Now, I have been a resident of Brooklyn for almost 35+ years, but I grew up in the area. Took a random day trip to Monticello with friends, and before returning home, we stopped at this beloved little diner. The food was delicious, the portions were large, and the service was full of hometown love. No place like home.

Small diner ate here for breakfast. And TBH was kinda shocked at the prices. I’m so used to NYC prices and this place was affordable. Family ordered banana walnut pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, big breakfast - 2 French toast, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 sausage links. Also had coffee and lemonade. Everything was great. Lil man loved his chocolate chip pancakes. Heads up the pancakes are huge. We ordered a short stack (2 pancakes) for each kid and they couldn’t finish them. Wait staff was super friendly and attentive. Sat us down right away and took our orders. Good came out quickly. Inside was typical diner sitting. Nothing special or off. Wouldn’t mind coming back for breakfast again if we’re in the area.

Recently moved from Florida to Monticello let’s just be honest this place speaks for itself the food the service the community so glad to be here. This was the first place. I’ve went to eat after Moving and I’m glad we did. This place is GEM fantastic

We’ve been coming to Miss Monticello for years, and it never disappoints! The service is always warm and welcoming, and the food is consistently delicious. The staff makes you feel right at home in a friendly, cozy environment. It’s our go-to spot whenever we’re in town. Highly recommend!

I wish I could give them more stars. My family went to the kartrite resort and stopped into this adorable diner for dinner on our first day. Everyone LOVED it there. We even returned the next day before coming home. The waitresses were incredible and the food was out of this world!!

After a few years of marginal to poor diner experiences we go into them with low expectations but this place not only exceeded those it blew them out of the water. The food is very good, the portions are for real sized people with real appetites and the prices were surprisingly good. We were there for both breakfast and dinner over the course of two days and both meals were great. The service is quick, the servers are very friendly and the manager on duty (owner?) was also very friendly and attentive. We have added this to our list of places to stop when we're traveling through the area and we will be back for sure.

This is a very good place to eat.Very good portion,very generous.Wonderful food,the eggplant 🍆 is out of the world delicious.Sprimp and grits is very good.Big sprimp.We stop here offen.Never been disappointed.Friendly staff,helpful.I would give this Restaurant a 10.And prices are reasonable for all you get.Bathrooms are clean,the whole place is clean.

Loved this place! Swung through during my travels since I was staying in town for the night. It wasn't very busy at all and they were still super fast and always doing something. No sitting around at this place! I enjoyed the atmosphere and short conversations I had with the wait staff. Oh, food was great too! I had the lox & onions omelette and a killer slice of apple pie for dessert. Menu is massive. I spent a long time looking through it.

Have been here twice back to back and I'm so impressed. I travel with my job and stuck eating out all the time. I got the chicken parm the first day, the breading and sauce was great and today fajitas, yes fajitas at a "dinner". Best fajitas I've gotten in a long time. The portions are big as well. The staff is so friendly. I recommend this place if you want a great meal at a reasonable price with a cool dinner atmosphere. And they have a nice beer selection and the menu has something for everyone. Love this place already.

Nice spot. Nothing fancy just nice people and good food. Ordered a blt and the country fried steak with mash. Everything was spot on. Prices were great. Don't have to pay an arm or a leg for good food. We didn't have to wait to be seated but the place did get busy fast.

A classic American diner spot only a 10-minute Uber from Resort World Catskills I was pleasantly surprised by this diner. The interior beauty harkens back to the classic American dining experience with a hint of extra class found in the wooden liveries and warm lighting. My coworkers and I came in for a late lunch and had a seamless experience that came with well informed recommendations on the menu from the polite waiter whose name unfortunately escapes me. The food was excellent, a healthy mix of classic Breakfast diner options with other home stay meals that were very fair portions for the price.

Loved the experience here with our fairly large party of 17 people! We got hungry for lunch after a hike in the area but were unable to agree on a single cuisine. Decided to try this diner after reading the reviews. Lots of options - everyone found something they like, from bison burgers 🍔 to rice and lamb shank 🐑 to Korean steak tacos 🌮 to grilled haddock over rice 🐟 to wraps to breakfast fare. Highly recommend the Korean tacos and the lamb shanks, they stood out with their beautiful executions. Would love to return!

