Hands down THE BEST Chicken E around town. This location gave me great sized tenders and such a great portion of okra! The drive thru attendant was also very friendly. Will be making the farther drive out just to come to this location from now on.

I grew up in the Philly area and to get fresh fish, we always went to a bar, or another place, never a fast food or quick spot. WHENEVER I order catfish, there's a wait and I love it. My fish doesn't come square and covered with cheese, not frozen, but fresh, hot and amazing. They hold it down, undisputed and don't get me started on the tea....

I have to say this location really knows what they are doing. They’re very fast at handling drive-through orders at the same time as handling inside customers. They seem to be really locked in and the service was great!

I went through the drive thru & they had me pull forward for fresh fish. I forgot to order a few things & the young lady working drive through accommodated me after putting in a second order without having to pull around. Fast food is a rough job but she handled a busy drive thru & my order with high professionalism & kindness. Shout out to Taylor! You rock girl!

There is a gentleman working the drive thru this evening 11.14.24 & he is the nicest, most respectful young man!! There aren’t many teenage boys who have manners these days. Everytime I come to this location he has always been so kind. Kudos to him! 🙂

I'm a fan of Chicken Express. I love the corn nuggets and the rolls. Always a must for us. The tea is really, really good too. We usually get the 12 pc dark meat family meal, and it's always delicious. Comes with 2 sides, 6 rolls or biscuits, and a gallon of tea. This feeds 4-6 people and is priced well.

Update: The trash situation has gotten much much better. Staff continue to deliver and the food is hot and fresh. Older review The staff has treated me well. It is apparent to me that they care about the customer experience. Their gizzard and liver are to die for!!! The only reason I am dinging them is for consistently having full trash bins in the exterior of the restaurant. Other than that, they are a fabulous option.

First time coming to Chicken Express Houston doesn't have one at least where I use to live. Chicken tenders are perfect you can taste 😋 the flavor seasoning. Not tough Chicken comes apart. Mashed potatoes 🥔 were also delicious and their rolls omg 😲!!!! They also have Mac and cheese 🧀 and oakcra.

Unlike the Chicken Express near my home, this location consistently gives me good service, good food, and a clean table to sit down at. I never hesitate to go to this Chicken Express.

This is my go to fried chicken place in the Keller / N Ft Worth area. It's across from Dairy Queen and Walmart at Beech and Tarrant. I always get 8 piece all thighs, family fries, okra, cole slaw, rolls and sweet tea. Mmm good. My boys love thier chicken fingers and gravy. Thier staff is always friendly and helpful. We have been eating here since 2009. Recommended.

The chicken strips are good, but I haven't gotten the fried chicken without having to wait. Staff is very personable. Will continue to frequent but will stick with the strips.

Friendly staff and clean establishment. Food was okay and would have preferred the chicken strips cooked a little more but not bad overall. Will come again.

Chicken Tenders, rolls, and biscuits are always good here. Catfish and okra are also good choices but generally take longer. Underrated is the actual fried chicken which is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Iced tea also a fave. Been going here for the last decade and have not had any issues with food quality.

The food was very good and hot. They were very helpful and friendly. I would have given them 5 stars if it had been more comfortable in the lobby. It was quite chilly in there and we had to keep our coats on while eating.

Food is a hit and miss. More successful when we order chicken strips. Sweet tea is awesome and so is gravy when fresh!

Prices went through the roof..its chicken..I mean cmon it not like it's made outta gold...even worse is the hidden inflation..smaller sizes..the tea is mostly sugar, I mean to complain cause the rich keep getting richer.

Chicken Express is decent fried chicken. I believe a little pricy. I cater to this business because it is the closest to my home. We have been done wrong many times with the quality of the product and wrong orders. Afraid this has happened many times. I actually was so upset one evening I emailed my complaint to there provided email. Never got any response. We do love fried chicken and this location is close. I wish a Church's would open around here. So, because of location this is where we go. There is a KFC close but a chicken leg the size of a pigeon is not much of a deal. Especially since they are too pricy for chicken. I do prefer the Chicken Express location on Keller Parkway because the service and quality of food is actually different and better.

