Hearty and tasty portions! Great for some good ol’ fashion breakfast! Our server was a little surly, though- she didn’t check in on us and when I finally got her attention, I politely asked for milk for my pancakes and coffee refill, and seemed annoyed by my request. Still, worth it for the amazing food!
My favourite & first stop when I arrive from Australia. Love Leroy’s
If you're looking for a good old fashioned family owned alternative to a Denny's with good food and friendly service, Le Roy's is a great option. I like a good old fashioned diner and they seem harder to come by these days, but this place hit the spot for me on that. Have been a few times and they are consistently good. It's worth the wait they sometimes have (as they are popular)!
If you are looking for a great place to get breakfast or lunch in the heart of the Arcadia/Monrovia area, LeRoy' is a great place to dine at. This quaint restaurant is reasonably priced, with attentive and personable servers. The food is very tasty and with generous portions, served rather quickly too. I ordered their Reuben sandwich, an excellent choice for lunch. This is a large and savory sandwich, and I was able to take half of it home and enjoy seconds for dinner. The place is always adorned with seasonal decorations, reflecting the attention to detail and hospitality the establishment seeks to provide. It is not a large restaurant, but there is counter space, booths and regular table sitting to provide you with that hometown diner experience. Very impressed with the place!
This is a great little place to eat. Old small town feel where everyone working has a smile on there face and they all work together. Tables are a little close together but that adds to the home town feel. They do have outdoor seating that is covered and the tables outside are further apart. The food is plentiful and good. We really enjoyed the tater tots for breakfast. You will not leave hungry here. I highly recommend stopping by for breakfast even you you have to wait it will be worth it.
Recommended by others and did not disappoint. Hostess, waiters, and service were all great. The food was delicious and the speed from ordering to delivery was unbelievably short
We had a great time visiting today the staff were friendly and the food was amazing
Excellent home style cooking and service. Yesterday's omelette was big and perfectly cooked. Home style potatoes were good but onions and green bell peppers were more of a topping instead of cooked together. Added crisp bacon as a side was great and again properly prepared as requested. Coffee is weak. Service bully Jo was excellent and attentive.
Great family atmosphere, large servings, old fashion looks, friendly ang great service.
Very good food, Old School style with Classic combinations. The Pancakes are big, fluffy and taste awesome. Eggs any way you like them and well prepared! Bacon thick cut with good texture, taste and crispiness, and the sausages are tasty too. Hashbrowns crisp on the outside, yet soft not mushy inside. Orange juice good, can't remember if it's Fresh Squeezed, not a Deal Breaker. Normally a significant wait time, however we Called ahead, Table of 3 (15 mins quote). We arrived and were seated almost immediately. The restaurant was Packed, yet food arrived in a timely manner, and hot! Service friendly and responsive, not overbearing. The Staff allows you to eat at your leisure comfortably. Checking in at appropriate intervals. Prices very affordable, portions extremely generous. To Go boxes for everyone! Yes Le Roy's name means "The King", and that's how you are treated! 5 Stars and my Highest recommendation.
This is a legit diner. The food is nothing fancy but delicious, the service is quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is what you would expect in a neighborhood diner. Solo diners were seated at the counter and they were having polite conversations. You don't feel like a sad lonesome person. There were a lot of groups eating there too. A family was paying their bill and the server asked mom and dad if their little boy finished all of his breakfast. Only after the parents agreed, the little boy was offered a lollipop. Great friendly staff and the guests felt welcomed. I got the Pancake Breakfast Combo that came with 3 HUGE pancakes, 2 eggs, and 3 bacon strips (or sausage). It's a lot of food. I could've ordered the smaller combo with a 2-stack but that would have been still a lot for me. The food came out quickly. You can tell the servers have a great rapport with the kitchen crew and changes or adjustments to orders were handled efficiently. I highly recommend this place. Next time, I'll definitely bring others with me. There is a parking lot but it can fill up quickly. No worries tho cos there is also plenty of street parking around.
