Opinions de Delis 48 New York
Awesome environment and very nice workers! The macaroni is awesome and they have a large variety of food options if you don’t feel like committing to a specific genre of food! Highly recommend!!
Best salad station in town! Unlimited topings! Also have service deli, hot, sushi, and a wonderful udon bar.
Delis 48 is my favorite lunch place in Midtown Manhattan. I eat take out Udon and Miso there every day. Great burgers and fries too. The crew are very pleasant as well. It's a great deli and buffet.
Food are delicious. Friendly staff. Not so expensive. We were there every day. Recommend.
Had bagels, French toast coffee and eggs. Everything was great. Service fast and friendly.
I always eat lunch at this place whenever I go to New York for my work. This place has various choices and the price is reasonable. Especially I love Korean menus here. I tried Spicy Beef soup, Stir fry Bar, and Bulgogi, they are really good, better than other Korean restaurants in NYC. Actually I think it has the best Korean food.. And I tried fried shrimp udon, it was sooooo good!!! I really recommend that udon. Sometimes I just have sandwiches for lunch, they are also very good. I usually order egg, cheese with vegetable one. I highly recommend this place.
Superb early morning selection of foods for a family of five with different tastes and likes. Hot food was delicious and fresh. Very reasonable prices too. Will use again, no questions.
Good place for lunch around the Rockefeller Center area. Good prices and good food. Try the teriyaki, it is made on order so it is not food that has been sitting there for a couple of hours.
I go to Delis 48 three times a week for lunch. It is quite simply the best salad deal in midtown ($11 for unlimited toppings). It's a great salad, and I say this as someone who doesn't especially like salad. What keeps me coming back though is the service. Jennifer and her team are genuinely invested in the health and wellbeing of their customers. Jennifer has even helped me on my quest to find love (the quest is ongoing)! If you're looking for a power lunch spot in Rock Center, forget about Le Rock and Lodi, come to Delis 48.
Every time I come to the city, I always stop at Deli’s 48. Their food is amazing. Their coffee is extraordinary. I would say they got the best coffee.
Great varieties of food to choose from for a healthy, filling meal. Very friendly and accommodating. Well worth visiting, especially if youre from Korea - will be greeted with a hearty welcome.
This deli is Amazing, first and most importantly all the food I have had is fantastic. It’s not the cheapest option but what you get for a few bucks more is worth it. Their wraps, paninis and salads are all either made to order or you can choose some of their ready made options. Everything is fresh and Tastes fantastic. Their salad bar/buffet option is always fresh and just as important as the food is the staff. They are all great, for such a busy place they remember me and they are always in a good mood and happy to help. Plus, it’s one of the fastest options if you are in a rush, forget the chain sandwich stores and get yourself some lunch here if you work in the neighborhood. Portions are very large as well which makes the extra couple of bucks well worth it.
This place made my day. It was extremely early in the morning and -7 degrees Celsius outside, I needed a good place to have a good healthy warm breakfast and just occasionally walked in. It had everything I need, lots of healthy options like porridge, fruits, nuts any warm beverages (many tea sorts). The buffet was very well organized with dishes for every taste, beautifully staged, rice had a nice texture, there were variety of eggs, vegetarian options, meat and sausage, sandwiches, lots of veggies. Stewed sweet potatoes with raisins stole my heart. Think mornings is the best time to come to this deli, because everything is just in time cooked, freshest. Also I liked the little stories on the walls like the “history of noodles dated 4000BC in China”, some inspirational quotes and the welcoming of the diversity. The prices are on the level of NYC, especially given it is promixity to Rockefeller Center. The quality of food in my opinion exceed the price level ( of course it is subjective). The personal was friendly and somehow toned a nice atmosphere (though people have to come to work extremely early to start preparing the buffet). I definitely recommend this place, normally I’m a “grumpy” and “picky” eater.
I work long hours in the city, and this place is quick, efficient, and no-nonsense. I simply come in, grab my items, and go—just like every other busy New Yorker. Their poke bowls are exceptional, and you truly get what you pay for. As a construction worker, I appreciate the fuel I need to power through my day.