Looking for a place with a variety of foods with my dining party. Diners are always a good choice because there seems to be something for everyone. Of course, the question is if the food is good. Well, I can confirm it is. The place is a little small, but not uncommon for some diners. But, we were seated quickly and the service was decent. Most importantly, the choices for breakfast were good. I had a delicious omelet with potatoes. I don’t often go out for breakfast. But, the food her was quite tasty. Prices were reasonable compared to other places. A definite consideration for me the next time I’m going for breakfast or brunch.

A real diamond in the rough. We were staying at the Kartrite and didn't feel welcome so we ventured out to find this gem. We found plenty of off street parking. We were greeted by a cheerful waitress. Our food was genuine and homemade. The special board is daunting (20 choices) and the menu is busier yet!!! My wife had the chicken tortellini alfredo which was rich with milkfat. I had their philly cheese steak which was in house shaved steak on a fantastic fresh crusty roll. We also had a kids meal which consisted of spaghetti, a homemade sauce and a 6 oz hand packed meatball. Our portions were overly generous and we met another family who also left the resort looking for an alternative.

I loved this place and I only came here because the first two diners that came up on my GPS were both "permanently closed". Lucky me! I had great service and my food was delicious. I am a bit of a creature of habit and if there is French Onion Soup on the menu .. I HAVE TO GET IT. It was delicious — and not just the cheese but the soup itself. I also had a bacon cheeseburger and cheese fries. Good lord, I was stuffed, but it was sooooo good. Check out my photos! So glad I ended up here.

My family and I were staying at the Kartrite Resort and decided to come here for dinner since it was close to the resort. Atmosphere is your typical mom & pop diner. Food was decent. I ordered a chicken fajita panini, it was good but the chicken was very thin. I felt like I was eating more bread than chicken as you can see from the photo I provided. Overall food was good, nothing out of this world. Friendly staff.

This place is very very very good! Their food is great! You tell them exactly what you want and you get what you ordered. You don’t have to send your food back like any other place because they get your order correct the first time! Again this is the best diner in the area, hands-down! If you have a chance to eat here you definitely want to take advantage of it!! Again, this is the best place in town to get a Great meal. You will NOT go away hungry or upset because the people are great. The food is great. Everything is great about this place!

Before the ‘Rona, this diner was always lively to the point of being cacophonous. Now every other booth is kept vacant, and a table obstructs the entryway, so it feels unwelcoming. The ceiling’s shellacked rafters have distinctive cuts which catch the light. As for the food, it times past the food was decent and fairly priced. During this review only milkshakes were consumed. There is sufficient parking in the diner’s lot, or on Broadway itself, though it is limited to two hours during daytime.

I felt that was odd for a diner and a little offensive. There were 7 of us (3 young children) and nobody finished their food (and not because we weren't hungry).

Not sure what all the great reviews is about. The food was meh and the only thing gluten free is a bun. Not toast! Food is not fresh and quite unappealing with cheapness! Not cheap in price either for what you get!

Our fountain drinks tasted like petroleum. Salad was quite tasty. My daughter's macaroni and cheese was rancid (the server raced out from the kitchen to take it back, but we had already tasted it and were quite disgusted). My wife's Chicken had been cooked a number of times, it seemed. My grilled cheese and fries were a safe bet and hit the spot. Our server was kind and attentive; she did her best. The bad food items were removed from our bill without us asking. The place is a diner. The atmosphere was exactly as expected. The food was definitely priced higher than was appropriate. Sad to report that Miss Monticello is worth a miss.

Old school Diner with average diner food. Did not have an electronic register, deal with paper checks in case you are traveling for your company you may have issues with expenses. Pricing wasn’t bad but the service was not good. Went there for breakfast. Got 3 eggs home fries with bacon. Food was TERRIBLE. Potatoes had NO FLAVOR, NO ONIONS OR PEPPERS. Tasted as if it was plucked from the ground. Bacon. Over cooked with the exception of one stripe being a little under cooked. EGGS, was also lacking flavor. Hate being picky, but how can you mess up breakfast?