For a Fast Food Chain that offers Tea by the Gallon, A Gallon jug that they fill on sight. I tried to order Half Unsweet Tea and Half Lemonade, the Manager said, "They Can't do that." Such a Simple order/task that couldn't be done. Pretty sad!!

It’s frustrating when I pay as much as I did for the family meal and the order isn’t right. It’s wasn’t very complicated; I requested was 10 spicy tenders that I did not receive but the kid preparing the order was too busy talking instead of paying attention to the ticket.

Food is good like any other chicken express I've ever been to. But they don't have a chip reader. Chip cards have been around over 6 (SIX) years. You're losing sales not having a chip reader. Get a chip reader.

This chicken express used to be one of the best around but has gone downhill in the last 6-9 months. Chicken now tasts old instead of fresh, tea tastes dirty like the Brewer is not being cleaned regularly/properly, orders through drive thru are often wrong having the wrong or missing sides. The best chicken express around is on 377 near 820. This Beach location needs to be retrained to operate like the 377 location.

I visited this location the other day and was shocked how much their prices are. I ordered the 7 piece spicy tender meal and was charged $18.99!! Add a drink and 1 extra roll and tye total was like almost $22. That's ridiculous, $2.57 for each chicken tender!! Nearly 3 bucks for a single piece of chicken. I can't justify paying that much for fried chicken. Winco has great deals on their fried chicken in thei deli for far less. A meal like this should be like $10.99 total

Supposed to be an 8 piece wing combo, but I guess they don't get paid to count. If they were going to give me these unidentifiable pieces of chicken the least they could do was throw a few more in the box and not short me. Won't be long before people are raising thier own chickens. Oh and 8 mins is too long for a single filet of catfish. Fish shouldn't be tough and rubbery.

Have eaten at chicken express, different locations, since they opened. Our experience here was not the norm and was worst food and service. May try again in the future. Hope your experience is better.

I went on here on basically a date. We came in to use the restroom originally and then ended up getting food. We got fries, the 7-piece chicken tenders with gravy and a biscuit, and lastly corn nuggets and a Dr. Pepper. I went to go fill our drinks with ice and the ice wasn't working. On a personal level, I love me my ice so when it kept revving and didn't come out of the machine I was drinking HOT Dr. Pepper. It took them about 5-10min to bring out our stuff and it was honestly really good and hot. About three people walked in the span of an hour. Super quiet and all you could hear was the cooking of the chicken in the back. Super chill place and the server was really sweet. The atmosphere isn't like how it use to be with their booths, but it is calm.

I only go here for my daughter. I use to love this place until they changed management and the quality of food went down a bit. But they still serve good sweet tea.

I won’t be back. Everything shoved in a box with a cracked lid on now juice less green beans but wet fried chicken. Also, a very suspicious looking gravy, clear? Hmmm.

Before Covid it was the best fast food chicken place around. Things changed though. Chicken is always dry and lukewarm. Taking my business somewhere else now.

Food is always great at any Chicken Express, but that's just my opinion. I am not rating the food here in this review, I'm focusing on service here. I didnt like the fact that they had a lot of people playing in the kitchen area (everyone), Laughing, playing over our food, sitting around talking with a crowd of people waiting for food. The drink machine was flooding from the bottom and no one was cleaning up the place to make it look nice when people come in. They were receiving pranks while I was there, someone was sending them Chicken Express meals delivered by door dash...not one 2 different orders....2 different door dashers...weird 🤨. In the staff's defense they were all very young here, so that would explain a lot of the behaviors I witnessed, but food will be good.

We just went through the drive through due to not being able to order inside, they had maybe 6-7 cars, we ordered 2 number 1s, spicy with fries and drinks, and a number 4 I believe with jalapeño poppers and a biscuit instead of a roll. We ended up not receiving any fries or the biscuit. And I was unsatisfied with the 3 measly jalapeño poppers. We spent 31 dollars for the order to be messed up and unsatisfactory.

