Opinions de Il Corso New York
Angela the host and our waiter Davide were exceptional. My birthday dinner was a success. Il Corso is a gem of NYC. And you will not regret taking the time to eat at this wonderful restaurant. The truffle pasta with mushroom, the ziti genovese, and the wines and deserts were stand outs. Don’t miss the chocolate cake and ask if they affogato. See you next time! - Dalton
We recently stumbled upon this charming little spot, looking for a quick pre-theater dinner, and were pleasantly surprised. We sampled the homemade pasta pomadoro and homemade pappardelle with lamb Ragu. Both were excellent. The side of broccoli rabe was prepared perfectly and very tasty. We finished with a homemade pistachio tart with a scoop of vanilla gelato. It was absolutely delicious. A great experience!
Walked in with very high expectations based on the reviews—and not only did the restaurant deliver, it exceeded every one of them. The space is cozy, the staff is amazing, and the food was outstanding from start to finish. We began with appetizers, and the zucchini fries were simply amazing. The fritto misto platter could have used a bit more calamari, but what was there was cooked to perfection. The pasta dishes were perfectly portioned, and the entrées were absolutely beautiful when they arrived—every dish was spot on. We had our hearts set on tiramisu for dessert, but unfortunately they had run out for the night. That aside, I truly don’t have much to suggest in terms of improvement—other than maybe a little more calamari. I’m already looking forward to coming back in the summer or when the weather is nicer to try more items on the menu. After chatting with a few regulars who assured me this place lives up to the hype, I can confidently say they were right. Keep up the great work—you should be incredibly proud to deliver this level of service and food, especially on Christmas Eve!
Gennaro and his incredible team continue to out perform themselves. This was my second time visiting NYC and of course, it would not be a trip without dining at Il Corso. Absolutely incredible experience, cocktails, and food is authentic and delicious. I truly cannot thank them enough for their wonderful hospitality. Looking forward to the next visit! Thank you!!
Fantastic! We came here after the parade on Thanksgiving, and even on a busy day they didn’t miss a beat. This is the cutest little Italian restaurant. And our meal and service was perfection from start to finish. The worst part about dining here is trying to decide what to order on their amazing menu. They have so many great choices, and unique dishes that are different from other typical Italian restaurants. We truly enjoyed our experience here, and are looking forward to returning.
@JacksDiningRoom clued me into this gem of a restaurant. The food was fantastic. Words are hard to describe the scrumptious taste. Service was excellent, top notch from the hostess to the coat check. Pablo our waiter was so attentive, and timely. I would highly recommend this restaurant, it is worth the wait for reservations.
This is some of the best Italian I've ever had - even after going to Italy earlier this year. It gives classic New York vibes. Smaller restaurant with cozy lights and seating. Our waiter was extremely helpful giving recommendations. If you order pasta they let you do half portions so you can try two things! The Paccheri alla Genovese was a show stopper, and the tiramisu was the actual best I've ever tasted. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Get a reservation and come enjoy some of the best Italian that will ever grace your tastebuds!
An absolute gem of an Italian restaurant! The seafood spaghetti was simply outstanding – perfectly cooked pasta with the freshest seafood, full of flavor in every bite. The atmosphere was warm and authentic, and the service made the experience even more enjoyable. Truly a place I’d love to come back to again and again!
What a lovely surprise Il Corso was for us! We wanted a nice place for lunch between our visit to the Zoo and the MoMA and Il Corso surpassed expectations well beyond it being conveniently located! The food was tremendous, the service incredibly gracious and accommodating, and the ambience casual and intimate. My daughter loved her parmesan fries and grilled chicken fettuccine Alfredo that they whipped up for her. I had a bite or two and was impressed with the pasta quality. My wife enjoyed her fettuccine Bolognese equally as much, the sauce was perfect. And I enjoyed my endive salad but was in absolute heaven with my succulent filet mignon lathered with an indulgent 4 cheese sauce. Epic. Cocktail was perfect as well, made to my dry sensibility. Special shout out to Genaro, our most gracious host. He was wonderful. Felt like being in Italy again!
We came for an early dinner after visiting MoMa. Service was impeccable. Everything was delicious. We enjoyed a couple of drinks, apps, and pasta. We loved the spaghetti di Mare. Prices were very good, all things considered. Quality isn't supposed to be cheap. At il Corso, you get what you pay for.
Service was absolutely impeccable here! I had the best birthday dinner of my life!! Highly recommend the Cacio e Pepe. Rack of lamb and truffle burrata specials were also amazing. We finished with espresso and homemade tiramisu, which were to die for! I appreciate every little detail. Will absolutely be back!
I visited this restaurant to enjoy authentic, traditional Italian cuisine. The pasta was absolutely delicious, with no unnecessary frills. While the gnocchi didn’t quite meet my expectations, its unique roasted preparation made it less greasy, offering an interesting and memorable experience. The desserts were also delightful, each with its own unique charm.
The menu is solidly traditional and dishes are well presented. We ordered the Farro salad and Polipo to start, both were very good. Our pastas were the Linguine Vongole (my control when trying a new Italian joint) and the Ziti con Agnello ragu. For me, the linguine was close to a fail. Almost tasteless, though the pasta was perfectly al dente and the vongole perfectly steamed. ZIti substituted for the traditional papardelle, which is what this sauce really needs for best taste experience. For dessert, our waiter suggested the Tiramisu, Creme brulee and nutella torte when asked for his top 3. We should have taken his recco. The cannoli was also a fail--the shell too thick, the creme bordering on tasteless. The decibel level is ridiculously loud. YOU WILL BE SHOUTING AT THE TABLE. NOTE: Be careful negotiating the entryway-- a definite liability issue ---almost pitch black , no reflective strip on the edge of the step up into the restaurant doorway and a cavalier attitude of "we know there is a problem there" from the hosting team, when I mentioned it needed some attention. Prices are reasonable. I would go again for lunch to give it another chance, but I do as well out of my own kitchen and pantry on any weeknight.
We came to this place cuz is supposed to have the best pasta in new york. Pasta is just decent nothing special. We also tried the lasagna it was underwhelming it lacks a lot of flavor and the bechamel sauce still tasted like flour. Service was good but I would not recommend this place
