Our first time for dinner. Great appetizers and split the lasagna dinner and the best tiramisu we've ever tasted!

Exactly what we envisioned!! Delicious pizza and delicious meatballs with very good Pinot grigio wine! The villagio barrage pizza was so good we ordered a second to take home! We we slightly disappointed when we left that nobody said goodbye or thank you as we exited bit we will definitely be back!

Best Pizza in the valley. Crisp New York style thin crust, fresh quality ingredients. I usually go on Friday night, it's crowded. Call ahead for reservations.

One of the best west coast pizza places I've ever found. Wait, make that one of the best pizza places I've been to anywhere AND they serve so much more than pizza. Their cannolis are fantastic.

This was my first time visiting and had a wonderful time. Very clean inside and the food and service was great. Special thanks to my server Cassandra for going above and beyond and making it a special experience.

Fantastico. I am from New York. Although I am not Italian, many of our neighbors and friends were of Italian heritage. My folks had their own business and had to work some nights. Our next door neighbors were immigrants from Sicily. Mrs. Palmeri would take care of my brother and I. She cooked everything from scratch, including making her own Pasta. My wife and I visit NYC occasionally and always try to go to our favorite Italian restaurant in the Village. It is southern Italian. Villagio is as close to what I remember good southern Italian cooking should be in this corner of California. The pomodoro sauce is as authentic as I have ever had. It is just great and we will be regulars working our way through their menu. Yesterday, I had the eggplant parmigian for lunch and we are going back for dinner tonight. If you are a visitor, snowbird or full time resident of the Coachella Valley, this is the place for authentic New York Italian food.

The pizza and salads are amazing! Really exceptional. My only criticism would be to train their employees a bit better. I called and asked the delivery dollar amount minimum and the girl that answered just could not understand what i meant though i tried many ways to explain. I asked for manager and he wasn't very friendly or sympathetic. Regardless, the food is fantastic for what it is.

As always, the food and the servers were great! We always enjoy eating at Villagio. You can always expect to be greeted with friendly servers and no matter who serves you, you can expect the best service! Their portions are always generous and you'll never leave hungry, more often than not, you'll leave with leftovers.

Pizzas are out of this world!! Thin crust and they have the little pepperoni sliced thick. Great happy hour from 4 to 6 every night. $4 drafts and glasses of wine. Great service too!

We had a great meal and splendid time. The service was good, but the food made the evening. Fresh cut everything, wonderful seasoning in the garlic shrimp and just right crust on the pizza.

R

Wow, was very impressed with their pizza. I was craving some good pizza and order takeout. Their pizza is not only brick oven style and flavorful but also the ingredients are very high-quality and generous amount of toppings. Would order again in a heartbeat!

Finest Italian food in the Coachella Valley. All fresh ingredients, good size portions and a great price. I want to thank Bill and the staff for doing a great job hosting my family's event in the private room with over 30 people to feed many of them from New Jersey and New York. They commented that Pizzeria Villagio is one of the finest Italian restaurants they have been to. They want you to open up back east where they live. They know their Italian food. GREAT JOB!

Dinner prices are $$ to $$$, but the portions are large and very palate-pleasing. For true Italian cuisine aficionados, you may find the server a bit lacking in knowledge, so expect him or her to make a few inquiry runs to the chef!

Fantastic food! The service was good considering we were in a huge party. The food came out quickly despite it being a busy Friday night AND we were in a big party of about 40+ people. The food was some of the best Italian we've had since coming to California. The pepperoni was legit on the kids' pizza. My spaghetti carbonara was very flavorful and a huge portion. I highly recommend this restaurant!

M
Milt Mallory

Had spaghetti carbonara (excellent) has procutto and egg! Meat lovers pizza is thin crust and meaty.

L
Lindsay Shepherd

Their pizza is so good! Thin crust cooked to perfection! Big slices! A little too pricey but it doesn't disappoint, and really friendly staff for the most part, except a couple of them acted kinda snobby!

A nice Italian restaurant in a quiet office building/strip type mall. The food is good and the wait staff is efficient and very friendly. Even our fellow diners were friendly and fun. Great for families and large groups. Very accomodating.

Dinner was good, however, at 6:30 I would have expected crowd. Only three party's in entire place. The server did a fine job and was very accommodating.

I have been coming here for a while. I love the atmosphere of this place, the decore almost makes you forget you are at a pizza place. Most of the times is just the right amount of people, so its never crouded. The pizza ingredients are all fresh and delicious. The staff is very attentive and friendly but at times even though they're not super busy it feels like there's only 2 people serving the whole restaurant. My 4 year old daughter and my 9 year old daughter like this place because the staff gives them some pizza dough to keep them busy (just ask); one time one of the waiters went as far as to asking my daughters to see if they wanted their "dough creations" be put in the pizza oven. Definitely one of my favourite pizza places here in the desert.

Food was OK, marinara sauce on cheese ravioli would be far superior than the pomodora sauce. Meatballs taste like soybeans (bought?). Our waiter was not very attentive, had to ask another for bread. Overall seems like a great pizza restaurant but we didn’t order pizza but saw that majority of others did.