Hit or miss, the food can be really good or really overcooked. I'm a fan of the fried fish and find that more often than not, the fish is incredibly overcooked and the hushpuppies are raw. The last time we ate here the gravy on the mashed potatoes had a Lysol flavor to it. We avoid this location at all costs now. As a chain their pretty good, but this location is terrible.

Trying to phone ahead is not a viable option at this location. Customer service at the order counter is sterile (waited more than two minutes for someone to greet me with zero emotion or energy) unless you consider the employee’s drink at the register. The food was good however.

I am so disappointed with this location. This use to be my favorite location. The food was always hot and the size of the pieces were always pleasing. However, on this visit I ordered my usual: 2 piece (breast and wing) and fries. When I got home and opened my box, there was a very dry breast and anemic looking wing. Also, the fries were not fresh and there was only about 12 fries. I was not happy at all. This has made me sad

Food is good but the managers really need to step it up. It is not a good look when your drive thru is full and 3 of your cooks are all out back smoking with one of the managers. This is a horrible look. How don’t know if they washed when they went back in? Prob didn’t wash at all. I know it’s a bunch of kids working. Management needs to get this squared away. Not a good look at all.

It is a clean place to eat, I'm not sure if it was because it was after 9pm. I attempted to eat my food there because it was so clean and quiet. I don't know if it was my appetite or if the food is just that bad. This is my first time eating here. IT WAS A CLEAN PLACE!!

They told me they were closed 20 minutes before their closing time because they ran out of tenders but there were two cars ahead of me in the drive thru. I told him I just wanted sides but he didn't seem to care.

THEY STOLE AND USED MY DEBIT CARD AT QT !!!!! Me and my wife went to this chicken express to grab lunch and was never handed back our debit card. We realized hours later and as we got ready to head back to this location our debt card WAS USED AT A QT LOCATION IN NORTH RICHLAND HILLS. Yes you heard me correctly our debit card was taken from this location but the workers and USED a few minutes up the road. THE EMPLOYEE or MANAGER actually tried to use it at the pump 1st and then proceeded inside TO PAY CREDIT!!! UNBELIEVABLE RIGHT!!!!!!!!!! I KNOW WE INSTANTLY SHUT THE CARD DOWN AND WAS AFRAID THAT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WOULD BE SPENT. WE SPOKE TO A MANAGER AND HE TOLD US NOTHING COULD BE DONE AND WE WERE VERY UPSET. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE NEXT DAY THE CARD IS BACK IN THE SAFE WHICH MEANS THE MANAGER TIPPED OFF ONE OF HIS FELLOW CALUGES WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The worst chicken express went there asked for a extra mashed potatoes pulled up to the window asked the guy can you please make sure I got the extra mashed potatoes and he said yes I already checked. So I pull up to doble check and guess what no extra mashed potatoes. Then to top it off they are cheap the gravy and smashed potatoes are half the regular size. So disappointment first time there because I just moved to the area but will not be back I will drive a little farther to get the right portions and good service.

Ordered a shake, after about 10 minutes of them trying to figure out how to ring it up, they overcharged me. Then, there was a big black hair in it. When I went up to get a refund, they took the shake and walked off. Then after a couple minutes the and more customers coming in they told me to get out of the way so they could help the customers. After all of that they tried to give me another shake. Finally got the refund. Idiots.

Ordered through the drive thru and had only 2 simple orders. We asked for ranch on both orders and when we checked the food there was no ranch dipping sauce or napkins in the bag and we were highly disappointed. Will never be going back to this location.

This is the last straw. They dropped the 25 piece special last year. Downgraded the coupon to 15 pieces, rolls and 2 family sides for $18.48. Now it only gets you one side. The last two times we have ordered food from here, the mashed potatoes where gritty (like grits) which now I know they're boxed potatoes. The last time I came to this location. I waited in line at the window for 20 mins, while two girls were throwing rags around and everyone but one kid was working at a snails pace. I'm done ordering from this location!

