I had such an amazing experience at Monks! The food was absolutely incredible — every dish was packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and tasted so fresh. You can really tell a lot of care goes into the cooking. The owner is so warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. It honestly feels like you’re being invited into someone’s home!! The perfect spot for a cozy dinner or a special night out. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
First timer here!!! The food was sooo delicious. I will be visiting again. I got the buttered chicken, garlic naan, rice, and veggie spring rolls! All 10s across the board with so much flavor
Dinner was delicious with the friendly and helpful staff. The Drums of Heaven were delicious. We also liked the Corn Chat Pata. Highly recommended.
It was our first time visiting and we weren't disappointed! The service was very friendly and helpful. All the items we tried were delicious, we even ordered seconds to take home! Sabina was awesome!
Came to The Monk's Indian Bistro for the first time for our 17th Anniversary, and oh boy what a wonderful place. We are going back because our appetizer and entrée was plenty! Excellent food, excellent service!
Roshimi was provided excellent service, would definitely come back and ask for her again. The food was stellar and the atmosphere really added to our experience. 10/10 would recommend especially the drinks !
My husband and I visited for the first time tonight and were blown away by the flavors. The butter chicken was smooth, comforting, and beautifully spiced. The samosas were golden and delicious, paired with a vibrant green sauce that delivered a noticeable kick and plenty of flavor. The garlic naan was amazing and perfect for soaking up every bite, and the portion sizes were generous. We truly enjoyed our meal and can’t wait to return to try more dishes.
I went to Monks Indian Bistro with a group of friends and all of us were genuinely amazed by how good the food was. I’m not exaggerating when I say one of my friends teared up because she loved it so much, and another friend literally licked her plate clean 😂 The Magic Maggi Rolls were super crispy and came with this really good sweet chili sauce. The samosas were amazing and the cilantro sauce they came with was unreal. The butter chicken was silky, rich, and full of flavor without being too heavy. My favorite thing by far was the masala fried rice — I haven’t stopped thinking about it. On top of that, the service was so good. Our server was incredibly sweet and even brought us free gulab jamun, which was honestly the best I’ve ever had — warm, soft, and perfectly sweet. Such a nice surprise and it really made the experience even better. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made, and you can tell a lot of care goes into both the food and the service here. Easily the best Indian food I’ve ever had. We’re already planning to go back.
I have been in Pearland 16 years and have finally found a fantastic Indian food restaurant. I love spice but cant do heat. I asked and he said, 'of course!' I had the Chicken tikka masala and my wife had the vindaloo chicken. The naan was authentic, not just flat bread. The service was exemplary and the meal for the two of us was under 50 including generous tip. Will return again and again. BRILLIANT!
I had a mixed experience during my first visit as the food did not fully meet my expectations. What impressed me most, however, was the way the owner, Mr. Murali, personally stepped in with genuine care and professionalism. He immediately acknowledged the issue, took responsibility, and went above and beyond by offering a complimentary order. On my return, the food was absolutely delicious, served fresh and flavorful, with excellent attention to detail. The service was outstanding, and it’s clear that customer satisfaction is their top priority. It’s rare these days to find a place where the owner himself gets involved to ensure every guest leaves happy. This hotel not only delivers great food but also exceptional hospitality that makes you feel truly valued. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience!
We ordered the shrimp dynamite (mild). It was so good. Lightly fried in a batter and idk what kind of sauce it was tossed in but I could drink it. I tasted garlic, tomato, parsley. It’s one of their best sellers. I ordered the chicken butter masala with rice and garlic naan. The garlic naan is some f the best naan I’ve eaten. I liked the rice, it was mixed with ghee and parsley and little seeds (looks like fennel but I don’t think it’s fennel). They served the chicken breast in the standard chicken butter sauce. We also ordered the goat in a spicier brown sauce. I also thought this was good. I have no idea what’s in it but it was really flavorful.
