Our favorite pizza place in the universe. The crust and pizza sauce are out of this world. We had cheese pizza and honestly think that other toppings are not necessary at all. The roasted mushrooms and fettuccine alfredo were very tasty, too.

Holy cow what can I say. Such a great place. How can you argue with New York style coal fired Pizza? The pizza was outstanding from the crust to the sauce cheese and toppings. I'm a pepperoni guy and the pizza did not disappoint. The service was outstanding and one of the best oiled serving systems I've seen in a long time. They crank people in and out and you want for nothing. If you're going to be in the South Central Park area you owe you to yourself to grab some classic New York style pizza here.

Easily the most amazing pie I’ve enjoyed during my visit to NYC this week! The sauce was rich and full of flavor, and the crust had that perfect balance of crispness and softness. We were so eager to dig in that the photo was taken after we had already devoured half of it! The pasta dishes also tasted fresh and seemed to be made right in-house. every bite was delicious. We’re already planning to stop by again the next time we’re in town.

I tried the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and the pepperoni pizza, and both were really good! The Fettuccine Alfredo was creamy, rich, and perfectly seasoned. The sauce had a smooth texture and just the right balance of flavor — not too heavy but still indulgent. The chicken was tender and cooked nicely, blending well with the pasta. The pepperoni pizza was also a hit — very thin crust, crispy on the edges, and topped with just the right amount of cheese and pepperoni. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients in both dishes. The restaurant itself seems to have a bit of a historical background, which adds to its charm and cozy character. It’s one of those places that feels like it’s been loved by the community for a long time. Even at 2:30 p.m. on a Saturday, the restaurant was packed with people enjoying their meals, which says a lot about how popular it is. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They made sure everything was good and checked in at the right times. The service felt genuine and professional. Overall, it was an excellent experience — delicious food, warm atmosphere, and great service.

5/5.. you come for the pizza, but you return for the cheesecake. The pizza is delicious, really it is. Highly worth it the calories. Though the cheesecake is NEXT LEVEL. Simply OMG. Looks simple, but it’s as creamy as hell !! Best one I’ve ever had in my life. A MUST try.

The pizza was incredible! Forget the complimentary bread and save room for the star of the show. The 13” Margherita was thin, crispy, and bursting with flavor. Loved the extra sauce for crust dipping. Next time I will order with extra basil. Worth every bite!

This is real coal oven-baked pizza. Just like its name, the food here is straightforward and honest. The pizza is all about the basics, yet it delivers far beyond expectations — the dough is absolutely delicious. The Caesar salad has a good balance with fresh romaine and a classic dressing. We got the spaghetti pomodoro and a classic cheese pie. TLDR: worth a visit. There was no wait and the server took us right upstairs to a two person table. Service was great and fast to attend to any needs. The pizza was great. Crust had good leopard spotting and a tinge of yeasty flavor (which I like). Sauce was not overpowering and was very tomato-forward. Cheese was not too salty but provided the necessary fat that balanced out the acid. Pricing: Decently good. Not like other places that overcharge for pies (cough trendy locations not to be named cough) Overall: 4.3/5, an average experience

My parents and I needed somewhere to eat, after a long morning of walking around New York. We decided to pop into Angelo’s because their pizza was shown as “coal oven” - something we are more accustomed to back in South Africa. We were incredibly pleased with the flavour, the taste and overall quality of the pepperoni pizza that we shared between the 3 of us that day. My dad went as far as to say that it is the best pizza he has had in the US - after having lived and travelled across the US for the past 10 years now.

We ordered a 17-inch Margherita pizza. The crust was thin and chewy, but the flavor itself wasn’t anything particularly special. The pizza was simple and decent, but the seating was quite tight and uncomfortable. The tables were very close to each other, especially when the place was busy. It’s just a regular, average pizza restaurant.

Ordered some takeout on the weekend. The salad was fantastic and our son really enjoyed the spaghetti. The pizza on the other hand was a little disappointing. We added pepperoni and sun-dried tomatoes and it was overly salty maybe we should have stuck with just the regular old cheese pizza. Will have to try in person next time to see if my opinion will change.

It was quiet last time I visited in the middle of the week around 4pm. Bread comes quick but it isn't necessary. I was disappointed with the ceasar salad, it felt like an afterthought, maybe there should be a wider selection of ingredients for salads. The star of the show doesn't disappoint. The classic cheese and tomato pie is a sight to behold. It's one of the best looking pizzas I've ever seen. Sprinkled basil, vibrant tomato sauce, and oven-fired moz make for a sexy pie. Personally I wasn't the biggest fan of the crust but the mozzarella and tomatoes used were undoubtedly fresh which added to the overall taste factor. To avoid a wait try coming during an off time. I'll be back to try some of their pasta dishes. 8.5/10

The crust on the pizza was great. Very crisp with a mild char flavor. The Arugula and Fennel salad was very good. The cheesecake was mild and tasty, though there was a flavor of garlic in some bites. Now for the bad. We ordered 2 Cannolis and both were subpar. The filling was already melted and saturated into the shell, making it soggy. The flavor was decent, but the textures took this from ok to unpleasant. Would not recommend the Cannoli.

The new location allows 3x more customers but didn't improve the loudness or the constant flow of waiters, preventing any kind of privacy. The cook changed, now non-spicy is already extra-spicy, and I don't dare imagine what "spicy" means. There's only one restroom, causing a permanent line. The young charm is gone and lunch for 2 now adds up to $70. Btw t masala was too tomato-y.
