Delicious tacos and pupusas! Nice to see a spot that also has great veggie options. I ordered a veggie pupusa and a vegan street taco and both came out piping hot and perfectly seasoned. Definitely coming back here.
It may look like your average neighborhood latino hole in the wall, but this is is a great Salvadorian pupuseria. I wandered in with two other people for lunch, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and the aroma of fresh pupusas on the griddle. Nicely display of the menu if you're undecided get the mama cheli's con todo. Their burritos and tacos are great also. Great Pupusas, definitely coming back for more.
I got a bean and cheese pupusa and a carne asada pupusa both were great! 10/10 recommend
I can't remember the last time I actually ordered what I wanted at a Mexican restaurant because I'm lactose intolerant. So glad we found this place that has vegan cheese! And it actually taste good! I'm obsessed 👍🏾 Good customer service and quick service.
had some amazing veggie pupusas and beans. a bit of a wait time even when it seems like there aren’t many people in the store (maybe they had lots of online orders) but overall great if you’re willing to spend a some time there .
My favorite Mexican spot!! Incredible vegan options.
Outstanding!!! So kind and so happy polite. Love the positive vibes and the super burrito is quite DELICIOUS! Home grown cooking, and I asked for double meat on the super burrito and the price was astonishingly wonderful. Great balance of quality and also a terrific place to eat while doing Laundry! 👍👍👍👍👍 definitely coming back
First time I tried pupusas - these were delicious! Classic was amazing, tres quesos also nice, better if you mix and match a few. Served with juicy refreshing cabbage. Pupusas were made fresh in front of us, like everything else. Will be back for more!
Wonderful vegan pupusas and vegan quesadillas. The vegan cheese was so authentic, I had to do a double take haha. Also, the vegan meat is made of seitan, which is really high in protein, yay! The beverage, agua fresca strawberry, was also delicious. The staff is very kind. The atmosphere is friendly. I can't wait to come back here when I'm in the area.
Mami Chelis is a GEM! Cheese with jalapeño pupusa was delicious! Very friendly owner who gives out great recommendations from her menu! Would come back here frequently if I lived closer! YUM!
Only carne asada tacos I'll eat. (Mami chelis taco, carne asada) while your at it, do your self a favor and put a order of churros. Wish they had jarito agua mineral.. I just drank tap water..
One of the few places where when they say spicy, they mean spicy. The food was tasty, and reasonably priced. I'd tried a taco and a quesadilla, and both were cooked well, and the filling was really flavorful. Not a very big place, they maintain it well, it's nice, clean and quiet. The kitchen is very clean as well. Overall, a good option for anyone looking to have nice flavorful Mexican food on the El Camino Real at a reasonable price.
I think that the food is amazing. The portion on the burrito was great and it tasted amazing. Nothing more to say to be honest. Amazing food, great portions at a great price
A lovely place, unassuming, easy location. Tons of options for vegans and vegetarians with vegan soy based meat and vegan cheese. The burritos are packed with goodness and flavor and the price is reasonable, e.g., higher than a Chipotle burrito, but also twice as flavorful and you get to choose which tortilla will be used (we went with spinach) and they grill and toast everything, so it's really fresh, hot and delicious. Vegans rejoice. (There are real meat options here too, FYI)
I was happy with the one vegan taco I bought for $3.21... And I had a free water cup. The owner is nice. Her daughter worked the register. Wasn't too busy when I went in on a Saturday at noon and everything, including the bathroom, was clean. Location is close to Kepler's bookstore. This area is pretty congested most of the time and there are cops everywhere, but if you enter from the neighborhood area and avoid El Camino, it is less stressful imo.
I tried the veggie, asada, and pork pupusas and they were 11/10. These were more delicious than the ones I had in Argentina! Not sure if it's 100% traditional but they were all delicious. Also the shrimp taco was crunchy, fresh, and light.
Great little place with awesome vegan options. Menu is small but everything is fresh and really delicious. Favorites are the vegan pupusas and tacos. The horchata is good but the aguas frescas are excellent especially the strawberry. Service can be slightly slow when busy but it’s likely because everything is made to order. Really nice people working here and the place is always spotless.
Great casual place for pupusas, tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. There are vegan/veggie options for all the items as well. I usually get a regular or super burrito with a spinach tortilla. There is sometimes a wait but I have never had an issue with the food or service. Would recommend!
Great little neighborhood nook. Huge portion sizes!
Yummy place! Got a quesadilla and taco. The vegan meat is quite good. The prices are super reasonable and ingredients are fresh.
Great fresh pupusas! It was wonderful to watch them make them as you ordered as I've always wondered how they were made. Also ordered a burrito for my daughter and it was flavorful and bursting at the seams with ingredients. Recommend for a quick lunch/dinner or to go.
Best Pupusa in Menlo Park (tres queso with jalapeño n Revuelta) Another dish to try is the Vegetarian Burrito Bowl. The Hibiscus n Horchata juice are refreshing
The vegan papusas are amazing! I get them quite often. The employees are always friendly and the food comes quickly. Highly recommend.
Absolutely love the Mexican Vegan options, and the food taste really good. Definitely recommend if you love Mexican Food and want to experience it in. Vegan 🌱 way.
Really amazing Mexican food and margaritas! What more could I want! Also decent prices, a nice outdoor covered to sit and enjoy!