I see a lot of negative reviews about racism and the quality of food, in which I do not understand why. I come in at least 2x a week for the lunch buffet, and know for a fact that the food is made fresh everyday and I'm always greeted with a smile and small talk. If you come in around 10-10:30 you'll see freshly made batches of different types of foods from lo mein, pasta, marinated chicken wings, salmon, pork ribs, steamed or grilled vegetables and many. Great for a quick bite. A bit pricey, but reasonable for being located smack in the middle of Manhattan. As for racism, I've never personally felt attacked in any way. The customers are very diverse... Black, Asian, Middle Eastern, White, purple.
Nice place to grab a quick bite around Rockefeller Center. Been here every year or so when I’m here for the holiday season. They also have beer and it’s much cheaper to grab some beer and food here before going out for dinner
Great selection. Self-serve. Hot and cold menu. Had a salad with protein chicken. My son had the buffet. Very good. Good service. Fun spot for lunch while visiting New York.
Delis was clean, the service was fast, and they had a clean restroom for customers to use! So helpful on Thanksgiving day when nowhere else will let you use the restroom, even as a paying customer. They also have a wide array of snacks and drinks!
The food here has me planning my return already. The chef balances technique and taste perfectly. This restaurant delivers what others only attempt. Workers combine menu knowledge with attentive service. Good food came with excellent service.
A food haven in midtown Manhattan theater district. I was impressed by the variety of food - from gourmet coffee, smoothie station, handmade sandwiches. hot and cold salad bar, and even made-to-order noodle kitchen all under one roof. Price was reasonable and dining area was clean and safe. Well-managed and pleasant stop that happily satisfied all hungry stomachs in our tourist group. A gem on 48th St! 😊
This place is awesome, if you want it they have it. Food was hot and delicious. Served quickly with a smile. We are visiting from out of town, this diner is near everything we wanted to be near and priced right. Went back a second time for our last meal while in the city, even better than yesterday since we knew how to order. Sorry about the pic, kids demolished it before I could get a good picture.
Huge selection of food. Fast and affordable. Seems like I was the only person from out of town eating there at the time I went in on Saturday morning. Lots of local people (construction workers) on their way to work.
Clean, great variety, reasonably priced. You can get miso soup with vegetables--great healthy meal for less than $4. Noodle soups too. Steam and refrigeration tables have great variety. Panini, sushi, salad bar, and staples you might find in a bodega. Lines can get long but they're very fast. Limited seating at the front window and a couple small tables. Go-to.
Prices are slightly expensive but they do offer a large variety of food from cold cuts to udon and a whole buffet. There is extra seating upstairs and free wifi. Currently, as of 11/09, they do have a B rating from sanitation.
Various options to choose from. One thing I didn't like is that they are not naming the food properly in the buffet table. I felt difficult to choose food as per my choice as I don't eat meat. Or I suggest arranging meat and non meat foods separately. This would help people like me to pick their food without any worries.
It was late in the evening and we stopped by with my wife. You have many choices between pasta burger, wraps, bbq chicken... I tried the chicken wrap and my wife a bacon cheeseburger. Both meals were good and not expensive especially regarding the area (very close to Timesquare) A cheap and good place
A great little deli just around the corner from Rockefeller Plaza - perfect for a quick bite, or when you just need to get out of the crowds. They offer a lot of different options and the store is bigger than it seems at first. There is even seating upstairs in the back!
Some of the food was good and I agree it was pricey. But come on you’re in NYC what do you expect. And I don’t know what the other dude Joe,is talking about they’re asking for proof of vaccine not if you’re illegal or not.
Prices on the grill aren’t too bad but I can’t say the same about the buffet. I usually come here from Rockefeller since it’s open late. The freshly squeezed OJ is good too.
Good choice of food, fresh and tasty wraps etc almost too much to eat. Plenty of seating when eating in. Reasonable prices. Staff could be more friendly.
Be smart & this place works Forget the self-serve buffet that anyone off the street can contaminate. The prices by weight are quite insane. Why the guys upstairs blow their paycheck on overpriced beer I cannot understand. But, the made to order salads (only weekday hours) and deli sandwiches are a decent choice. Prices have gone up as with everywhere else. Lots of other grab and go options. So many nearby restaurant options are forever gone. Covid has ruined everything.
Foods are delicious more likely indian food in midtown. Need 1 star for air conditioning upstair. However had a good taste.
