Great vibe, great food, great service. The eggs, bureka and labneh were all absolutely delicious

Great vibe and food! Got the Mediterranean salad and the egg and mushroom omelette. The service was excellent - especially from Adreana! Had a wonderful experience and will def come back.

K

I get the herbed eggs every time and they never disappoint. Delicious spot for brunch, great for larger tables and birthdays. Only downside is slow service, but that’s what Sunday brunch is for

Not the first time there, love the food, really reminds me of my culture 5/5 is all aspects Service, freshness and the location is super clean !

Came here unexpectedly and very pleasantly surprised… food is AMAZING. We don’t normally eat Mediterranean so we asked the waiter what to get. The waiter knew what he was talking about. Delicious. Spacious restaurant for large party. 👍🏼👍🏼

S

Good higher end Mediterranean food. Lots of flavor and a variety of options, good for sharing with a small group. The outside seating was still pretty warm with heat lamps, but maybe bring a coat if you want to avoid the wait for inside.

Amazing experience and even better service. Ariel our server was superb! He had great recommendations although choosing what to eat is hard because so many things are great. To start I’d recommend the hummus (with fresh warm pita), the brussel sprouts, & spanakopita. We had the lamb shawarma and the short ribs. The lamb was very good but our waiter described the short ribs as “the definition of love” and he was 100% CORRECT. It was exquisite. Cocktails are very good too - guava was my favorite. Thank you for an amazing evening.

Very fun and lovey spot with attentive service and fast service - food was delivered hot and almost immediately. We enjoyed what we had and would certainly return for other options on the menu!

My family and I went there for brunch. Visiting from out of town, it was 6 adults and one toddler. We enjoyed the food, it was excellent. Staff was friendly and kind. Would recommend.

A
Allison Moore

Brunch was a 10 out of 10 experience! The staff was really friendly and was able to walk us through some questions we had about the menu. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for an upper West side brunch. Definitely would recommend the sangrias as well

So so SO delicious! We went to Miriam one of the first days they opened and we are certainly going to make this one of our UWS staples. The owner even stopped by our table to make sure that everything was tasting OK, and told us about how “Miriam” was his mothers name — the restaurant was inspired by her. Thanks for having us!

Delicious brunch place, everything was very tasty. Service was a bit slow and unresponsive. Gluten free options available by removing the pita bread

J

Had brunch here. I had the croque madame. Delicious. The latte was really good too. Fresh squeezed orange juice. My friend had the potato pancakes.

Sabich platter and BEC sandwich. Loved the Sabich so much. If you’re a fan of eggplant must get.

Had a great meal at Miriam while visiting NY. The ambiance sets the stage for a great meal. The décor was a blend of modern and traditional elements that created a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for both intimate dinners and more casual dining. I won't comment too much on the drinks but overall they were tasty as well. I got the Mediterranean Salad, a dish, which was as fresh and flavorful as I was hooping. The Dipping Plate was a triumphant showcase of texture and taste. The tahini was creamy and nutty, the matbucha, offered a subtle heat (could have used a bit more), and the labne was refreshingly tangy. Do yourself a favor and get an extra piece of pita. I would have liked to see hummus added on, but we can't get everything in life. The Mediterranean Sashimi, a creative twist on a classic, was an exquisite blend of the sea's bounty with Mediterranean zest. The fish was impeccably fresh, sliced to perfection, and enhanced with just the right touch of olive oil and herbs. This was probably tied with the shawarma as my favorite part of the meal. The Lamb Shawarma Terracotta was something I wasn't ready for. The lamb was tender and super well spiced. A hearty portion made sure I didn't leave hungry. Overall, I think the meal was super satisfying. I will say, itt's certainly not a bargain for the portions. The price is not for the faint of heart but if you're looking to treat yourself, I don't think you'll regret coming to Miriam.

Fantastic food with amazing flavors. For a brunch for two, a unique option here would be the Middle Eastern Sambusak or Shakshuka. Both are packed with flavor and a must have.

