We came in on a Friday evening for a 6 o’clock tasting and a 730 reservation. Jewellianna Was in charge of our tasting and she was amazing! So fun, and incredibly knowledgeable. She also got us finished up just in time for a dinner reservation. Catie Beth was our server for dinner, and she was a riot! We had a group of six girls for a girls weekend, and she fit right in with us and we had such a good time with her. Amazing personalities and just a fun night! Thank you both for making our night memorable. I guess I should also mention the wine! The wine is phenomenal. Most of our group bought a few bottles before we left. And dinner was top-notch! The food was so good. We did come in the evening when it was already dark outside. I’ve heard that the views are spectacular, so we will definitely be coming back for a day trip! 10 out of 10 recommend!
The food was incredible and the wine selection is amazing. The ambiance has several features that make it perfect for a romantic dinner but also for casual gatherings with friends or family. It also has areas for wedding celebrations or other events and a breathtaking view of its own lake. It’s definitely a beautiful place.
The wine tasting was excellent. We loved the wines! Jewelliana did a great job. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and we had great conversation. Dinner was delicious as well as well. The ambience is charming elegant and very well thought out. The grounds are beautiful. I would highly recommend this place!
We had a great experience today checking out the winery to have lunch. The views were spectacular! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The food was wonderful! We will definitely be returning with our friends in the future.
Absolutely beautiful. We stopped on a Thursday afternoon and it wasn’t busy. We enjoyed a sweet white wine and a bottle of Sangria. We also had a wonderful Tuna Appetizer plate. (Can’t remember the name) and it was amazing! We sat outside and could see Pilot Mountain in the distance. I highly recommend you visit. Everyone was very friendly.
JOLO Winery was a perfect place to have my 30th birthday dinner for myself. Every employee I spoke with was incredibly nice and made me feel at home. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and I had such a great time. I would highly recommend everyone experience the Seasonal Wine Tasting and Dinner, I had the Chilled Goat Cheese Provincial, Amulfi Coast Pesto Haddock, and Limoncello Cake.
We stopped at JOLO Winery to break up a day of traveling—and we’re so glad we did! We made a lunch reservation for 11:15 AM and were immediately blown away as we pulled up to the property. The drive in is stunning: grapevines lined with blooming roses, a tranquil pond with a beautiful water feature, and Pilot Mountain rising in the distance like a postcard backdrop. We were seated outside and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting—breathtaking views, amazing weather, and top-notch service. Our server was not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable—she even convinced us to join the wine club, and we’re already looking forward to returning for future lunch buffet pick-up parties! The food was excellent, and the wine was even better. We left with full hearts, full bellies, and a few bottles to enjoy later. JOLO is now a must-stop for us anytime we’re in the area. 🍷🌿
We did a fall wine tasting, their Chardonnay is nice, the Pink was nice. Their Reds are spectacular. Lunch was very good. Our waitress was very accommodating and helpful.
We loved our first visit to Jolo! We started out with a seasonal wine tasting (35.00/pp) which included 7 amazing wines picked for us. There was not a bad wine in the bunch! They all were extraordinary- our group favored the Rosé and bought a bottle to share with dinner. Jerry Ann was the perfect host of our tasting- full of knowledge of the wines and so personable. We had reservations for dinner at End Posts after our tasting so we chose to sit outside in the covered, heated patio dining- which was just as elegant as inside! The food was delicious and they have the wine paired well with the dishes as a recommendation on which to pick with your meal. The grounds are beautiful and overall it was a great time had and 10/10 would go back!
My husband John and I spent Valentine’s Day 2025 at JoLo Winery (wine tasting! ($35 pp)), and followed it with an incredible dinner experience at the restaurant. It was beyond De-Lish! *Nicole* was our A-MAZING Server! We’ll be sure to request her next time. We even joined the JoLo Wine Club, and benefited from the offered discounts, excitedly leaving with three bottle of scrumptious wines from our wine tasting adventure! If you can, come early! Enjoy sitting in their comfortable outdoor space, while simply gazing in wonderment at the stunning, lucious, wine-designed landscape, with a delectable glass (or 2) of fine wine! I can’t think of a better way to spend th day.
