Absolutely outstanding food, service and atmosphere. Strongly recommended outside seating if the weather supports it - plenty of shade or heaters. We normally go for the brunch menu and are never disappointed! Had just about everything on the menu. They can accommodate large groups and have several separate rooms. The bar service and drinks are also exceptional.
We ended up eating Thanksgiving dinner here and it was absolutely amazing. And my mom went together and we both picked totally different menus and we each really liked our own food. I will say that it was quite busy that day and the service was a little bit lacking due to being extremely slow, but it’s a holiday so it didn’t bother us too much. I’m not sure what it’s like on a regular day as far as the service.
Excellent food, the chef had great attention to detail. Seasonal rotations, seafood and steak focused. Good cocktail menu and wine selection. Upscale but not snobby. Decor is a little funky but intimate and service was very fast and professional. Eqsy parking curbside.
Such a lovely atmosphere! Staff were very friendly, service was good and food well priced, a bottle of wine was also decently priced!
Delia and Nathan were an absolutely phenomenal duo! They both made sure we had an amazing night. The food was delicious and my god the Cesar salad was the best we ever had. Thank you for dinner! We will be back!
Great food, good service and super cute patio. The menu looked really good for everyone however, I am vegan so I ordered the pear salad and the cauliflower steak. Both were delicious and the portions were decent. The dressing on the pear salad was absolutely delicious. I would visit again great for a date night.
Excellent service and delicious food. Place was nicely decorated and very clean. You should definitely check this place out if you want a romantic dinner with your significant other.
The restaurant looks like a trendy art museum and our food was delicious! They were very accommodating to my girlfriend’s garlic intolerance. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have non-alcoholic wine on the menu, and to upgrade the mocktail list
This has a beautiful old elegance in the best way. It combines ambience with delicious food. We came in a whim and from a recommendation, there was not a dress code, but the service was great. From the purse stands to wait staff placing your napkin in your lap, it was a great experience. The restaurant is very large with lots of seating inside, along with beautiful outdoor seating areas.
Always go here when in Palm Springs! Staff are always great and never disappointed with the dishes. You don't need a reservation all the time but it is recommended if you want to guarantee a table.
We had a party of 7 for my mother's birthday dinner. The restaurant was gorgeous, the food was incredible and the staff were so nice an attentive!
Extensive menu, delicious gourmet food, huge homemade desserts by in-house pastry chef. Gorgeous decor with multiple rooms and many photos and memorabilia to look at.
My wife and I were visiting Palm Springs on Presidents Weekend. I used ChatGPT to help us find a place for brunch. Eight4Nine was highly recommended so we tried it. What a find!!! This place was the best. A fun and welcoming atmosphere and great food. Every employee we crossed path’s with was friendly and helpful and it looked like they loved their job! The decor is something to see as well. We had such a great experience that after brunch we went shopping for a few hours, then went back for drinks at the bar. Give this place a try!
Just had to share the great experience we had at Eight4Nine Restaurant & Lounge last night. We arrived without reservations expecting to be seated on their outside patio with our little dog. It had rained before we got there and they accommodated us inside. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and they were beyond kind to our little companion. If you find yourself in Palm Springs, looking for a wonderful place to dine, I highly suggest you go Eight4Nine Restaurant & Lounge.
The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and attentive staff. We enjoyed tender grilled octopus, cauliflower steak with walnut-caper sauce, and a hearty ragu with tender meat over al dente pasta; all generously portioned and well-prepared.