I have been coming here for years. I love this place. Great coffee.
This is what Dennys and IHop think they taste like. The food here is excellent. They use seasoning and the food actually comes out hot. The restaurant is on the small side but sitting at the counter was a great experience. And the price of the food matches the amount that they serve. Definitely come here.
It was my first time here and I went specifically for biscuits and gravy but they were sold out. So I tried their eggs Benedict and WOW they best Eggs Benedict I have ever had. I sat at the counter top so got to see how fast pace this place is and it was great! Coffee was great! I definitely want to go back for my biscuits and gravy:)
Breakfast was delicious. Thank you Sharon.
Le Roy's in Monrovia is a fantastic place to have breakfast and lunch. The staff is so friendly and the food is delicious. They recommend the Greek omelette and it was epic. With their special tater tots and house-made salsa unbelievable good. This is a restaurant on the top of my list. I highly recommended this restaurant.
Service is always great. Very seasoned servers. Wait times can be long on weekends. The food is very good Americana breakfast and lunch menus. I highly recommend the crispy tater tots. Counter service is available. Can be a small squeeze inside but they do provide very large outdoor seating area. It is only open for breakfast and lunch. It closes at 3 PM
Great family-style restaurant, all kinds of delicious breakfast choices, friendly atmosphere, kind, helpful waitresses. Good location on Huntington Drive, just before the 210 freeway.
One of the best breakfast and lunch places around San Gabriel Valley. Portion is large and the quality of food is superb. The pancake is as large as the plate. Fluffy but not soggy. The omelette is juicy and flavorful. Tastes great with salsa. The toast is ordinary but toasted just right. Not over-buttered. The tater tots are the best. Crunchy on the outside, soft inside. It is bigger than other tatertots I have eaten.
You're missing out if you don't go here! Food was hot and fresh. I got the French toast combo which is super reasonably priced! Staff was friendly and it was so festive for the fall season! Be sure to SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS because we only have a few left like this in the community. You should also he TIPPING generously as the food is so inexpensive here and such good service. Lots of space in their dedicated parking lot and you can't miss the giant lion Le Roy's sign above. I also REALLY appreciate they still had decaf coffee for me at 2 in the afternoon! I can't do caffeine anymore but I love coffee. I'll be back SOON.
Great staff & great kitchen. Every time I come here it’s a wonderful meal & company. Order anything & enjoy.
Great service and good food with large portions. The rye toast was on point and the homemade salsa was a great addition to the home fries.
Was dropping off the dog at daycare and was like I haven't had breakfast in a while so I went all LEEEEEROY JENKINS to this place. It was great, really friendly atmosphere with a lot of regulars, felt a little off sitting with a bunch of them. The cold brew really surprised me though, I was not expecting cold brew this good from a diner. It was better than the coffee shops I've been to. They don't specialize in coffee yet it's that good, so you know the food is going to be good.
First time visiting. Great service, great flavor, good size portions. Will definitely going back.
Saw this restaurant that caught my interest on social media one day. After serving the lord at church on a Sunday, I decided to take my wife and step son to Le Roy's to give it a try in Monrovia California. My impression, it felt like I was back in time with that old kitchen country style, make you feel right at home kind of place to eat. Everyone seem friendly and enjoying their meals with families and friends. The employees are the best!. Can't say enough about this place. They are only open from breakfast to late lunch, but worth it. The menu had lots to choose from and you will feel satisfying once you walk out with a full smiley stomach 😋. I would definitely go back again!. You have to give it a try!😃
We were in the area and decided to go to Le Roy's. We used to go there when our Grandson was in his car seat. He's turning 23 on the 22nd of this month. The place hasn't changed. Delicious food, friendly service, still crowded (it was Saturday) definitely worth the wait. 😋
My son took me to this diner. It was my first time. It was amazing, the food, the service, especially the two waitresses that served us. Thank you to those servers. Everything was amazing. I will definitely be coming back!