DO NOT GO HERE, you will be waiting disproportionately longer then literally any other option around. I waited 10 minutes on someone to answer the drive threw intercom. They did not answer. So I went inside and got to witness what was taking so long. There was absolutely no reason. I am being as serious and as literal as I can, they are the slowest possible option. Its by far the least express restaurant.

7pm on Tuesday night, several cars there, prime supper time so it should have been super fresh, went thru the drive thru. But.....not fresh at all, the hush puppies were so old when I went to bite it, it disintegrated like dust. The fish was old & tough too, the thin ends basically to hard to even chew. And I got macaroni...... But no fork. And I paid over $9 for fish, piece of corn, & three bites of mac & cheese, no drink. I'll never go back here again

Painfully slow and awful staff attitude! It was 10 minutes before I was even greeted and I was standing inside the restaurant. Two other individuals came in and complained their order was completely wrong. It took a total of 40 minutes for 15 tenders and a large chicken liver. TERRIBLE.

so, my mother in law came to this location to order food thru the drivethru and after they ordered as they were waiting they see 2 girls (workers) just staring and laughing at her...not getting any work done or working on any orders.just playing around. at first she just ignored it but then minutes later she looks back over at the window as she is still waiting for their food, and these 2 girls are still starring and laughing ...making it so obvious that my MIL finally said "excuse me, is something funny?" and the one girl says "hold on let me get the manager" for what? anyway...he comes to the window and is no help whatsoever , moral of the story is that these girls are so immature that work there and this is what's wrong with today's society. some people's work ethic just sucks and whatever happened to customer service? I mean seriously? still wanna know what was so funny....

Food was at best a day to several hours old. They cut the gizards into 2-3 pieces and call them an 18 piece order. I was going their 2-3 times a month, to feed a family of 7. That won't happen again.

Food was horrible. It was cold and hard. The service was even worst, the cashier told me I had to wait 12 mins to get fish. I didnt mind waiting. When I got to the window my food was already ready throwing into the bag. I over heard her telling another cashier to tell a customer that food wasn't available because she didnt want to cook it. I normally eat here all the time. I don’t know what happened this past time. I went through the drive through like I normally do. I am still waiting and it’s been 25 minutes. I ordered two meals that are basic. While I have been waiting, I have seen at least 6 vehicles come and go. I talked to the employee inside, and he said they were backed up. I don’t understand because if they were backed up, I shouldn’t see 6 vehicles leave. This is a very bad example of customer service. I definitely won’t be coming back to this location, as this is very poor customer service. They didn’t even apologize.

This has to be the worst food I ever ate from chicken express. whoever cooked the fish that we bought, ( 2 fish orders) cooked one correct and the other one just fell apart like it wasn’t even cooked at all. We ordered okra and got french fries that wasn’t Crispy, The mashed potatoes and gravy was half full. The total order was so not right , I will never eat this chicken express again.

I dont know what happened to their mashed potatoes. I know they have probably always been instant but they must have changed suppliers or something but the potatos are disgusting now. I’ve tried them twice in the last 2 months and threw them away both times because they smell and taste like apple cider vinegar and they are completely soup when we get them, last time we ate it smelt like cleaning products, ya’ll better hope you dont get shut down if theirs some kinda of contamination there

Literally the rudest staff I’ve ever encountered at a restaurant. Stood in there without any acknowledgement for 20 minutes. Staff was arguing and when they finally did they were so rude. I’d never come back here.

Arrived at 940 pm in drive thru, placed ordered and was 3rd car in line after I pulled around the building. Guy comes out to get my payment, and returns with receipt and my drink. Another 15 minutes goes by, and the lights are shut off and car behind me gets their food and drives off. Then the two vehicles in front of me finally get their food, and I pull up to the window to be told they have NO more food. Why did my payment get taken, if there was no more food. So I was supposed to be refunded my money back to my card, and they has yet to happen. NEVER AGAIN AT THIS LOCATION!!!

