This place is old school, but they haven't lost their touch! Everything was cooked perfectly and the ingredients seemed fresh. We got a caesar salad, linguine with clams, chicken piccata, and fried ravioli. The fried ravioli is different than St. Louis style toasted ravioli - it has less breading and is filled with ricotta, but it's very good. The chicken was perfectly cooked. I loved that they put fresh anchovies on top of the caesar salad. The clams were delicious and the pasta sauce was light, with a nice amount of garlic.
Went for dinner on a Tuesday night in August after a day of hiking around Redding and Castle Crags. The service was very friendly and quick. They were playing the US Open tennis tournament on the TVs which I loved. I had the Meatballs and Garlic Toast, and the Deep Fried Ravioli - both appetizer plates - and both were very delicious and very filling. Was staying at the Monte Bianco which is right across the street, so definitely turned out to be an easy and great pick.
An incredible Italian experience at Shasta. Amazing vegetarian options. We had pesto gnocchi and eggplant Parmesan that was incredible! For the dessert we had pumpkin cannoli that was probably the best. The service was incredible, overall highly recommend this place in this town.
Sat at the Bar. Listened to some smooth music, watched some sportscenter. Fast service. The Spaghetti Bolognese was excellent. I had it with two sides of meatballs, four total. The Cheesecake was amazing. Had to get two of those. Definitely a highly recommend when in Shasta.
Well I heard laughing 😃 as I walked in so I started laughing loud myself, everyone stopped and turned and looked at me and I said I just wanted to be part of the crowd. The owner shouted that's just what we like 👍. So everyone laughed and went back to their conversations. I had the meat ravioli it was delicious 😋. My friend had the gnocchi. We had amazing 🔥 HOT from the oven Bread. So good. Blessings, John
Great atmosphere, great service, yummy food. This is my first time at this place and I'll definitely be back. I had fried ravioli for an appetizer and the gnocchi with bolognese for dinner. So good.
Our client had our company Redding Balloons decorate for a party. The staff was wonderful to work with.
The whole experience was fantastic. I had dinner at the bar with a friendly and helpful bartender. I ordered fried calamari and home-made gnocchi Bolognese. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. Don't miss this restaurant when you're in town!

My husband and I really enjoy this authentic Italian restaurant. The vibes are classic, old school American-Italian and they have a curated menu which ensures that the food is fresh. We can vouch for the: oysters, calamari, ribeye, scallops, & NY cheesecake (I've been to NY several times--yes it's the real deal). Everything was amazing, well seasoned, and served with a smile. It was truly a culinary experience, the service was exceptional, and we can't wait to go back!
It's a shame that this place is closing. I know that they have a bad name in the local community, but under the new ownership they produced the best fried chicken I have ever consumed in my entire life. The pasta and meatballs were delicious and authentic as well. But the fried chicken is literally perfect and I would recommend it to any that go there. Absolute 10 out of 10 fried chicken. Definitely the best I have ever had in my entire life

Great place to eat. Very popular with the locals. Food was very good! One of our party asked for ice tea and they did not have it on the menu. One of the staff went out and bought some tea bags and they brought it to our table! Awesome service!
Lovely place with great service. We took out for dinner. I got the chicken picatta which was very well balanced and tasty. Definitely recommended from my side. We also got the spaghetti with meat sauce and sausages which were okay. Parking was very easy and right outside.
For an American Italian restaurant, I think this is a good place to dine at. Service was good; and so was the food. Considering the dishes' big portion, the prices were really good. My favorite entree was tthe Spaghetti with Meatballs. The Eggplant Parmesan would have been awesome without the vegetables, which were only half-cooked and had no taste. For desserts, I highly recommend the Panna Cotta--simply one of the best. When I dine there next time, I will likely choose outdoor seating, since there is a bar inside.
My family and I enjoyed this restaurant, the service, and the food. The pasta dishes were delicious. The house salad - basic, with lots of spring mix greens, few croutons and few cherry tomatoes, had good seasoning. The minestrone and clam chowder were good, but just lukewarm, which wasn't too bad on a hot day. The raspberry gelato was excellent, but the fish and chips were "meh". Overall, it was a solid dining experience. Parking was easy to find. No happy hour, as me tio ed on other reviews. You can order any pasta in a child size or kids chicken fingers and chips, for $10.
Nice place and worth eating at. Good place to grab a little wine and dinner with a friend. The pastas are pretty decent.
Service is a slower relaxing speed, but very friendly. Food was excellent prices are good for area. A must if you're in the area.

A Mt. Shasta classic. The menu is simple but has all the classic Italian restaurant items. The bread is freshly baked and worth the wait if a new batch is being baked. We had the spaghetti and meatballs, eggplant parmesan, and pesto pasta. All were very good and the portions were generous. The menu seemed smaller than I remember but it may be seasonal.

Don’t get your pasta with the alfredo sauce, it’s bland and ruined the gnocchi for me. My partner got the gnocchi with the pesto and it was a bit better. The chicken parm was good and she liked her eggplant parm. We chose this place for Valentines after it was recommended to us. The feng shui was odd for an italian place but I guess that’s what makes it “American italian”
Smallest oysters we've ever seen, vegetables were not fresh, not seasoned and dry. Salmon was just ok both pastas were good as well as clams

I wrote a review already, this is my response to it. What’s the difference between me sitting down or taking my food to go? It’s the same food, same amount of time to make—yet somehow it was an issue. It was late on a Wednesday night. Not the weekend, not a rush, and the place wasn’t even busy. So why was it a problem to get my food to go? Makes zero sense. The worst part? Instead of a simple apology or any kind of decent customer service, I got a rude, snarky response. I’ve been here multiple times before—I was a loyal customer. Not anymore. If you can’t handle takeout orders, don’t offer them. There’s nothing posted on your door or your website saying anything about restrictions. The lack of communication is ridiculous. I ended up going to Sparky’s down the street. They were about to close in 20 minutes and STILL happily took care of me—that’s how you treat people. So if you're thinking about trying this place, don’t. There are better options with better food and way better service.

I'm still reeling from our takeaway order at Mike & Tony last week. The barmaid was horrible, and the waitress was a walking testament to incompetence and cluelessness, having to ask about everything. She couldn't even tell us what vegetables were available. Then, to top it all off, when we asked for vegetables in our pasta, they gave us a box of raw broccoli and zucchini. As if that wasn't bad enough, they had the audacity to add an 18% gratuity to a takeaway order for this abysmal performance. This isn't just poor service; it's a scam. Do not waste your money here!
Drove all the way from Redding since they advertised on Facebook that they were closing. Sign on door said closed for the weekend. That's what we get for trying to patronize a favorite restaurant. This isn't the only time this has happened. Drive up only to find they are closed. Would have been nice if they updated their website to reflect that they were closed. 3 other parties pulled up same as us. Very disappointing for all!