C

Decided to take a Sunday walk down Amsterdam to see if I could find a nice new brunch spot. Seeing how packed it was in here, I decided to give Miriam a try. It was a 45 minute wait without a reservation but bar seating was available. Food was wonderful, exceeded any hope or expectation. I can’t wait to be back for more brunch and dinner.

M

The Lamb Schwarma Terracotta is amazing! I will definitely order that again. And it goes well with a Goldstar.

Loved Miriam for brunch - we ordered the French toast, green shakshuka, and falafel platter to share. Everything was absolutely delicious and very flavorful. Also very fair prices, esp for the UWS. A must try!

Probably the best restaurant on the planet. Definitely the best restaurant in New York.

The Upper West Side location will offer both take-out and indoor and outdoor dining, and they tell us they’re aiming to open by May. Some popular menu options include Miriam’s Signature Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich; the “OG Miriam” (chicken shawarma, smoked green wheat freekeh with osyter mushrooms, kale and chickpea salad, roasted tomato and onion and tahini); and the “Out of the Persian Gulf” (Persian style fish cakes, herbed basmati rice, fennel and pomelo salad, pomegranate beets, in house tahini). The menu also offers a well-liked shakshuka, lentil burgers, leek meatballs, a crispy lamb burger and more. Owner Refael Hasid and Chef Alon Hadar have another Homemade by Miriam location at 88 West Broadway in Tribeca, a to-go version of the original Miriam in Park Slope which opened in 2005. The food was fantastic, and my girlfriend and I truly enjoyed the entire meal. What made the experience even better was the outstanding customer service. We felt genuinely taken care of, and I really wish I had gotten the names of the server, bartender, and manager so I could shout them out—each of them went above and beyond to make our night special. Huge thanks to the whole team for making it such a memorable evening!

My husband and I had been dreaming about eating at Miriam's for a while, but it's not always easy to get a reservation at the weekend (to take into account if you're visiting NYC). This is probably the best brunch I've had in the city, hands down. The service was perfect (and so quick -- it helps that we knew what we wanted to order as soon as we were seated), the food very tasty and the portions just the right sizes. The outside and inside of the restaurant are both stunning, it's tastefully decorated while also comfortable. I also appreciated that the music wasn't too loud, so it could be a lovely brunch with my husband without feeling like we needed to shout across the table to have a conversation! We will most definitely be back 🫶

Shachar Ashkenazi

Wonderful Mediterranean food! We really enjoyed all the dishes we have tried, and the service was great. We will definitely be back here!

WOW! Miriam is on another level. The food is incredible, the vibe and atmosphere are elegant and natural feeling, great music and great service. I had brunch and would definitely come back for the entire menu. Highly recommend!

N

Their Chicken Schnitzel satisfies all my cravings and beyond. The chicken is perfectly crispy, yet moist on the inside, the mashed potatoes are rich and creamy, and the Israeli salad is crunch and fresh. They let a few of us get seated before the rest of our party arrived, which was really appreciated.

Delicious and flavorful meals in a charming and lively section of the upper west side. The frena is a must with some labne and matbucha (think bread cream cheese and tomato sauce but elevated). Loved the short ribs and kadaif shrimp. Outdoor dining is very well lit with plants and flowers. Indoor was a bit loud and had stunning decor. I also opted for the hibiscus iced tea which was perfect and hydrating but unfortunately they ran out and I couldn’t get seconds!

This last weekend on Saturday October 25th, I went to Miriam after seeing Ragtime at Lincoln Center and the food was EXQUISITE! The falafel is always a big hit. I never had thought I'd like it before coming here. The portion sizes are PLENTIFUL. Definitely will be coming back!

Came for brunch on a Saturday and was able to get a table even though it was prime brunch time. The restaurant filled up but wasn’t loud at all. Miriam is beautifully lit with lots of natural sunlight coming in and the decor is very mellow and comfortable. Their orange juice is great and my Israeli breakfast plate was delicious. I also had some of their French toast which was great as well. The service was fantastic and I would come back or check out their park slope location next.

