Opinions de Laughing Man New York
It takes more than good product to succeed in retail, but it’s a good start. People like to be remembered. It gets a little busy at this little coffee house, but the folks behind the counter always do what they can to make you feel special. I was surprised that they remember my order and make my coffee the way I like it when I forget to say. It’s little, but that counts. If you live near Duane and Greenwich this is probably your local… should be! Otherwise just stop in and take a load off. Have a cup of coffee or something kore healthy. Thanks for making me feel like a star.
If you are in Tribeca, you can't not go to Laughing Man Coffee! Good coffee, good food, spacious place, and most importantly great people... just a perfect spot for everyone, whether you need to tackle some laptop stuff, have a coffee date/meeting, catch up with a friend, or simply need your daily caffeine dose! See ya soon :)
There are certain moments in our day that, though simple in form, hold the power to shape our outlook. Today, after dropping off Woody—a dog I’ve been training—at his home on Chambers Street, I found myself at Laughing Man Coffee. The rain had started to fall, New York’s sidewalks slick and silver. I stepped inside seeking nothing more than a dry seat and an espresso. What I found was something richer: an experience. The coffee, a blend of balance and depth, had none of the harsh acidity so common in hurried roasts. Three shots in, and I was alert, but not jittery. This was quality, not quantity. There is a kind of social texture to this place. The conversation floats at a volume that engages the senses without demanding them. It is not silence, but symphony. A café that understands the psychological need for both individual thought and collective energy. Now, I must note the absence of WiFi—once a deal-breaker for someone like me, a gig worker born in the waning days of dial-up and matured during the battles for net neutrality. We, the so-called entitled millennials, have grown to expect connectivity everywhere. Yet perhaps that expectation reveals more about our conditioning than about necessity. Laughing Man doesn’t cater to convenience—it delivers on purpose. It is not merely a place to consume, but to reflect. That, to me, is worth five stars. Not for what it lacks, but for what it offers with intention. Today despite a smaller crowd, I noticed people talking above the decibels I have my AirPods on. I think the weekday morning work crowd has better energy. Saturday Brunch, I noticed they have a square terminal I think it’s the best choice for merchants. I have a terminal myself and love it. Shout out to Jack Dorsey. Esta bueno el pan con aguacate 🥑, el café me supo un poco a citrus, Muy bueno también. Me siento muy a gusto con el servicio nuevamente.
Laughing Man Coffee ☕️ – Tribeca Started my morning right at this cozy little gem founded by Hugh Jackman 💛 I grabbed a hot caramel coffee and OMG—it was amazing! Just the right amount of sweet, super smooth, and gave me the perfect energy boost to kick off my day. The vibe is super chill, very “downtown NYC”—think wood interiors, friendly staff, and regulars typing away on their laptops or catching up with friends. It’s the kind of spot that feels local but special. 📍 184 Duane St, New York, NY 10013 🕘 Open daily from 7AM to 5PM 💵 Price: Around $4-6 for most drinks 🌱 Bonus: They’re all about fair trade & giving back If you’re ever in Tribeca and want something cozy, delicious, and socially conscious—this is the move. @raquelgerlani
Laughing Man Coffee Cafe is a true New York Staple. Great Coffee, The honey lavender latte is absolutely outstanding on top of that. The sandwiches salads breakfast is absolutely amazing. Plenty of Eden great atmosphere incredible friendly staff must go with the 11 Manhattan or your visiting. Plus created by Hugh Jackman many years ago it feels great to know that the coffee and sells do go to Charity Absolutely love it must see and go!!!
Cool clean coffee shop with really good coffee and quick food bites . Comfortable atmosphere with all white tones and marble. Coffee is overpriced ( like in most coffee shops nowadays) but it is indeed good - loved my oat milk latte. They also have some souvenirs to buy and overall vibe is on point
We have been wanting to go here since it opened. We finally made it...quick stop! We will definitely be back when in the city!! My husband really enjoyed his simple drip black coffee! The coffee temperature and the taste was perfect per my hubby. I had the turmeric latte and that was amazing! My turmeric latte was the perfect drinking temperature...the milk froth was delicious. We also had a plain croissant and my hubby had the cheese and ham croissant. Both were delicious! The place is a pretty and simple coffee shop! Can’t wait to go back and sit down to have another latte. They have two specialty lattes which I would like to try. The staff was also very nice and friendly!! On top of that the coffee shop was started by Hugh Jackman with a purpose. Can’t wait to return!!
