Fabulous Anniversay 🥂 dinner at the The Downtown Grille of WSNC. Spectacular service and well executed menu, served as follows: •Masonboro NC oysters, delicious, did not need mignonette in my opinion! Great natural salinity. •Split a Caesar salad, topped with anchovy and Parmesan crisps (no photo sorry). •The Octopus…. Tender, juicy, this was made with respect and dedication, set was amazing, generous portion of octopus, I would say about 4oz. • The Tuna, silky, bursting with flavor and spicy! • The Shrimp, it was giving old world Italian, lots of flavor completed with fresh basil and tear drop peppers, shrimp was cooked perfectly, not over done. • The crab dip, huge pieces of lump crab with soft baguette. •Bread service: featuring bread by Bobby Boy Bakeshop complimented with a sorghum/pumpkin spice/orange zest butter. •Ribeye, steak butter, mash w/ bordelaise, & Mac and cheese(Mac needs improvement). •Capped the evening with delicious espresso martinis(w/cream). Andrew is an excellent bartender and server. I am just so pleased with this gem that was much needed in DTWS, with a great collection of some of the best servers of Winston-Salem and also Miss T the hostess is so lovely and sweet, thank you for a wonderful 3 year anniversary Downtown Grille! My new favorite restaurant, we will be back very soon. Hats off to the chef/cooks and 🥂 cheers!

WOW. This is the best place to eat in Winston-Salem, probably the best in North Carolina if im being honest! The portions are generous, the food is cooked fabulously, and the staff are so friendly. Not to mention the best lemon drop martini I have ever had. Is it spendy? Yes. Is it worth it? HELL YES. If only I could come every night. Didn't wait long for anything. Definitely order the Korean chicken appetizer and the chocolate molten lava cake dessert! Will definitely be back again and again!

Had dinner. Made reservations, but I don't think that was necessary. It got busy later. It's a little hard to find, as it's on the 1st floor of an office building. We were greeted by the host, and they had a coat check, which was nice. Service was prompt and extremely nice (shootout to Raafat). The wife got a ribeye and brussle sprouts for a side. I got the Picanha with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. The ribeye was 16 oz and cooked perfectly. The picanha was absolutely amazing. Cooked perfectly, and the sauce drizzles were phenomenal. It had a Chipotle and salsa Verde sauce. The Chipotle was good and smokey, and the Verde was mild with a nice little bite. The garlic mashed potatoes were smooth with a great brown gravy. Brussle sprouts were good. They had a sauce that made them better. We had a chocolate torte with strawberry ice cream and a raspberry sauce. Absolutely amazing. Light torte with cocoa nibs. 100% recommend the Downtown Grille.

Perfection. Top to bottom - this is what you've been looking for. Service was incredible. At the end of eating our entrées, we were in love with this place. Then, we ordered the Jalisco for dessert, and OMG it was the greatest dessert in Winston-Salem. I want to thank God for answered prayer. This is the kind of dessert you drive across 3 states for. After just one bite, my girlfriend forgot we had just gotten engaged she was so focused on the flavors. It was a special night.

Delicious from start to finish! We visited on New Year’s Eve and I couldn’t have imagined a finer meal to bring in the new year. The crab dip was some of the best I’ve had. Our ceaser salads were perfect. Just the right amount of dressing and topped with fresh anchovies. My steak was prepared perfectly. Incredibly tender and melted like butter. Definitely one of my top 3 steaks I’ve ever had. Staff were also incredible. Hostess was so kind and welcoming. Our waiter was well informed and had great recommendations. The manager and chefs were even seen walking around to ensure everyone was enjoying their meal. My only 4 star rating is due to the location. There is a massive window aligning the restaurant and the people walking by can be a bit distracting. We actually had a man stop and wave to us while eating. Not a big deal, just a personal preference. Thank you again for allowing us to dine! Photos are of the beef Wellington that was featured that night.

Had the best time here with the most delicious food and incredible staff! The chef and his staff go above and beyond and it shows in the food and service. We had the Caesar salad, ravioli, octopus, ribeye with bone marrow butter, pork schnitzel, and apple gallete - 10 out of 10!