Went for an excellent brunch experience. Place was packed and held a great social atmosphere. Food tasted amazing - never knew Israeli food could serve such delicious brunch items. Had the “quesadillas”. Girlfriend had the lox. All amazing.

Excellent lunch. We had the lamb shawarma and the Israeli breakfast. Everything is fresh, the vibe is nice and service was good. There is a 3% additional cost for credit card transactions if you prefer to pay cash.

Great location right next to the Beacon Theater, so if you are in the area for a show- recommend to grab a drink and a bite at this place. Wonderful Mediterranean manu with plenty of vegetarian options so there's something for everyone. We ordered the fluffy pita bread (indeed fluffy) , focaccia 6 dips - delicious and fresh, my personal favorite out of the 6 was the eggplant and the labaneh dips. Each git a couple of cocktails, all were very light and refreshing Definitely recommend for a nice evening out:)

We were looking for an Israeli restaurant after a show and this restaurant did not disappoint. Very tasty menu, pleasant atmosphere and helpful staff. The lamb shawarma terracotta was fantastic! Never had anything like it, portion is for 3 people. Desserts are unique and tasty.

This place is amazing, we went to the beacon theater last night , we past by before the show , the food was fantastic, we set on the bar the bartender was super friendly, and the atmosphere was magical. Highly recommended.

The food here is amazing. The platters are very large and varied. The stuff is very friendly and the restaurant very cute with lots of green plants. The only thing you need to be mindful is that they will accept only cash and no credit cards.

This became our brunch go-to during our 11-day stay on the Upper West Side. So far we’ve come four times. The food and OJ are fresh and delicious, the coffee is strong, and the service is terrific. The very capable and friendly waiter managed the tables with Zen-like calm and efficiency, and he memorized our preferences by the second visit. Highly recommend!

I
Ina Li

Cozy Israeli bistro with great ambiance, friendly service, and small but well curated food and drink menu with vegetarian-friendly options. Perfect for get-togethers or a casual dinner in the neighborhood. Highly recommend the hummus, the shrimp with harissa aioli, the branzino, and the lamb shawarma in terracotta.

K
K. K.

Food was very good, even delicious. The service was spotty, didn't get serving Spoons with our family style meals. Atmosphere was crowded and noisy, not my kind of place, but it is the upper west side, so have to expect it in a good restaurant.

H
Hailey Ahn

Really good food. Brussel sprouts and falafel were AMAZING. I also recommend the lamb Shawarma Terracotta. I’m still thinking about them 😂 Three of us shared those three dishes, as well as the dipping plate (3) and a side of vegetables, and it was more than enough. Make reservations ahead of time. We didn’t but were able to get a seat at the bar.

Very nice food as always! Had been to Brooklyn one before. Consistent service and food quality. I’d definitely recommend this amazing Israeli restaurant.

My favorite restaurant on the upper west side!! Absolutely everything is a hit here, every dish feels so curated visually flavor wise and texture. The service is THE BEST thanks to my favorite waitress Paola, I’ve must have been here about a thousand times and it’s always an amazing experience! I whole heartily recommended this place.

C
Chael MacKinnon

I can VERY CONFIDENTLY say this was some of the best food I have had in a while. Everything about this experience was something I will now use as the measuring stick for what 5 stars is. My friend and I came here on a Tuesday night and it was not super busy - we got sat immediately. We chose to sit outside since it's warm for November. The lights in the little front enclosed patio area are so cute. We started by splitting a half carafe of Pinot Noir - perfect for the two of us. Then we got the hummus... I think I actually almost fell out of my chair. I am not kidding this has to be the best hummus I have ever evvvvveeerrrrr had. It was magic. On the menu the pita is called "fluffy pita" and rightfully so. Also on the menu we saw "Grilled Plant-Based Steak" - as a vegetarian I am always drawn to the plant-based options (naturally) but was wowed for a moment because I have never seen a vegan steak option. Impossible burgers, yes... but vegan steak? This is new. So my friend and I were talking about it, and talking about it loudly it seems as all of a sudden the chef comes up and strikes up conversation about it. It's something he is very confident we will like, and he also tells us another special he's working on now. The chef's name is Alon - he is incredible and so fun to talk to. Some time passes and he drops off one of the specials for us to try, a gesture we were so thankful for. It is an absolutely unbelievable butternut squash in labneh. I will dream of it forever. So then we get the "steak." Oh my GOD. I have not had steak in about 8 years and I cannot even begin to tell you how insane this was. You should be RUNNNNINNNGGG to Miriam right now as you read this to get this plant-based steak for yourself. I want every single person I have ever known to try this. I will include a photo of the inside of it too, you can see it has the consistency and graining of a short rib or a real piece of steak. Long story short, I would give Miriam and their all-star servers and chef Alon 100 stars if I could.

