Small, cozy atmosphere with a unique menu. Local caught oysters were a delight to the palette. The meals were full of flavor and perfect temperature. Nice beer and drink selections. The noise level could get high at times but was not a deterrent. Staff was pleasant and attentive at full capacity. I highly recommend for your next outing. You will not be disappointed.
HOLY SMOKES this place is incredible. The food is so *fresh* and just really, really good. Affordable prices for such elevated food. The flavors were complex, but very satisfying. Honestly the best beet dish and kale dish I’ve ever had. Plus they had Maine lunch ON TAP. Definitely check them out. You’ll be seriously sorry if you don’t. Menu seems to change frequently as it was different online than when I dined. They also have a sister restaurant in Mystic called Barbary Coast. Can’t wait to try it (and to return here!). Great ambiance, very comfortable inside. Fun music playlist and very friendly service. Can’t believe how I stumbled on this place because of the reviews. … WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Go!
We stopped by the area and enjoyed some great food, including Lebanese wings, Israeli beets, and handmade pasta were all delicious. The oysters were locally grown and very fresh, though a bit small and had a few shell fragments. Come before 6pm for happy hour discounts on shared dishes and oysters!!
Adorable and delicious! We ended up here because we were at the sister restaurant Barbary Coast in Mystic (we only had cocktails but they were amazing and the food looked awesome) and we needed a brunch place and they recommended this. Glad they did! We loved everything about it! Cute bar, great service, awesome food. We would highly recommend it!
Read the great reviews and so glad we decided to try it! This place was Amazing-food was flavorful. The cornbread was outstanding and the hot honey chicken was so juicy. Great atmosphere too
All the dishes were cooked textbook. Super Flavorful And fresh. The Nashville, hot chicken sandwich had a solid kick, All the condiments and toppings were fresh and delicious. The cornbread was out of this world. It could be served as a dessert. So incredibly good.
I have to say this is hands down one of the best brunch places I’ve tried in CT. The mimosas were amazing- you could tell there was freshly squeezed orange juice. The brussel sprouts were out of this world. I would go here just for those and the margs. Lastly, the Peddler Benny was PHENOMENAL. I asked for it to be on the buttermilk biscuit instead of an English muffin, and it was the perfect combination of smokey and savory mouth watery goodness. Love love love! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had never seen this many stars on review. We backed out of many reservations at Hells Kitchen and Jordan's Steakhouse. Best choice I've EVER MADE. Let me tell you, I've been doing this a LONG time and this is one of the best restaurants I've EVER eaten at. Service and atmosphere were outstanding from the start, and I expected regression. When the oysters hit the table, I had to ask the waitress to try n stall the dinner. We needed MORE. The apps, the steak, the tomatoes, the cookies, OMG, the oysters.... all, best I've ever had. I wish I could give six stars. It was THAT good. I've cooked for over 30 years. It was the best steak I've ever had. Half the price of the casinos, twice the farm to table food. We're going back tomorrow morning, I need more oysters FROM THEIR drive-through PICKUP,... WHAT? This will be one of the best restaurant experiences you've ever had. I voted, you will too.... Vote, best new restaurant in CT., and I am NOT affiliated with them at all. I just know you will, too,.... a great experience when you have it. I didn't even mention their top shelf wine, beer, and bourbon selections. I wish I could express more how much this is one of the best restaurants I've EVER eaten at. 6 stars That 4.9 star review becomes abundantly clear immediately.
The chicken noodle soup was homemade and delicious.turkey sandwich with avocado spread fantastic. Served with a side, I chose field greens. Country style feel to place. Large craft beer selection. Indoor and outside seating. Nice staff and super clean facility
Just visited this weekend after the new renovation and Wow! What a moody and relaxing vibe. The new bar (with plenty of seating) fits so well in the space, and I am so excited to try all the amazing local beer and delectable cocktail choices eventually! Pineapple marg and pomegranate sangria were great! Per usual, food is amazing, a few of the new menu additions we tried: curried devilled eggs and the wings- so tasty!! The Nashville chicken sandwich was amazing! And I'm never disappointed by the desserts- the basque cheesecake and chocolate torte were out of this world good, the chocolate was just so rich and dark and the fruit and glaze with the cheesecake I cannot get over. Pro tip- get a chocolate chip with sea salt cookie to go! I do everytime they have them! Crispy chicken with couscous and herbs below- yum!
Amazing place went there for our 2 year anniversary was one of the best Nashville hot chicken sandwiches I've ever had the only thing I would say to change is the band playing so close to the tables that's my opinion I definitely recommend this place my wife loved it aswell
Food is phenomenal. We had the mushroom sandwich and roast beef sandwich with a side of pasta salad, and wow it was all so flavorful. Easy parking, fast, cute place! Will be back!!
