Opinions de Financier New York
The food is quite good. I had a sandwich and a pastry. As a French person, I have to say they were pretty legit. The placw had plenty of seating and it's in a great location.
I would rate it 6 if possible! We were sitting in an area that had a reservation coming up and the staff approached us with utmost professionalism - polite and deeply apologetic even though it was not even a big deal. We were working so they also arranged for a new table that's close to the outlet - this is amazing service and to be honest, hotel chains like Hilton next door should really start doing their hiring here instead of having stone-faced reception people to "welcome" their guests. 100% will be back again!
Simple menu but food tasted excellent Clean & bright space, but limited seating with mostly high tables Pleasant & efficient staff
Best croissants in Manhattan and great espresso. Plenty of seating, including some outside. Quick service even when the lines are long. They have lots of other pastries and nice looking sandwiches, though i'm only every here for breakfast.
I come to town three times a month for business purposes, and I simply cannot come home without bringing my daughter your mushroom soup. This bakery is absolutely the best experience, but unfortunately on my last visit on March 12, around 9:45 am there was a young man with long hair who was extremely rude to me.. I am aware that the menu is frequently updated, and soups are not prepared until after a certain time, typically around 9:30. Upon my arrival, the usual level of crowding was moderate, but the establishment always maintains a smooth flow. I decided to approach the side to inquire about the readiness of the soups, in order to avoid make a line if the soup was not ready. . However, this gentleman rolled his eyes and instructed me to go to the end of the line. I chose to disregard his rudeness and proceeded to join the line... When it was my turn, I apologized for my earlier question, as I had bo problem joining the line if the soup was ready. However, he completely disregarded my apology and said, "What do you want?" This was quite rude and unprofessional. I responded, " wow, Your service is excellent, do you have the mushroom soup?" To which he replied, "No."What else you want. On that particular day, they had a delightful honey rose chai on the menu that caught my attention. I was eager to sample the Newyoker sandwich, but unfortunately, with that type of attitudeno one will want to ask anything else. So, I inquired if they would be preparing the soup today, so I could return later on. The response was, "I don't work in the kitchen, I dont know" I respectfully asked if someone could find out, but was met with a firm refusal. "No, I can't move from here" That was enough for me. So I asked him ... Can i ask someone else? He completely ignored me, so I decided to head towards the coffee station. As soon i stepped, I encountered a gentleman who I believe is responsible for cleaning the establishment. He possessed a higher level of education than the cashier and informed me that he wouldn't be able to provide information but he led me to another gentleman, who was extremely polite, and he kindly informed me about the soups of the day, leak and potatoes. Unfortunately, he mentioned that they would not be preparing the mushroom soup on that day. I have visited this French bakery twice on a particular day. On my first visit, I was informed that they were not yet ready. I decided to take a stroll around the area as I needed to pick up a soup for my daughter. Upon returning, I was greeted with a less than pleasant demeanor from the employee. This behavior made me lose interest in any other purchases from the establishment. . I believe that if someone is not in the mood to interact with customers, it might be more suitable for them to work in the back where they won't be disturbed and won't need to disrupt someone else's business due to their bad day. This place, despite this unfortunate experience, is truly exceptional. It is an authentic French bakery with everything at the highest standards. I would definitely recommend it and plan to return, hoping not to encounter the unpleasant and rude employee.
I am in NYC for work this week and was introduced to this gem by my manager. I had a lovely mozzarella, tomato and rocket sandwich for lunch. Delicious. As a sweet treat I had a chocolate cookie and, it was amazing.
Love this place! Great coffee and superb croissants! Comfortable seating. They serve some lunch items and pastries as well
A stunning slice of Paris in the heart of Midtown, offering buttery, flaky pastries and a sophisticated atmosphere that's perfect for a chic coffee break.
Got a perfect turkey-pesto-tomato baguette for lunch, dessert pastries and chocolate dipped cookies to take home, and everything looked and tasted amazing. The baguette is exactly how it should be, crunchy outside, soft inside, and just the right thickness. Coffee was also excellent! I haven’t tried the quiche and soups yet, but clearly one can enjoy all 3 meals here. Definitely great spot for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack (they have spacious self-service seating) but I would also come here to grab an early, quick dinner pre theatre. So great to have L’Ami Pierre in this neighborhood!
Finally found a little oasis in Manhattan where to find warm croissants, pains au chocolat and so much more. A real taste of France in Big Apple. A must try: The “Jambon beurre” made to order. Salade ingredients local farmed and seasonal tarts. Bravo Chef Éric and Pierre for letting us feel at home.
The croissant are beyond good; their are legitimate French croissants exactly as you would find in France. This is baking art, and you won’t regret it.