Kevin gave 10 star service!! Danielle gave us a great table. The food was great! The short ribs had great flavor. The dessert was so different and creative!

This place is a fantastic Israeli restaurant! 🇮🇱 Miriam serves a wonderful selection of delicious 🤤 Mediterranean dishes 🍽️ - definitely try the Hummus 🧆 and Chicken 🐔 Schnitzel with Creamy Mashed Potatoes! 🥔 Ambience 🎶 is great, staff 👨‍🍳 is friendly, and the plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! I wish I came here earlier!

Really good meat! Just finished a comedy show and stopped by here afterward—so glad I did! The lamb baked rice was absolutely mind-blowing, definitely a standout dish. However, the wine selection could use some improvement. Despite that, I'd gladly return to this restaurant on my next trip to New York.

O

Great brunch. The side hummus was really good. The green shakshuka is nice, but I felt I should have gotten the regular one instead. The croissant eggs and cheese dish was good and the burekas plate was also delicious.

S

Fabulous, delicious Israeli/Mediterranean food in a beautifully designed restaurant just off Amsterdam Ave. Came in here because it looked nice from the outside and what a great decision! We had lamb shwarma, Falafel platter and egg with Jerusalem breakfast (eggs and an amazing Jewish bagel). So amazing! Server was fantastic too. Best meal on our trip so far! Best falafel I’ve ever had!

A great gem on the upper west side for people who love good food and prefer to eat breakfast/brunch for lunch. Miriam has great options to choose from. We tried the Bureka dish and the Norwegian plate. And had their Kanafe dessert. We were there on Friday lunch time and the place was packed. Not surprised. Between the great food and fast and attentive service, it’s a spots we’ll come back to. Next time for dinner.

K

We enjoyed a delicious brunch date. My husband got the lamb burger and said is was very good. I had the Norwegian Eggs (smoked salmon benedict over latkes) with labneh and salad. The Benedict was delicious but I will dream about the labneh. It was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. Would gladly return daily.

Miriam’s is absolutely delicious. I have never actually been to one of their locations. I order frequently from their Upper West side location delivered to my apartment. The consistency and quality of the food is always on point. My go to is the salmon and risotto dish, it’s amazing. The hummus is spectacular. I definitely recommend their breadsticks to go with the hummus. Every time the food arrives. It’s the perfect temperature. On my days off I always enjoy any of their brunch options. I have never been disappointed and thoroughly enjoy ordering from this restaurant.

Miriam is an absolute delight! My wife and I discovered this wonderful restaurant during a recent upper west side visit. The fare is healthy, exquisitely prepared, and presented beautifully. Do not miss an opportunity to go to Miriam's. I was invited to dinner with some friends. To say that I was extraordinarily pleasantly surprised is an absolute understatement. I suppose my expectations to begin with might have been a bit low as I am not from Manhattan. Coming from upstate NY I might have been a bit guarded but between my friends and the outstanding and extremely friendly service, the wonderful atmosphere and the very delicious appetizers and entrees, I can't help but tell everyone I come in contact with from home. I hope someone reads my review and tries this little slice of heaven on the upper West side. Thank you for a wonderful experience and an amazing meal.

