Opinions de Odyssey Restaurant Mission Hills
I visited The Odyssey for Valentine’s Day, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The restaurant has such a unique atmosphere, and being perched up in the hills makes it feel like a true "destination" spot. The Highlights The Food: We had the holiday three-course set menu, and every dish was truly delicious. Even with the kitchen being busy, the quality of the meal was top-tier. The Vibe: The environment is elegant and romantic. A huge plus was the live music starting right after our meal—it was the perfect way to transition from dinner to a relaxing evening. The View: Even if you aren't right by the window, the sweeping views of the city lights are hard to beat. Room for Improvement The only downsides were the logistics. I reserved my table a month in advance, so I was disappointed to be given a poor seating selection. When you plan that far ahead, you hope for one of those prime spots! Additionally, the service for the food was a bit slower than expected, though the quality of the meal made the wait much more tolerable. Final Verdict If you’re looking for a spot with great energy and high-quality food, The Odyssey is a win. Just keep in mind that on busy holidays, you might need a little extra patience with the timing!
1000/10 Wow, the happy hour was out of this world. Nisandra was our bartender and was making the best cocktails. Tropical Thunder has the perfect amount of rum/piña colada. Great experience. I would 1000% come back. We also had the oysters which were really good and fresh, the spinach dip impressed us, and we ordered the crab cake twice. I’m happy.😊
Odyssey Restaurant A Newly Renovated & Better Than Ever The Odyssey in Granada Hills has been transformed for all the better The recent renovation effort has brought this iconic destination back to life, seamlessly combining its legendary panoramic views of the Valley with an upscale, fresh feel that manages to be sophisticated without losing any of its cozy charm. Select The extensive full bar and wine program is stocked to the brim, the brunch menu boasts a wide array of crowd pleasers that cater to a variety of tastes, for any occasion
Beautiful place and great ambiance! They were having a construction, but even then the atmosphere is still really beautiful, and honestly I couldn't really tell. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable with the menu. Went there for my wedding anniversary, and towards the end they served us a complimentary dessert. This is a great place for special occasions. They also have a multiple banquet rooms for parties.
Been coming here for decades. They've just remodeled to make it similar to Castaways in Burbank (same ownership), service was excellent, NY strip was not as flavorful as expected, but appetizers etc was great. Best views in the san fernando valley for dinner..
My mother and I have been regular to Odyssey Restaurant, for their herb prime Rib and Ribeye It has been my mother's favorite steak option for over 10 years
We recently were engaged and we wanted to celebrate and boy oh boy im glad we decided on this phenomenal place. The staff was super welcoming and they made us feel safe (in today's climate that is hard to feel sometimes) and cherished. The person at the host stand was fabulous. The views are incredible looking out at the valley. Rob our server was all of that and a bag of chips!!! The drinks are post worthy and the food is out of this world. I would recommend the prime rib, the Brussels, and the calamari, the corn bread they have with honey, and the key lime pie!!! We will be back no doubt about it.
We had the most beautiful wedding at The Odyssey on July 16th. 2017—truly the best anyone could imagine! People often remember only a few things from a wedding: the food, the ambience, and the cake—and I can honestly say all three were spectacular. Everything was perfect, from the elegant décor to the seamless service. My only small suggestion would be for the garden in the area where our wedding took place (the smaller venue) it could use a little more love—some areas looked a bit dry and could be more lush and vibrant. A bit of extra gardening would really make this place even more stunning! Overall, though, our experience was magical, and I would highly recommend The Odyssey to anyone looking for a beautiful, memorable wedding!!! Still to this day our friends still mention how awesome everything turned out!
Came here for dinner for a mother-daughter date 🌹🍽️. We ordered the $55 prix fixe menu and overall the food was good. Customer service was wonderful throughout most of the evening, but unfortunately it fell short at the very end. We waited a long time for dessert, and when we were ready to pay because we were heading to a movie, our waitress was at the bar chatting and not checking on us. I eventually had to ask a host for assistance and walked to the bar to pay our bill.