Truly one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The butter & ham combo is delicious, and the quality of the ham is top-tier. They’re famous for their bread too (and now I understand why!!!!). Was never a big ham/butter sandwich girl, but L’Ami Pierre changed my mind! Not to mention, the atmosphere & service are both incredible — it’s one of my favorite spots in NYC.
really nice spot close to broadway. solid spot to grab a coffee and sit & get some work done. great service.
L’Ami Pierre is one of my favorites cafe ,I love the coffee. It’s so smooth and tasty ,the pastry is also fresh out from ovens. It tastes phenomenal and there are so many options I could pick, it’s been my favorite cafe since they opened. The owner and staffs were very nice, welcoming and friendly. Pimlada (Thailand’s fan )
Excellent! Yea and coffee were served at the right temperature, food was fantastic it felt like home back in France, and great service :) Merci!!
Coffee is so good. Pastries too - exquisite. Nice place, near hot spots but a bit away from crowds.
I stopped here before a Broadway show and since I didn’t have much time I only order a croissant and this was one of the best croissants I’ve ever had.
The croissant almost made me cry! People may have different opinions about the best croissant in town, to me, whenever the croissant reminds me of Paris, I’d consider it as the best one. The staff (maybe the owner) who chatted with me in French, he was super nice and warm. It was such a delightful snack time after visiting Moma. Highly recommend!
This is THE BEST french bakery in NYC. Period. Bread is authentic. Pastries are just like in France (taste and size). AND the owner is super cool. I had the opportunity to meet him while visiting this location and he spent time telling me about why his bread was so light, introduced me to some of his staff. Where else does this happen?! This is a MUST if you're in NYC!
Fantastic pastries and espresso beverages. We tried the chocolate financier, macarons, and mochas - all met and exceeded expectations. Highly recommend trying the violet macaron, as recommended by the team!
My friend invited me many times to try this place And I always get coffee and pastries, this is the first time I visit this place . Amazing gem in midtown for coffees and French pastries for breakfast or a snack. I do love the special Valentine chocolate tart 💙cover with small chocolate tiny balls and dried strawberries 🍓 The staff was exceptionally friendly. Thank you, L’Ami Pierre!
Jambon Gruyère was lunch today. I have eaten at L’Ami Pierre a few times since it opened. At that time Chef Eric Ripert of Le Bernardin, was also consulting here but has since left. The Jambon Buerre sandwich was top notch and one that I enjoyed. Today something seemed different and I think it was the butter which didn’t taste French with that “je ne sais quoi” taste. Not only do I bake with a variety of French butters I always stick them to enjoy at home. Their flavor is unmistakable. The man who made my sandwich insisted that it hadn’t changed and would ask the chef. I knew it was different. Ring a Saturday most of the pastries were gone as I would have liked to have one. The array of biscuits, preserves and chocolates were still there but in a far smaller capacity. Two unisex restrooms are available and they are large and clean. It’s lovely to sit here and read as no one is hurrying you out. On the weekdays this may be a different matter as it does get busy.
The first time I came here, I was having a bad day. The owner happened to be there and was working with the staff and spoke to me in French and gave me a free fresh chocolate chip cookie. It made my day so much brighter and a returning customer. I always get the cookie when I come in now and love their lunch options. Now it’s my go to spot and a place I bring any family or friends that happen to visit the city. Everything is delicious, freshly made, and has amazing flavor. Some things I’ve had: Mocha Lattes Chocolate chip cookies Soba noodles Croissant Pain au chocolat Macrons Pesto pasta Every item is a 100/10 And I plan to expand this list.
This is the new venture between Pierre Raberin and Eric Ripert (Le Bernardin). The quality and atmosphere reflects such. The long-time Sous chef from Le Bernardin, Erik Fricker, is overseeing the in-house production of all the food. This place features the highest quality coffees and scratch made food. The “grab and go” packaging makes it easy to eat on site or take out. They also offer catering options Additionally, there are boutique, artisan French grocery items for items for purchase including candies, chocolates, and preserves
Arguably, L'Ami Pierre has one of the best croissants and baguettes in the city. Such a treat to work right next door!
Would have liked more small tables, but I would happily sit at a long table with strangers to enjoy a pastry and coffee at L'Ami Pierre anytime! The crumble raspberry and latte I ordered were perfect for a morning treat!
Yes! Of course, a Valentine’s cake at L'ami Pier !!! This is an absolutely brilliant, genius cafe in New York, Manhattan 🗽❤️ It’s my most favorite place!!! Every single time, both my husband and I each of us individually getting huge pleasure from coming here... The staff is amazing: cheerful, kind, and warm, right up to the very last customer before closing every time! I’m in love with the energy of this place. And I truly consider it the best cafe in New York out of all the experiences we’ve had during our 3 years of living here.