This Winery and restaurant would be absolutely worth going to even if it was only Winery or only restaurant - but they have both. Reservations are strongly encouraged: we saw cars parked alongside the road even before we saw the Winery. Later we learned that we came during the "wine pick up" event. This place was full with no seats open, yet the service was very prompt and not at all rushed. 1. Wine tasting. We tried 7 wines from the fall menu and every single one of them was delicious and worth buying whole bottle of. Levi was very knowledgeable and super entertaining conducting the tasting. 2. Lunch. To say that the food was incredible is an understatement. So I'll say this - they managed to make typically boring meatloaf into something to crave and dream about having again! Salmon was also very flavorful and paired well and green beans and mash. Everything was 11/10, so we joined the wine club to make sure we don't miss on any of the events happening there.
First time here and it was such a fun and beautiful place to visit! The views are beautiful, you get a view of pilot mountain also! There is plenty of places to sit outside and a couple spots indoor. We tried the restaurant as well and the Caesar salad was amazing!!! Definitely get that. I got the steak tips as my entree and wasn’t a big fan of it, probably should’ve gotten something else. My husband’s meal was good though! We also tried the crème brûlée and the blueberry cobbler. My favorite wine was the Cabernet! The place was clean and cozy and wonderful service! Can’t wait to come back and get the Caesar salad again!
I just wanted to say how much my companions and I enjoyed our recent visit to Jolo Winery. We want to give a special shout-out to the person who handled our text message inquiries. Thanks to their quick and efficient responses, we were able to easily make reservations for the wine tasting and restaurant. Everything was arranged so smoothly, thanks to their attentive and professional service. The backdrop of the fall foliage on the third weekend in October, added to the enchanting atmosphere of the winery and restaurant, making our experience even more memorable. We sat outside for lunch at the restaurant. The food was amazing. We feel incredibly lucky to have visited such a gorgeous place. The outstanding customer service, breathtaking scenery, and the expertise of your wine tasting consultant truly made our visit exceptional. Jolo Winery surpassed our expectations, and we will be back. I definitely recommend it to our friends and family. We did get a special greeting from the owner. He walked around and greeted everyone.
I don't even know where to begin with this vineyard. Driving up to the property is so beautiful and gives an automatic aura of relaxation. Once inside your automatically greeted and made to feel right at home. My husband and I decided to do the reserve wine tasting, which included 6 different red wines to taste and finishes with their sweet vermouth (which would be perfect by itself but stunning in a Manhattan). My husband and I were then escorted outside to enjoy our lunch on the patio overlooking the lake and pilot Mountain. The wine caught me off guard with how smooth and luxurious they all tasted, I felt like I was back in wine country in California! My husband and I were most shocked by the food, this is definitely a five star dining experience while remaining reasonably priced. The lamb was some of the best lamb I've had in years, I didn't want the meal to end. If you have a love for nature, wine, food, or all three than you have found your spot. My husband and I quickly joined their wine club and are excited to make this one of regular spots when in the NC area.
The wine, food and service was excellent. Beautiful sunny ☀️🎄day on 12/27/25 Thank you
Update. I stopped here with a wine tour. 6/21/25 (I'm the driver for a wine tour company) I decided to have lunch there. Nicole was my server. She was very friendly, welcoming and helpful! I ordered the chicken pesto flatbread minus the tomatoes. It was delicious! Previous post. Jolo is a beautiful vineyard. They have a nice view of Pilot Mountain. Plenty of seating inside and out. You will need to make reservations! I've never had a bad meal here. Parking can be tricky. The top parking lot is for members. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I'm not really a fan of their wines and that's ok!
Jewellianna was an amazing host.i didn’t feel rushed and her explanation of each wine was fantastic. This was one of the best wines tastings that I’ve experienced.
As soon as I pulled into the driveway, I knew I’d like this place. It was stunning. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. My friend and I did the wine tasting followed by dinner outside on the patio. I enjoyed all the wines we tasted. Dinner was perfection. We started with the meatball appetizer. Some of the best meatballs I’ve ever had. I ordered the filet for my entree and it was cooked to perfect medium temperature. Lemon cake for desert. 100% recommend!!!!! You won’t be disappointed.
