As Thai who lives abroad, it is really hard to find an authentic Thai restaurant. Today I found a new gem in Manhattan. Yezo Isankaya did not disappoint me at all. Not only the real Thai flavor of southeastern food but the atmosphere also made me feel at home. The food is tasty. My friend and I ordered beef hotpot and fried chicken (Thai style) for lunch. Longan and yuzu for drinks then we completed the meal with coconut ice-cream! Love everything here. May is the best! Very accommodating and entertaining. We had braised beef, pad Thai, calamari, fried fish, crab fried rice. All of them were amazing! Cocktail drinks were awesome! We are definitely coming back here. I highly recommend this place.

Mly is the best, she made our night the best with laughter and good recommendations. We ordered Salmon Claypot, Short Rib Massaman, and Chicken Satay. This is a thai-japanese fusion which offers an interesting twist to regular thai food. “Yezo” is a province in northeastern part of Thailand and is well known for its vibrant culinary culture. The vibe in here is top notch, especially during Fridays in where they have jazz live. The dishes are unique in a way that you’ll still get that thai flavor but bursting more flavor. It was my first time having Mao Mao noodle and I loved it! Their salmon clay pot is amazing! And their SAUCES, one of the best I had. You need to check this spot out!

Yezo Thai Isankaya is a new Thai-Japanese fusion gem in midtown. With stylish décor and live jazz on Fridays, the atmosphere is perfect. The tum khao pode (corn salad), crying tiger (flavorful beef), and pasta mao mao (Thai-Italian blend) were all fantastic, and the salmon clay pot was rich and tender. The cocktails, especially the melon-er and soo soo, were as beautiful as they were delicious. Be sure to try the coconut jackfruit ice cream for a sweet finish!

Great Thai spot! We came with a big group and everything was fresh, flavorful, and served surprisingly fast. The staff were friendly and the place felt cozy I really enjoyed it and will definitely come back for lunch

This place was a great addition to our weekend getaway. With amazing accommodations, spectacular service, and caring workers, Ye zo was truly a great time. Also, the food was spectacular, I had the curry noodles and they were very good and filling.

Heard about this place opening up and after browsing through Yelp and seeing all the pictures I decided to go celebrate my birthday here. I was so surprised by how good the food was. We had ordered so many things to try and they all were deliciousss! It seems that they make everything from scratch from hot pot soup and sauces which is undeniably impressive. The only complaint is that the portions are a bit small compared to the price. Inside the restaurant is decorated as Thai cozy dining room style with Thai stuff and Thai movies posters featuring Japanese decor. This place is owned and run by Thai people so the service fits my style perfectly lol. I have been back here twice in one month and I don’t live in the city. So this confirms how much I love this place lol ! I would totally encourage and recommend everyone to come visit. Tips: Crying tiger is a must try ! If you like to eat beef. Salmon clay pot is great if you like fish. Paying with cash gets some discount (if they still offer.) P.S. The pictures are from two visits. :)

Very cute and cozy restaurant. Food was 10/10. We ordered the Crying Tiger appetizer, Tom Yum Tofu Hot Soup, Crab 🦀 Fried Rice (it was absolutely delicious), and Beef Drunken Noodles 😋 . Drinks were delicious and they have great mocktail options. The staff are super friendly. Loved it here and highly recommend 🙂

I came here drawn by the high reviews and the fact that the place was packed with Asian guests - they know how this type of food should taste. I wasn’t mistaken. I had one of the best Pad Thais ever. The service was also very kind and helpful. I strongly recommend this place!

Cute and quaint place. When no other Thai restaurants had tables before 8pm, this one did. When we arrived they were empty so we got concerned. But when the drink arrived we were comforted. Then when the food arrived we were shocked it wasn’t slammed on a wait. Clearly a hidden jewel. Very gluten free friendly. The green curry and pad thai could jog be better. Service is sweet and fast. Food came in less than 10 minutes!

First of all I’m not the staff. The food I ordered was a choice for people who don’t eat meat at all too. The food tastes like an authentic e-San food and a good combination with Japan food. A very good concept. This restaurant is a good choice for who wants to try a combinations of Thai and Japanese.

There’s a group of five sitting next to us and complaint all the time when they were there, one of the guy asking me if I really like the food and I said yes. He still asked me a couple times if i’m sure like he wanted me to say something else😂 I don’t mind them for not knowing what is Thai food or E-san food is also it’s a combination of Thai food and Japanese food too, but they shouldn’t walked pass us and said “they were impressed” I’m like OKAY. Loved this restaurant! We made reservations for 4 people at 7:30pm on a Friday night and was seated right away. This really hits the spot when you want something with the ease and warmth of comfort food, but with the right amount of refinement and interest that makes dining out worth it. We had the corn, chicken wings, salmon claypot, beef claypot, and longan mocktail. My partner’s very picky about meats, coming from Istanbul, but he couldn’t stop complimenting his steak claypot. The salmon was also excellent , with a very subtle spice to the rich-flavored rice that complemented the fish very well. Longan mocktail was refreshing and not too sweet. They source the longan from a friend’s farm in Thailand, where they’re grown organically. Appetizers came out very fast, which was a godsend for our hangry toddler. Service was extremely kind and friendly, with special care given to our toddler. Indoor atmosphere was warm and fun. Sidewalk seating’s available.