Coffee tasted good but their hazelnut syrup was not my taste. I would definitely give another try with different coffee. Their tea was great. Jasmine loose leaf tea smelled just right and tasted just right. I ordered side salad as well but their side salad was delicious! That was a pleasant surprise. I think their herb vinaigrette is the key. It made me wonder how their other food would taste. There are not many outlets and may be a bit noisy to work if you have a meeting. But overall, great experience. They keep the place very clean and there are some interesting books.
Laughing Man in Tribeca is undeniably popular, and for good reason as the atmosphere is fantastic, the quality is high, and it truly feels like the heart of the neighborhood. However, while everything inside is great, getting there is a different story for parents. The Coffee: It is delicious, though be prepared for premium pricing. It’s definitely on the "way expensive" side. The Vibe: the place feels festive and alive, perfectly capturing that New York spirit you’d expect in such an iconic area. The Stroller Struggle (A Major Downside) The biggest issue is the entrance. If you are a parent with a stroller, be warned: there is no way to enter with it. You are forced to leave the stroller outside on the sidewalk. This means carrying your baby while standing in line to order and then waiting for your drink. It turns a simple coffee run into a stressful, two-handed balancing act. so.... Everything about the coffee and the staff is wonderful, but the lack of stroller accessibility makes it a difficult choice for young families. It’s a great spot if you’re solo, but a bit of a logistical headache if you have a little one. Well it is classic New York'love-hat' relationship! :)
Superb bagels and worth the experience. Had the salmon egg and cheese for brunch, alongside a hot matcha latte. Really well done - super fresh salmon cut with crispy toasts on both ends. Portions are generous. Coffee tasted very decent as well but not exactly super unique I would say. That said, apart from the fact that Hugh Jackman founded this cafe, the staff does uphold great standards in their attitude and service. We received our meals and drinks within 15 minutes despite a long queue. Tables were cleared efficiently too. It’s a popular outlet for sure with plenty of regulars. Well worth the penny and time to experience if you are around the area. Very cosy and welcoming on overall.
Really nice atmosphere and a good location, open space with seating though it gets busy during the morning to afternoon of course. The service was great, they're all really friendly and helpful. The honey lavender latte was top tier and drinks are normally in the 1-10 dollar range. Meals are a bit more priced into the 10-20 dollar range but seem extremely worth it. Would come back.
went here based on a recommendation from an NYC-based blogger. It’s advertised as a high-quality specialty coffee place with “real Australian” coffee, but unfortunately that wasn’t my experience. The espresso was particularly bad—more like cheap gas station coffee than specialty coffee. The menu also offered three different sizes of flat white, which is usually a sign that the focus isn’t truly on proper coffee. The place was very crowded, with a long wait in line. It’s definitely trendy and offers many milky and flavored coffee options, so if that’s what you’re into, you might enjoy it. However, if you’re looking for genuinely good coffee, I’d recommend going somewhere else.
asked if they had chai tea. The cashier asked the barista. She rolled her eyes and looked down. I asked what was in their “coconut cream” tea. The cashier didn’t know and made something up on the spot to shut me up. I told him to ask. He told me it was a white tea with no further details. It sounds like they’re not used to getting a single question. The staff’s attitude was horrible and it should be corrected. I left of course. It’s not what it used to be.
I can confidently say this is the worst cafe experience I’ve had in years and I go to cafes often. The worst part was the environment inside: 2 huge TVs (and by huge I truly mean it, like size you’d expect to see at a small movie theater) playing action movies and clips endlessly. To make matters worse, all of the coffees - regardless of whether it was iced or not - was given in cheap plastic/ paper cups, even if you wanted to dine in. Not to mention the other things you’d expect from an overly trendy bad coffee shop like overpriced and bland tasting drinks without the slightest hint of care or latte art, and an unpleasant/ award space with more attention given to merch selling than a comfortable and relaxing cafe experience. I will happily avoid this place and implore you do the same because there are countless other shops who try harder and deserve the business