JOLO Winery in Pilot Mountain, NC, is a whole vibe! 🍷 The views of Pilot Mountain are just incredible, rolling hills of vines and dreamy skies. Their wines are super good – the JOLOTAGE Reserve is excellent, rich flavors and smooth. And you gotta try their Carolus. It's so light and refreshing and perfect for a sunny day or romantic night. If you want something lighter, go Pink! The End Posts restaurant on-site is also amazing! We did this tasting menu with wine pairings, and every single bite was delicious (pork chop and crab dip are top tier). The people who work there are also really cool; they know tons about the wines and food and just make you feel right at home. It's an awesome spot for a date or just hanging out with your friends. Definitely go check it out!
Best wine I've tasted from/in NC to date. Wonderful experience (tasting and then dinner) all around and we'll be back soon! Thank you to Levi for world class service and going the extra mile for us!!
We originally reserved for an indoor table but the hostess was nice enough to move us outdoor no problem! The outdoor sitting area is beautiful!!! Front row to pilot mountain. We were celebrating a birthday and our waitress was nice enough to bring out a glass of rose for the birthday girl! We got appetizers (tai chili shrimp) highly recommend! And a bottle of the Prosecco. Be ready to enjoy a very relaxing afternoon siping wine and taking in the view. The salmon risotto and the steak were very tasty! Overall a very nice evening!
Beautiful property with a very good restaurant. After spending half a day at Hanging rock, Jolo was the right place to be. Relaxing view, excellent food and service and good selection of wine. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the view of pilot mountain from the vineyard is amazing.
I stopped in tonight around 5 pm. for dinner. Reservations are a must. The winery is located right off Hwy 268 in Pilot Mtn. When you turn into the winery, there is a long paved road that leads you by part of their vineyard. Parking for members is at the top. Non-members are directed to go right and park at the bottom of the hill. Being a member has its perks! Depending on whether you are there for just the wine or for the wine and food will determine where they seat you. I was seated immediately upon arrival in the dining room. I ordered the GF - Crab dip for an appetizer. For the main course, I ordered the 6oz Filet. All of the food was delicious. Perfectly cooked. The waitress was spot on. She kept my glass full. I never once had to ask for anything. She was 2 steps ahead. Very elegant restaurant overall. I will have to come back during the summer months to enjoy the views from the outside seating.
Gorgeous views, excellent food, fantastic wine and amazing service!!! The owner himself was walking around making sure everyone was having a great experience which was really cool. The only thing I would change is a bit bigger portions (especially for the rack of lamb and mashed potatoes/sides) and a non alcoholic grape juice option as well for kids. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to be back again soon!!!
There is nothing like a day with friends at JOLO along with a Celebration 🍷🎉🍷 We arrived Friday evening and were greeted by a staff that we have fallen in love with over many years. We had a glass of wine and picked up the key to Jolo’s Chateau as is our tradition for our back to back birthdays in June and our anniversary in January. As always stepping into the Chateau is as if you arrived in Paris and it is right next to the restaurant which provides you magnificent views, menu items and that truly exceptional staff. This morning we woke up, took advantage of the time to continue to relax in comfort and then met friends for our June wine club pickup lunch. A great meal, fabulous wines, time with friends, a bit of wine knowledge and time with the JOLO staff is always a time for fun and rejuvenation🍷
Wife and I decided to join their membership program, and it has been totally worth it. In addition to excellent discounts on their amazing wine, we also get great experiences with them. We've been for a 4-course lunch with wonderful wine pairings. It was amazing. We've also been for a simpler meal at the restaurant, always accompanied by their wine. It helps that their wine is also spectacular, especially their reds. We enjoy going back multiple times per quarter!
Wonderful red wine tasting with Samira’s help & our meal (appetizer crab dip & scallops with onion relish & risotto) at JoLo was delicious… I read about the restaurant in Winston To-Go, so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! It’s straight up Hwy-52, an easy drive. Beautiful dining room & grounds, can’t wait to return in the Spring.
As a former wine country resident in Northern California, I was anxious to visit Jolo and had an absolutely delicious dinner there last night. The wine offering is very good, the food was wonderful (killer desserts), the service was outstanding and the place is absolutely beautiful. Looking forward to going back for a more extensive wine tasting soon.
