiving i guess.

I’ve been ordering delivery from here for years and while their food is still great their customer service has definitely taken a massive nosedive. Every time I call to order they tell me they have a brand new system (literally every single time) and so they have to take all my information down over and over, including info you shouldn’t need for delivering food. I’m starting to think perhaps they’re writing down the credit card information and security numbers for their own use. Beware giving out any info over the phone to these people.

So I liked this place the first time around. But today's customer service was downright embarrassing. First, I ordered a beverage from their fridge that required a bottle opener. Then they can't take it from my hand because I grabbed it, so I must go around the counter myself to open it. Then, I found a long hair across my food shortly after my first two bites. I politely address the concern to my cashier, Avery, and she confirms with whom I assume is a superior cashier. He then asks if I only want the side replaced that had the hair that he saw. I don't understand how you could offer that as a remedy to the issue of the contaminated plate. Sad to say that the red flags kept on piling up. I then hear those same two cashiers joking about whose long hair it was likely. No manager ever came out to note the concern whatsoever. I'm not sure one was even on duty because then I see staff come out sitting by the condiment bar area drinking a Coors beer and chit chatting with all the front staff. This experience just continued to progressively get worse by the minute.