The food is always great. There are different stations for certain foods, like the salad station, paninis, Asian food, sushi, juice bar. In the middle of all that, there is the 9.99 per pound buffet that has a hot side and a cold side, ranging from veggies to fried chicken. They do sell alcoholic beverages as well as regular sodas and juices. There’s a lot of options for seating although it does get a little tricky during lunch.
No a bad place .. to eat. For good .. some healthy restrooms ..is there.. alot of settings. But. Have to mention. Be very careful with your belongings. You could lose it ..if you turn you back Just like. I did a few hrs ago I went up stairs where you can sit . I forgot my bag I came back .. in 30 seconds .. it was gone . Had to call the police .. nobody .. the cameras etc who took it .. they the manager staff.were not to forth coming and helpful with the incident.. I lost thousands of dollars in valuables that day
My guess would be that there will bad reviews from local NYC residents but that's not me. I'm a country guy was visiting NYC as a tourist. My wife and I plus 3 exchange high school students spent the morning around Rockefeller Center and NBC. It was lunch time and we went walking and came upon this place. Having high school kids from Eastern Europe, I thought this would be good since such a huge selection. We all thought it was great. We went in got food and got a seat right away. Place was clean and the food was great and affordable. I would think that lunch is probably their busiest time.
It's ok here. The food is a bit overpriced and not really worth it, the Wi fi is spotty, but, you can relax here late afternoon have a beer and just kick back. When there's a sporting event (the World Cup for example) this place is too much fun because it tends to attract a rowdy crowd.
Busy, but fast checkout. 3 stars because buffet is over priced. You can eat lunch at Del Frisco's for same price as 1/2 a large container. It seems like they weigh down the food to add cost.
This place is mediocre at best, The Cook staff gives you ample amount of food when you order a Burger and fries. Cost is $10 and change. Free wifi. But that's when the good part ends. The Asian cashier lady insisted I get charged $11 for getting pickles on my burger and all my burger deluxe had was onion, ketchup and pickles (Doesn't seem to Deluxe to me). And another visit I had 2 scoops of Rice and six dumplings and the total was $24?! Even for the area, that's overpriced. Go to McDonald's or 5 Guys nearby! Or even Kitchen Paradise, mediocre Chinese is better than mediocre overpriced Chinese!
Not as great as I had hoped. For the fried rice and lo mein; both not very warm. My husband loved the sushi although. He says it's fantastic. No plates?? Just put food in a plastic container and eat it out of that... Which I find weird. Fair pricing. It's alright but I don't think I'd come again.
This place is convenient and the food is pretty good. The salad bar is a great deal, but everything else is not. I just paid $7 for a Barbell protein bar, which is price gauging to the nth degree. My fault I guess for not asking and being too afraid to say never mind to the checkout lady, but that’s honestly ridiculous. I also suspect that they sometimes get creative with food weight calculations for the hot bar.
The food isn't bad, the prices are Extremely High. Open Buffet, grab food from bottom, never know what's been flying around. The Soup is really good, however I the knucklehead Mexican mixing the Beef Chili Soup with the Vegan Soup. I made the Idiot throw it out Completely, how the Hell do you mix a vegan soup with meat Soup.Cheap Labor is Very COSTLY!!!
Been coming here a long time. Convenient because it is close to work. But FILL YOUR WALLET. Food is good, I will give them that BUT you OVER pay by far. Salad bar both hot & cold $13.99 lb. So if you are a vegetable eater, you lose. You don't walk out of there with a less than $12 - $17 lunch. Also if you want it or not they charge you for a plastic bag. My boss complained one day when they raised the prices for the SECOND time, and the managers response? DON'T COME HERE ANYMORE.
Do not get bacon in your breakfast. It’s probably days old being recooked. It’s like chewing on rocks. Also never know what kind of mood the cook is in. Very unpleasant
The deli guys seriously need to go or this place is gonna end up shutting down. They’re super rude, the deli meats are always dry and honestly look unsanitary. They make up prices and charge people different amounts. Everyone else behind the counter is fine. This used to be the best deli around, but it’s gone downhill big time.
The price is the issue. I got the same quantity of food as a $15 lunch combo next door yet its $25. When a sit down restaurant is cheaper than a buffet style salad bar then it isn't really worth the value
Horrible tuna melt penini tastes like Sardin and its smooshi . French fries is beyond Frozen.
