Wonderful meal in an elegant and relaxed environment. Sat at the bar and the bartender was professional in all interactions with me and other guests. Ordered an old fashioned, and trout dish and both were delicious. Service was prompt and without fault. The lighting inside the restaurant and bar we perfect and made a difference in the experience. A huge fan of the Hillstone group restaurants (Hillstone Park Ave is my fave restaurant in NYC)! Gulfstream has a good atmosphere, great food and excellent service. I recommend the smoked salmon clam chowder and trout. The rotisserie chicken is a classic fave at any Hillstone restaurant, so you can't go wrong with that either!

03/2025 update. Loved the sashimi & kale salad and the ruby red trout is also delicious. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻to raising the price 300% on the biscuits that are also 1/2 their original size. The biscuits were fun at four for $4 but completely unacceptable at four for $12.. Tried the tuna tare tare but it tasted more Like an uncooked version of their tuna burger-pass but good effort. Martinis and cocktails were delicious, well prepared and a fair poor. —- 11/2023 update. well, I am downgrading my rating because I think the food is slipping. The prices have gone up and quality/quantity seems to have gone down. we did not have a single thing that was amazing…the ribeye for $65 was good but not great and plating was meh; the trout was at least 30% smaller and overcooked. The artichokes which WERE a shining star when in season were over steamed or boiled before hitting the grill and the remoulade or dipping sauce tasted like a makeshift steak sauce with mustard or horseradish - very disappointing. 9/2023 update. I had previously highly recommended the tuna burger which I can no longer do. I have been twice in the past 30 days and the tuna burger has turned into a bland shadow of its former self. So it’s off my list of favorites. That said, Gulf Stream is still solid 5-stars and the trout is now my shining star on the menu. Although the rotisserie chicken, and possibly more so, the couscous side dish, were also wonderful as well. The level of professionalism from the minute you walk in the door until you leave is top notch and the quality of the food is wonderful. Wow!! Excellent punctual service with great tasting dishes. My friends birthday celebration with my friend invited me and his family to a wonderful celebration at lunch . He ordered the artichoke appetizers with great sauces and other appetizers too. A real feel good atmosphere with delectable dishes. I had their cheeseburger and fries a great burger at that!! It was a great time with my friend and his family at this restaurant .

Outstanding experience at Gulfstream — ask for Anna! We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Gulfstream, and a huge part of that was our incredible server, Anna. She may very well be the best server on planet Earth. From the moment we sat down, Anna was attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about making our experience great. Everything was timed perfectly, she was on top of every detail, and her energy made the entire meal even more enjoyable. The moment that truly set her apart: my wife accidentally left her phone on the table, and before we even realized it and turned back, Anna had already run it out to our car. That level of awareness, honesty, and hustle is rare these days and deserves serious recognition. The food and atmosphere at Gulfstream were excellent, but Anna’s service took it to another level. If you’re dining here, do yourself a favor and ask for her. We’ll absolutely be back — and it’ll be because of service like this.

Went for lunch. Has the shrimp cocktail which is the best on the west coast and then the fish sandwich which eas awaeome. Food here is excellent. Bar is top shelf. Service is professional. This is a must try for Newport Beach.

When I’m hungry and want something healthy I head here and order the feast. It feeds 4-6 people, but I love taking the leftovers home and having it for lunch and dinner the next day. The feast is chicken skewers interlaced with tomatoes, green peppers and onions along side rice and two different salads of your choice. If you want some variety you can change a skewer for koobideh, salmon, lamb or shrimp for a charge. Service was quick and friendly when I visited on a Saturday night. Parking can be a challenge, but a little walk builds up the appetite and is good for digestion.

We ordered the Hummus Trio as the appetizer, Falafel Platter and Charbroiled Organic Tofu Kabob as the entrees, and Homemade Tiramisu for dessert. The appetizer came in within two minutes but the entrees took forever because it was a Sunday evening and there were a lot of customers. The food was yummy and the very filling portion sizes. The good food made up for the wait time. Friendly and super-occupied staff. No complaints on the ambiance. The Tiramisu was yum!

