Opinions de Ajisai New York
super yummy sashimi deluxe platter. They always have great and friendly service. they don't rush you out and it's a nice food experience.
While traveling in New York, I suddenly craved Japanese food and ended up at this restaurant. I noticed they had pork buns, and they were indeed quite delicious. My favorite here is the whiskey sour—I feel it’s the most authentic one I’ve had in the past few days. The atmosphere is also great, and the staff are very meticulous about cleanliness, making the cocktail preparation process particularly reassuring. I especially enjoy the salmon sashimi—the minced meat paired with the restaurant’s unique sauce makes it truly special. The tender meat in the egg udon is just right, and when combined with vegetables and broth, it feels especially comforting in winter.
Fried chicken rice tastes terrible. It feels like a cold pre-cooked meal heated up. You can only order fish for Japanese food
Hello, I came across this restaurant on the internet. I am a big fan of different sushi dishes, so I would like to go there sometime. The location looks great.
The food is very good. I love it because of how fresh and healthy the food looks when it is served. The truth is that it is a good option to eat there. I went in for sushi and ate a hot plate of chicken teriyaki and it was truly an excellent option on a rainy day, accompanied by a very hot and delicious Miso soup.
This place was great I’m definitely coming back to try other items on the menu I rate 8.5 out of 10 it was me and one other person prices are great although this was my first time here I can say it felt so chill and laid back the servers was great food came out quick the veggie dumplings and bow bun are very good must try the drinks was great if you like wine try the honey plum wine we had got here early so it was empty but I’m sure this place gets packed because the food if for sure good I would definitely recommend this place
I don't really understand how people can give this place below a 5 star. Food is expensive in NYC, to find a place that isn't extremely expensive, but not dirt cheap, and still taste good with fast service, on top of all that, it's sushi, is impressive and satisfying to me. There are A LOT of sushi options, from your typical ordinary roll to creative chef specials that I'd recommend you try. They let their chef experiment, and their customers to experience the experimentation. Would come again, but wouldn't go out of my way entirely because NYC has so many places to try.
Stopped by for a quick lunch. The place is bustling with clients, but the service is quick and the food is awesome. We had some tempura, a sushi lunch box special and teriyaki. The food was so good, I bakery made pictures before it was gone! Nice ambiance, great service and food. Worthy stop for hungry travelers.
Came here for dinner on a weekday. Relatively empty when we arrived at 6 but gradually became a full house as it reached 7. This place has an extensive selection of Japanese, Chinese, and Thai food, so wouldn’t say it’s an authentic Japanese restaurant but more versatile and casual. The rolls special where you get the skinnier rolls x3 was simple and good, the tempura platter with four jumbo shrimp and vegetables were crunchy and a good size for two. The green tea Mochi ice cream was a good way to end the dinner! Staff are friendly too.
Good food but had a very sour experience with a waitress from the beginning she was completely nasty slamming food on table and demanding tips like she deserved any tips are earned not demanded! My friend and I won’t come back sorry.
Be aware of the lunch menu…. I noticed there’s hardly any “crab” meat in the California roll and small shrimp in the tempura roll. I looked at the table next to me and she had a normal amount of crab in her California roll The server said that the “lunch special” gets less crab meat in the California roll and the tempura roll gets the small shrimp lol. I looked at the menu again and saw for $1.50 more I could’ve gotten the regular sized sushi…. Not much of a lunch special…
My favorite place!! Twice we have come at 11AM or even 11:30AM when they open and the chef hasn’t showed up or they aren’t even open or closed last minute. :(. When you have kids with you and ready to have fun, it is very disappointing.
Wonton was okay. The spicy crab meat was "rolling" out (poor food prep). I've had better sushi.
We sat down and was served 2 glasses of water and soup. It took a minute for staff to take our order. Finally placed our order and was disappointed terribly. I asked for my udon noodles with chicken and shrimp to be spicy. I got spoiled, slimy chicken with bland noodles and 1 shrimp. I returned the food. Spider roll was disgusting and service was poor. Language appeared to be a barrier here. The orders were messed up and service very delayed.
I mean the food here was decent, but I was very concerned to see that the restaurant has a “C” health grade posted. More troubling than that, however, was the service. The waitresses were extremely rude and inattentive throughout our visit. It genuinely felt like we were being treated differently and that made the experience even more uncomfortable. The restaurant is not Japanese-owned, which may explain the lack of authenticity and care in both food and service. At times, it felt like they viewed us as an inconvenience rather than paying customers. We were not treated with even basic courtesy, let alone hospitality. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning.
Worst Asian food i ever eaten. The pork buns where a total disaster, couldn't even eat it. A piece of unseasoned fat and a very sad piece of lettuce. Stay away from this place if you want food that actually is edible. The staff was totally uninterested in the guests. A miracle that this place even exists. Would give minus stars if that would be possible.
Found a plastic in my sushi roll and all they did was give a discount on the food. Glad I didn’t swallow otherwise I will sue them if anything happens. They better wish I didn’t get food poisoning from this. The salmon roe tasted funny. Spicy tuna looks very fake and nasty. Does not taste anything like tuna. The texture is like smashed up purée to be honest.