Our whole experience was delightful. Julie was a very attentive server, food was delicious, and the ambiance was great. We certainly will be back. I wish I had taken more pictures of our meal!

The tuna app was delicious. The bread from Bobby Boy bakery was excellent. The steak was wonderfully seasoned and the grit cakes were beautiful. One of my favorite things were the frites. So crispy and the aoli was delicious! Look forward to returning!

We love coming here for a date night! The drinks are always great and the food is delicious! Highly recommend the crab dip and any of the bartender craft cocktails.

I highly recommend this place, the staff, the atmosphere is perfect for date night or special occasion. I 100% recommend the blueberry and lavender Pork chop, you will not be disappointed and to finish the night get their banana pudding.

My best friend and I went here Saturday for my 40th birthday dinner. The atmosphere was clean, and beautiful. Our server was attentive, kind, and extremely helpful. The food was delicious! We had the crab dip, filet and lamb loin all of which were delectable. Highly recommend.

Unquestionably Winston-Salem’s finest dining. Exceptional service, a great wine list, and terrific cocktails compliment an unbelievable seasonal menu. It’s difficult to describe - their food simply lives on another level - you must try it for yourself!

Absolutely wonderful experience. Went on a Tuesday to celebrate a large milestone for a family member. We brought a 4 year old & weren't sure how he was going to be received, as some nice restaurants regard children as an imposition. This was not the experience whatsoever. From the moment we walked in, they treated him like a prince, from making special lemonade with lots of maraschino cherries, making special chicken nuggets for him, to the chef personally delivering his ice cream at the end. It was so refreshing for the WHOLE family to be treated as equally important guests. The food was exceptional, although a little slow to come out. Creative pairings you cannot find elsewhere in town. A much needed addition to our downtown. It does cost more than your average, casual dining experience, but is priced fairly for that level of dining experience. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

This was without exaggeration one of the best meals we've ever had. Every bite was incredibly flavorful and the service was outstanding. HIGHLY recommend.

This was my first experience at Downtown Grille. I was on a first date and environment was perfect for conversation. Not awkwardly quiet and not too loud for good communication. Eachof us got steaks that were cooked to desired temp. I added bone marrow butter to my steak which was incredibly rich. Great choice! Round out the evening with good cocktails and beer menu and it was a home run. Fancy and pricey but well worth it for the right occasion.

First time visiting Downtown Grille and we weren’t disappointed. Beautiful restaurant with a lovely view! Brianna was very attentive and professional. Ribeye was prepared perfectly and melted in your mouth. Crab cake is a large portion and delicious! Nice wine list and craft cocktails. Can’t wait to try something else on the menu.

Amazing experience in downtown WS. Great food and great service. The food is exquisitely prepared and has beautiful presentation. The wine list is extensive. The vibe is cute and modern.

Really great small place. I sat at the bar. I had the most delicious chicken soup of my life. I’m not exaggerating. I wasn’t feeling steak. Perfect!

We have been a good many times and they are consistently top notch on food and service. The cocktails and food are always good. Every time we’ve gone, it’s been with someone else who was visiting for the first time. Each time someone has commented that the food exceeded their expectations. The service is stellar every time. I find it increasingly rare that service threads the needle of being friendly without being overly intrusive, while still being attentive. The front of house staff is great every time. I am so grateful this restaurant is a part of the culture of our city and I hope its influence and prosperity only grows!

Appetizers and deserts go well with a few drinks at the bar, we've had a couple of meals here too and have no complaints. Its a little bit more upmarket so dress accordingly.

Downtown Grille is our favorite spot in Winston Salem! They have a seasonal menu so you are never stuck having the same thing. Everything we’ve tried has been amazing! The service is always wonderful. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!!

This has become my family and I's go-to spot for special occasions like birthdays, or whenever we want great food and service. The Downtown Grille is *consistently* good. Excellent food and superb service. In my opinion, this restaurant is the best that Winston-Salem has to offer.

This establishment did not disappoint at all from the awesome service and great food I truly enjoyed myself here, and special thanks to our server Kim she was the best and I will be returning in the near future.

My husband and I had dinner with a friend . What a gem of a restaurant! Everything was pitch perfect. I wish I could give a ten… hands down … this is the best upscale restaurant in the area.