Sooo expensive for awful food Tha cashier woman was so rude!! Do not waste your money in that place.
Cheff is so cranky you almost wana throw the hot food on his face ….twice
Dont bother on weekends. 75% of the buffet is shutdown. Despite a lack of customers they will not serve a breakfast item after the official hour that breakfast ends.
The food is good and they have a lot of options but none of it is worth it when you go to check out. They overprice everything, when you could go to any other store nearby and save so much more for the same items
Not good as said to be. My friends went here one night, said they had a great time and enjoyed a decent meal. They bring me and another with them the next morning and, we were told to leave and that it was closed, even though its a 24/7 restaurant.
I have been having their "unlimited"salads for a little while and I am thinking of not going back there again. For one, the unlimited salads are kinda limited, if you take into account discouraging attitudes from the servers as you add stuff on to your salad and wisecrack comments like "okay that's enough". I mean. There is a particular server, short guy in specs, who will give you a bad attitude and pretend not to hear you at times. And then a bearded one who hurls the wise sayings, as if he is controlling your life. For the owners - if you pride yourself on providing unlimited salads and are advertising it and charging for it, have the guts to live up to it. And get a few new servers for some of the ones there are just not doing a good job and leaving a bad taste in our mouths.
The food is good, but horrible that amount of disrespectful and irreverent drunks all the time. I don't recommend going, these people steal your peace of mind, they play canteen music at full volume, they talk loud... I won't be back
Way overpriced. Nothing better than day old leftovers. Only thing that have going for them is location. Do yourself a favor and walk a little out of your way to avoid this place.
From first impressions, I thought that this was going to be a pretty good place..... It seems that I was wrong. For some reason, I was told to "GET OUT, YOU NO EAT HERE" by some man. Seeing that he came from the office, he might pressumably be the owner of the place. And he tells me to get out???? It's a 24/7 service!!! And his reason was that I'm yellow??? Unacceptable
How in this earth I ask the deli guy for a philli cheesesteak with everything and he gives me the steak with peppers and onions and american cheese and charge me 11 bucks? No mayo, no lettuce, no tomato and the worst is the skinny small hero. First and last time I’m coming in here for hot sandwiches because you will get robbed at gunpoint. Horrible.
Been going to this place because unfortunately i work in the area and the other options are a sit down lunch which I have no time for. The buffet is way overpriced-$13.99 per pound!. A small container with barely any food in it (which if they charged a fair price should at most be $5) will definitely cost you $9+. I laugh at tourists who take a big container and pile it on (there is good variety - food being just OK). They must have quite a surprise at the register! I do not recommend - go elsewhere and pay a lot less.
You might be looking for a cheap place to grab a quick bite. Then don't go there. If you fill up the bowl, it'll cost you more than a fine restaurant. With this price, I'd rather find a proper restaurant. Also, the seats upstairs was noisy and didn't feel safe with lots of drunk people.
If I could give this business a 0 I would, These people are overpriced and their service is horrible. I do not recommend this place at all save yourself the money and the hassle and spend your money some where else. This place should be closed down. I also agree with the bad treatment to people of certain color and race even from the men who make the sandwiches who look like they should be a little more friendly. Honestly just dont go here.
Paid $25.00 for the order. Went to the ice machine to get literally a few cubes of ice to add to the drink I had. The stupid casher told me I had to pay for the ice. Returned the order. How do you people hire someone that dump? Who would harass a customer over a few cubes of ice? It's common sense. I never though this level of stupidity even exists. I will never step foot in this establishment again.
Yeah, the rating says it for itself. I came in expecting a great food experience but when I walked in, the manager eyed me then called me a racial slur. Let’s not talk about the food either, so disgusting to the point there was a hair in my food. DO NOT GO HERE.
Bought a small container of fried rice. Cost 30.97 USD for 0.25 pounds of rice. This is a cost of 120 dollars a pound for rice. Ridiculous. Sad part is that is was not that good Cashier had a big attitude problem when I asked why they charged so much. Told me is I don't like it to go somewhere else. So in the future I will. Good luck with this place !!!! Update: After several months and over 1000 views still no reply from management on my review. Says a lot!
