Really felt special last night from the moment we walked in. Got there early when they first opened but felt like family. They had a special that was on Monday and Tuesdays where you can buy a burger with fries and a drink for $27. Our waitress Theresa gave us a tour after our meal and the place is beautiful! The best part of it all, was that at the end of the meal if you roll a seven, your bill is on them which we did and made our entire night!!!

We had the most amazing Caesar salad here and the mac and cheese is also delicious! The wait staff were really friendly and accommodating and they made the best cocktails as well as non-alcoholic mocktails! Will definitely come back here again and recommend it to all our friends.

We were drawn to this place because of the adult happy meal and it did not disappoint. Prime NY strip ground in house to make the thick juicy patty, bun is reminiscent of a Big Mac bun and they homemade the sauce to bring it home. If I closed my eyes I could imagine being a kid eating a Big Mac before going to run into the ball pit. Opening my eyes I’m eating a well made burger and dipping my fries in a drink that tastes like the classic chocolate milkshake. For $25 it’s well worth it, not just because it was a great burger, but for the nostalgic feel of the meal. Went to the in house speakeasy afterwards for a few drinks. I definitely recommend this establishment, will definitely go back for some steak next time.

Such a cool, chic, and beautiful place — I instantly fell in love with the decor! The food is super tasty, and they offer a special set that includes both food and drinks at a great price. I really love this idea — it makes the experience feel complete and totally worth it. Can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely a great time, service was excellent. They accommodated us a last minute reservation number change and also brought us a few glasses of wine to sample on request before we decide on a bottle. Was it the best steak? It really depends on what is your preference. Sous vive style is very different, tender and a lot less oily than your usual steak prep in other steak house with a smokey grilled taste. You can definitely chow down more than usual. They also have special set menu on different night like Martini Night/ Suft & Turf / Girls Night / Adult Happy Meal etc.

We came to The Big 🍎 for a daughters/girls trip. There were six of us, three from Georgia and three from Alabama. One of my daughter’s friends lives in Manhattan and recommended & Son Steakeasy to us. It was so much fun from the moment we walked in the door. A fabulous recommendation! From the get-go the vibe was upbeat and everyone working there sure seems to like working there. The decor is warm and inviting and as busy as the restaurant was, the noise level was perfect. The hostess was a charming friendly young lady who genuinely acted glad we were dining with them. Our service by Alex was stellar. We all tried different entrees and shared them and several of us had salads. Every steak was cooked to the correct temperature and delicious. The French fries are killer and the salads fresh crispy greens and wonderful dressings. The bathroom was spotless and the speakeasy upstairs had a super cool feel. I highly recommend this restaurant and have to say it was our best meal (in all areas) we ate in NYC. Hats off to & Son Steakeasy!

It was a cute dimly lit restaurant. The ambience was nice. I ate here with my sister. Could easily be a place that you bring a date to. The food tasted good. I had the perfect cut of steak that was cooked how I like it. I also had the French Onion Soup which was also delightful.

I really wanted to like this place. The vibes/decor were immaculate, especially on a cold winter day, and the menu looked great on paper, but the service and food were very lacking. Let’s start with the food. I hate to say it, but this was one of the worst tasting meals I’ve had in the city in recent memory. Excluding the Caesar salad, which was very good, the rest of the meal was borderline inedible. The steak sandwich was so fatty and chewy that we couldn’t finish it. The strip steak was dry and tough and tasted like someone had dunked it in a bottle of artificial smoke flavoring. The Mac and cheese was dry and lacked flavor. As for the service, our waitress seemed very inexperienced. She accidentally brought us the surf and turf instead of the simple steak we ordered, so we received our strip steak with a piece of lobster on top. When we told her we’d just ordered the steak, her responses was “Well you pointed to the surf and turf” (I hadn’t). She then asked “Well, do you want me to replace it?” We responded that we didn’t want to pay for it, and she repeated “So what do you want me to do?” An appropriate response would have either been “Sorry about that, I won’t charge you for the lobster”, or if she was unwilling to comp the lobster, “Apologies, let me fix that for you” and then brought it back to the kitchen. We repeated that we didn’t want to pay for it, so she angrily snatched the plate away and walked back to the kitchen. This certainly was not the quality of food or service I’d expect for this price point.

I was going to call this restaurant mid, but that’s actually probably being a bit too liberal with the word. The NY strip was simply not a good steak. For $68, you’d hope they could pull off one of the simplest cuts of beef. The steak was not trimmed properly leaving the fat cap inconsistently rendered (if at all) and the cartilage ran straight through the middle of the steak. Fries were fine. Staff was friendly. Drinks were solid, albeit uninventive (the $19-23 price felt gratuitous in this specific place, however). Decor is fine. Clientele felt boring, even for the West Village. Very strong suburban steakhouse vibe from the whole experience. Do yourself a favor and just go up to Smith & Wollensky’s. Do the wine dinner if you’re feeling budget conscious. Enjoy a great steak, in a real steakhouse, because this place isn’t it. But hey, great marketing on Instagram.

This is a tourist trap masquerading as a nice steakhouse. The steaks are sous vide in advance, not made to order, so you can’t order rare. The sides are extremely lacking and come off as afterthoughts to the already disappointing meat selection. Service was surly, with our server at one point arguing about the right way to order a martini. You can get immensely better food elsewhere.

Save your money. This is a tourist trap for people willing to spend money on sub-par cliche steakhouse food (overcooked burger, dry French dip, the worst mac n cheese I’ve ever had at a restaurant this price point). For the $$$ I am truly in awe of how truly bad this meal was. I ordered a dry dirty martini and I got a dry martini with a twist. Our waiter told me (with a bit of judgy tone) I was wrong when I tried to send it back because dry = citrus…. Which is not true. I would highly recommend not going here.

I’m gonna be honest I’m at a loss for words. I’m rating this on the quality of the food alone because the vibe and service was ok, however there was no music which I found strange. The burger which we came for specifically, was dry and flavorless. It tasted like my grandmothers chop meat - not in a good way. Pedestrian at best. The creamed spinach was bitter and may have been the most dissatisfying, along with the 35 dollar French dip which was soggy and stale. I’d categorize this as bowling alley food. The meat was edible, but it felt like a shop rite meal I could have executed better myself. I left annoyed and feeling nauseous. I’ve been on a burger bucket list hunt in Manhattan, and this was by far the worst, almost putting me off burgers entirely. My entire night is derailed. I wouldn’t recommend this meal to my worst enemy. Friendly staff was their only redemption.