My family and I had an amazing time. We had tried Odyssey's Happy Hour once before (pre-renovation), but this week we tried their more formal dining, partaking in the DineLA lunch. Having lived in Burbank for a long time, we had been to Castaway dozens of times, so we've always been fans of Specialty Restaurants Corporation, and our recent experience was no exception. Before I get into the review, it is very important for DineLA fans to know that Odyssey's Lunch DineLA ends at 4:00pm, not 4:30pm like it says on the website/menu. First of all, the brand-new renovation is modern (in a timeless way) and gorgeous, and of course the views are as breathtaking as ever. Shout-out to the assistant manager Rosie for seating us and for honoring the DineLA menu prices on Odyssey's website (and adjusting the check accordingly). My family and I all ordered the shrimp and the salmon, and both dishes were picturesque, delicious, and reasonable portions. I liked that the salmon dish was a little bit different on the DineLA menu compared to the standard menu: the tomatoes and olives gave the dish some Mediterranean flair. Off of the regular menu, we also tried the four-cheese Mac and cheese, which was creamy excellence - you can't go wrong with gruyere! The server who served us was Jesus, and he did a phenomenal job. Not only was he pleasant but he is also a seasoned professional, having worked in Castaway decades ago (before we even went there!). I'm so glad that the San Fernando Valley has a restaurant as scenic and high-quality as Odyssey 👍🏻
We went to The Odyssey in Mission Hills to celebrate my wife's mom's "Heavenly Birthday", and everything was wonderful from start to finish. The restaurant has been newly remodeled, and it is absolutely beautiful—elegant, modern, and very welcoming. Our server, Chris, was amazing. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. The manager also stopped by our table to check on us, which really showed how much they care about their guests. The service was outstanding, and the entire experience made my wife and the rest of our 13 guest party feel extra special. I highly recommend The Odyssey for celebrations or a special night out!
This place is amazing! Not only is the food Soo delicious, I recommend getting their steak progressive it's an assortment of their delicious steaks with their 4 Mac n cheese. But the views and hospitality of this place is very welcoming. Great for dinner and brunch!! FYI they also host events. My wife and I had our wedding here.
Odyssey’s renovation is stunning and the ambiance alone makes it worth the visit! I was transported to coastal wine country; the vibe is modern luxury. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and every detail felt thoughtful. The J. Scott Creative Atelier installation is absolutely gorgeous and makes for an amazing photo moment. Will definitely be back.
We had a group dinner and the whole experience was wonderful from the food drinks just the whole vibe and being able to step outside and see a really nice view at night. I do wish that I paid closer retention for when the sun went down, however, it was still really nice. The selection of food was amazing and my food was really made well. I would definitely go back there and try some other meat as I had the salmon. I had a few cocktails and they were made well. The various foods I tried had a lot of flavor, the wait stuff was nice, dessert was gone quickly as we shared amongst coworkers! I will definitely be coming back here again, it sounds like they do a lot of events too and run it successful restaurant as it was pretty lively on Wednesday evening.
The food at this restaurant was very tasty, but the service wasn't great. I'd give it a 3 because I asked for a lot of things, like coffee without a spoon to stir it, and napkins which they didn't bring. It seemed like they were serving leftovers. I ordered a rotisserie chicken, and it was tougher than crocodile meat, and everything was cold. Honestly, only my husband's dish, the minion steak, was good. The rest wasn't. The bill came to $352, plus about $400 for tip. I think these places charge more for the "luxury" aspect, not because the food or service is excellent. Maybe it was just my experience, but I didn't like it.
Dined here for our first time and our server, Chris was amazing! Noah was also really helpful! We ordered the Chilled Oysters, the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle Pasta, the Ribeye, Prime Rib and Chris brought us a birthday desert! Will definitely be going back! We also ordered 2 of the specialty cocktails and they were AMAZING!
Girls' night to celebrate two birthdays! Wonderful evening with friends accompanied by delicious food, excellent service by Mina, and beautiful views. There were six of us last Saturday, and here's a little sample of our menu selections. The appetizer of spinach artichoke dip was delicious, and served with warm bread. Complimentary corn and jalapeno muffins, good but a bit on the dry side. Cocktails were an espresso martini, a gin martini, and a spa day cocktail (pictured). Dinner choices included the salmon, wagyu beef, ribs, and sea bass. The sea bass (pictured) was my dish recommended by our server; she was right, this was sweet and a bit savory. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the black Thai rice was better than I expected. I highly recommend this dish if you like a flavorful, flaky fish. My friends all raved about their dishes as well, not a complaint across the table. We ordered one side of macaroni and cheese, and this was a favorite. Lastly, we shared a few birthday desserts of lava cake, leche, and pudding. Yum! Nice local restaurant with plenty of parking, friendly staff, suitable for celebrations or date night. I recommend making a reservation to help enhance your experience, a quiet corner, or perhaps dining under the market lights of their patio.
