I seriously eat here at least 3 days a week. It's to the point they know me and have my food (kolaches and Donuts ready for when I arrive lol)

Im from Houston Texas where shipleys is a huge deal but isn't as much so in dallas. I found out this shipleys was 10 minutes from my house and had to try it. They are just as good as any shipleys I've ever had with a very friendly staff probably more friendly than the one I frequently visited in Houston 5 stars for sure

Best place in mesquite to get donuts or kolaches. Food always taste fresh they cook most the day unlike others nearby . Price is inline with other donut shops. Hot chocolate , coffee and other types of morning drinks offered too.

Love the sausage, cheese and jalapeno roll. Also the fact they have a drive through. Great for those times when theres no time to stop. Donut holes are a fast treat!

Love this place! Same smiling faces who always remember us. We have a dog who goes on Sundays when we go. They always remember him and that he loves his cake doughnut. He's not a fan of most humans but wags his tail hard when he sees his favorite doughnut lady.

Delicious! Good service, love the homey feel of the building. Closes at 1PM unlike a lot of donut shops. Donuts arnt too sweet, fluffy kind donuts. Kolaches are to die for. Jalapeño cheese kolache is my favorite.

Long time favorite of my family. Friendly faces, kolaches with cheese on the sausage, best apple fritters that are made the right way, we love the donut holes and regular glazed. Everything we have tried has been sweet perfection!

Awesome donuts! FYI - when ordering regular glazed donuts, always asked for the freshest one made; they will grabbed the ones they just finish glazing... you will be amazed on how hot and soft the donuts tasted! Don't be surprised when you noticed you already wolfed down half a dozen so quickly.

05/31/2025 - I just found out you can order online using their app and pick up your order at the store. Donuts and kolaches yum. I also feel their blueberry cake donut (my fave) is smaller than before.😞 Tasty doughnuts along with great customer service is a win for me 😁 It's good to know that they stay open until 1pm and they have a drive-thru for convenience. I also found out that they donate any leftover product to a church. Sorry I have no photos of the doughnuts we ordered. They we're devoured 😁👍👍

Being a Dallas native, I was always fond of the Southern Doughnuts chain. That was until I moved to Mesquite. My mind was instantly changed upon driving to work and finding this true gem of an establishment, located right in the center of Downtown Mesquite. I too support the Mom and Pop individual doughnut shops, but I have to confess that if I'm bringing doughnuts to work, or wanting something perfectly cooked, this is the place to go. Friendly staff, fast service - and of course, hot and delicious doughnuts. I invite you to stop by and give it a try for yourself.

Shipley Do-Nuts in Mesquite is my Saturday go-to before the farmers market! Always fresh donuts and fast, friendly service. The employee was very nice. Great breakfast spot, indoor dining, and a clean bathroom.

This is the only decent donut shop in the Mesquite area. Donuts are normally hot and fresh and way better than Krispy Kreme.

I love the fact that they have the long john's here. I'm from Michigan and it has been hard to find them with just creame and not the Bulgarian creame. I rated t HG em a four because I pre-ordered a half dozen and they didn't hardly have the creame in them. I drove 30 kin just to get these tasty donuts. Hopefully the next time I order I'll get a full long John with creame!

Shipley's has the best Do-Nuts period. No other donut place can ever get the lemon field Donuts to taste real good. Most places have tart lemon donuts. Shipley's have their recipe down pat. Service was good 👍🏾 Do-Nuts fresh

They keep a large variety and quantity of donuts available during peak times. They move a lot of business through their doors and drive thru window. It is a good place to stay and eat. The only problem I have is that when dining in, the temperature of the restaurant is heavily influenced by the outside temperature.

Most excellent donuts. Wonderful coffee (except the Styrofoam cups...yuck) Great service and smiling happy people. But that gawd awful drive through bell that you can here all the way in El Paso will keep me from coming back for my ritual Sunday morning coffee and donuts with my best friend. Third donut shop we have tried. We will keep looking until we find one that does not find it necessary to use loud noises to get the attention of employees.

It's a really good place to grab a quick snack. I tried their glazed donuts, cream filled and bunch of other items. It was soft, had a nice warmth to it. Will definitely go back soon!

Donuts are not as fluffy as they once were. They charge an additional fee if you pay by card.

The asian woman at the counter is giant B. Must be an owner, as i cant see how she could still work there with such a disrespecful attitude. The donughts are good and the jalapeno kolache is bomb. Solid food but man that woman is so crappy.

Good donuts kolaches are ok. The Terrell location has the best kolaches. Terrell location also gets you more bang for your buck. Half a dozen split box is 5 dollars here its 8 even though they are the same donuts. Maybe there is opportunity to cross train with Terrell i have no doubt if the kolaches from Terrell came to Mesquite with better pricing they can be as busy as the Terrell location which always has a line inside and outside

I came here and based on the reviews and look I assumed i was gonna be good. Nope, the employee in the front was acting like they where in a hurry and didnt get my order right the took forever to charge me, and then the donut was stale and the kolache wasn't even good. Wont be back.