Delis 48 cooks their food in OLD PORK OIL! I was told today by the breakfast cook, after I told him to please not do that as I am a vegetarian. He stated it's not going to change that's how we cook. WELL there goes the vegetarian neighborhood! HE WAS RUDE! McDonalds was sued by the vegetarian community due to them cooking the fries in meat oil. THIS IS NOT A VEGETARIAN / VEGAN FRIENDLY PLACE! DON'T GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The worst food and service in the city. And yes most importantly, overpriced for such disgusting food and service. Especially the rice dishes in buffet were half cooked. The front Asian guy at the counter seemed so rude, as if we weren’t welcomed. Shame on such a food place, situated in such a prime location across the globe. I absolutely not recommend this place at all. The management at Delis 48 should think about Food quality, staff behavior, and the pricing.
Cheater!!! Almost $50 for two bowls! I should put both bowls on the scale and they billed two this two times, so 4 times the price! Then said the card payment didn't work the first time (Apple Watch), try again (physical Credit Card, the same as with the watch), it shouldn't have worked again, had to pay cash. Thank god I see credit card charges in the app for my credit card. The first payment worked, but thank God the transaction was blocked by my provider on the second. I'm back in the store, statement: Can't be true what I am saying! Then asked to see the receipts from the credit card machine and look, the first booking was booked without any problems! Cash reclaimed and returned! The game is designed for tourists and a scam! There was an elderly lady and a teenager behind the cash register. HANDS OFF! NEVER again!!!
COMPLETELY RACIST. DONT GO HERE. The psycho clerk screamed rudely at my wife to get out and accused her of not being a paying customer. We literally just got coffee and sat down. There were plenty of other customers, and dozens of cops, but she singled out my wife because she is black. She then yelled at the cops to drag drag her out, and I was right in front of her next in line to pay. I told her she was disgusting and racist, and she didn't care. The cops ignored her, and told my wife to calm down. Disgusting!!!!
i used to go to this place frequently for breakfast. won't be doing that any longer. cook got mad that i asked him to wipe the tuna fish off of his knife before he cut my egg and cheese wrap. he gave me the finger and charged me $2 more than the item normally costs. never going back, and that's too bad.
I will never go back there. Rude and unfriendly woman at the cash. With her white face like porcelaine. She is really disagreable. Food is expansive even good. The room upstairs is really dirty and so many drunk people stand there for hours. Moreover the famous cashier adds à kind of tax when you Pay with card, which seems illegal in New York state. She doesn't give the receipt on purpose. Go anywhere else but here. Thos woman is a dragon.
I eat here every Sunday morning a long tuna sandwich with alapino. It would cost $10 to $10.50 . Today the cook charged $12.50 for the same order same quantity. I asked him why the extra charges for which he failed to come up with a convincing reason. I don’t recommend this store. By the way I don’t tip unless it’s delivery or fine dining. If he is mad because of that then sorry I can’t help it. I don’t tip at McDonald’s or Starbucks. They should feel happy that at least I come there as a customer. If he is not happy with the wages, he should ask the owner for the raise. The cook may not care but the store owner lost a customer today.
They are violating NY state law by charging consumers more for using a credit card. That is illegal. And it will be reported to the Attorney General. Highly illegal and clear THEFT! From NY DOS website: “Many consumers and businesses are confused when it comes to surcharges in the marketplace,” said Secretary of State Rossana Rosado, who oversees the New York State Division of Consumer Protection. “New York businesses must advertise accurate prices. A business may offer a discount if consumers pay in cash, but cannot charge more at the register simply because a consumer uses their credit card.” If you cannot afford merchant service fees then stop taking credit cards or raise your prices. It's quite simple. But this new policy is illegal and you will be reported. It's going to cost you more in violations that you will receive from NYS.
It was 11:20am and the person behind the deli counter refused to sell me a piece of bread because it wasn’t 11:30am I had purchased some beef there and I needed the roll to make my sandwich. The manager arrived as I requested a full refund and wasn’t interested in eating from this establishment again
I used to come here everyday for my breakfast sandwich the past 6 years… NEVER AGAIN ! I saw they had chicken cutlets at 1030 all done and ready and I asked the same Guys who make my breakfast sandwich if I could just have chicken cutlet and American on a roll.. that’s it !! He said no it’s breakfast.. but they have hot food out at the buffet and he literally had to just cut up a cutlet 2 feet from where he is and slap on a piece of cheese…. But the guy RUDELY SAID NO ! I can’t believe this I will never go back !