Guess their AC was out which made eating inside miserable. And then I noticed an employee wearing crocs for shoes instead of non slip shoes that you wear for food service establishments. And their chicken express cups and eating food all in the back area where food is to be cooked. Kitchen area looked not very clean.

Pretty disappointing. Went thru the drive through an hour before close. I was the only person there. Ordered a 7 piece tender combo and 3 poppers. The girl who handed me my order didn’t even speak. She just looked at my begrudgingly and handed my food through the window. I said thank you and she just turned around and walked away. Ok… get home and I have a 4 tender meal. Checked my receipt and I was charged for what I asked for. So I paid almost 16$ for 4 chicken tenders, a scoop of mashed potatos and 3 jalapeño poppers. The roll was smooshed flat and burnt? How? I called up to see if they would refund the difference of the two meals to my card. In fact I called 5 different times. The phone number listed online went to a busy signal every time. I mean come on…

The Store manger SARAH NEEDS TO have better customer service skills when dealing with the customers. She was arguing with me and you just don’t do that kind of stuff, our food was cold and not right and it look like someone squeezed or smashed my role then we order two large sweet tea‘s thank God I didn’t get diabetes from it!!!

The employees are so rude here. One girl had no uniform on. Just a shirt and leggings on. I only knew she worked there because she in the back. I will not be back.

What a circus!!! We placed a simple order ( two # 1 combos). Nothing was right. We politely pointed out the mistakes and were met with defensive, argumentative excuses. It took over 15 minutes to get our food correct. THEN we discovered we were overcharged. They stated they couldn’t refund the overcharge because the payment had been recorded and they were not allowed to make any changes. We finally got our food and the chicken was undercooked and the sides were cold. This was once a good restaurant. We have used them to cater family get togethers and ate there often. The past year we have seen a serious deterioration in quality and service. We are through with those clowns!

They got my order wrong both of the two times I've been here. It really isn't hard to throw a couple chicken strips in a box or add a sweet tea onto a receipt. Don't bother with this one.

Walked in to get my pick up order that said it would be ready at 7:20-7:30. I got here at 7:30. I hear the girl trying to talk to the cook in Spanish about how many pieces of chicken she needed and after a minute of trying to communicate with him another guy tried to help and tell her she needs more than she is telling him and she says to him "I'm not making that girls right now" and tells the cook the lesser amount she needs. Then tells another guy "tell that girl it's going to be 15-20 minutes". Absolute trash customer service. They are all just hanging out in back talking and on their phones. The prices are already asinine and I honestly didn't really want to eat here but here we are. I will not be back.

It's disappointing when you place a simple order and don't get what you requested. The quantity of the fries in not equivalent to a kids meal. Please do better with the service and providing customers what they actually order!!!

My ticket # 375. I order 7 spicy tenders okra and fries. No drink. Well when i got to work i had no fries and my chicken was not spicy. First time ive ever had a problem. But im probably not going back to this location. For the prices on the menu the staff should make the orders correct.

Giving a one star because my family when enjoy to lunch and get out of the heat only to walk into a burning up building. We got our food to go instead. I asked the cashier about the AC.. he had said it's been out since last week. Honestly , it is ridiculous that the workers are in there with fryers, warmers, and ovens. Honestly, I wouldn't have even shown up to work in those conditions!. The workers were very nice and the food was fresh!.

Shocked these reviews aren't flooded by how much they jack up the price for chicken. Dirt cheap at grocery and wholesale stores yet a 7 tender meal is $16-18?? Used to be my favorite for about 28 plus years but I'll never waste my money there again. You can eat at Babe's cheaper.