Hands Down best restaurant in town. We are returned customers and the food is always amazing. Chef is very creative with a deep understanding of international cuisine. He fuses southern cuisine with european, latin american and asian cuisine in a flawless and very elegant fashion. He respects the flavors and traditions and yet gives his own touch in every dish. Bravo!

10/10. We had dinner for my birthday the day after Valentine’s Day. Didn’t have to wait for a table when our originally planned restaurant was going to be an hour and a half wait. The staff is friendly, professional and knows the menu to a T. Now for the food. My husband and I have not stopped talking about the filet mignon special. It was EASILY the best steak we have ever had. I really want to go back and order it again before it’s gone! We also had the scallops, crab dip, pork chop, Brussel sprouts and roasted carrots. All of which were also amazing. Do not skip the brussel sprouts. I could have eaten three plates of them. We will definitely be back soon.

The attention to detail was amazing. Our waiter was also great. The food Was awesome also. I had salmon with sweet chili glaze and my wife got the same thing we will definitely be returning

Everything was fantastic. The wife is cutting out bread so the kitchen cut celery and fennel for our crab dip. John the general manager made sure to stop by and say hi. A lovely experience

There isn't anything negative to report. Staff went out of their way to ensure our birthday celebration was an excellent experience. The food was seasoned perfectly and cooked exactly as ordered. The chef came out to our table to check on how well we enjoyed the food! Our waitresses were pleasant and eager to please everyone in our group. The facility was beautifully decorated and very clean. I look forward to returning and definitely recommend this upscale restaurant.

Chef Harrison has put together a quiet little gem in downtown Winston Salem. I travel extensively (most recently dining at Ocean Prime in Tampa) and would put the menu, food prep and atmosphere of the Downtown Grille up against any restaurant in the Southeast. John the Manager and our waiter Dillon were fantastic. The bread service was the first hint we were in for a real treat. It only got better with each progressive menu selection. Well worth the 30 minute drive from Greensboro. Nothing in Greensboro can compare. Top shelf establishment.

I had the short rib and it was delicious. Nice size portion. The blood orange old fashion was a disappointment so just 4 stars.

Husband treated me to a birthday dinner. Atmosphere okay. Tables close together, can hear other guest conversations. Staff was nice. Vesper martini tasted watered down. Wrong salad brought to table, waiter offered to fix it but I declined as I didn’t want to inconvenience anyone. So I ate the Caesar salad instead of the citrus salad I ordered. Surf and turf presentation boring, I think lobster was over cooked. They placed our sides at the neighboring guests table, waiter soon realized it and we waited 10 minutes or more before sides came out to eat with our protein. Cherry cheesecake mediocre; Carmel sauce had a weird sharp Burned coffee taste. So in all, we ordered a charcuterie tray, 2 salads, 2 entrees, 2 sides and 1 dessert. over $230 not including tip. Overall experience not worth it. We’ve been to many places that are better: nobles grille-they make the best vesper martini and food is tasty. Even Ryan’s, Ruth Chris would’ve been better. No comps offered/given for mistakes on food delivery and waiter was still tipped accordingly. Best part was being able to dine with husband and converse without kids present. No desire to go back any time soon.

I ordered a salmon dinner medium well. I drove 5 minutes to my hotel to eat it and found it was medium at best. I called back the same night to let the restaurant know. The lady said to call the GM Monday for him to make it right. Well, I spoke to him today and he said this was his first time hearing about this. He asked for my receipt. I found it and gave him the info but he didn’t make it right. He said they don’t refund for salmon because they can’t control how it cooks. He also mentioned not losing money by refunding. I was really shocked and upset but he could care less. I will no longer patronize the Downtown Grill in Winston Salem nor do I recommend it. I spent a decent amount of money here the last 2 visits. I believe in giving credit when a restaurant gives good service but also when they don’t. This was not good customer service and no solution resolved.

We had a very disappointing experience here tonight. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes without even receiving water. Another server eventually stepped in to bring water and take our drink order before our assigned waiter appeared. When our assigned waiter finally appeared, he forgot our side order and only put it in after our entrées were already on the table. The whole experience was disorganized and frustrating. We won’t be coming back.
