There are new owners. The new owners are always friendly and the food is always good. A few years back, the employees were rude and never smiled.

A little hole-in-the-wall restaurant with amazing food, especially the orange chicken. Prices are very reasonable, too.

This place would be a 5 with a couple things…. The wontons fried or in soup are undercooked and soggy, but that’s it! Beat egg rolls around. Sweet girl at counter and clean and delicious food. They listen if you say well done or sauce on side.

I'm giving 5 stars to offset all the 1 stars. This restaurant just changed owners in 2015, so all the reviews about the horrific attitude of the previous owners are off the table. The new owners seem much much nicer, and have put in attractive tables and chairs and even upgraded the faded picture menu above the counter. The food is standard US Chinese fare and is pretty average compared with other Chinese restaurants. They seem to have retained the great wanton dipping sauce of the previous owners, which is a big plus.

I don't know why this place doesn't have higher ratings. My family has eaten here many times and it's always been really yummy, prompt, and hot. Sometimes the workers can be a little curt, but what do you expect? It's not a spa. To each his own but we really like it.

This place is Really awesome! I order here constantly and love their service. I eat about 3 things from there that I would recommend highly! The Beef and Broccoli,Chicken wings,Spring Rolls,Chicken fried rice. Great,Great tasting food. They deserve a higher rating for the food and the service alone.

Now it has nice seats and tables and is very very clean. One of the nicer take place I have ever been too. The food is top notch and they do not skimp in any way on proportions. It is even better now than it was when I was a kid. The new owners and staff are very friendly and always remember who I am, what food I order, and what extras I like. It is really great service. Plus, if you ever have a hang over, their Hot and Sour soup is hands down the best hot and sour soup I have ever had and it cures any upset stomach or hang over. Highly recommend this place to anyone who likes truly great Chinese take out.

Under new ownership from 2015 on, it's been a great place to go for Chinese take out. Unlike the previous management, the people are very nice and friendly, speak fluent English and the food is solid. A bit greasy - but acceptable level. I like that they have plenty of condiments to take freely. Food is ready quickly within 15 min average.

Great Wall is now under new ownership, and the customer service has improved dramatically (the prior owners were kind of notorious for being rude). I think the food has also improved dramatically. If you didn't like them before, you should definitely consider trying them again. Hang Lin, the new owner, is a very nice guy who clearly wants to improve Great Wall's former reputation.

Entire restaurant has been cleaned and re-furnished. 30+ year old signs have been removed and replaced, disgusting vents have been removed, the entire place is clean as a whistle! Under new ownership I suspect. good stuff!

I dont get Chinese take out often but my kung pow shrimp was very good and the fried chicken wings were actually better than most restaurants

Great place to get chinese food. I've had multiple dishes including special lo mein, sesame chicken, chicken with broccoli, and happy family. They don't accept credit or debit, but other than that this place is a great restaurant.

The only true Chinese food In town. I see the owner replies to some reviews. My main reason for the review is to get your attention, please put your Restaurant on door dash. I personally would buy more food if I didn't have to drive to get it. The food is good sorry I can't give it 5 stars. I have had better but I've eaten at allot of places.

Uneven..sometimes good, sometimes not. Good hot and sour soup

Usually good food. Tonight had boneless spare ribs. Had no bbq sauce of any type on it. Tasted like boiled meat in somewhat flavored water. Looks like it was dried. Disappointed just for this evening. Rice was good.

I know there's a certain amount of greasiness with some Chinese food, but literally everything we got was extremely greasy and pretty tasteless. So disappointing :'(

There was a hair in our food which sucks and customer service was bad when we asked if we could just get a refund for the part of the meal that had the hair in it.

I am from out of state and I wanted some lunch. I walked in and asked to use the restroom to wash my hands. No public restroom available so no lunch for me and I walked out. Jerk.

They were not only rude and dirty but screwed up my order. Asked for no broccoli and for wonton not dumplings. They refused to fix the order. How do they operate anyway?@!?!!!/ They will not give you a receipt and they only take cash. I'm filing a complaint with the IRS and with the Better Business Bureau. Hope the Health department shows up shortly too.

aghh the house special egg foo young was awful. when I opened the container grease seeped out. It was like everything was swimming in grease and it was pretty tasteless. The brown sauce was descent though.

Chicken very overcooked and thought it had bones in it until I realized it was plastic! There was plastic in every piece of chicken. Also got peppered steak which was better but only had 3 small pieces of steak.

I live in New Paltz, and I refused to go to Great Wall. The young Asian short lady is so nasty with her customers that I will not go there for take out anymore. She needs to learn how to speak to her customers. The food is on the low end and the place is dirty. And, I don't know why locals go there for Chinese take out.

On a visit to Great Wall for a dinner pickup this evening, we were met by an extremely rude & obnoxious young woman after informing her over the phone that we are in a wheelchair & asked if she could bring the order out (we've never had an issue with this before). She argued with us & said "isn't there someone who can come in?!" before rudely hanging up on us. She refused to even say a simple "thank you." If she was busy, she only had to say please be patient & will bring it out shortly (there was only 2 people inside). We will not be returning to this establishment anymore (which is a pity since the food is good) & have informed friends & family to do the same. Recently we decided to try this establishment again. The dishes were quite oily but tasted ok. After paying for our order we couldn't get a simple"thank you." This place has sure changed over the years. 😷

Lo mein worst I ever had. Dry and tasteless. Boneless spareribs sort of fatty and some tough pieces and all the sauce spilt out in my bag. General Cho chicken had red hot sauce on it instead of the brown sauce I am accustomed to. Hadn't been to this place in awhile and had the craving for Chinese food.