Everything was exceptional. The drinks, service, and food were top-notch. We had a table by the window, and the birds eye view of the San Fernando Valley was phenomenal. Highly recommend the Crispy Brussels Sprouts for the appetizer. The Ceasar salad was one of the best I've ever had. I think it had roasted capers that were a nice surprise. For the main course, we had the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle, 8oz Filet Mignon, and the Crispy Whole Snapper, which was next level deliciousness
The view was absolutely beautiful! Our server's name was Macy and she definitely deserves a raise!! Very knowledgeable of the menu, very nice and she made sure we had everything we needed! We ordered the Prime Rib, Filet Mignon, Truffle popcorn chicken and the Mango Habanero Shrimp. EVERYTHING was delicious!
This restaurant was the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. Located in an elevated area, it offered a stunning night view, making the dining experience even more memorable. The atmosphere was elegant and lively, and it seemed to be a popular spot for birthdays and other important celebrations, as there were several other birthday guests that evening. The menu featured a variety of options, including appetizers, salads, oysters, steaks, and non-steak dishes like pasta. I ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts, a tomato salad, and two different kinds of steak. The complimentary bread served before the meal, paired with butter and pink salt, was absolutely delicious. Every dish I tried was flavorful and well-prepared. Our server, Nancy, provided absolutely outstanding service! She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Her warm and professional attitude made the experience even more enjoyable. Huge thanks to Nancy for making our night extra special! Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I would definitely love to come back!
Delicious food and great views whether you dine inside or out . I have visited this restaurant quite a few times and my latest visit I requested a table outside . We requested a heat lamp and they brought one right over to our table and it made a chilly January evening feel like a nice summer night. Such a beautiful evening . The steaks are great . Our server Macy was so kind , she was quick to answer any questions we had about the menu and was very attentive .

It was our first time here we celebrated our fourth year anniversary with friends party of four. we made a reservation days before and we ask for table by the window (confirmed )when we got there the front host station guy (very rude )with the curly hair. He said they don’t have a table 1st come first serve literally !! They serve as the first point of contact, creating a positive first impression and ensuring a smooth start to the dining experience. We didn’t get the positive impression, unfortunately. our server was very sweet lady. Food was good. We enjoyed it.And also since they are serving seafood they need to make sure that the glasses doesn’t smell like a fish not pleasant smell when you want to drink a bottle of water. And please fix your chair. Thank you
The view from our table by the window was spectacular. The service was quite attentive, and the food was generally good; we enjoyed the wedge salad, crab meat appetizer, prime rib, and chicken dishes. I did not care for the mushroom pasta, as the cream sauce was rather heavy. Although our group was aware of the restaurant's closing time, the staff were very gracious in allowing us to stay later. Their cordiality was appreciated.

I made a reservation for Saturday night dinner for 3. When we got there we found out that they’re renovating so it’s first come first serve. Perhaps they should make it known, should I knew this I would not go there. The menu and the drink list looks very well put together on paper.. We tried 2 of the specialty cocktails, they were easily top worst drinks we had in the past 3 years. Sent mine back and ordered a tequila and grapefruit juice, can’t mess that one up right? Wrong. Sent it back ordered tequila neat and an old fashioned instead for my wife , you can’t mess that up. Food was decent, but not not even meet a general expectation. Our waiter tried his best, but it’s not his fault. Oysters were good, I liked the mango habanero shrimp, decent spinach dip same for the ahi tuna poke. The wagyu pink brick fell way short of any expectation, priced at $36 honestly felt like a ripoff. Still ended up paying for one of their specialty drinks. Might give this place another try once they’re done with the renovations. Until then good luck. A very generous 3 star rating here, just because Jesus tried his best.

You know Odyssey Restaurant, right? That long-standing spot in Mission Hills. Well, if you haven't been in a while, it's time to rediscover this local gem. A recent remodel has absolutely transformed the place, and honestly, it’s one of the best improvements I’ve seen in a long time.