Local favorite! Serving Breakfast all day! In or outdoor seating. This place is everything you're looking for in an old diner. The 5 star atmospheree rating is because of its originality and keeping it that way for many years. Down to earth place and staff, very helpful and very friendly. We got the following: Triple Decker Chicken Club Sandwich Chicken Fried Steak Belgium Waffle French Toast
Great little diner in Monrovia "Le Roy's"❤. Saw it on IG so we gave it a shot. I think they specialize on the their tater tots because they catch your eye when you walk in. They had a lot of people waiting outside so that is a clue that it must be good. You can seat yourself at the diner counter or wait to be seated inside or outside. I had a BLT with a generous portion of crispy tots, hubby wanted breakfast. He enjoyed his pancakes, eggs and bacon. And to go, I ordered their coffe cake. Go hungry because they are generous with their portions. We are definitely returning and bring the family. It great little spot.
Very nice place, great service great food!! The selection was good, I liked that I could get B&G instead of toast, but it was just ok, nothing great. But our food was good and the potatoes were fantastic! Had enough food for breakfast the next day! The omelettes were cooked good lots of stuff in them.. The sourdough bread was delicious . Coffee was great as well. Wife loved the salsa with breakfast also..a nice added touch.
We drove out from West LA this past weekend specifically for this diner and are all happy that we did so. Open since 1974 it’s quite famous on the diner circuit and has served many people using Route 66 and now the 10 freeway over the decades. As you would guess, Le Roy’s is a traditional diner, although I would classify it more as a local country diner. It’s fairly small on the inside but very homey. They have many different seating options from booths to tables to counter seating. All the seating is indoors so if there is a line, be prepared to wait a bit to sit. They have a parking lot attached out back otherwise street parking is easy to find in this part of town. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered arrived very quickly. Pricing is also very fair it was about $110 for a party of four. For my first visit, I wanted to try a diner classic so I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and loved it. The meat was not overly fried and the portion sizes were very generous. The eggs were also cooked perfectly to my order and I really enjoyed the dish overall. It’s the sort of place that is usually filled with locals so I would really classify it as a local hidden gem. I definitely plan to be back next time I’m in the area.
Le Roy's in Monrovia is a hidden gem for anyone who loves a hearty breakfast. The portions here are beyond generous, making it a perfect spot if you want to start your day with a full stomach. My daughter ordered the Pancake Combo, which typically includes 3 pancakes, bacon, and eggs. To our surprise, she was served 5 pancakes along with the eggs and bacon—an enormous portion that was way too much for her to finish, but she loved every bite. My wife and I both ordered eggs with either bacon or sausage, and the food did not disappoint. The eggs were cooked exactly how we like them—well-cooked with the yolks broken, which isn’t something every place gets right. The quality of the ingredients really stood out, making for a delicious and satisfying meal. The service at Le Roy's is top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also really inviting. It has a cozy, warm vibe that makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. If you're in the Monrovia area and looking for a great breakfast spot, I highly recommend Le Roy's. Whether you’re in the mood for classic breakfast fare or something a bit more substantial, this place delivers on all fronts.
Excellent down home breakfast. Love these types of homie restaurants. Had the biscuits and gravy, bacon and eggs with the home fries. Large portions served. When they ask if you would like some homemade salsa, say yes, perfect compliment to the home fries. Staff are super welcoming and friendly.
Le Roy’s is my favorite American breakfast eatery. I’ve been coming here infrequently over the last 8 years and everything is always delicious. This last visit I noticed the chicken fried steak wasn’t on the menu, but after inquiring they still make it as an off menu item. I was only looking for the chicken fried steak and french toast but I guess I had to order a whole meal and add on the french toast as a side? It was much more food than I wanted. The tater tots are not worth mentioning, imo they were too well done for my liking. The french toast was delicious and I wish there was more. Pancakes and eggs were good too. Chicken fried steak was also delectable covered in gravy goodness. I enjoyed dining outside in the fresh air and open space.