Horrible just horrible please do not come here there are plenty of other delis around by with better more clean selections
I rarely put bad reviews but this one just ridiculous and rude, and discriminate Asian. With 2 young kids and want to grab some quick food, the staff just shushus away at 1030pm. And back to the hotel and know it's the only 24hrs store, and they are famously rude!!!! What a nice travel experience in a most famous travel city.
This is the second time it has happened. Last time, I got an egg and cheese sandwich and asked for mayo and ketchup, but he barely put any on. Today, I went to get a bagel with veggie cream cheese, and I barely got any cream cheese, and it wasn’t even spread out properly. The bagel is not even fresh. I ignored it last time, but I couldn’t this time. I’m never going to go there again. They just want to get rid of the line, not serve customers properly.
I came to this store to buy two smoothies. I have purchased smoothies here before with my friends, so I knew they were available. When I asked the staff how to order, I was directed to a female staff member. I told her I wanted smoothies and asked to add protein and chia seeds. Because my English is not very fluent, I showed her a translation to explain clearly. She suddenly told me that smoothies were not sold here, even though I had bought them at this store before. When I asked again, she told me to choose the ingredients to add. After I made my selections and explained what I wanted, she ignored me and started talking to another customer behind me. After she finished speaking to them, I tried again to ask if smoothies were available. She repeated that I should choose ingredients. After I finished choosing, she continued to ignore me and spoke to others instead, even though I was standing right in front of her. At that moment, I even wondered if I had done something wrong. But customers should not be treated differently simply because they are not fluent in English. I came here as a paying customer and only wanted to place an order. In addition, her tone was very loud and rude throughout the interaction. This experience was extremely disappointing. I believe the staff’s service attitude needs serious improvement. I used to like the food here and found it convenient, but after this experience, I may not return.
I was double-charged at this deli on November 18th. My card didn’t go through the first time, and the cashier ran it again — resulting in two charges at the exact same minute. I called the store repeatedly for two weeks, and every time they told me to “wait for the payment to clear.” Once both payments fully cleared, they refused to refund the duplicate charge unless I returned in person, even though I clearly explained I don’t live in NYC. This is extremely unprofessional and feels intentionally scammy. On top of that, the food was hygienically unacceptable. People upstairs were drunk and vomiting, and nobody from staff checked or cleaned anything. My friend and I even got stomach sick afterward, which is honestly on us for eating from an open menu that was sitting out all day with zero hygiene control. Avoid this place — the service is dishonest, the hygiene is terrible, and they will not help you if their staff double-charges your card.
11.16.The staff member at the cooking section refused to sell me a sandwich because I asked for it to be made the way I wanted for $7.50 instead of $9.50, which he insisted on. He walked away, gave me an annoyed look, and never came back. Extremely unprofessional behavior. No one ended up serving us, and I didn’t even know that was possible.
I’m really disappointed with this place. The staff making the sandwiches are not friendly at all – it feels like they don’t care about the customers. On top of that, my bagel with cream cheese was a joke. They barely put any cream cheese on it, just a thin smear that made the whole thing dry and tasteless.
I recently visited this deli and was very disappointed by the lack of hygiene and cleanliness. The cashier seemed careless when preparing food, with no attention to basic cleanliness standards. It made me very uncomfortable to eat there. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning, as I don’t feel confident in the safety and quality of the food being served. I hope they address these issues, but until then, I can’t recommend this deli. I usually avoid writing negative reviews, but I felt this one was necessary
DONT GO HERE. RACIST. The Deli48 deserves ZERO stars. RACISM AT ITS PEAK. I was vaction with my white husband decided to stop in for some coffee. My husband went to pay while I was sitting. She told her waiter to remove me from the chair and remove all chairs around despite me telling her and waiter my husband was sitting there. At the register, my husband told her she was disgusting and rude! Long story short, cops were there and did nothing. We left. Worst experience on a vacation!! Imagine blatant racism at this day and age.
OVERPRICED- Don't stop. I should've read the reviews. I was looking for something cheaper and quick. Buffet food looked good and some of it was, but @ $13.99/lb it ads up quick. I had a less than full container, mostly with starches and it was almost $35 out the door with a drink and the surcharge no one disclosed about using a card. I could've eaten more food in a sit down restaurant for cheaper