Miriam’s in NYC is an absolute gem. I love everything about this spot—from the warm, inviting atmosphere to the gorgeous décor, especially the beautiful tile work in the bathrooms. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Our favorites are the Traditional Shakshuka and Miriam’s Famous Breakfast—both perfect, comforting dishes that keep us coming back. A wonderful place for a relaxed, delicious meal in the city.

We came to celebrate my birthday. From the moment we came in, we were greeted with a gracious smile and happy birthday wishes. Our table was waiting for us, and we started with great cocktails, the eggplant and Haloumi salad , which were both delicious. Our party of four shared the lamb kebab and the shish kabab, also to die for. We were surprised to learn that the restaurant didn’t charge us for our dessert, the vanilla- kadaif (also delicious)- as a treat for my birthday- which was of course truly appreciated. This is our second time celebrating at Miriam UWS and we will certainly come back soon!

Without a doubt the greatest brunch I’ve ever had. Menu items were simple but incredibly flavorful, the sauces that were served alongside them were the stars of the show. We LOVED the pickles, too! We will absolutely be returning.

I went in without the reservation on Saturday lunch. They managed to sit me at the counter bar. The brunch menu looks really good unfortunately I already had breakfast. So my husband ordered Chicken schnitzel which came with mash potatoes, beets sauce, chop cucumbers, onion, avocado and tomatoes. The chicken was don perfectly, crispy and moist. I had Kofta Kebab which is meatballs with humus, vegetable, and pita bread. There are still a lot of things on menu that I want to try. The service at the bar was pretty good, the bartender was very pleasant. The ambiance is airy with interesting art pieces displayed.

Excellent meal before our show at the Beacon. Tasty drinks. Food was great. Plentiful portions. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. Lamb spareribs, hummus and focaccia to start. Meals included short ribs, lamb shawarma, white seabass and chicken schnitzel. Pictures tell the tale. Desserts were just right. Great value for the money. Took off 1 star for the noisy holiday crowd.

It is amazing that each dish is delicious and gives us a chance to explore the unique Israeli cuisine. Before dining in Miriam, I had very little idea about what is Israeli cuisine. Now I am so excited about trying all dishes Miriam can offer. I don’t know how they cast the magic but I just want to come back again and again. The food is light, delicious, healthy, not too big portion. Great balance between the ingredients and flavors as well as nutrition and carbs. It also provides vegan and gluten free options. The best touch for me is the desert. The Halva Mouse is a MUST order for anytime!

L

The Mediterranean/Israeli cuisine is excellent. This is a busy restaurant so service can be a bit slow and prices a bit high. But, overall, an excellent choice for brunch.

R

A nice Brunch restaurant which offers a variety of brunch and breakfast items from around a few cuisines. The portions are ever so generous. I recommend the.Mint Tea and the Eggs Benedict Latkas.

I got the french toast, and it was okay. I felt it was slightly soggy and too soft. Also, the portion size was huge and the dish was too sweet as well. Not terrible, just not the best food I’ve had.

Love how many options you have at this place! So many entrees and sides to choose from to pair with rice or other grains. My chicken was a little cold but it was still flavor. Absolutely loved the pita and hummus though. It was so fluffy and very light with just the right amount of flavors.

T

The food and service were incredible. Highly recommend the eggplant starter and salmon dish. I like the decor and feel of the restaurant but it was too loud for dinner for my taste.

M

Shared a bunch of starters. Falafel was great as was cauliflower & hummus. The pomegranate meatballs were sensational as was the yogurt it came with. Service was ok. Had to ask for drinks a couple of times.

J

I had the red shakshuka, it was good but to me the tomato sauce was a little bland. Hummus was tasty. The rest of my party loved what they had. The waiter (Mets fan) had good knowledge of the dishes and was very helpful. However it took forever to get the food. We’ll be back

B
Bhakti Dalvi

Spacious place and good decor. Went in on late Sunday afternoon, got a table for 2 immediately. Bureka - got a side of bureka, it was big enough. It was too heavy on olives though, if you are not a olive fan then this filling might be a bit too much Falafel - the taste was great but they were a bit oily Green Shakshuka - Good taste and good quantity for 2. The labneh served with it was nice

V
Vanessa Suquila

Went there for late brunch on Saturday and it was packed. Good thing the street dining had free tables. Plus points for the cool bottle of Mint Water - you'll need that because the wait for the food is a bit long (maybe because the place was packed). The Lamb is seasoned just right. The hummus and the dips taste fresh and maybe made from scratch. Looking forward to try other dishes.