A cheerful, classy atmosphere inside and out, loved the color scheme and decor. The heart on the window and the welcoming Pride flag posed an inviting vibe as an online review promoting GF options drew us to this restuarant off the beaten tourist path. The host was so friendly, kudos to him. The waterboy was immediately attentive but the waitress was slow to arrive, barely stopped long enough to take our lunch order, wisking away barely to be seen again. Our brunch dishes of gf Eggs Benedict Florentine & Beet Salad were tasty arriving via the kitchen helper. I can't comment on the cocktails as we weren't asked if we wanted anything other than water and saw our waitress so rarely we feared asking for anything that would delay our afternoon plans further, in fact, we had to see the host to pay our bill, never having the opportunity to order a GF dessert (this is a business-model fail not to up-sell). It was 2-3pm on a Saturday, the restaurant was mostly empty, so the lack of acceptable service is a mystery. On a sidenote, as Lake Tahoe residents & outdoor adventurers, we lack the je ne sais quoi of the Palm Springs scene. Perhaps the poor service was an invitation not to return? Nonetheless, we enjoyed our brunch and ice water with an environmentally thoughtful paper straw on the brightly, well-decorated patio. We also enjoyed people-watching the elegant, smartly-dressed patrons, did I see one of my fav famous interior designers?! All that being said, next time we're in town enjoying snow-free outdoor adventures, we do plan to make a dinner reservation (and maybe even dress for the occasion)... 😉 🏳️🌈
Decorated in white with red seat cushions, the restaurant is spacious with outdoor, indoor or bar seating options. We had a 5pm reservation and were one of the first to arrive for the evenings dining. By 6 PM most of the tables were filled. We had the roasted cauliflower and beef pot pie along with two salads. Both were an interesting twist on traditional dishes. The walnut salsa was a bit too tired and didn’t seem to pair well with the rest of the cauliflower dish. Service was attentive and friendly.
Food was ok, I had the salmon and it was nicely cooked but over sauced and I felt the sauce didn't really help the dish. The restaurant was packed but the servers were attentive. Food came out before our drinks and we felt a bit rushed because of this like they wanted to turn the table. Probably better places around.
The vibe of the restaurant was good and the food was great, but the service left a terrible taste in my mouth. I had made a special request ahead of time for a dessert to celebrate my husband’s actual birthday. We drove all the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for this dinner, and the night should have ended on a high note. Instead, as we were walking out, I reminded the server that he had forgotten. His response? A smirk, followed by, “Would you like it now?” I told him no, that would be silly at that point. He just shrugged, muttered “ok sorry,” and couldn’t even bother to make eye contact. That ruined the entire experience for me. Up until then I was enjoying myself, but that dismissive, careless attitude completely soured the night. We still left a 20% tip, but the truth is, I regret it—I walked out furious. A restaurant can have good food and a nice atmosphere, but when the service is this unprofessional and disrespectful, it overshadows everything else. This is why customers get angry when we are forced to tip high, regardless of the service provided they get compensated either way.
Food was exceptional, service was exceptionally POOR. Our Waiter introduced himself as our waiter and took our order after a long wait following being seated. After that we saw him only once, when he finally came back to ask if we wanted desert. However he didn’t come by until long after we waited with the dinner plates cleared off the table by the Bus Boy. Two other wait staff walked by several times, and shortly before our waiter showed up again one of them finally stopped and asked if we needed drink refills and desert and took our order. When our waiter returned asking if we wanted desert, we told him the other waiter had just taken our order, he quickly said “oh great, he got here before I did”. And he ran off not even noticing our drinks were empty. After finishing desert and also waiting another period of time with empty glasses, two waiters walked past our table again, glanced at us then briskly walked on by. Finally we got up and went to the front hostess counter asking for our bill. The manager came and spoke with us at the request of the hostess. He was rude, con-descending and said “I don’t see the problem if several people came to your table”. A Gross lack of professional service and organization !!! Perhaps a lack of staffing - but ironically the Manager was one of those individuals that passed our table twice, saw our glasses and plates empty yet said not a word. The manager did NOT offer any reduction in the bill and NEVER ONCE said he was SORRY for our experience. However he did stand over us to see if we were leaving a tip. Which, after his rude behavior, and for the first time in my life, I chose NOT leave a tip. I’m VERY disappointed in Eight4Nine as their food is excellent, but the management is horrible - creating a very undesirable dining experience. If there were negative star (-) ratings available the score would be more accurate.