Great casual Thai place in the neighborhood! Has a super cozy atmosphere, great music, and even greater service! I got the Khao Soi here which hit the spot - the right balance of spicy, the slightest bit tangy, and savory. The ice cream at the end of the meal was the perfect way to cap off the meal - not too sweet and creamy in the right way. 100% worth checking out in a sea of great Thai restaurants in NYC!

Hosted a surprise birthday party here (40 guests total) and it was a blast! Helen (owner) was great to work with; very responsive, accommodating, and went above and beyond in all aspects. She and her team decorated the restaurant until early hours of the morning, and also was present during the entire event. Medium spice level is very spicy for the average person who can tolerate high-ish heat. The papaya salad is the perfect way to begin the culinary experience. The Tom Yum soup is beautiful and so savory. They put a hot plate right on the table to heat up the soup. The slow cooked Beef Penang (still on the bone) was out of this world. Highly recommend ordering this. The Pad Thai is light and tasty. Not like the pad Thai you have had before. Trust me. 5 stars for atmosphere, taste, service, and overall wonderful experience.

WOW, my friends and I stumbled into this Thai spot on accident and it was the BEST Thai place I have ever had. Every single dish was a hit, and they gave us complimentary fried wonton skins and they were so airy and crispy with amazing flavor! We ordered their Tom Yum, Crab Fried Rice, Khao Pad Mun Neur, Salmon Clay Pot. We are already excited to come back to try their their Short Rib Massamam which we didn't get to try since their kitchen closed by the time we realized how amazing the food was. Tried the Pad Thai and Thai Fried Rice and both totally delivered! The Pad Thai had tender shrimp, a slightly sweet tamarind sauce, and great texture though I would've loved a bit more tang. The Fried Rice was comforting and flavorful, with perfectly cooked chicken and just the right amount of wok char. The food was so good I completely forgot to take a photo and that says a lot! The ikura and the garlic fried rice underneath were rich and packed with umami. So satisfying. ＊Short Rib Massaman $34.95 Definitely a must try here. The short rib has been braised for over 24 hours. It literally fell off the bone when I tried to grab it lol. It was tender and paired perfectly with the rich massaman curry. The roti on the side was buttery, flaky, and made to scoop up every last bit. ＊Crying Tiger $17.95 ＊Keaw Tod $12.95 Served on a stone grill, the beef fully absorbed the smoky flavor. The meat was slightly overcooked even though we ate it right away. While for the crispy wontons, I expected more fillings at this price point. ＊Coconut Ice Cream $14 It came with three generous scoops of coconut ice cream, topped with peanuts and sweet corn. A tropical combo that could hardly go wrong. ＊My Summer (Mocktail) $12 ＊Kham Oon $17 We got Kham Oon with oolong gin which was refreshing and fragrant! Wow, I mean what an experience! Thai-Japanese fusion in the midtown that feels like you've walked into a home. The hospitality was lovely and we consistently felt welcomed and cared for by not just our server (we'll get to her) but the whole team seemed to keep their eyes on us. I was said that, because of the snowstorm, we arrived a bit later than our reservation time so we missed Happy Hour. Nonetheless, in our first interaction with the staff, a lovely lady said with a smile that tonight was special and that we could order cocktails with the Happy Hour price anyway. What a way to begin! What I was most excited about: jazz nights are Friday 8:00pm - 9:30pm and Saturday 7:30pm - 8:30pm. We were grateful to hear (quite on brand) two fantastic Japanese jazz musicians—Mr. and Mrs. Otomo. Mr. Otomo on piano and Mrs. Otomo as vocalist. They are fantastic and played a range of jazz standards and surprise pieces, complete with impressive and ambitious improvisation. What a treat they were to hear. I even spoke with Mr. Otomo after and learned they perform here around once per month. I am excited to hear them again and other ensembles in the future. Finally, at one point, my date and I we're talking with one another about our birthdays (mine passed recently; hers is coming up) and without any notice, as we were wrapping our the bill, the server comes around with two shots and says "Happy Birthday to you, enjoy!" Unreal. Plenty of reviews talk about the food, so I'll let them take the reigns. There is too much to like about Yezo and the food deserves praise. I lived in Thailand for a month and have studied its culinary signatures, so I know the cuisine well. The tom yum noodle soup was delicious; just perfect. I'll leave it at that. Dare I say, one of the best and unique Midtown dining options. Thank you to the team, and until next time!

The food is delicious and May is super sweet and friendly! 100% recommended when you’re around Grand Central / Fifth Avenue areas. The short rib curry is a must order as well as the tom yum soup!