Came here a few weeks ago for brunch with family. We loved everything! The ambiance, service and food were amazing! The server checked in on us frequently and she suggested amazing dishes. The food wasn’t like your typical oily desi food. I did not feel bloated after eating it and the food wasn’t “heavy”. Portion sizes are also a good amount!
Delicious Indo Chinese food. Takes me back to street food in India. Had the green chili paneer and it was packed with flavor and just the right amount of spices. Chicken momos were good and mild..the maggi rolls were eating maggi rolled in a crunchy egg roll which I liked as well. had the Hakka noodles and we ordered spicy. Big mistake very very spicy for us we were crying for every bite but couldn’t help but finish it later on because it tasted so good. Definitely will return but will order a mild version of entrees!
We indulged in a vibrant spread, beginning with the Butter Chicken Masala, which was luxuriously rich and perfectly balanced with a touch of sweetness and spice. Paired with Ghee Jeera Rice, the combination was nothing short of exquisite. The Spicy Masala Noodles offered a delightful fusion of bold heat and savory depth, while the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani stood out for its fragrant basmati, tender chicken, and expertly layered spices. A personal favorite of the evening was the Tandoori Chicken Momos—succulent, smoky, and impeccably seasoned. One of the guys at the front suggested the gulab-jamun dessert with vanilla ice cream and I absolutely recommend. The restaurant itself is immaculately maintained, with an inviting ambiance that enhances the overall experience—an easy A+ for atmosphere. The staff were warm, attentive, and offered insightful recommendations that clearly reflected a deep knowledge of the menu. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to fellow lovers of fine cuisine. We will most certainly be returning.
We went to dine in on my wife’s birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The service was very prompt, from waiting to be seated to final exit. The dishes we ordered were amazing and very delicious. Each item was prepared with care and presented nicely. The cutlery were so nice that my wife loved those and we ended up ordering them from Amazon. Overall a nice family dinner well spent at Monks in Pearland. Highly recommended. We will be back to try out other dishes on the menu.
My husband and I came here for lunch and we were blown away. This spot is a fusion food gem tucked into our neighborhood. We enjoyed every single item that we had. The Chieko and mango lassi were the perfect accompaniment for the subtle spice levels in the dishes we had. Highly recommend coming here when you’re craving Desi-Asian fusion food. We had the mango and Chieko lassis, dragon shrimp, street style noodles (gluten free), burnt garlic rice with chicken, tandoori chicken and chetinadi goat. Service was super attentive as well. Loved everything and we’ll be back again and again.
We’ve been driving by this place for a while, and I’m so glad we finally stopped in! I ordered some takeout—walk-fried noodles, butter masala, and chicken biryani—and everything was absolutely delicious. The service staff was incredibly kind and eager to help me navigate the menu since I’m not very familiar with Indian cuisine. I’ve only had it a couple of times before, and usually, someone else ordered for me, but they made me feel totally comfortable exploring the options. The atmosphere of the restaurant is stunning—beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. While I waited for my food, I noticed they even had a selection of beers from India, which was a nice touch. Overall, this was such a fantastic experience, and I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes! Would you like me to tweak it further?
After visiting for the first time a few months ago, I have been back almost weekly! I love the food here! I have tried almost everything on the menu and have yet to try something I don't like. My personal favorites are the Green chili Gobi, the burnt garlic rice and the Chili Garlic paneer! The flavors are so robust and authentic! I promise, visit and you will love it too
I am impressed with the service and the food quality. Every dish that we ordered was delicious!

The chicken tikka masala is always great here. We tried a different second entree than our usual, the chili pepper entree, but it wasn’t my favorite. The samosas are also always delicious, as well as the pakoda (literally my fav go to app), and the service was actually great for as busy as they were on a Friday night-major props. Rated 4 stars for atmosphere because the host had his phone on speaker mode the whole time we were dining, which wasn’t pleasant. Plus, I’d love to see the lighting a little dimmer for dinner time. Other than that, this is one of the better Indian restaurants in the Greater Houston Area! (Management: I strongly recommend getting a second host on Friday/Saturday evenings because it is really busy and takes time to even get your order submitted.
