We went here for lunch on a Friday. The place was decently occupied. What I liked about the place was they were able to make adjustments quickly. We wanted to have a chicken burger and they got us that although it wasn't on the menu. The house salad was good..! The mushroom vegetarian cheese stick was tasty. Overall, we loved the taste and the quality. Service is good as well. The restaurant has priced its items just right.

service was great, dropped in for a beverage and to rest. staff was very friendly and attentive. ordered the fries and 2 cold beers. very clean restaurant. bartender offered diner suggestions and local spots.

The silver lining cheesesteak is absolutely phenomenal. Complimented with cherry peppers, it’s the perfect blend of savory with pockets of spicy mixed in Paired with the sweet potato fries it’s a dynamic duo of a meal when visiting Hudson Yards. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable on the menu however once we’d received our food the service slowed down quite a bit.

Food was decent. We were the first group of the day, and yet they were already out of lamb for their lamb burgers - not a great sign. I ordered the bluecy and it was pretty good. Nice flavor, right amount of blue cheese. Toppings were a bit boring. Lettuce, tomato, (raw) red onion, fry sauce. That was it… The fries were a bit uninspired. Given that I was already paying quite a lot for a burger, the expectation is that fries would be included. Nope. Had to shell over another $8 to get a small bowl of fries that were nothing to write home about. When it comes to American food, you can tell a lot about a place based solely on its fries, and Whitmans sadly fell short, in taste, quantity, and price. They didn’t even have a specialty sauce to help me swallow my overpriced fries. Beyond that, service was good. Ambiance was nice and classy. But I’m all about the FOOD when I dine out, and likely will opt for another option with better price-quality ratios.

Got takeout and it was delivered pretty quickly. The blue cheese burger and the grilled chicken salad were really good. I look forward to trying Whitmans in person

My friend and I went to Whitmans at 6pm on a Tuesday. Reservations were easy to make online. I would recommend making one because it was pretty popping! The ambiance is like a typical American joint, casual with occasional rowdiness from larger parties. We got the smash burger ($14), highline hanger burger ($16), bacon, egg and cheese burger ($15), and onion rings ($7). My favorite thing was the hanger burger. The burger was cooked perfectly medium-rare, which has been a rare thing to find these days. The meat was juicy and flavored well and the arugula complemented it nicely. Because the BEC and the smash burger have thinner patties, they end up tasting less juicy but still delicious! I was pleasantly surprised to say that the burgers are worth the price! However, I would pass on the onion rings the next time I return. The breading was not crispy and reminded me of soft shrimp tempura batter. There was also no flavor. Service was average. Our server did a check back and food came out quickly, despite the restaurant being busy. I would recommend checking out Whitmans if you are looking for a tasty burger and do not want to break the bank!

Great unexpected find near Hudson yards. Wanted a simple meal that wasn’t going to kill my wallet. Was able to find a decent burger with some amazing fried pickles. Just disappointed fries weren’t included in the cost of the burger. It was easy to get a table and service was very friendly. Nice selection of cold beers too. Perfect for a random night out with buddies.

This was somewhere we visited on a whim whilst we were in the area. The burgers smelt amazing but I got a grilled cheese and we had burger related plans later in the day. The food was great. It would've been nice if more drinks could have been offered

Stopped in for a bite after reading mostly positive reviews. Inside looked nice, but I was seated outside so not much to discuss regarding the atmosphere. My biggest issue was the service. Water came out almost immediately after I sat but then took another 25 minutes for the server to come out and take my order. No heaters set up on the outside so it was COLD. There were two other tables seated outside, both of which complained about the how long it took to get their checks. Of course when it was time to settle up, there was a delay in getting my check as well. Ordered the smash burger and loaded tots. The burger was ok, which is usually good enough for me. Worth the wait in the cold? No. Definitely not.

The Lucy juicy is one of the best burgers I've had in NYC but unfortunately it was paired with a very badly fried french fries and onion rings also the table was dirty when we sat in (it was a busy Saturday night) my Friend noticed a spider web as well. The staff were only 3 and so over worked between customers in the dine in and pickup orders. The place was pretty busy for what I experienced... But again the burger Lucy juicy is one great burger.
