Opinions de Marlton Esprsso Bar New York
A wonderful winter space with dark wood, couches and a fireplace. One of the few bars in NYC to enjoy good mulled wine. The crowd is decent and cool despite the old school elegant vibe of this place. Not sure why the description says closing at 6, it is definitely open as a lobby bar way after 6pm. It was weird though that they don't serve tea after 6pm.
Absolutely BEST sneakiest, lowkey place in the city. So slept on. Cutest outdoor patio in the back and so many tables open. Brunch was standard and does the trick. Nothing too fancy or unique Indoor is cute too and there’s a coffee shop in the front with couches. Great place to go and count on seating!
It's at most 30°F , snowing, and outright miserable outside. What do you do? How does a cozy as heck, politely quiet as a library, lobby that doubled as a Cafe and bar sound? With a roaring fireplace that you can cozy up to while you drink coffee or tea out-of gorgeous looking cupware and have your pick of a variety of seating arrangements to choose from, and nobody cares if you need to take your shoes off to crouch-sit like a neurodiverse goblin. Oh yeah, it's a slice of heaven is what it sounds like. With super friendly staff who both see to your needs and know to leave you alone to just enjoy the vibe while you eat, work on your laptop, listen to that audiobook or read. Whatever. They don't rush you out. It's a bohemian dream. Just be sure to bring a credit card or something they can hold onto as collateral for your tab, though they do take cash. HIGHLY recommend the tomato soup. JUST LOOK AT IT! And it's not bland, it's properly spiced. Maybe too spicy for some but absolutely perfect for me.

I don’t even want to rate this place or tell anyone about it. I love it so much and I hope it stays quiet and cozy! 5 stars
I had a coffee, avocado toast and vegan sausages. Great decor and company. Fun brunch place for spending New year's day or any other weekend/holiday
I guess some things are just meant to be. I had just as i checked out, the best chicken sandwich in over 3 years which was served on such a crunchy and rustic panini that i thought i might justin timberlake in my pants. 100% go here.
I popped in to scope out the cozy lobby area to work from. The F&B director, Keith, approached me and asked how he could help. He offered to give me a tour of the area and was incredibly nice and helpful. He kindly let me know that they prioritize those staying at the hotel for seating (which is completely understandable) and that they just ask those working at the hotel to be accommodating, kind to the staff, and order food/drinks. The space itself was intimate & cozy - definitely a place I’d like to spend hours drinking coffee and reading a good book. I didn’t get a chance to try any of their food or drinks but I definitely will be back to do so. Shoutout to Keith for turning me into a customer!
Wonderful place to get away from the noise and bustle of the city. I got a tea and sandwich which was delicious. I saw someone else on here complain about the time it took to get served, that was not my experience. I barely waited five minutes for my order to arrive! Will be coming back very soon.
My weekly spot for coffee with a friend. A true 5 star experience. Excellent coffee, service and ambiance. What else can you ask for?
I had a really yummy housemade almond cappuccino here. Who knew lobby cafes were starting to really hone in on their coffee QC?! I loved the decor and vibe here. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all, not being a hotel guest.
Cosy and beautiful place for a coffee or lunch. Lovely warm atmosphere, with chill jazz music.

Gluten free croque madame. Yes, please! If you have CIRS, sit outside.

Didn't see the alleged fireplace. Coffee pretty meh but they have free wifi.
Great atmosphere. Serves food, drinks, and coffee
The coffee and service were a bit underwhelming but the atmosphere of this place is *incredible.* Lots of cozy places to sit, dark wood, and fireplaces. We waited a long time for our check but I would probably come back because the ambiance was so great.
A secret gem in the city that I would love to remain hidden and relatively less known. The coffee and tea is good and the setting is very relaxed. You can easily spend the entire day hanging out here by the fireplace.
Cozy, quiet, upscale spot for coffee/light meals. Free WiFi, comfortable atmosphere. Staff is rude, not very helpful overall. High prices for coffee and such, but worth a premium for the classy environment. Staff should be friendlier and more hospitable. Great spot to get some work done with a coffee if you don’t mind putting up with the staff.

You'll notice that many of the reviews here comment on the lack of service. There's a reason for that. Ordered coffee. They don't have cream. You'd think a flossy, upscale place like this would have cream, but ... no. Okay. Coffee isn't great and not that hot, but it is what it is. The waiter disappears. Never saw him again. Literally. An hour passes? I ask the hostess for a waiter. Nothing. I ask the busboy for the manager. A different waiter finally appears. Nice fellow. Takes our order. The manager wanders over, and everything about him exemplifies "I don't care." So I finally understand why the original waiter was so lackluster: It's the leadership. It usually is. This is a great venue and would be terrific place to if they could find a manager who could, I dunno; manage.

The glass holder is broken! Hot water got on my hand! Terrible place…
Asked for my burger cheese only and medium. Came out rare and with pickles and a bunch of stuff on it. I set it at the edge of the table assuming the waitress would say something and she didn’t care. Waitress who was working today was snobby and not good. Terrible experience
After dining at the café/restaurant near the check-in and concierge desk in the hotel lobby, I decided to use the restroom before leaving. The café/restaurant is located within the hotel lobby, and the restrooms are situated slightly toward the back of the space. While making my way to the restroom, I encountered a man dressed in mid-tone jeans and a light grey top who appeared to be instructing a staff member about handling guests and customers. He was standing in the passageway and didn’t move aside even after I politely said, "Excuse me." I had no choice but to navigate around him and the staff member to proceed. Less than a minute after I arrived at the restroom area and was waiting for it to become vacant, this same individual approached me in a rather abrupt and hostile manner, asking if I was a guest of the hotel. I explained that I had just dined at the café, but instead of acknowledging this, he told me that the restrooms were for hotel guests only and walked away without any apology or further clarification. This interaction was unnecessarily confrontational and could have been avoided entirely if he had first checked with the staff member he had just been speaking to—who would have known I was a paying customer. Even if this step had been missed, his approach could have been more polite and professional. Furthermore, a sincere apology after realizing I was a legitimate customer would have been the bare minimum expected in this situation. This individual’s behavior was unprofessional, especially for someone seemingly responsible for instructing other staff members. It was particularly disappointing because the other staff I encountered were warm, friendly, and accommodating. Unfortunately, this experience overshadowed what could have been an otherwise pleasant visit. It left me feeling upset and unwelcome.
