This is the Best Chinese restaurant in the Lower east side hands down. I've been going here for 25 years and the food is still amazing. These bad reviews is not for the food or service. It's because people don't understand inflation and if not are super picky.We all have those kinds of people in are lives either friends or family 😭

Excellent take out restaurant! I went here for the first time the other night and got the beef lo mein. It tasted exactly how I was hoping. The staff was super friendly and even gave me a free hot n sour soup that was fantastic. I highly recommend and will definitely go back soon.

This will be my Fourth time in 8 years going to this Chinese restaurant for take out.. Great, fresh food everytime.. Last two times I ordered chicken wings and fries online which were good. No complaints. These last 2 times I had the Orange Chicken which was cooked perfectly..not overcooked where the meat gets all dry and stringy in your mouth. I also ordered with my Orange Chicken pork Lo-mein which was absolutely delicious. The key to keeping a HAPPY Customer like me is to NEVER change the WAY the meal is cooked! Which this is what I have found at Golden Forest.. consistency...and always provide kind, friendly service which here at Golden Forest they are so courteous and professional. I wish this restaurant continued success. 5 stars for me.. Even my leftovers are great after microwaving 👌😄😁😃Thanks guys!

A golden opportunity for some great take out Golden Forest is this tiny shop a few blocks from me offering some great Chinese takeout at low prices! We ordered dumplings, kung pao chicken, and chicken lo mein.

Ordered chicken wings and pork fried rice from Golden Forest and couldn't believe how tiny the wings were. Seriously, they looked like baby/mini wings. 1 normal wing. 3 baby wings. Felt totally ripped off for the price I paid. The rice was okay, but that couldn't save the meal. Can't recommend this place until they fix the portion sizes.

I had ordered a large chicken rice soup. It was basically white rice & water. Very lil chicken like one table spoon full. Horrible $5. I wouldn't order that again.
