Wonderful people and amazing food! Authentic and delicious. Both vegan and non vegan options and the hummus is great! I usually get the chicken kebab bowl. Love the salad part too.
Nice
I'mwas looking for a quick bite, and find on Google the closest place with a higher rates. Rate was 4.5, when alk others maximum 4.2-4.3, and zi decided to check what kind of that place is. Plus the name of the place "Zurna" is kind of familiar to me, so far I know it's the name of Azerbaijani 🇦🇿 musical wind instrument, and produces a piercing sound similar to the Scottish bagpipe. Small but cozy place with nice friendly, but not over familiar service makes you fill as if I had suddenly found myself back home, in my mom's kitchen. The jyro sandwich was not big, but at the size that make you full, but still let you move without any problem. Tasty chicken and a lot of choices of different veggies perfectly complemented the flavor experience. And I was I was pleasantly surprised when they told me the price. Sandwich plus seltzer water can just $13, and of course I left a tip what I also suggest to anyone who will enjoy that place. I'll definitely will come back and will take my friends with me.
This place is the truth. The food is fresh and prepared with care. Falafel is maybe the best I’ve ever had.
Adore this place. Food is really good and the older gentleman who works. There is just the best.
Delicious food! Reminded me of some of the meals I had in the Middle East - great addition to the neighborhood.
Falafel and hummus are delicious. Tight space. Best for takeout.
This place is SOOO delicious. 10/10 falafel
Falafel wrap is 6.99$, great prices, service, and tastes great!

My experience at Zurna Restaurant was truly enjoyable. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting ambiance that feels both comfortable and elegant, making it a great place for family dining or casual meetups. The food was delicious and well-prepared, with rich flavors and good attention to presentation. Each dish tasted fresh and satisfying, reflecting good quality overall. The staff were polite, welcoming, and provided attentive service throughout the visit. Everything was served in a timely manner, adding to the pleasant experience. Overall, Zurna Restaurant is a great choice for a relaxing and tasty dining experience. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to visiting again.
It's a little hole-on-the-wall place but the service is friendly and the falafel is fab.
Nice little place. Amazing addition to the neighborhood. The falafel is great, very nicely balanced across the board, filled just the right amount of everything else. Not too much sauce or salt like many places do to hide sub-par tastes. The actual pita was fresh and airy. Pricing is beyond great and the service was super friendly. My toddler was screaming his head off, because his mum was next door doing her eyebrows. One of the guys came out and offered him a falafel ball. The thing was so good I ate half of it lol, so I had to go in to buy a full meal and loved it.
perhaps the best falafel i’ve ever had!!
This restaurant just opened recently and I decided to stop in tonight. The owner was very sweet and gave me a free sample of falafel, which was well spiced and delicious. I asked him to make me a plate of whatever he liked, and he made me a large bowl with tasty rice, fresh salad, 2 meats, hummus, tzatziki, and hot sauce. Everything was very flavorful and well proportioned. For some people, the hot sauce might be a little spicy, but I enjoyed it! I’ll definitely stop here again for a quick bite after work.
I love this one on Broadway and 104. *That’s* a falafel sandwich. And for so much less than an arm and a leg. And the guys behind the counter are so warm and inviting it makes the restaurant atmosphere so much more.
My first time eating here though I’ve lived nearby for years now. The falafel pita was amazing and the hot sauce is great 🫶 will be back. My son wanted to leave a review too he says this place is really good they have the best falafel 😂
We got the falafel wrap and shawarma wrap. They were both stuffed with filling and flavorful. The shawarma was crisp and moist, and also had a nice little kick of spiciness. The falafel was also delicious - it had coriander seeds which gave it extra bursts of flavor which I loved. Those who like it saucy, I might recommend asking for an extra side of tahini or white sauce. Will definitely be back to try more of their dishes!!
This is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. When I stopped in to say hello when they first opened a couple weeks ago, they offered me a sample falafel. Delicious. They were also very mindful when I discussed allergies with them, and were able to let me know the ingredients in the falafel and hummus, and types of oil used to cook or bake things. My partner and I stopped in for a quick snack lunch today and decided to stay and dine outside; since opening they have added two indoor tables and two nice outdoor tables with wicker chairs and they’ve made a faux grass area, it is much more inviting than your usual takeout place. When you tell them, you are dining in, they actually present things a nice platter, so there is less waste than with takeout containers. The hummus drizzled with tahini and the grape leaves and falafel were delicious. They also have fun beverages from abroad as well as house made mint tea.
Wow!! A very solid falafel place, bets in UWS i had. Bread is extremely fresh , the falafel are cooked to perfection and the service is amazing! Will be a weekly staple for now on!
Great food and customer service! I highly recommend this place
I’d trust these men with my life. Best pita in NYC. Make sure you try the lentil soup.
Tasty falafel/shawarma and friendly staff. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and my go-to place for a quick and healthy takeout meal.
One of the best lamb shawarma I had in NJ/NY. Not a good place to dine in tough, but for the halal food, I can't give anything but 5-stars!
Best Falafel I had in a long time. The beet humas was excellent. The pita bread was as good and fresh as it gets.
Great takeout. Fresh and crispiest falafel ive had in a while!
THE BEST FOOD IN NYC. Great people and great food. Very old school. Highly recommend. And halal!
i'm glad it's still good. this used be the middle eastern restaurant "jerusalem". i've been here close to 30yrs, and jerusalem was always there. i was devastated when it closed. i'm so glad the new place is getting good reviews. i'll have to stop in..
Amazing shawarma for such a reasonable price. Will definitely come back. Nice owners too and outdoor seating