If you’re pining for a taste of France, this is a place to bite into a freshly baked pain au chocolat or pain au raisin with a delicious coffee confection or jus d’orange. I had the white peppermint mocha (not very French but oh quite délicieux) and Husband had the flat white. Both were top notch. Atmosphere is nice and reminds me of the food places in La Défense. Modern lighting and displays with hip music going. I’d go again.
Delightful! Staff was friendly and coffee was excellent. Loved the beautiful presentation of this mocha! I’ll be back!
Great spot for a quick bite. The sandwiches can be served warm and everything was quick and delicious. What a great spot. I hope you’re fortunate enough to be there when pastries are warm out of the oven. Yum.
Last Saturday, we had the chance to visit this place, which we had already heard great reviews about, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The café is beautiful, and both the coffee and desserts were delicious. We were helped by Fernanda, who was incredibly kind and respectful and made us feel right at home. I went with my mom, and the fact that Fernanda could speak Spanish with her truly made her day, something we really appreciated. It was a very special experience, and we will definitely be coming back.
Stopped with Gabe, my special needs ward (he is deaf mute visually impaired and has the mind of a 6 to 8 year old), for breakfast and we were sitting at the high tops, he chose that over a table, and I guess he leaned or something but went over backwards. The people here, amazing responses, between staff and customers alike, almost everyone jumped up to help him up and check on him. One man basically lifted him after Gabe said yes please while I was trying to hold his hand to lift him and wouldn't have made it without the help. One of the employees quickly offered to replace his food that hit the floor and did just that. We got him seated at a short table and a few folks come to ask if he was OK and were concerned. He is saying he's perfectly fine, but put me through a huge scare watching him fall, but the people of New York aren't as bad as media tries to make them out to be. I felt love and compassion and concern all around us. Top notch establishment as well for their fast assistance.
L’Ami Pierre is exactly the kind of fast-casual spot I look for near Times Square—clean, bright, and stocked with the essentials. The setup feels efficient without being sterile, and everything is laid out so you can get in, pick your favorites, and head back out into the city. I grabbed an almond croissant to go, and it was surprisingly delicate for a place that moves this fast—flaky layers, just the right sweetness, and still warm when I opened the bag. Their menu covers all the bases, from fresh Caesar salads to daily sandwiches, so it’s easy to mix healthy options with a quick treat. Service was quick and friendly, the space looked spotless, and despite the rush outside, it felt calm inside. For a reliable bite steps from the chaos of Times Square, L’Ami Pierre delivers.
Fantastic French bakery in the heart of NYC! We went here back in Jan 2025 before a trip to the MOMA on our last day in the city and it was a really great spot. Not cheap (like most places in NYC) but the patisserie was very authentically French, as good as I’ve had in Paris and French bakeries in London. I got the turkey and Swiss cheese savoury croissant and a pain au raisin and both were delicious. Super flakey and freshly baked. For ☕️ I then tried the not so French s’more latte which was also really tasty (very sweet and the marshmallow on top was 🤤). Whilst I was sad to have only discovered this on the last day it was probably a good thing as I had lots of places I wanted to try elsewhere.
I needed a place for a quick bite with a friend. Surprisingly, all bakeries/cafes in the area are closing at 5-6 pm. This one is open till 7 pm. Yeah! They didn't have many choices this late, but enough to choose from. I got lemon merengue tart and my friend got a quiche. Both were good. I would prefer the pastry base to be a little bit more thinner in lemon merengue tart, but that's not critical We enjoyed our time. The space is not crowded, enough sitting. I will definitely come here again when in the area.
13 Feb 2024 Great coffee, scrumptious savoury breakfast options that being heated up before serving 🤤 quiche is a must try! 🥰 also a decent choice of salads, sandwiches and most beautiful looking sweet pastries. Enough seats for about 30 people. Polite and helpful staff 🤩👍 lovely way to start a day in a big city 🗽
A great selection of French delicacies. The most perfect croissant and baguette I’ve found in the city. The sandwiches are overstuffed and the soups are delicious. The quiches and deserts are delicious. I’m sure I left something out, but you get the point. And finally the staff is incredible.
I had a Crème Brûlée Madeleine, which was very good and buttery like it is in France! Staff is friendly too.
Ok for a fast breakfast, croissant and coffee is good. Prices too high for what they offer. Interieur very basic.