Amazing food and well, very much in budget! Ordered the green chilli cauliflower appetizer with some veg spring rolls & burnt garlic fried rice! Everything so perfect and delish! Review edit - Visited again recently only because was in awe of this place but to my disappointment, wasn't as satisfied as before. This time I ordered 2 different things from my previous order, gobi manchurian and veg hakka noodles. Gobi manchurian was decent but I wasn't very happy with the hakka noodles. Was made really spicy using way toooo much black pepper. The service was also very late (it was a Monday evening)- took 35 mins and thus I didn't ask for a different order because I didn't have to patience for them to remake it. Taking a star down from my review.
We visited Monk Bistro on a Friday evening and tried Chicken Chettinad, Manchow Soup, Steamed and Tandoori Momos, Chicken Lollipop, Butter Garlic Naan, Gully Gobi, Rasmalai, and Gulab Jamun. The standout dishes were the Gully Gobi and Chicken Lollipop — both were flavorful and well-prepared. The restaurant wasn’t crowded initially around 7:30 PM, but it got very busy later, and the service became quite slow with long waits for food. The momos were average, and the desserts, served in store-style plastic containers, seemed a bit old and unimpressive. Overall, a mixed experience with a few good dishes but slow service and underwhelming desserts.
Food and service is really good! Highly recommend the samosas, dynamite shrimp, chicken biryani, burnt garlic fried rice, and of course the tikka masala You really can't miss here highly recommend

Had a dinner meet up at The Monk's Indian Bistro, and overall, the experience was just okay. The service was polite, but the food didn't blow me away. I'm no stranger to Indian cuisine, it's very similar to the West Indian foods I grew up on, and I've also explored Indian dishes during my travels to Dubai so I came in with a pretty open palate. I ordered the Tandoor Murgh which I didn't realize was an appetizer. It was flavorful but a little on the dry side. The biggest issue was timing for me. The dishes came out at different times, with odd pairings, and we waited a long time for the main courses which took away from the flow of the evening. By the time the main dishes came I was already full and ready to go. Food Highlights: Mango Lassi, Cilantro Lemon Soup. The lighting in the restaurant also felt a bit too dim. The space could really benefit from brighter lighting to freshen up the ambiance. I wanted to enjoy it more, but there wasn't anything particularly memorable about the food.
I was recommend this place by a friend so we came to check it out. This place was packed which probably attributed to the long wait time and service! Food took a LONG time to be served and it was warm. Flavor was delicious but portions small. My wife ordered a Butter Chicken but the ratio of chicken to sauce was off. Overall...it was AIGH. Not the best, not the worst. Would consider returning once there is a smaller crowd.
The Paneer momos were good, but the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani was disappointing. The bowl was extremely hot (felt like it came straight from the microwave), yet the food itself wasn’t hot enough. The spices didn’t taste right and it needed more salt and chili powder with fresh biryani rice. Overall, I’d rate it 2.5/5.
Okay I have to say that this place has one of the best butter chicken I have ever tasted. It's SO tasty! & It was a large portion size too. I highly recommend it. The restaurant is very chic & service was very prompt. Everything ordered came out hot & they were all delicious. UPDATE: So the last time it was dined in, I did take out & the take out experience was not good at all so I had to retract some stars. The quality & service of take out was not good at all, everything was loppy & the containers were all over the place. Luckily all of the containers were sealed right or food would've been everywhere in the bag. I also was missing an item & had to contact Doordash for a refund. I think the take out experience is as important as dining in & it should be respected. Even if it's Doordash, Uber Eats or whatever, the person picking up is not always the deliverer but the actual customer themselves. And if the food is not delicately taken care of or the order is missing it gives a very bitter taste in the mouth.

All the water containers they gave me had mold! Server had attitude issues or didn't want to be there. Food was ehhhh but overpriced for what it was. Will probably never go again.