Went to lunch with my sister. They have indoor and outdoor dining and the food is awesome! I had the roast turkey sandwich with herb mayo and the bacon cranberry spread. Amazing! My sister had the Cobb bowl and loved it too. Nice selection of food- something for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. And gluten-free options as well! What a find!
I was super impressed with everything here and will make it a point to come back. The corn bread with whipped jalapeño butter and honey was incredible. Oh and interesting mock tails to be had! I toy an apple cider who coconut milk concoction which was unique and enjoyable.
Had a fantastic lunch! The roast beef sandwich was delicious. The inside is super cute. I will definitely be back for the breakfast.
Stopped by for lunch. Great service. The food was delicious. Although the fries were pretty good, skip the $2 add-on and get the macaroni salad. It’s perfect. We ordered the Smash Burger and the Peddler Burger. Both were very good. The music they played was terrific. I will go back. The location seems a little odd. Don’t let this dissuade you. They also offer some great cocktail options to include the Negroni and Maple Old Fashioned.
Superb! Best restaurant around. Our favorite time is brunch, worlds greatest egg sandwich and home fries, along with their pancake stack. It’s our favorite weekend treat! A must try if you haven’t already :) lunch photo for fun
We had a Lovely New Years Eve Eve with you all🎉🎈🎉🍾🥂 and what to send a Warm Thank You again to whomever the wonderful person was that covered our tab, We are so Happy we brought you Joy❣️ Wishing a Blessed New Year to you All. Loved your festive head toppers.
Hidden Gem in southeastern CT, with unique delectable options for all. All of the dishes honored every ingredient on the plate.
One of the best brunches I've ever had, start to finish. Seriously don't skip the chocolate cookies they were the best ever. @amp_eats (instagram and Facebook)
Very good food quality! I had their version of Eggs Benedict, with braised pork belly and smashed home fries. Yum!!
I visited Nashville, TN last year with friends, and have been trying to find a similar spicy chicken sandwich. I stopped by the Tin Peddler in North Stonington after work for takeout and decided to try the "Nashville Chicken", with tangy slaw, pickles, kewpie mayo, and a homemade bun. It was everything I could have imagined in the first bite. Spicy and delicious! The fries were an added bonus. Looking forward to going back with friends to try more items on the menu.
Wow! So happy to discover this relatively new little gem on the way home from Misquamicut beaches! The mushroom sandwich on its perfect mini baguette was primo gourmet food, literally one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten... and I am a serious foodie. The side dishes were also spectacularly yummy -- roasted beet salad & chickpea/artichoke. (And don't miss the salted caramel rice krispie treats... oh and did I mention, Sangria with local fresh blueberries?!) The friendly owners are committed to local, fresh food and were pleased to chat about where the food was sourced. Can't wait to go back. This will now be a planned stop for beach trips!!
The Tin Peddler is a real gem. It has a delicious menu made from local ingredients of amazingly high quality, and their presentation and atmosphere were top notch. One of the best brunches I’ve had for a very reasonable rate.
A good friend recommended I try the Tin Pedlar. Which I did and not only were expectation met but exceed. To start, I had a few items from the raw bar, oysters 😋. I ordered the pan roasted Swordfish. It came on a bed of beans also with an arugula salad. The beans were delicious, very savory with a nice spice kick to it. The arugula was delightful, not overdressed or underdressed. With a lovely vinegarette with the right amount tartness..... The swordfish was cook to perfection, moist and firm, and hot throughout.👌The best Swordfish I've ever eaten, maybe even the best fish I've eaten in Restaurant..... 2 warmed chocolate chip cookies for desert.... 👍👍👍👍
Chef-Approved Hidden Gem As a CIA-trained chef, I appreciate quality—and this place truly delivers. From the outside, it may not catch your eye, but step inside and you’ll find a thoughtfully designed, spacious, and inviting space. The menu is small and well-curated. Every dish I tried was executed with care, balanced flavors, and clean presentation. The staff was warm and attentive, and the drinks were spot-on. It’s a place that doesn’t try too hard—because it doesn’t have to. A quiet gem done right. Highly recommended.
A hidden gem -- at least for now, because it definitely won't stay that way for long. This place is worth the drive all on its own. Skip Mystic, come here instead -- delicious food and incredibly hospitable people :)
Driving back to Boston from NY/NJ and needed a lunch spot with the kids that wasn’t fast food. What a surprising find! Great food. Fantastic kids menu and very nice staff. 5 minutes off 95. Totally worth the detour.