Amazing place to pick up a quick meal. Staff are friendly, food is fresh and delicious. Not much space to sit, but grab something and head to the park to eat. I love the falafel pita or plate. Glad to have them close by
Delicious falafel sandwich and excellent customer service! I wish we had Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food like this in New Jersey. Highly recommend!
So, so good; can’t wait to go back!! I had a pita pocket with a bunch of veggies. The worker went above and beyond to accommodate my and my friend’s (annoying) requests. Planned to get just one sandwich but couldn’t. It’s that good.
Great pricing, good falafel and wonderful service behind the counter. A pita falafel was $7 and it was fresh.
Excellent falafel bowl with salad: the falafel are freshly made and the consistency is a perfect mix of crunchy on the outside, and soft (but still a bit chunky) on the inside. Lots of options for veggies in the bowl, babaganoush and hummus as a standard on the bowl, and the tahini is super super delicious. Maybe the best falafel on UWS!
Best food I had my whole NY trip, absolutely amazing service and must try, please do yourself a favor and come eat here, its such a good vibe.
Best falafel in the city. Hands down.

Yes! Food is delicious. Gem on the upper west
Good men. Clean and big size food menu. Thank you.
I was so sad when their long-time predecessor closed, but I despair no more. The lovely new owner has hired some beloved former staff members. To say that the falafel is tastefully delicious might sound a bit corny, but take me at my word when I say that this describes the culinary experience to a “ t”. Still, these words do not adequately depict the joy and satisfaction I derive from going here. It’s not only the fabulous food but it’s also the atmosphere, ambiance, and experience. I go at least weekly if not more, and so reasonably priced with all the fixin’s. I love it here.
I ordered for delivery through the link on the website. Turned out to be Doordash. It took 2 hours and 15 minutes to get the food. I complained with Doordash. When I got the food, it was delicious. The beef was dry and chewy and that could be a little because of the wait. Baba ganoush and humid were delicious.
The falafel here is just so good - unbelievably moist and flavorful and perfectly fried. Definitely my new go to in the neighborhood. Don't sleep on the pickled veggies.
Staffs are so friendly! The price is very fair and the food is very good as well! I recommend their soup!
Delicious falafel sandwich and homemade lentil soup exceeded expectations. Soup was served very hot (tho in a plastic container) the way I prefer but rarely get - particularly in fast casual restaurants. Friendly staff. Dined in @9:30pm in one of the few tiny tables.
Amazing food, affordable, super kind workers, would come back for beef shawarma every time
Best food and best people. The cook and the older gentleman taking our order love their jobs and really took care of us. Both the chicken and beef shawarma were cooked to perfection, with the right amount of juiciness and charred flavor. Even the bread was great. The man taking our order was very welcoming and hospitable. Perfect neighborhood halal spot.