Delicious tacos at a great price! This place is what got me into Mexican food and trying tacos all over the place! They're friendly, prepare the food fast, and I have always had a great experience getting food here. I would certainly suggest it to anyone in the area looking to get a taco!
Finally some authentic Mexican food that offers amazing vegan options! The burrito was exceptionally good – even though I ordered the v super burrito, but ended up getting the normal one! Can't wait to try all the other vegan meals here! Great prices for fresh, tasty food

The street tacos are over priced, at $2.95 but the meat was moist and flavorful. A regular burrito is less than $9. I will try it as my next visit as it is difficult to find a delicious burrito for less than $10 near Palo Alto, which is why I usually go to Redwood City .
One bite into my shrimp super burrito and I knew it was the best I’ve tried in the Bay Area! So delicious and well packed, the pupusas, curtido, and horchata were also great. It was a bit warm sitting inside but nothing that deterred us.
Food was absolutely delicious. Flavor was extremely complex. Portion sizes on the relatively small side almost tapas like. Price is probably the only downside, it’s a touch pricy for the amount of food. Parking outside wasn’t an issue when we went during dinner time on a weekend. Outdoor seating was nice as well.
Really solid place for a quick bite. Food was fresh and well cooked. Holy meat! Let’s say they didn’t skimp on the protein. $13 plus tip to leave with a happy belly. If you want fast service and good food. Miami’s nailed it
Nice warm place to wait for your clothes to dry at the laundromat. Just wanted a quick bite, ordered a steak street style taco. It was okay. Place was quite and clean received my food quickly.
They serve Vegan cheese !!! That’s awesome as now vegans can have quesadillas enchiladas tacos tostadas pupusa all made with vegan cheese. Great place serving quick food. Impressed and happy that they consider Veagns dietary choices. Great work Mami Cheli’s 💛
Finding pupusas in Menlo Park is not easy, so when I saw a few weeks ago this place was opening up I got excited. Today I went there for lunch. From outside, this place doesn't seem attractive but inside you find a modern well-designed cozy place with an open kitchen. I ordered two pupusas and horchata (note: you order at the counter and they call your number when food is ready). Food was prepared very quickly. The horchata was delicious, but it would be better if they add ice as it was not that cold. The pupusas looked like what I was expecting ( see photos) and the taste was good. Things that could improve: As a person that grew up eating pupusas, I know what a good pupusa is-- the inside ingredients (e.g. cheese, beans, pork) are normally well mixed together and distributed evenly in the pupusa....at this place the cheese was on one side, the beans on another and the pork on another side in the pupusa.....although the ingredients tasted good i felt disappointed they were not properly mixed to have a 100% pupusa.-----i hope next time i go it is better :) Also, I was surprised with the pupusa price $4 dollars! Every place in san francisco or south bay area, the pupusa prices are below $3 dollars..... Most items in the menu are mexican food, the pupusas are Salvadorean food.
Cute place with fast service and lots of great options! The tacos were flavorful with the salsa and lime. Beans and rice could use a little more seasoning.