Awesome experience all around. Such kind and attentive people. The waitress saw my daughter eating a chunk of watermelon from my wife’s drink (we’re good parents!) and went into the back and brought out a plate of sliced watermelon. Also, the food was absolutely delicious. My 9 and 6 year old crushed the pasta on the adult menu and the burger and steak were excellent. I would highly recommend this place.
Stopped by with a friend before an event at Foxwoods for cocktails and apps. Food was great, server was awesome and the place was very nicely redone. Will come back next time I'm in the area!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped in at The Tin Peddler and was blown away — especially by the deviled eggs. Hands down some of the best I’ve ever had: rich, flavorful, and beautifully done. The whole experience matched the food: warm, stylish atmosphere and service that felt friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
We just happened to driving past here and saw this gem and it's wonderful reviews. The glowing reviews are accurate. The staff is friendly and inviting. The interior is clean and cute. Whomever is making food in the kitchen obviously knows and loves what they are doing.
Perhaps it was just the juxtaposition after eating food from the Great Wolf Lodge for several days, but HOLY COW was our food delicious. Can’t miss place for any families taking the trip out to the new attraction. Probably even worth sneaking away from the Lodge more than once during a long stay! Fish sandwich, Nashville Chicken, and pancakes were highlights!
The food, service, and atmosphere are all top notch! Every dish we've tried here has been flavorful and delicious. My favorite is the roasted turkey sandwich and my husband had the spicey Thai chicken sandwich and he raved about the flavors (bonus to him were the perfectly cooked shoestring french fries)! I also am currently eating dairy free and they were very accommodating and considerate to my allergy. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a dining option in the Stonington area.
The meal felt exquisite and made me truly savor the mouth with each bite. The burger here especially is one of the best burgers I have tasted in a long while. The other dishes we picked were also very authentic and I felt like I haven’t had enough yet.Kelsey is a great people-person, and provided detailed service.
What an amazing local spot in CT! Quality ingredients used in dishes and some absolutely delicious homemade meals. Stopped in for a late lunch and the turkey sandwich was so delicious. They served hime made French fries too!! Wings are really tasty. The people were super friendly and provided quality service right from stepping through the door. Try the Sailor Jerry with Coke instead of a Captain or Bacardi.
Ok now, you will look at the pictures, and be like, eh,,,, ya, thats what we thought. Party of 10, great service, but the food totally surprised us. EVERYTHING was so good. You would never think this small, run of the mill looking restaurant could be so good. But it was. Go and be surprised as well. Enjoy.
This was our first time here 😄. The service was good. We had the oven roasted turkey sandwich with bacon jam absolutely delicious. Will be returning.
Well folks, I made my way over to The Tin Peddler in North Stonington, and let me tell ya, I had high hopes. Ordered myself a burger — but here’s where ol’ wilson went wrong — forgot to ask for no onions. Now, I like a good onion when it plays nice, but this here was like the whole town of Vidalia showed up to the party. Strong, plentiful, and running the show. Couldn’t taste much else, so I can’t honestly give the burger a fair shake this time. My fault entirely. Now, on to the good news — and there’s plenty. The cornbread? Lord have mercy… this was golden perfection. Moist, buttery, with a crisp top that crunches just so, and a dab of that creamy spread that made my eyes roll back. Honestly, some of the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had my share. The fresh-cut fries were spot-on — crispy, seasoned just right, and tasting like they were peeled and fried just for me. Service was friendly and attentive, and the place has a nice easygoing charm. Prices? A tad high, sure, but for quality like that cornbread and fries, I’ll forgive ‘em. Next time, I’ll remember to hold the onions and give that burger a proper, honest wilson review. Until then, I’ll be thinking about that cornbread.
I’ve always wanted to try this place and finally got a chance! It’s a really cute restaurant and loved seeing the beautiful dahlias on the table. The menu is small but there’s a little something for everyone. I got the pomegranate sangria and thought that was really good! They had a decent draft list with some local breweries! I did feel like they could have poured a little more in our drinks but besides that they were good! We ordered two curry deviled eggs which were very tasty and nice with the crispy shallots on top! I ordered the peddler burger which was good quality and well cooked. The side salad was nice and fresh tasting. I also got the twice baked potato which was really good! My husband got the Nashville chicken and thought it was good and the fries were really good and nicely seasoned! The only con was we didn’t really like the ranch but if they had blue cheese to dip the Nashville chicken in, it would have been delicious! Everything was made with really good quality ingredients. Service was a little slow but there was only one person waiting on tables and we were there on a Monday at 3pm so an off peak time which I completely understand. We ordered the butternut squash crème brûlée and chocolate chip cookies to go (comes with 2 per order). The brûlée was more like a pumpkin pie but could have used whipped cream on top to help balance the sweetness. The crust could have been a little crispier but overall a nice Fall flavor. The chocolate chip cookies were a nice consistently and we ate them warm and as is and they were both good! I would have preferred the salt to be sprinkled more all around the cookie since it gives it a nice flavor altogether. It looks like there are some nice deals on Mondays and Thursdays too. They have nice brunch options too! I would definitely visit again!