This panini kabob grill location was great. Smaller than the Irvine location but food still tastes wonderful. The main road makes it a bit louder but the atmosphere was good and, staff was polite and food was perfect like the Irvine location. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for good Mediterranean food

I've ridden my bike by this place at least a 100 times and always wanted to try it out. Glad to say that I finally did and it was great. The breakfast is very American style with no Mediterranean flavors so keep that in mind. I got the combo plate with french toast and was very good. My girl got the avocado toast with a poached egg and she liked hers as well. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. Cheers

One of the better Mediterranean restaurant franchises. The portions are large and overall price is very reasonable. Personally, I usually go to the Aliso Viejo outlet as it is closer and I have found the quality of food is basically great in all branches. Salads and dressings are served in great portions and tasty in flavor. One small difference though is that the Rice Pillaf at the Aliso Viejo branch is so tasty and fluffy, another reason for me to go their most of the time. Overall, five stars to all their branches.

Had a great experience at Gulfstream in Newport Beach! I sat at the bar this time, which was nice, but I’m definitely coming back to try their outdoor patio, it looks beautiful and relaxing. I ordered a sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was incredibly tender and full of flavor. The service was attentive and the ambiance upscale yet comfortable. That said, the prices are definitely on the higher end, and it can get a bit crowded during peak hours, so be prepared for a wait if you don’t have a reservation. Still, the food and overall vibe make it worth a return visit.

No birthday cake 🎂 is allowed to be served here. I had brought my friend’s favorite cake to celebrate her birthday and had no clue this is against restaurant’s policy which is the first time I’m hearing about it after so many birthday celebrations locally and internationally. I still could be fine with it as long as it was noted on the website or on the guidelines which was texted along with reservation info. After talking to one of the managers he also mentioned that they need to make sure to share this info online or through text to avoid any further inconvenience for future costumers.

You have to try their signature biscuits WITH honey! They’re excellent! Hot, fresh and fluffy on the inside. I LOVE their New Orleans BBQ shrimp dish! So good! But it is on the sweet side. I would lower the sugar amount by a pinch or two. The Newport Beach clam chowder is good too. But the 2nd time I had it, it wasn’t hot enough and seemed a little salty. I was not impressed by their margarita. But the staff and clientele are pretty friendly all around.

Food was great, service was a little slow on a Saturday morning. You can pretty much split the whole avocado toast, as well as the omelets! The falafel wrap tasted really good but it could've used a lot more falafel inside. Maybe left whole, instead of chopped up - just my opinion. Will definitely be back though!

Had the tuna salad and the rotisserie chicken with wild rice. Both were just ok. Wild rice was a little hard. Atmosphere though? Very pleasant. I’ll be back to try more.

First time dining here. It’s a very small, tight space with a few outside tables, however it’s right on Coast Hwy so quite busy with traffic. Food is fresh and plentiful. Forgot to snap photos! We got the hummus trio appetizer, the spicy one had the best and most flavor of the trio. The regular hummus was flat—dry, tasteless and the edamame was similar. The server really pushed the Koobidah and said it’s very popular. It was very plain without any real flavor. The Mediterranean Salad was very good and fresh. Tzatziki was also tasteless and odd with long pieces of some type of leaves? It’s a very popular place, at least in a late Saturday afternoon. Bathrooms are out the back, down some stairs, then up some stairs, inside a door with more stairs! Shared with other businesses within the complex. No way anyone who cannot do stairs will be able to get to the bathrooms!

I ordered catering from Panini Catering for my mother’s birthday celebration, and it was an absolute disaster. Every single red meat item—including all the beef skewers—arrived severely undercooked and completely raw inside. This wasn’t a minor oversight; it was a serious health hazard that could have made someone sick. Not only was the food unsafe, but it also ruined a special occasion. Guests were left hungry, and we had to scramble to cook the meat ourselves during the party. Imagine trying to salvage raw, catered food in the middle of a celebration—completely unacceptable. When I contacted the business, they offered a measly $50 refund for what was clearly a total failure on their part. No real apology, no accountability from management, and no attempt to take meaningful responsibility for what happened. This experience was deeply disappointing and upsetting. If you care about food safety, reliability, or simply not being embarrassed in front of your guests, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I would never trust this company with a special event again.

I have been ordering food from panini since we moved to Newport about 14 years ago and have seen more store openings across OC and LA. I have also witnessed their prices increasing slowly every year while the quality and quantity of the food decreasing at the same time but nonetheless we have been patrons of this establishment in a regular basis mostly due to convenience. However, last night was likely the last time we have ordered from PKG as it has got to a point of ridiculousness. I reluctantly ordered two family combos for 4 for $152 only to come home and look at the koobideh container with pieces cut off and nothing hanging together. My wife actually questioned whether these were another party’s leftovers that were put in our order. Prices have increased everywhere and I totally understand that but the quality degradation at PKG is just absolutely unacceptable. It’s a pity.