R
Ricardo Buitrago

Staff was super nice. Food was an 8/10. The shawarma was HUGE. The place has a theatre smoking zone just beside it so if you sit outside you’ll most probably leave a bit dizzy.

Side note- The menu online has slightly different descriptions than what we had, so perhaps it changes a bit seasonally. I was at this Israeli restaurant a few months back with two others, having also gone to their more casual Miriam Street Food location in Brooklyn before. As usual with those two, we overordered, leaving us with leftovers, with the server happily obliging. I don't think I had anything to drink besides maybe a glass of wine, but I might be mistaken (I definitely didn't have a cocktail.) We started with a handful of appetizers and a salad. The Hummus for $16, with tadka-spiced wild mushrooms, harissa, and pita, was pretty solid. There were plenty of mushrooms, and the hummus had a good texture, being slightly thick but not too much so, and the pita was standard. The harissa on the side of the plate was a unique touch, adding some spiciness if desired, and reminded me a bit of having shifka or another type of spicy pickle with hummus or other dips. It was good overall, though I think the hummus is a bit better quality at a few other spots on the UWS. The Eggplant for $15, with tomato confit, melted feta, halloumi, mozzarella, and green tahini, was more unique. The dish was quite rich overall, and a bit salty, and the eggplant itself had a soft texture and was well-roasted. I would recommend it as a mezze, but only for sharing, as I think it will get a bit too rich eventually. The Halloumi Salad, for $23, with baby arugula, grilled artichoke, walnuts, string beans, cremini mushrooms, and walnut vinaigrette, was pretty good. The cheese was nice along with the mix of vegetables, but I found the dish overall a bit too sour and salty between the vinaigrette and the cheese. I think a slightly sweeter dressing would be more preferable. I think others might also find it a bit wet for a salad, but I didn't mind. My main is the Steak Levant, for $34, which is listed online now with tri-tip steak, Swiss chard, white and fava bean stew, root vegetable purée, and Jerusalem artichoke chips. Back then, or now, if the menu wasn't updated, it was simply served with roasted tomatoes and shoestring fries. The steak was pretty solid and quite tender, and while it lacked a bit of salt, the fries helped. The fries themselves were a mix of textures, with some pretty crispy and some a bit too soggy, though that was perhaps because some were in the meat or tomato juice. It was pretty good overall, though a bit one-note with a sauce likely helping with the fries. Another person got the Lamb Shawarma Terracotta, for the same price with majadra rice, slow-roasted tomato, harissa, yogurt sauce, and almonds. I tried a bit of this, and it reminded me of a better version of the same dish at either Acadia or Barbounia. At those spots, the yogurt is a bit too strong, and the meat just isn't as good as it is less flavored. For this spot, the lamb was cooked more properly, and the whole dish had a bit more balance with the harissa adding a nice extra kick of spice. This was good, and I preferred it over my main. I believe the other person got the same steak as I. We shared a dessert, which was easily the weakest thing we had. This was the Rose Babka for $15, served with vanilla ice cream. I expected it to have a rosewater flavor, given that the spot is Israeli, but in fact, the babka just really resembled one. I wouldn't have minded if the flavor was good, but the babka itself was very dry, and even though it looked like there was a good amount of chocolate, it was pretty lightly flavored. Outside of the alright ice cream, this was honestly terrible and the weakest dessert of any similar Levant spot in the area, with all three of us not wanting to finish it. This was overall a good spot, though I have preferred some others. It wasn't the best for any specific dish, but it was solid overall.