We had such a great time at Yezo! Little and Sean were so sweet and fun. Come at 7 for the happy hour and stay till 8 for the jazz (on Fridays). I got the lychee martini and it was so yummy. And my friend got 3 margaritas 😛

Cozy place with great service & delicious food. We ordered crying tiger, spring rolls, chicken satay & massaman curry with roti for appetizers. Mains was chicken basil, drunken noodles, steak basil & salmon bowl. Everything was super delicious & Molly, our server was very friendly, helpful & efficient. Would definitely recommend this restaurant as must try.

omg this needs to be the best Thai food I’ve had this year so far!!! If you get one thing from the menu, please let it be the short rib massaman, the short rib literally melts in your mouth and the sauce is so good I think I can eat three bowls of rice with it. The mango parfait was also the best way to end the meal, the mango were so sweet.

Lowkey underrated Thai spot. Came around on a Thursday at 6:30 pm, and it was empty besides one table. We made a res but you prob don’t need to. Interior is so cute! - Short rib massaman w/ roti ($34.95): 8/10, pretty good, and it came w/ roti, which the menu didn’t mention! The roti was so crispy and flakey (11/10 stars wow). The actually massaman curry was okay. Thought it would be thicker, but it was lowkey watery, and the potatoes were still kinda hard. Overall flavor was really yummy, and the meat was very tender. Wish there was more meat tho. This same dish at Pranakhon is a LOT better - Pad Thai Yezo w/ chicken ($17.95): 9/10, I actually really liked this! I’m usually not a huge fan of pad Thai, but this one had really good flavor. The chicken wasn’t tough

Fantastic Thai restaurant in midtown east. The interior is so cozy and aesthetic and service was attentive. We had a great meal here and would absolutely come back! Crying Tiger: Grilled NY strip that was flavorful and tender. Also loved the sauce that it came with. I personally prefer my steak a bit more rare, but the flavors delivered Keaw Tod: Crispy fried wontons with a delicious chicken and shrimp filling. Super snackable and great to share Short Rib Massaman: Rich and comforting with tender short rib. Loved the roti to dip into the curry too! Larb Salmon: From the winter seasonal menu. Fresh, citrusy, and tangy in the best way. Definitely balanced out the other dishes Mango Parfait: I didn’t know what to expect but loved this. Think mango sticky rice meets ice cream parfait Drinks: My Summer (mango mocktail): Super refreshing! Melon Lar (melon mocktail): More syrupy than I expected, but still tasty if you like sweeter drinks

This is a good spot for either dine-in after work or for take out. It's 5% off the bill if you pay in cash. I dined in with my partner here for dinner. The food comes out quick and the staff is very nice and friendly.

It was a very busy weekend dinner with the restaurant totally full but the service was slow. It took us a long time to get refills on our water. The food was pretty good and the happy hour was even better so I'd still come back.

The food is delicious. More Thai than Japanese I think. Quite Izakaya style. Restaurant is small, same as the menu. However definitely worth trying. It’s that kind of restaurant that you don’t make a trip to but if you pass by or are around, absolutely worth a try and will not regret for sure. Mocktails are just same delicious!

We went on Mothers Day and the restaurant kindly offered all women a free glass of Sangria, which is really sweet! The chive cake and the beef massaman curry are amazing! Especially the curry, the meat is so soft and tender that it’s super easy to get the meat off from the bone!

In the nabe, Yezo, Japanese-Isan Thai fusion. Good crab fried rice! I’ve only tried takeout but I’ll be back to have sit down. Shrimp fried rice lunch special, and crab fried rice were both really good. They did not skimp on protein. Fun atmosphere. Very nice wait staff. Food prepared fast. Will update.

We had higher hopes for this place. It was a party of two and we made reservations for 6 pm. One of us got there a little early. The place was pretty nice. Bottoms line we made our reservation on time. We prefer some appetizers and drinks. We were not completely sure what to order yet. We placed our main order in by 6: 30 pm. By 6:50pm we had gotten our second request to hurry up because they need the table. Our reservation was for 6 pm and it just seemed they kept just pushing us out. The main courses might have been rushed because it was not the level of taste we were expecting. To bad. The place looks nice but rushing people is not cool

The place is pretty calm and quiet so it’s perfect for catching up with friends, the food is good although the portions are not worth the price. We love the isaan sausage but $16 for 2 small sausages is insane! Yikes!

Staff were friendly and food was good, but the bill was questionable. They mistakenly brought a larger dish (seen in the first two photos I took), which I didn’t touch and immediately declined. My correct order was $9 roti canai (seen in the last photo). It was delicious but a surprisingly small appetizer. Then the bill came and it was $16. Even with the tax and tips included, that’s strange for a $9 order.

The reviews have to be bought. The food was so bland it was crazy. I ordered basil fried rice and chicken satay. The soup was good, but the fried chicken was cold. They must have made it and kept even though I went 5 minutes after they opened. The chicken satay was bland, I have had satay so many times and this was probably the worst. Basil fried rice, the rice was mushy. You are never supposed to use fresh rice for fried rice. I asked for medium spice and it felt like I was eating plain white rice. Service was pretty good.