On a second visit for breakfast on 9/28/23 I was throughly disappointed ☹️ The pastries all had a psychedelic glaze that made them truly unappetizing. No sandwiches on sight - now they are made to order - which an overworked, skeleton crew of two would have taken 1/2 an hour to make not to mention the baguettes looked like they had been taking Ozempic: skinny and overbaked. I ordered a premade croissant with scrambled eggs, which I asked to be reheated but that was not possible since their only toaster oven was out of order. Nothing can be more nauseous than cold scrambled eggs, so took one bit and left the rest. The cafe au lait was DOA. The only explanation I can have for this precipitous fall from grace is that the original owner of this place is no longer there. I never had a baguette that tasted this good before, even though my local French patisserie has inspired a pilgrimage. But after a bite of Lodi’s brie and turkey sandwich so sublime, this will be my new place of worship. Their baguette has a thin crust that does not scratch the palate and a soft crumb that gently cede the stage to the filling. The interior was well appointed, well lit and relaxed, while the staff was courteous and well trained. The only suggestion I have is to write all the sandwiches names on the overhead board-with a description. During my visit there were only two sandwich names on the board and five different offerings on the counter. For a place built on efficiency if one starts asking questions to the cashier about what are the other three, this tends to slow the line and increase the sound of tapping feet behind one.
Was desperately craving a proper jambon beurre. Got it here and also the soup of the day which was a nice tomato soup. The size of the soup was pleasantly massive, gonna be taking most of that to-go. Baguette was great, lovely texture. I’m docking a star just cuz I love a nice slathering of butter, and I had to triple check my sandwich while I was eating if there was any butter at all. I’m still half convinced they forgot the butter. Vibes here are great; cute and looks like there are nice salads and cookies I might try next time. They also have some European looking juices which I might grab on my way out.
I found the perfect place for a slow morning near Times Square. This cafe is a true gem. I loved sipping hot soup on a winter morning while watching the city go by from the window. Their eclairs and croissants are also excellent. Want a good breakfast with that classic, fast-paced New York hustle? This is it.
I'm glad I discovered this spot and shall definitely return! My Caffè latte and sandwich were v good, the latter reminiscent of the baguettes jambon i used to enjoy in Paris, though a bit on the salty side. I also ordered a beignet which was less good, alas. Service is also excellent
Not worth 4.6 stars, they need to re-heat their expensive sandwiches and fuillettes better, staff (three people idle behind the counter) didn’t care to check if the food was correctly heated. Not impressed.
Great croissant and cruffin, didn’t like the savoury items much, otherwise bakery items were good
I tried their vanilla eclair which I thought was okay, a 75 out of a possible 100 rating. It seems to get its strongest flavor from the white icing on top of it rather than the filling. I have had more flavorful eclairs elsewhere. I also had their brewed coffee which, at any place you buy coffee, the taste can depend on what time of the day you buy it. At any place it can be great when freshly brewed in the early morning and ordinary at 5 pm. I had it at 5 p.m. It had no energy boosting kick to it, and not much coffee flavor.
My sandwich was so French, the workers also very nice ! The cappuccino wasn’t Cappuccino, it was a latte, however it was writing Cappuccino on the ticket ! Pastries were good ! I didn’t stay inside because of very loud!
French fast food. Drip coffee was good with a shot of espresso, otherwise not much taste. Real mugs and cups to stay, thank you. Croissants looked good, but were not delicious. Nicely flaky, but almost underbaked inside and the taste made me wonder about the butter(?) they use. OK ham and cheese baguette (the bread part a bit underwhelming). Plenty of seating, also some outside.
Very meh for the price. $16 for a ham and butter baguette and a small black coffee. The ham was better than basic deli ham but nowhere near the quality it should be on a sandwich where it is the star. When it’s just ham and butter, those two ingredients should be highest quality. Baguette was fine but nothing special. Coffee was average, get it anywhere coffee. Place has a sterile, boring feel.
The latte was served too hot and it burned my tongue. This is the first time I’ve experienced this during my visit. They did not want to remake the drink without charging and only offered a second cup to layer onto it.
the name is french, the chef might b french but the quality of the items sold are not up to the standards of a french artisanal patisserie.
my first review ever and it has to be a negative one - using the same gloves to manipulate money and the pastries is unhygienic - misleading: l'ami pierre is a bakery shop selling basic items at a premium price I was longing for french desserts but all I found was bunch of tarts :-( So I am confirming some of the reviews: this is not a place where you will find french pastries. Although they call it a bakery and based on the dictionary a bakery is an establishment that produces and sells flour-based food baked in an oven such as bread, cookies, cakes pastries, pies ... L'ami pierre is a bakery that doesn't bake pastries as you could find in any other french bakery. I am emphasizing on the definition of the word bakery as the owner previously stated it is a bakery but yet doesn't fit the definition of the word itself.
Even for New York the service was rude. We tripped up slightly on our order and the young lady literally threw the screen to pay at us. I’m shocked that a store that treats its customers this poorly is still in business. Only in the Times Square neighborhood I guess!