I love this spot and have been coming here for years, but I was SO upset on my last visit to see that you’ve removed the chicken shawarma from the menu. It was genuinely my favorite dish in the city. I’ve brought tons of friends here over the years solely to try it, it was that good. If you are at all considering switching up your menu again I am begging you to bring it back!!!

The place is really nicely decorated, the service is nice and the food is good. We arrived on a cold day and were seated in the outdoor area at the table closest to the door. I had to eat with my jacket on. The heater worked poorly and it was terribly cold. We ordered a bill, it came very quickly, and then getting the bill took over 30 minutes and I had to let the waitress into the restaurant so I could continue my day. That's why my review is 4 stars because when I give a review, I look at a comprehensive experience.

Great food, nice atmosphere, will definitely come back! **came back for brunch and wasn’t happy. The Burrekas had barely any filling in it. The Halumi cheese on the salad was cold and wasn’t freshly fried. Either something changed in the last year or the brunch sucks and better to stick to dinner.

Beautiful UWS outpost. Went here for dinner. Been to the Brooklyn location for brunch. The atmosphere and vibe is beautiful. Definitely a great date spot. Probably enjoy the brunch food a little bit more, but definitely recommend the appetizers. The lamb shawarma was great with the pickled onions. I wish it was a bit more flavored and hot.

Visited the uws location...and I'm quite dissappointed. Unlike their Bk location, this wasn't as good as expected. The food was NOT freshly made. Attention was bitter and the space sitting/table is very very very reduced, even for a New yorker. On the other side, shawarma had a great taste, everything else: wack.

Revised review: Unfortunately on my most recent visit last month in November of 2024, I discovered they had reinvented several dishes that used to be great, like the chicken shawarma. The dark meat replaced with dry breast meat and the whole thing lacked the depth of flavor it used to have. Several other changes also contributed to a decline in quality. Shame. ————————————————————————- A reliable tasty staple in the neighborhood. I especially love that they use dark meat for chicken shawarma. Generous portions. Their vegetarian options are also great, they use ‘Chunk’ vegan steak which is probably the best vegan meat alternative I’ve ever tried.

Food was 5 stars. Service was 2. Averaged out to a 3. Non existent wait staff. Took 15 mins to get order taken. Food came out before drinks. Then took another 20 mins to finally get a check to get out of there. Server never checked on us. Had to flag them down multiple times to get the check. We had the falafel plate and lamb shawarma. Both very good. Wish the service was the same.

This was a bustling loud restaurant this Saturday night and the staff was working hard. I’m struggling here as I don’t like to be critical so am giving them a 3 star rating but it’s generous. We sat at a high top table by the door on a very cold night and had to keep my jacket on. I understand that’s hard to control. But they could control the volume of their music. People were screaming to be heard. Maybe they want it that way? The waiter a very nice guy kept us waiting for a really long time but I did say it was packed inside. Still we did pay $75 a head with no drinks and 1 shared dessert and 2 shared apps for the 4 of us. This is not gourmet food. Ok the humus and warm pita were great but the falafel was not. It was an odd shape probably machine made and texture leading me to believe it was freshly made. FYI avoid the fish dishes here. The fish shawarma was horrible. It tasted nothing like shawarma and had a fishy tasted. The Israeli salad tasted like it was sitting around for a couple of days as the vegetables were water logged and soggy with zero taste. Two people had the Moroccan fish and thought it was too spicy. I didn’t think so but it was covered in a heavy sauce. I’ve been to Morocco and never had this. I’m not going back but maybe I had an off night? Too busy? I won’t take that chance

The food was decent, but the service was shockingly bad. We walked in and said we were happy to wait for an inside table. We were told the wait would be about 30 minutes. We ended up waiting 45 minutes (which was fine), but then were seated outside. Had we known that was the case, we wouldn’t have waited at all. I understand restaurants get busy, but this level of miscommunication isn’t acceptable. Once seated, it took 20 minutes for the server to take our order. One person’s main dish was completely forgotten. After we flagged it, we expected the dish to be prioritised, but it actually took longer than the original order to arrive. By the time it came out, the rest of us had already finished eating. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