Beautiful
Lovely staff and good falafel. Not the best I’ve eaten but everything is very fresh and very clean.
Good 👍
The only place to get a quick bite of shawarma and falafel in the neighborhood. Thankfully, it's pretty good. Staff is friendly and accommodating, if a little curt. There are two tables (2 seats each) set up outside and two (2 seats each) on the inside against the wall (if you don't mind the butts of people ordering near your food). The hummus was fresh, and my beef shawarma was decent though the meat was overdone. Will return to try the other food on the menu.
I’ve been looking for a Bereket replacement for two decades now. Still looking, but this spot is decent… for some items. This is the best option for middle eastern style shawarma/ kofta kebob sandwiches & falafel in this hood. The average to poor halal trucks don’t count & that other spot a few doors down is pretty much a food truck version I’m a brick and mortar location. Some sandwiches are decent. The chicken is always way too dry and flavorless; can you say under seasoned ? Stick with beef and lamb, and alway get it spicy (3.5/5 level of heat). The star of this spot is the falafel. It’s superior on multiple levels. 4/5. The tahini it comes with is water downed and lacks flavor, ask for garlic sauce, aka toum. You’re welcome. A tad $$$ for what you get but it’s all we got so there’s that. 1/6/25: Lamb over rice is solid. 4/5. Chunks of lamb. Flavor full rice. Quantity is small. Not spicy. 2-8-25: skip their burger. It’s a frozen patty. Dry and under seasoned 5/25/25: skip the spinach pie. No matter the protein, they always under season and overcook- Kofta kebab, any beef, it’s borderline almost dry….their wings are decent though, could use more salt but not bad. Eating here is a crap shoot but where else ya gonna go…

Very disappointing. I ordered delivery yesterday to break my fast. By supporting a Halal business. Aside from the beef sambousek which was excellent everything was not tasty. The kofta kabob was basically gyro meat. And the backlawa was ancient and inedible.
Bad, slow and inattentive service. very acidic and salty falafel pita (aka falafel sandwich 🇺🇸), salads were not made with olive oil or good quality ingredients. +1 star for the falafel balls being made on the spot.
So, i went to get a TooGoodtoGo bag from Zurna. This program provides an opportunity for a restaurant to help prevent food wastage and to highlight their product. For my $5.99, I got quite the measly salad, a small portion of rice, and blandly cooked chicken. A bit of white sauce, no hot sauce, no pita, and an offer of a plastic bag, for $1.00. Maybe they think that the lower (but not low) price of the TooGoodtogo bag means that they should provide a measly, blandly prepared offering. It does not.
Got the beef and lamb shawarma, ate in. Meat was dry and grainy with no flavor, terrible. Service was friendly but not very helpful. Good price though.
food was overpriced for the quality—and more expensive than listed online? the halal bowl had no flavor and the shawarma wrap was just thrown together, not good at all. we were very disappointed ):

One of the worst takeout experiences I’ve ever had. Food not as advertised and also pretty bad. Cheese fries described as with “melted cheddar and mozzarella, topped with crispy bacon and fresh herbs.” Came with American cheese (or maybe cheez whiz?) and nothing else. Chewiest beef shawarma I’ve ever had. Pretty gross. Don’t waste your money here.
Bad food and very, very expensive believe me is the worst of the worst
Sorry to say test old food
Small amounts of undercooked cauliflower, missing chopped salad, missing pickles, and lots of cheap lettuce in a “cauliflower bowl”. Cold store-bought pita. Might have been happier just eating the money I paid.
Beef wrap was almost impossible to eat, it was to hard full of fat
I ordered lunch at this restaurant on Too Good to Go and thought it would surprise me, but I didn't know it was a disappointment! The food is scarce, the taste is mediocre, and the vegetables are not too fresh. Considering that I have had a bad experience ordering on Too Good to Go several times, I have decided to delete this app and no longer use it