The best tater tots ever. Pure crispy… brown & crispy on the outside, hot yummy potato on the inside. I had the hobo sandwich with homemade coleslaw. Sour dough bread ham, turkey, Swiss cheese, I eliminated the American cheese, tomato & lettuce, and filled it with the yummy fresh crispy coleslaw. No soupy wilted sugary coleslaw here. My son had the Monte Cristo with raspberry jelly (delicious) & tater tots. Lastly my friend had Chicken Supreme sandwich with Ortega chilis & Swiss cheese, side was tater tots. The portions are very generous, We all had to get boxes for take home. Everything was scrumptious and service was great. Full menu & I’m sure everything is equally good. This place is always full, breakfast or lunch you cant go wrong. And, I can’t believe somebody gave a bad review stating the portions were TOO LARGE 😂😂😂😂😂 and she won’t be back 😂😂😂😂😂. What a miserable person 😂😂😂
Finally went here to have breakfast and glad I did! I ordered the pancake combo and the food was delicious! The 3 pancakes were huge and light and fluffy! You also get 2 eggs and 3 sausages or bacon. I chose the sausages. They came a little cold, but warm enough were I didn't complain. The atmosphere of the restaurant was like going back to the 70s! The staff was friendly and I got my food in a timely manner granted the restaurant was busy. I'd recommend giving LeRoy's a try. Cool atmosphere, good food, and great staff!
Amazing place to come and eat some delicious food. The place sends you back in time. The quality of food is definitely worth it. If you come, you need to try the cold brew coffee and the deep-fried Twinkie Sunday; it’s a little sweet, but it’s worth the try.
This was my first time here and the food was EXCELLENT!!! I ordered the Meat Lovers omelette that comes with tator tots and toast (my choice was white bread). I would definitely eat here a 10/10 experience!! Le Roy’s you have my respect and forever recommendation!! My omelette was beyond DELICIOUS!!

Very expensive. $23 for omelette and coffee. Added items to omelette but still way overpriced. Every one keeps raise prices blaming cost and still blame covid.
Great place for comfort kinda foods. Longtime establishment. Counter seating or booths.
Le Roy's is a small popular classic American diner restaurant located on W. Huntington drive at Monrovia. It's clean, organized and well lit. We came for Sunday brunch and sat by the counter. Weekends typically have a wait list unless you arrive early in the morning. Interior atmosphere was welcoming and has a nostalgic vibe. Indoor and outdoor patio seats available. Staff was attentive, competent and professional. Service was moderately fast. We ordered coffee, buttered wheat bread, veggie omelette with five sliced tomatoes and wheat french toasts. Their coffee was brewed perfectly and taste good. Similarly, veggie omelette and wheat french toasts were tasty, soft and flavorful. Prices were fair and competitive with huge serving. Ample of parking space. Overall, we had a good experience and we highly recommend this diner restaurant.
The portions for the amount of food were correct coffee was good does sauce need to use fresh tomatoes you can tell the difference when you can tomatoes. Coffee with decent priced overall the food was price well. Just a little comment the food like a little bit of flavor I went on review from a reviewer to see for myself. Just an idea senior discounts always work in your favor. I will say this pancake was good. What I do like is everybody pitched in
This place has really good breakfast. You get your bang for the buck. And serve is good. Buy it get busy when it opens and they open at 530am it was almost a full house. I can imagine how busy it gets on the weekend. The place has a old school look & feel to it. Waitresses are nice. They have a good lunch menu too from what I read. It was my first time there and I will be coming back with the fam bam. You can choose tater tots. Yum
Part of the Monrovia establishment. This popular neighborhood cafe has been a stable of this city forever. We have been coming here for old fashion American breakfast for as long as I remember. After shopping for Turkey for a Friendsgiving dinner at Sprouts, we decided to have breakfast here. It was a surprise that we didn’t have to wait to be seated. The people here are very folksy. So we just help ourselves and find a table yosit down. The service was very friendly and quick. We put in our orders and the food came out in less than 15 minutes. We order our usual breakfast burrito and Belgian waffle with eggs. The burrito was quite good with chorizo and egg. This is everyone’s favorite. And then the waffle is good but not perfect like the ones at Russell’s. They could have make the waffles a bit more crispy. But for comfort food, this was good enough for us. The restaurant is a bit short handed so the swift service was a surprise for me. I have a lot of respects for the waitress working hard to serve their customers. It’s not easy to be in the service industry right now.