Lovely vineyard, beautiful views and delicious food!! Loved the wine and the knowledge of the staff on the grapes, history and all things of their wine.
Best winery we've visited in North Carolina by far. The owner was present and engaging customers in the tasting room. Staff was very knowledgeable and showed sincere interest in telling their story and answering any questions. Facilities are first class with an outstanding restaurant overlooking a pond and parts of the vineyard. On top of this, the wines were excellent, both whites and reds. Highly recommend booking a tasting and a lunch. Dining is outdoors, so in the heat of the summer an early lunch is probably best. For our visit in late May the weather was perfect, warm, but with a nice breeze.
Amazing experience at the winery wine tasting and enjoying dinner at End Posts with my husband. All the wines are delicious and the food is unique and flavorful. The restaurant is warm and intimate, the perfect place to celebrate special occasions. Service was impeccable and all staff members were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and professional. We will definitely be back!
Wow. Our first time with some members as their guests at a pick-up luncheon. 5 stars all the way! Great food, excellent wine and great facility. Beautifully and tastefully done. I will be back...
A beautiful, local boutique winery competing on an international level. We did the tasting to start with, and we decided to try their restaurant. Everything was fantastic, and their team members were professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their work. Thank you all!
JW, Kristen & staff really know how to make their Wine Club members feel appreciated!! From the moment we arrived at the Premier/Vintners Reserve Annual “Picnic in the Pavilion”, we were treated to JoLo’s “best of the best”, with a complimentary bottle of their flagship wine, Pilot Fog, and an inscribed set of oversized Riedel crystal stems to enjoy as a keepsake. Our luncheon was delicious, and we are always amazed at the fantastic quality of the food, particularly considering the number of guests being served simultaneously (150ish). We were encouraged to linger and enjoy the beautiful views on the property while getting to know our fellow Wine Club members. We can’t wait to return on November 16 for the Jolotage Vertical Wine Tasting with 5 courses of perfectly paired dishes to accompany the various vintages. Looking forward to cooler weather ahead so we can experience the newly added stone fireplace and outdoor lounge area dedicated to the Premier/Vintner members! Thanks again to our hosts for your amazing hospitality and generosity!! 🥂the Yoakums
Jewwlliana gave us the best tasting experience on 10/12/25 from tastings info to pairings and she has the greatest personality. 5 stars
Amazing atmosphere, good wine and good food. I wouldn’t say that the food impressed me, but the view and atmosphere - yes. It’s like one went on the country side to visit grandparents, while enjoying a good wine. Staff very attentive and friendly, continuously taking care for us to have water on the table, and accommodating all our requests, as the group was expanding. For me, best place so far, when visiting Winston Salem.
🍷 JoLo Vineyards – Pilot Mountain, NC 🍷 Danielle and I just wrapped up a wonderful wine tasting here at JoLo Vineyards, nestled under the breathtaking Pilot Mountain. Now, we’re sitting down to lunch at this amazing winery — and what a treat it is! ✨ Danielle is enjoying a glass of Golden Hallows Reserve, while I’m savoring the Cuvée Selection. 🥗 For lunch, she chose the chilled smoked salmon platter, and I couldn’t resist the filet special. What makes JoLo even more special is its story. Founded by JW and Kristen Ray, the vineyard’s name “JoLo” comes from blending their two sons’ names — a true family legacy in every bottle. Their passion and dedication have transformed this vineyard into one of North Carolina’s premier wine destinations, all while honoring the mountain that stands watch over it. 📸 Pictured with me is none other than JW himself — the owner and curator of this incredible winery. His vision and care are the reason JoLo is such a gem. Coleman & Nicole Manzano we the absolute best!!! We loved the service, the love and passion they have for this winery!! Bravo!!! If you haven’t made the trip out here yet, add it to your list. It’s not just wine — it’s an experience. 🍇✨ #JoLoVineyards #PilotMountain #NorthCarolinaWine #WineTasting #Blessed #ChambersAdventures
I celebrated my 42nd birthday at JOLO yesterday, and it was absolutely amazing! My party was well accommodated, and the service was excellent. Levi handled our reservation perfectly, ensuring everything was set for our group. Caitlin and her team did a phenomenal job making sure all my guests were taken care of. I truly appreciate everyone for making my day extra special. May God continue to bless this beautiful place and the owners for creating such a wonderful space for others to enjoy!