Not good we ordered kolaches with cheese and jalapeños and got raw dough with a cheese slice for sandwiches along with no jalepenos. Also the dough is not even remotely close to dough used for kolaches and it didn’t taste like one.

This place is usually pretty good and I had been going there atleast twice a week. But last week I had a terrible experience. I pulled up to the drive theu window as usual and waited 2 minutes or so for someone to show up. I reached out to knock on the window and a man shows up and starts yelling at me loudly, "I got it, Sir!". He then rushes and messes up my order and gives me kolaches without jalapenos. The ladies who work there are have always been kind, friendly, and courteous. But this guy's behavior really made me consider whether I should go back.

Ordered 1 dozen donuts asked for 1/2 glazed and 1/2 chocolate. When given my order I get 2 dozen donuts. I let the girl know the order was wrong as I only wanted 1 dozen. She pretty much says I'm stuck with what I got. And that I can give them away since I'm now stuck with so many donuts. Really?? Bad service..will not be going back!

I went today at 9 AM and I expected a good morning donuts but I think they served old food because when o saw the donuts it looks dry and simple and also please get my order right. I asked for 2 glazed donuts 1 kolache with cheese and medium ice coffee and you charged me $8.50 that's pricey, and tops missing a donut that's unacceptable.

Does this location use different products and recipes? The bold jalapeno kolaches are one of my favorite things when I used to regular a location in Plano. The bread was dense and nicely toasted with lots of cheese and jalapeno inside. This location gives you pale, possibly underdone bread akin to an olive garden breadstick with barely anything inside. It's a shame and I'm not sure if all Shipley donuts are like this now but this is not what I remember. The eclair also seems subpar, tasting almost like a gas station donut. This is not what I expect of Shipley especially with the prices.

Absolutely the worst shipleys in DFW. Donuts are never fresh always taste like they were made yesterday. Attendants dont know how to do simple math when giving you change. Just the worst way to start off your morning👎🏾

Shipleys use to be known for good, fresh donuts that melt in your mouth. I’m not sure about other locations but this one is horrible. I have visited on multiple occasions and received old tasting, subpar food. Donuts are never fresh and kolaches taste old. Prices are too expensive for money to be wasted.

You cannot have hot donuts here unless you get here when they open. I asked if they were going to have another batch served hot because I would gladly wait. They said No. I am visiting Dallas from Houston and was looking forward to our hometown favorite donuts. Unfortunately, they are just not good served cold. I had shrugged off the previous reviews thinking maybe that was an off day (or two) when they complained of the cold donuts. I should have believed them and not wasted the trip. I suggest going within the hour they open.

What in the world has happened to Shipley's? Did they change owners or what? I went there this morning for kolaches and donuts and they were horrible! The jalapeno kolaches lacked jalapeno and they were ice cold and expensive beyond belief. The donuts tasted like yesterdays leftovers. I've always picked Shipley's over any other but NO MORE! They aren't worth going to and I should have picked up on that when there was NO ONE in the parking lot. All the people working inside were different from the usual people. I will NEVER go back there again and you shouldn't either!!

I’ve been to this location maybe 4 times total and it’s always the same- the donuts are always cold, the workers are always rude/have an attitude. It’s like they’re having a bad morning so now everyone has to have a bad morning. Idk if the owners are aware but this is why I will always go out of my way to the Terrell location or Dallas location. They have fresh donuts and kind workers.

I spent 2.39 on a kolash that's bread tasted horrible and the size was ridiculously small for the price. I understand shipley's doesn't care. They always leave a message saying sorry you are unhappy. But from what I have read in the reviews, nothing has changed. If that's the same bread they use for their donuts I don't want to try them.

Not the same. Think management has changed. The quality/taste is not the same as it was previously. Does not have the distinct taste of a Shipley's donut. Smaller portions as compared to Ferguson location(chocolate twist is nearly half the size), dough lacks the crispy outside with soft inside and considerably higher prices (nearly 30%).

I really ever put a bad review but this is just something that was very meaningful to me. My wife isn’t feeling very well. I’m trying to get some fresh donuts to brighten up her day just a little and I went in this morning at 5:13 AM to try to get some fresh donuts And the guy told me pretty much go home and put them in the microwave myself. I know it’s nothing crazy. Least you can do is just tell me when the next batch will be ready rather than making me feel like a dick for asking. it was dead, just me in there. I get five ways donuts. They’re all cold. I go back. Ask him if I can get some fresh ones. He tells me they are fresh so I ask him for to warm them up a little bit and he bakes the hell out of them. I take them out the box and they are so soggy. So then I just Ask him for a new set And then he told me to go microwave them at home. my wife really loves this place and she’s always leaving great reviews at these places but this was so disappointing for me.

Oct 25th 2024 - 8am Dont waste ur money here.......this was the First and last time checking this place out. They gave us a refund but this is unacceptable, my fiance almost ate this and could have had some real issues from it either by breaking a tooth or ingesting it, imagine if it was a child.... Manager didn't seem to care and told them to just give a refund, no apology no empathy.....Save yourselves the trouble, yes that's a big ass piece of metal in the sandwich 😮‍💨 never going here again!!