Came in for breakfast got the biscuits and gravy and the Denver omelette. The Denver omelette was really good. The cottage fries were good. Could I used a little bit more crispiness on the potatoes but all in all delicious the biscuits and gravy were in edible. The service was not so great and we never got checked on. Maybe once I would’ve ordered something else but since nobody checked on us, I didn’t wanna sit there and wait and wait and wait for another breakfast. I did take the potatoes so I’m gonna heated them up and that was great 10 out of 10. Recommend checking out this location. I will definitely go back their lunch. Menu is much better. It was decorated super cute for Easter and we didn’t have to wait for seating. The coffee is OK. parking is kind of difficult but definitely worth it. They have outdoor seating and indoor seating we sat inside.
We went here one morning to find our what all the hype was about. The staff are very nice. The decor is cute. Give homey vibes. I got the biscuits and gravy. Not really impressed. It tasted like the biscuits weren't cooked all the way and the gravy tasted as if it was lacking the sausage drippings. That would have made it taste better. My girlfriend felt the same way about her meal. I won't give up on the place. I'm willing to come back and try something else.

Great breakfast, more than enough food. Service was great and a really cute place and decorated to the max for Christmas.
Delicious and big portions. Good amount for sharing. Your money goes a long way. Setting is casual. Service fast and just like any other places. Miss this place.

First Time visit to a little restaurant that does breakfast and lunch since 1957. And it's still very much the same inside. And they certainly don't cheat on the portions. Excellent service by a well tuned staff.
The stars are for the pancakes and bacon breakfast burrito. Service was tolerable until the waitress served my mom scalding hot coffee with no warning (burnt my mom’s mouth) and then proceeded to spill water all over my mom. No apology initially just a “so grateful it’s JUST water”. Granted it was an accident but the unapologetic response was shocking and left a bad taste.
Weak coffee & burnt toast. Friendly staff the only plus. Very worn decor - minimally clean. Portions overlarge - wasted food. Won't be back.
Food-was okay…26$for bacon eggs hash browns and a biscuit with cold gravy that has pink meat mixed in…no thank you. You can tell the gravy isn’t made from scratch and the grease used to fry those hash browns…old. The biscuit is not a buttermilk biscuit but it was yellow indicating plenty of butter. I’m from the south so maybe my expectations were a bit high but for the price and quality I would not recommend. Waitstaff was nice to me but not the elderly man sitting next to me… one lady…tall blonde facial expressions clearly showed irritation with the man, who was simply asking questions about the menu. She showed her impatience but overall if they were not as busy the food might have been better. I was just excepting a different taste and hot food. I will not be back. But it is a very popular spot so if you want definitely stop by and check it out. You might like it…I personally did not.
Not bad... not fantastic but not bad. Big serving of French Toast that 2 people can share for sure! The breakfast special doesn't seem to come with hashbrowns but I may have missed it on the menu. The place is small and dated...could use a small make over but I guess that keeps it old school. And our server wasn't anything special. She was basically going through the motions. Overall it's a place you should try at least once.