My husband and I ate here for lunch on our wedding day. The staff was so kind and made us feel special and celebrated. We were in our wedding outfits and weren’t made to feel out of place at all! They invited us to enjoy the property after the meal. It was a lovely experience and I highly recommend. Thanks to the staff who helped us celebrate!
What a magnificent experience we had this afternoon at Jolo! Jewellianna Walked us through the wine tasting and what a treat it was! She was so knowledgeable and informative her description of the wines had our mouths watering before our first sip. All seven wines were so good, we can’t wait to come back!
Honestly the best experience I could have asked for on Valentines day. The staff was very nice and accommodating, even brought out free drinks due to our table being delayed. The steak was great and the chicken marsala was unbelievably juicy. I appreciate the attention to detail in the restaurant and menu. 10/10
We celebrated a birthday at End Posts Restaurant at JOLO Winery, and it couldn’t have been a more festive evening. The setting is truly something special — tucked away in Pilot Mountain just north of Winston-Salem, with sweeping views of the valley and Pilot Mountain in the distance. We dined on the covered patio, surrounded by vines and sunset light, and it felt like a little escape. The wines — all grown and made on-site — were excellent. The Crimson Creek Chambourcin was the table favorite, and the winery even offers a non-alcoholic sparkling wine that impressed our pregnant guest (a thoughtful touch you don’t often find). And the Lemoncello cake - wow! For dinner, everything hit the mark: the grouper, ravioli, steak Diane, meatloaf, and risotto were all standouts. Our server, Catie Beth, was especially wonderful — attentive, friendly, and clearly cared about making it a great night for our group. All in all, a gem of a spot — perfect for a special occasion, a weekend getaway, or anyone who appreciates great food, wine, and views. Highly recommend for a unique and memorable experience.
Jolo was a great experienced love the tastings etc. Very homey and welcoming. Food was light on the veggies. NY Strip is complimentary to the Anniversary wine. So good. Jolo- twinkles, tart but much better than champagne Golden Hallows Reserve - tart Jolotage Reserve - good bouquet but tart Carolus XII - patty likes this. Joel thinks it’s still to tart. But 2% petit verdot. Cuvee - still pretty complex, tart a little bit. I like it. Patty doesn’t. Would go well. Needs to be paired with something. 18% Petit Verdot Pilot Fog - almost like a bourbon. Still pretty tart. Smooth and deep. Full. Tenth Anniversary- Full bodied. Definitely the best one here. “Sippable” Cabernet Sauvignon- still tart, but very good. Candles were superb!
We adore this place! The wine is great and atmosphere is beautiful… service is always kind and helpful! We come often enough, in pilot mt there isn’t anything higher quality then this place. You can walk around the winery, eat inside or outside! There is a bar and outdoor bar too with fireplace for cool nights. That have events and tastings too! Parking is close and they have reserved as well… (This is hopefully taken as some helpful criticism) Our complaint is that… this time I was here again for my birthday, and they were out of my go to beach bubbles for appetizer… but they were offering it in the mocktails instead cause it was an old vintage we were told- witch is understandable… but then they said well we have some but it’s only for the membership people rn… so they really do care about you being apart of the membership… I think… as well as I feel your seating isn’t the best either…and Im sure there are many perks for being a member, like reserved parking.. or for instance discounts…things like that, but for the average person who wouldn’t benefit from the membership (we get sooo much wine and beer from our jobs to try…so no need for a membership) but instead we spend on bottles when we’re there for the experience… I feel like it would be nice if they have all areas for non members to enjoy too —- like example maybe on Friday and Saturday those areas are specifically for members only, and during the weekday…when it’s not busy that would be an area for guest to be able to sit and enjoy a different table spot for once …I’m kind of tired of sitting in the middle sandwich between other guests, of their outdoor dining spot every time… this is the 5x is the same spot —-especially with the sun shining in our eyes…. *sigh - a different time we sat inside next to the fireplace and it was sweltering. Even the other customers asked if we could open the side door. It was that hot in there! Maybe next time I’ll enjoy the bar area with an appetizer :/ The food is better than good, but it’s not better than Print works bistro or Ruth’s Chris steak… for instance I got the steak and au gratin and it really wasn’t that special they’re au gratin was not good at all. I did not finish it, sadly … and I added 2 scallops and that was by far better than my steak! However I usually get their scallops because I know there are on point… and their risotto is very tasty. or their beef Bourgnon with the pilot Fog!! their appetizer crab dip is very good too! That’s what I suggest… they used to have truffle fries that were pretty good, but they don’t anymore and there was another appetizer. We used to get this other app that was amazing- cheese & prosciutto on bread but they don’t have that either. Overall, it’s a wonderful place with a quality dining experience and view…we will be back im sure! Maybe I can mend my review a bit lol