Two months later update: Okay, the real question is why did I go back to the Chicken Express location on North Beach Street? Did I really expect it to of changed for the better? I could say my truck drove me there against my will, but I have to own up to my lack of judgement. This was the worst ever! My order was cold, the chicken tenders was mostly fried batter, my roll had a flat, my sweet tea was missing the tea and I didn't get the cream gravy. On the bright side, the straw was fine. What Was I Thinking? Original review: This location on North Beach Street used to be my favorite, but maybe in the past year or so they have new owners or a new manager coz they have been steadily go downhill in service and quality of the food. They don't seem to be a business that wants to make money or cares about their customers. It used to be a really nice place, but now I'd rather drive to the Basswood location. They run out of food and won't make more, they mess up my orders and randomly close up to an hour early. The last time I was there they closed early after the car ahead of me ordered and never answered me through the speaker second later. An employee leaving walking by to his car said they were closed. Consistency is good unless it's in a negative manner.

I stopped by to test this location before placing a catering order for my crew — and I’m glad I did, because this experience showed me exactly why I always test first. I had to repeat my order seven times, and they still managed to get it wrong twice. After waiting an extended time in the drive-thru, I was given the wrong combos and cold food. I work just two minutes away, so there’s no reason the food should’ve been that cold except poor service. Between the rising cost of gas and food, no one should have to deal with that level of frustration. Because of this, you’ve lost a catering order for a 40+ person construction team. I won’t be back, and I’ll be letting my crew know to avoid this location too.

If you read my reviews, 9 times out of 10, they're positive reviews. But the food I got yesterday at this location was SO BAD that maybe a bad review will help correct it? I went there about 4 pm, and all I ordered was two fried chicken legs. No sides, no drink. That's it. Just chicken. This chicken was so dry. It was obvious to me that it was old chicken that had been sitting there for a long time. I think they tried to salvage it by reheating it in a microwave. They also threw in a dry, hard, crumbly biscuit that was so hard on the outside that my guess is that it had been reheated at least three times. I almost lost a tooth trying to bite into it. It was awful. And expensive. $7 for that crappy excuse for fried chicken. Again, JUST chicken. And they couldn't be bothered.

I put in an order on uber eats for pickup for myself. I went to the drive through, gave them my name.They said they had the order and to pull around to the window. I get to the window and they say they never had my order and then come back and say someone already picked up your order from uber, and it was a delivery. They blatantly lied to me and did not give me my food I had paid for when they were the ones who gave my food to the incorrect people. Then I call back and ask for the store manager's name, and they tell me they don't know it. A bunch of young kids who don't care working here and management is worthless.

I am waiting for someone to tell me this was all a joke. Drive thru order that took longer than it should considering the shape of the food. The order of okra was burnt, the order of potatoes was soured, rolls idk how to describe the taste other than not good, chicken you could use in a pick up match of baseball it was so hard, and cheddar poppers dark on the outside cold in the middle. The only thing we ordered that was edible was the gravy and hardly enough to feed 4 people. I tried to call, but the phones doesn't work. I would pass this location up and use any other. A wasted $41 and a hungry family.

The person at the window was nice but they gave me the smallest tenders ever. Definitely won’t be coming back to this location I recommend the basswood location if the tenders are small they throw extra

Tenders are literally not edible, super hard and dried. Whomever took my order got it wrong and refused to correct it.

They young lady who took my order completely disregard my wishes for fresh fries. Not fries sitting under a warming lamp. She had someone give me my food who was shocked when I refused the fries. Which made me wait 7 more minutes in the drive thur. If I’m paying my moment for money for something please respect my wishes.

Gabriel is completely unprofessional when it comes to servicing a customer. Very nonchalant and unhelpful. I was told that I can leave if my order is wrong and I haven’t even touched it. Farrah please assist since he said you’re “busy”. All I asked for was spicy tenders. He got rowdy and called the police so I’ll be back!

Out delivering today, got hungry, stopped at chicken express to grab some whole wings, asked if they would cook them fresh, they said yes but a 15 minute wait, took my money and I waited and watched all these people go through the drive-thru behind me. I waited so long I had to call them to see if my order was ready, they say, we'll bring it to you. I take the bag but the food is not hot. If it was cooked just now it should have been hot. There was no excuse for this.