Small portions, Food was bland and so was the service. Not up to the hype that’s talked about. First and last time bit at least I can say we tried it
We came here on a Sunday morning for breakfast /lunch. There were three of us and we ordered omelets and a club sandwich. I had the club sandwich. The thing that ruined the club sandwich for me was the cheese. It was supposedly cheddar cheese but it very much tasted like and had that texture like the kind of processed cheese slices that you get individually wrapped in plastic. It ruined the entire sandwich for me. I did enjoy the cottage fries though. It was my first time ever hearing of them or trying them and they were great. One of the omelets also had that terrible cheese and it somewhat ruined that dish as well. The service was okay. Nothing great but they were doing their best because it was a busy morning. It's a very small restaurant and you will probably hear the conversation from the tables nearby. This is definitely not the kind of place where you have an intimate meal. It's safe to say that I will not be returning to this restaurant.
My dad's steak was supposed to be well done. He got a rare steak with blood all over his eggs. Gross af!! They took it back and when we got it again still blood. I told them if we can get it cook…
Worst breakfast I have ever had. Sat at the counter with a clear view of the kitchen. Watched the cooks reaction when clearly burnt toast was returned it was as if the waitress was afraid to tell him. Then our breakfast was served gravey was stone cold, eggs uncooked, potatoes with onion and peppers uncooked. Absolute trash.
First time visiting and I was disappointed. My family and I had not fully taken our seats when the waitress was already rushing us to order drinks. We explained we first had to look at the menu. She became annoyed with us. She was rude throughout the whole time we were there. Food was basic. Probably could have been a better experience if waitress would have been professional.
The breakfast was delicious, but....i ended up having a mild food poisoning.
I really wanted to enjoy this spot, but unfortunately the food just didn’t hit the mark. Everything I tried was incredibly bland and lacked flavor. The presentation was fine, but the taste just wasn’t there. Hoping it was an off day, but I don’t see myself coming back.
Horrible breakfast! Dehydrated sausages, runny eggs. I asked for medium. Waitress laughed, when I said it was Horrible and I wont be back!
We had a horrible experience and would never return. My son has autism and eats only certain foods so when we go out we bring him his food. He ate most of his food before we even arrived at leroys he only brought the container his food was in and his drink. A very rude manager said we couldn't dine in with outside food for my son. I explained my son had autism and how 4 adults would still order there and showed her he was done eating. She had zero empathy or understanding to the situation and continued to tell me that I needed to understand their rules which I did and asked her to understand our situation. She continued to tell me next time we wouldn't be allowed in. After that we waited for nearly 30 minutes to be waited on until we had to get up to get someone to take our order. We then waited for an additional hour if not longer to get our food. The food was whatever not great at all. We sat near the backdoor where they have bins with the dirty plates and waiters would come and throw plates in there and splashed my arm with some liquid from the dirty plates. The restaurant itself was very beat up and not well kept at all. Overall a bad experience. There is 1000% better restaurants close by.
The service is horrible. The waitresses seem to hate their job and they act like you’re asking for too much when you ask them for a refill or something simple. They need to go to a customer service class or get another kind of job.
Heard good reviews about this place, but honestly I did not like it at all. Ordered Toator tots with "chilli", it was greasy, and had a wierd taste like it was cooked in day old grease or something. Ordered the pastrami melt, bread was soggy. Wasn't a fan of it at all. Sure, the restaurant is decorated nicely, staff is nice. But sorry the food that we ordered, thumbs down . 1 star for the food (only thing that was good was the OJ and maybe the fries 🤣), 4 stars for the service. Not a place I would come back.
Food was horrible. This place is absolutely packed of people all the time and food is diabolocally horrible. Sausage was undercooked and cold as if it was microwaved and pulled out ahead of time. Steak was bland and tasteless. I have no idea why it's so overhyped. We paid with cash at the register and the cashier purposely gave us change in big bills only so that we had no other choice but to tip big. That was extremely annoying with some passive aggressive attitude. Please go elsewhere, I don't recommend to my worst enemy. I was starving and left hungry and annoyed. 0 stars.