Food portions were small but tasty. Small dining area. Our waitress was very attentive.
Good food. Pleasant wait staff. If I had one complaint it would be that the eggs on the Eggs Benedict were over done, but that is being extremely nitpicky. All around good place for brunch.
We stopped in for drinks and small plates. At first wasn't too impressed with the menu, however, when the food arrived, it was delicious! We had curried deviled eggs, creamed ricotta and pita and spiced wings. All absolutely delicious! This along with an unusually delicious Sake cocktails! Will be back for the famous fried chicken!
Mussels were amazing as an appetizer big portions good taste 10/10. The tortellini on the other hand had a very heavy sauce it was tossed in that I wasn’t a fan of also it was $24 for like 6 pieces of pasta. My mother liked her bolognese but again super small portions for the price. I would re-visit definitely though solely for the mussels and a drink.
Not my favorite. I'm sorry. It was cute and had a home town feel. I went here completely blind. I heard good eggs Benedict and went completely rogue. I didn't like the pork belly but again that's a me thing. I also wasn't a fan of the sauce. The potatoes were amazing and the entire meal kept me full the whole day.
The whole staff were very nice but not sure what was going on in the kitchen. It took 45 minutes for food to come out for two and it wasn’t that crowded. When I got my $40 steak (not too big) it was only slightly warm. The sautéed veggies were slightly warm too. The potatoes were hot which tells me the steak and vegetables were sitting there. They said everything was made to order, but then why wasn’t it hot! It was Very frustrating
Looking to try something new, I came with a large party for a friend’s birthday, a reservation was made ahead of time. Though, they weren’t very busy when we arrived. Staff were prepared and kindly provided a slice of cake to celebrate. This was a very nice gesture. Since I knew the location was a subway in a former life, and having been out of town for several years, I had flashbacks to ordering an Italian sub at the converted counter. I found the atmosphere and dining experience to be confusing. I’m not sure if this is because I’m privileged to know the building’s past life and what is a repurposed or explicit remnant of that life or it’s the mix of deli counter/gift store/menu price point that had me confused. In the evening, the lights were dimmed and candles were lit on the tables. While my roast beef sandwich was tasty, the 2$ add on for french fries wasn't worthwhile for the shreds of potato that arrived with my sandwich. Others in my party seemed to enjoy their entrees. The drinks were good. The appetizers, in my opinion, need work. A small skillet of runny buffalo chicken dip with a few saltine crackers hardly seemed worth 14$. Additional saltines were provided by a staff member walking by as what seemed to be an after thought. We ordered the “pickles and ferments”, and asked our staff member which “ferments”, since the menu didn’t specify. They stated it was a very popular dish but didn’t seem to know more than that. We took our chances. While the cucumbers were delicious, the carrots and other veggies gained mixed reviews at our table. Overall, I prefer to eat at “local” establishments. My entree was good and I enjoyed the sandwich. If I lived locally, I might stop through their drive thru window for the sandwich alone. Rather unsure I’d make the drive as a return customer - even if the menu changes with the seasons and sources locally.
I'm sorry. I never do this, but it was a pricey salad. The 90% kale salad could have used more dressing or maybe some dressing? I didn't taste any and was too dark to see. The roasted veggies were tiny chopped pieces and hardly any feta ( my only flavor). I'm hoping they forgot to put it together. I also didn't see our server again to ask until everyone was done eating. An opportunity for more dressing, veggies and maybe another drink to wash my dry plain salad down would have been nice.
Friends raved about this place so I decided to order takeout. Got the mushroom pasta dish. The woman who assisted me was very pleasant and friendly and I really loved the atmosphere inside. Sadly I went to eat my meal (which was $30 for just the mushroom pasta dish) and it was completely inedible due to the amount of pepper in it. I really tried to give it a go and finish the meal since I had paid for it and am usually not very picky, but I just kept coughing and had to immediately drive to Dunkin to sip on a refresher because I was almost breathing fire.
I ordered the Mushroom Torta. $16. The bread was soggy greasy, the cheese was overcooked and was the consistency of leather. I think there were three or four overcooked mushrooms in there. Two bites and I couldn’t eat any more. Never again.