Update: We decided to make a second visit this year after our first visit a couple of years ago was lackluster, and what a difference in the experience. We were very well treated, the wine was great, and the food was awesome. The wine was so good that we joined the wine club. JOLO has become a well-deserved hot spot for wine and food, so be sure to make a reservation before you go. Experienced a very pleasant Sunday lunch at Jolo Winery. Many of our friends had suggested we try this NC winery for the last few years. We finally had the opportunity to find some good things and found some things we that will prevent us from coming back. The good; menu, food, and inside restaurant decor were very good. The menu was solid, and the food came out quickly and was very good. The staff was okay, very young though, and willing to help as they were able. The not so pleasant/good wine, outdoor seating view, and parking. Being a known and appreciated winery, this should have been the highlight. It really wasn't. The Rose' wine was good and much appreciated; however, the white and reds wines were disappointing. Not very dynamic and lacked any varietal depth and notes on the palette. The view outside made you feel like you were in the scrub brush of NC and not on a vineyard. A small percentage of the field-of-view could actually see vines and they were 200+ yards away. Parking also seemed to be small and unorganized. My lasting feeling was that this winery is a better restaurant than it was a winery. NC wineries really must work extra hard to break through the stigma that NC can't make quality wine. It can be done, we've seen and experienced it. Just not at Jolo yet
The food here is top class. I felt like it's more of a restaurant than a vineyard... Don't get me wrong, there's some good wines... But if I go back there, it'll be for the food not the wine... We went around 3:30 pm and sat in one of the cabanas facing the lake. A cabana fan would have made the experience just perfect :). Also would have liked to have a flight offering to taste more of the wines. They had a smoking area and lots of beautiful outdoor seating in general.
Stopped by here after a hike at Pilot Mtn - beautiful vineyard and the wines were delicious. Staff were helpful and friendly, but took about an hour and a half to do the 7 wine tasting - my only complaint. I’m not normally a red wine drinker but I adored their reds. We will definitely be returning when we are in the area again!
Great atmosphere and waitstaff. Delicious wines. However food was a 3/10. I ordered haddock and it was old tasteless and served with sloppy mash and undercooked vegetables. My husband had the grouper and said it was underwhelming. Overpriced food. You guys need to hire a better chef. Won’t return
Absolutely beautiful tasting room and restaurant, however these wines are not for me. I like big bold structured reds with robust tannins and none of these were that. The wines had reasonable complexity yet there was a subtle background taste that I was not crazy about in all the wines. Even more important to me was that all the wines had very soft almost absent tannins. These wines have won many awards so if they are to your taste this is a great spot. They were simply not to my tastes.
I visited JOLO about a month ago with great recommendation from a couple of friends. Wine and food were delicious. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with the service provided. We visited on Sunday evening for dinner reservations at 4:00pm, we wanted to do a wine tasting but no online reservations were available. I was told that I could ask once we got there if a tasting could be added after dinner and was told that wasn’t possible as the bar “was closing soon” and was only for those who had a reservation for a tasting. The only way to continue requesting drinks was to ask the waitress whom only stopped by our table to take initial orders , bring out food, and take payment. No additional bar to walk up and order a drink like other wineries or vineyards have. We also asked if after dining where there specific areas that we could sit to finish our drinks as some areas are only a single for club members , we were told anywhere on venue. However, staff members were turning lights off , gathering center pieces, cleaning and prepping for closing at 6:00pm when posted hours says 8:00pm, we found staff to be dismissive and rude. After talking to another friend that recently visited , they had a terrible experience as well. Will not be returning.