M
Michele O'Marah

We were a little hesitant because the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. But the menu looked good so we decided to try it. We (party of 6) we're all glad we did. The food was very good. We all split so pizzas and side dishes and everything we had was very delicious. This place deserves more business than they seem to be getting. It's yummy!

T
The manager

Happy hour prices were good... food was okay and service was terrible... however we will give it another try

K
Karen Franke

The place was not crowded, however service was realllllly slow. The dough balls... i.e. garlic balls they served were just that: dough balls, dry and tasteless. Fettuccine was dry, loaded with butter. Portions are big. But to spend $100 in a pizzeria for two drinks, dinner and salad: WHY overpriced. Wont be going back.

L
Lenny Sullivan

Lovely little place. Not crowded, but staff was stressed nontheless. Servings were LARGE. Floor was sticky. Food was good but not exceptional. My Aunt makes a better Chicken picatta.

T
Talina Tijerina

Terrible. Food was gross. I have an allergy to onions which I made clear to the waiter and he brought me a pizza with onions. Then once I sent it back they brought me a new one that I took home and found onions on again. The waiter was nice but I won't be going back there.

We went at a busy time but after some confusion we were seated fairly quickly. The pizzas were very tasty and the service was good. Altogether we had a satisfying experience

P

Had the chicken cacciatore, over all it wasn't bad. It comes with spaghetti, where it should just be served over pasta (Pene or Rigatoni). Was over salted and no mushrooms !!!! Chicken was tender and flavorful, the red wine sauce was good, but as noted over salted.

A
Al Egge

Pizza was excellent right after Villagio opened. Just picked up a pizza tonight and it was awful!!!! Very little meat on the pizza. Medium for $20. Could have picked up 3 frozen pizzas that would have been better.

I am a retired chef and restaurant owner that specialized in Italian food. In all honesty, I was not impressed that much with the food even though my sister said it was the best Italian restaurant in Palm Desert. If this is the best that they can come up with, I'm glad I live in San Diego where you can find incredibly good Italian restaurants. The pizza crust was served on a metal plate causing it to turn soft after the First Slice. The cannolis we're just okay and the price of the food was a little on the high side for the quality. The server was nice and did check back frequently, but not sure if I would go there again for dinner

G
Gina Rivera

I didn't like their food...spicy spaghetti was way too spicy, pizza was pretty bland, fries with cheese & truffle oil were ok but for the price it was just a small amount with very little cheese, couldn't even see it! I asked for truffle oil on the side & that's what I did get to see...

G
George Brown

Wine and appetizers were good but main courses were bland and overpriced. Sevice was pleasant but scarce. We will never go back and will not recommend.

Services was not that great. When i walked in, I was greeted like most places but as soon as I sat down. It took the whole time until I got my food to get silver wear. It being my first time, I took a little more than five minutes to review the menu.. As I sat, we were offered drinks and cheese balls or garlic balls. Immediately asked us if we're ready, said no and brought us drinks. Within those 1-2mins, already asking me again if I was ready. I said no once more. . Now that I had took some time to decide and order. Waitress was no where to be found. Manager came over and took my order. Quality of food? It was good but not great. Crust wasn't burnt, but maybe that's how they serve "authentic" pizza. Price was not surprisingly high but not cheap. Overall experience, not going back.

Worst Experience Ever!! The manager is rude, unprofessional, and is the sole reason my family and I will never be back. Upon a few mishaps, like our pizza not coming out before our entrees (we ordered them 15 min before we ordered the entrees) and one of our entrees was missing. When trying to TALK to the manager on duty, he became rude and even walked away in the mid sentence, just to mumble walking to the register. He even yelled across the restaurant, while othee patrons were eating. I hope this establishment has cameras to review because having worked in this industry for 10 years, it was the most horrific experience I had ever seen/ been apart of. As a business owner, I would NEVER let that man work for me and teach some professionalism to who I leave in charge.

When we walked in the hostess was unfriendly, sauntered and told us to wait a minute where she proceeded to get the menus from the bartender but stood and talked with him for a while. As we stood, we noticed Ed the cooking counter in front of us was messy and unclean. When the hostess sat us, she put us at a tiny two top. We wanted a booth but noticed that every single booth was dirty. There was barely anybody else in the restaurant. From the view of our table, we could see into a side beverage area that had piles of dirty plates sitting. We didn't even stay for the food. Not impressed!

Tell you what...my husband ordered a Margarita pizza with added chicken, for take-out tonight. When he arrived to pay, he happened to open the box (he never does) and noticed no chicken, which was an extra charge. They plopped some stringy, bland chicken on top but with no apology about their mistake. The red sauce was sparse, thin, tasteless, and clumps of unmelted cheese completed this disappointment of a pizza. I'm astonished that they offer such a mediocre item and charge over $20.00. We've enjoyed meals several times in the past when dining in their restaurant and pleasantly conversed with the owner, but we will never go back because of this stunning experience. Maybe ownership has changed, but bad food will not bring customers.

Terrible! We miss our old Villagio. They had pizza we craved, my Husband is Italian and it was definitely New York Italian pizza. We ordered the same thing, and it was the worst pizza we have ever had! No green salad on the menu any longer, and you pay for your bread if you want it. What was the owner thinking! We were not the only people complaining-------Sorry to loose such a great restaurant because the owner wanted to change what was great to not even good!