Don’t let the 4 1/2 stars fool you. This place is horrible if you come in with 4 people or less. We came in because we wanted an old school diner feel and we were starving for breakfast! Now I’ll give them they were busy, and we were seated right away. The waitress came over in a matter of minutes and took our drink order. We ordered two coffees, a soda and an orange juice. After she brought our drinks she asked if we were ready to order and we were. We ordered two biscuits and gravy, and a side order of sausage links. My husband ordered 2 eggs a side of bacon and home-fries. Our friends ordered a meat lover omelette and her husband ordered a short stack of pancakes and a side of sausage patties. We’re very patient people, but the waitress never came back and asked if we needed any refills. She never came back and explained what was going on. We waited for an hour! Watching people get their food, eat pay and leave. They were so worried about the larger tables that they left our food under heat lamps, or that’s what we’re assuming. Finally after an hour we were so upset that my friend’s husband finally went up to the owner and said something and her response was to come over and refill the coffees offer another juice. She called us a liar because she said the other people came in before us. And her waitstaff sometimes gets the orders mixed up on larger tables. And we’re exaggerating on when we came in, she’s the one that seated us. We tried to explain to her that no, we know what time we came in and sat down. And she said that she doesn’t believe it’s been more than an hour and we’re lying. But right after we complained our food came out and this is where it gets very upsetting. We were still going to enjoy our food even if it was an hour late. But it came out ice cold. The waitress lied and said be careful it’s very hot. My husband is a cook and knows. His food was ice cold! So was my husband’s friends! This is why we believe our food was done and sitting back in the kitchen. We immediately got up and were walking out. The owner was in the front and said you got your food. And we told her that it was ice cold. And she said oh now you’re saying it’s ice cold. We said yeah because it has been done and just sitting back there. Never tried to apologize for the sub par service just told us to have a nice day sarcastically. I will never eat here again. Crappy service! I don’t even want to give them one star! I’d give them 1/4 star if I could!

Ordered chicken post pie. Very small for the price ($17.95) it came out burned. I could not eat it. I thought they made their own pies. It was a pie they bought frozen at the supermarket. How do you serve food when you see that it was burned

The service is horrible and the staff are rude, especially when it's packed.The food is extremely overpriced and mediocre at best. The reply to my review at the bottom of this demonstrates the maturity and respect of the diner's management: "It MOST be packed for a reason." They can't even reply with proper grammar. The reason it's packed is that there are only two diners in this town, and Tilly's Diner is much better.

Frustrating Experience with Inconsistent Service Policy The food here might be amazing, but I wouldn't know because I wasn't given the chance to find out. The server told me I couldn’t be served at the bar until a table opened up for a party of three who arrived just before me. To make it worse, that group had to wait twenty to twenty-five minutes for a table to open up! It makes no sense—I shouldn’t have to wait to be served at the bar if there’s space available. With some sadness, I’m leaving a negative review. Hopefully, it’ll prompt them to rethink this ridiculous policy.

Ordered food all at the same time everyone except my five year olds food came out. Everyone was almost done eating and still no food. Had to ask for silverware after food was brought to us.. do not recommend

I dont normally have pastrami with my oil soaked rye, but damn. This is the nastiest oily greasy mess I've ever been served. I could squeeze the rye and oil drips out like a wet sponge. The meat is so bland, I wonder how old is it. How do they have the audacity to call this pastrami? No napkins, utensils or hope. No, I see no reason to return.... if it had any more oil, the U.S. would invade your kitchen and take the cook into custody to eliminate competition.

I ordered an eggs benedict but with no egg and add an extra piece of ham (I swear this is not a complicated request if you just think about it for more than 2 seconds), and they gave me a plate with the ingredients..... I ordered from the diner so I wouldn't have to do all this; f I wanted to make this myself, I would have gone to shop rite and pay less than a third of the price, just to get this same thing. I know everyone has a coma whenever I ask for breakfast food with no egg, but this has to be the dumbest thing I ever seen