The food here is good and I appreciate the lengths they go to to accommodate vegans. I enjoyed my pupusa with refried beans, it was hot and fresh and not greasy. It came with a sweet watery mildly spicy sauce as well as a lovely little slaw. I also had the taco combo with their signature vegan street tacos. The marinated vegan meat was savory and chewy, but the rice and beans were honestly the best part. The worst part? Paying $5 for a tiny cup of tasteless puréed guacamole.
Burrito was awesome! Came out so good and fresh. Definitely a hidden gem in town. I will be more than happy to stop by next time im in town ! Was a little warm but they turned the AC on and the atmosphere was on point !
The pupusas are very good, piping hot & flavorful. Service is a little slow but worth the wait. The prices are competitive with fast food places but the food is much better.

I wanted some good mexican food. I'm not familiar with the area, was visiting from southern california. Anyways we wanted to go to a different place but made a wrong turn, and somehow ended up at this place. The place looked like itd be ok, mexican music playing, it had the look too. Ordered some tacos, shrimp and asada. When the food came it looked pretty good. Tasted the asada tacos, the meat had no flavor whatsoever. It tasted like somebody boiled it in water and didnt even bother to put salt or anything. It was absolutely a no no. The shrimp taco was nothing special either, other then the flavor of the shrimp it was not enjoyable. I would not recommend this place to nobody. And its pricey on top of it all... Lol
I thought it was a salvadorian restaurant I went for a pupusa because it had a good rating, but the place was clean. The environment wasn't
Quiet, Quaint & Clean I ordered (2) Mami Chei's Tacos each $6.42 coulda used some flar Pinto Beans, Al Pastor, little onion/cilantro, Guac & a flavorless Salsa & A Jamaican Fresca = $19.66 the Tacos should be $3 & Street Taco's almost $2. I mite return to try the Super Burrito & the review would change a little the owner was settin in the corner on her Laptop seemed friendly but for their prices I can make more flavorful Mexican Food @ home. They suggest paying in cash to avoid a service fee if pay with NPC. Give it a try see watcha think.
The pupusas were pretty good, but the slaw that goes with it was lacklustre. The Mami Cheli taco was cold (but not as cold as the service)and not well prepared. She skimped on the cilantro and salsa, Well at first she didn't even add it. I was really disappointed. To me what makes a good taco is that it's hot and has lots of cold toppings. There's a bit of love missing in this kitchen.
Meh food. The pupusas have very little filling, it’s 95% dough. Steak is of bad quality, thin, and overcooked. Burrito was decent but blend. The best thing was the service, nice folks.

A pupusas is really not worth $4 AT ALL. Take it from a fellow Salvadorian and native from Palo Alto. It ain't that good. Go to LA where they are actually $1 AND WORTH IT PLUS THEY ARE HUGE or SF where it's only $2. White people probably own this place which sucks cause any thing that has flavor is too spicy for them and Probably add water as their seasoning. THIS IS NOT AUTHENTIC SALVADORIAN FOOD GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Stop ruining our food.
This the 3rd time I’ve ordered from them and now there’s issues!?! The second time my Postmates driver blamed them for the late arrival. This time I picked it up later than when postmates said it was READY, and they didn’t even know what order I was talking about. That’s because they didn’t even look at it. Mind you it’s shelter in place so it wasn’t BUSY. No excuse. They left out the side for my pupusa, and left off an ingredient on my tacos. Like really? Not going here anymore. SMH
I would not return for the pupusas. Slow service. People were nice enough. No coffee. Pupusas were very thick and mealy on the outside, stingy on the inside. Also stingy with crudite. No tomato sauce, but a tablespoon of ranch dressing. I have had pupusas in many places, and these were the worst. (Well, the ones I made at bome were even worse.). I had high hopes because this is not far from where I stay in Palo Alto. But I will not be back.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I ordered a super burrito asada and I have no idea what they gave me. Took two bites and into the trash it went. Wet asada, tasted like chorizo, almost all the burrito was rice and the beans were not cooked thoroughly. I’m not a food waster but this I couldn’t pass. Terrible overall. Wouldn’t recommend.
I was going to order for an office party and called to check which kind of vegan meat they use and the person on the phone was very rude. She told me she didn’t know which one. I asked if she could check, she said no. I know working restaurants and dealing with customers isn’t great, but no need to be rude and not give information. We were very excited to try this place but I don’t think I’ll ever order from this place after this experience