ADDENDUM: The general manager at Miriam reached out in response to our feedback, apologized, and offered to replace the ruined clothing. We are truly grateful for her customer service! Will be increasing our rating from 1 to 3 stars to average our initial experience and the steps taken to rectify it. Original review below: We dined at Miriam this evening. The food was good, the patio atmosphere was pleasant. Unfortunately at the end of the meal, the staff member cleaning the dishes off the table accidentally toppled the dishes onto my partner, spilling on his shirt and pants. Both are ruined. Initially, we were told his meal would be comped. I expressed some dissatisfaction with this (his shirt and pants cost more than a burger) and they then agreed to comp the whole bill (there were three of us dining). This was a step in the right direction, but it took about 15 minutes for this to be offered after the incident. No manager ever came to speak with us/apologize. I think the proper way for the restaurant to handle the situation would have been for the manager to come out immediately and ask (and then cover) the price of the outfit. While I appreciate the offer to cover the table’s bill, the outfit still costs much more than our total, and it was naturally a major inconvenience. While I don’t blame the staff member for the accident - things happen! - I do think the restaurant should have handled the aftermath better.

Miriam has lovely decor and is in a great location. The dishes we had were hit or miss. The highlight was the kadaif shrimp. We asked for many meze items to share explaining this to our server. Everything was served at once, within 5 mins of us ordering. It was all cold by the time we got to it since there was no way to eat all of that that quickly. I would not recommend the cauliflower nor the meatballs. The pomegranate dip served with the meatballs was great though. Meze dips were average.

Miriam was a complete disappointment. We came here on Sunday at 1 pm. The place was loud, cramped, and the servers were openly rude. From the start, our server answered menu questions with abrupt one-word responses. Drinks were delayed, no one checked on us during the meal, and servers kept bumping into our chairs, then rudely telling us to squeeze in. Twice they tried to take our plates while we were still eating—and instead of apologizing, we got attitude. The food was mediocre at best. To top it off, the restroom was filthy, with paper all over the floor and a jammed door that barely opened. Unpleasant experience all around. Definitely not coming back.

We were six of us. The food took 45 minutes to get to the table. we were first ones in the Restaurant. We were with a three-year-old and six-year-old. I ordered French toast, which is very simple to make. It came out wrong. It had whipped cream all over it. I indicated to the waitress, absolutely no whipped cream, please !!! They redid it. I had to wait another 20 minutes and it was tasteless and cold !!! The bill was very high not worth it at all.!! We will never return. Also, the waitress never came over to apologize for the poor service and attitude.

Was very disappointed by the food even though the service and atmosphere were okay. Food felt old or microwaved and definitely wasn't fresh which was very surprising and disappointing.

Nothing is authentic , it looks like they took different items from different cuisines and tried to put them together in a bad way 🫠👎, If you want Mediterranean food there are better ones

We heard about the knafeh at this spot so we stopped by for dessert. It was very regrettable. Chamomile tea was given to us without being steeped. The knafeh's syrup was poured for us and left us drowning in sweetness. The malabi was also a sugar overload. We left without finishing.

1. Waited ages for drinks, server disappeared and had to ask hostess to send her our way 2. Inexplicably bad math on the appetizer dip to bread ratios—one (1) breadstick is provided. Still got charged $8 when we asked for one (1) breadstick ontop of the already overpriced app. Recommendation is to avoid, will not be back.

Extremely Disappointed – Served Raw Chicken and No Real Apology! We’ve been to this restaurant several times before and always enjoyed it — great food, atmosphere, and friendly staff. Unfortunately, our last visit completely changed our impression. I was served raw chicken, which is not just unappetizing but a serious health risk. Our waiter agreed it was unacceptable and offered to replace the dish, which we appreciated. However, when the bill arrived, the replacement meal was still charged, and nobody apologized or made any gesture to acknowledge how serious the situation was. Serving undercooked chicken is a major food safety issue, and the complete lack of accountability was shocking. I genuinely hope the management takes this seriously — this kind of incident simply shouldn’t happen in any restaurant.
