First visit after the remodeling, and the atmosphere, service, and food were outstanding. Andy, gave us a great cab at the bar to get things going! We had a fantastic view while dining and had the carbonara, which was brand-new to this season's menu. Looking forward to our next visit!
My first day there it was amazing ! Staff is so friendly and kind ! The more you see them the more easier it is to talk to them . The restaurant I enjoyed ! The black hair waitress with the Apple Watch on her wrist who also had to help me plug my phone in because the outlets were not working …was my favorite person at the restaurant. She shown me even tho she didn’t know me that she would still go above and beyond to make sure I know she knows she has my back cause I felt lost when my s.o never came meaning I was on my own for ever . It shown me that I was on my own from there on and they learned a lot about me (she learned ) ..breakfast was amazing because I got to see the same black hair waitress as I was finishing my breakfast.
Stayed at the woodcliff for two nights and enjoyed breakfast and dinner at Horizons. While the breakfast was amazing, I’d give 100 stars for dinner. I had the short rib and my husband had the burger. BOTH were impeccable, but the short rib was the show. We also had some very lovely wait staff, sadly I cannot remember the name of our waitress at breakfast, but Debby was amazing during dinner. 10/10 a wonderful experience at Horizons!
The experience was phenomenal! The restaurant staff was at every step, above and beyond. (Reservations help) The food was delicious, the wine offerings were great and the view made for an unforgettable evening! Braised Short Rib for myself and Pork Chop and checkered potatoes for my Honey. We enjoyed the Muscato and the Semi Dry Riesling, P.S. Don't forget their Salt bread!
We absolutely love coming to Horizons. The food, the ambiance and the drinks are always spot on. Most importantly, the staff is just incredible. If you want a nice relaxing evening out, do not overlook Horizons at Woodcliff.
Kiril was an absolute pleasure. Incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Food was excellent, and the service was even better. This was my second time here, I will definitely be back.
Really good food with good service. My hubby had chicken dish it was very delicious. Kiddos went for burgers and quality was same as it was steak. I had sea bass which was good, however pairing with delicious sweet potato mush wasn’t the best, great on its own, I love sea bass for its delicate taste, sp were just overpowering. Beer isn’t that large of selection, but it was super delicious. Highly recommend. They also have breakfast, frittata and lox bagel we perfect ending to our stay.
Excellent food , great menu , great staff. Highly recommend 🔥
Our server Debbie was wonderful. View was spectacular. Highly recommend.
From cocktail hour at the bar, to one of the most mature 19 year old young men serving, the experience was worth every penny. Kiril is awesome 😎
Everything was super - wine, food, and service. Restaurant is beautiful. Many thanks to all - chef, servers, host. And manager (for finding and returning my Dad's wallet, he is very grateful 🙏).
Our waitress Debbie was wonderful! She was so nice and couldn’t do enough to make we had an excellent dining experience.
Deb was absolutely incredible, couldn’t have asked for a better server
Debbie was an amazing Waitress and made our 3 nights of dining wonderful!!!
Deb was our server and she was fantastic! The food was perfect, environment was absolutely beautiful and ambiance was so inviting, we will be back for seconds. Thank you for making our anniversary perfect!
We went here for a date night on somewhat of a whim. Very happy with the decision. The view was beautiful, and our meals started with one of the best martinis can remember having. Everything we ate was delicious. The service was also excellent.
Great restaurant. The views are amazing. Staff were really great as well. And the stand out of course is the food and drink.
Had great dairy free, gluten free options! And service was amazing!
Large floor and renovated a while ago. Saturday night was bustling, jazz quartet and lots of people! It was a bit noisy but enjoyable. Server and manager were very attentive. Good list of wine but not enough French. My scallops were perfectly cooked with white sauce, but the cream was too heavy and a bit too salty (scalps are already salty). Definitely will go back for a fancier side meals and jazz quartet was a great touch - I wish the place wasn't too noisy.
Really great all-around experience, particularly the service. It's very clear that they all have been through an excellent training in order to be attentive but not too pushy. Absolutely worth the time and it does have one of the best views in the area. Thanks to Kiril and the entire staff. It's a class act and I will be back there soon. Thank you.
The food and the staff are excellent. We have been going back for years and something on the menu always catches my eye and distracts me from trying the burger. This time I was determined to try it and I really regret waiting so long…….pure perfection! My only complaint is the place needs some updating. Don’t look up at the ceiling tiles!
Deb was AMAZING, so nice and so accommodating. Made the experience exceptional. Not to mention, the food was absolutely delicious.
Beautiful restaurant. Excellent food, but most importantly, excellent staff, especially Linda. She was so outgoing, friendly and extremely attentive. Will definitely be going back.
Debbie is the best waitress at the Woodcliffe. Professional,, friendly and made us feel like family.
Konstantin was our server who was amazing. In fact all the staff there is great. We come here every year for our anniversary and leave feeling like royalty! Thank-you Konstantin and staff for an amazing experience!
Kanstantin was an absolute excellent server! This is our second time having Kanstantin and he attends to our every need & very pleasant. We will definitely be returning to Horizons woodcliff and will ask to be seated at Kanstantin's table. Great experience on Friday, July 19, 2025 at Horizons woodcliff restaurant. We will be definitely returning! Mj Mathew
We had dinner for our wedding anniversary here. Lilian was our server and she was super kind, courteous and she absolutely made our day. They even enhanced our experience by offering us complimentary champagne and cake for our anniversary, which was really generous. We have ordered their chicken milanese and pan seared salmon and both were super delicious and fresh. Also we tried their oysters and they were really fresh. We would really recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a nice spot, with great food and service. Also the live music and the hill-top scenery are a bonus.
Great views for enjoying an early breakfast. Lynda and Morgan are wonderful and help get your day started right.
Debbie, our server, was great! Our food was excellent and service was attentive. The singer/music was fabulous. We would come back again!
Debra was absolutely amazing. We had family in from out of town , 11 of us and she was so helpful and pleasant. Food was fantastic also.
Service (Kiril was our server) was excellent. Food very good. Atmosphere a tad dated. View excellent also. Would go again for sure.
Crazy that folks have a bad experience here. This place was phenomenal. I sat at the bar and had a great steak with a bottle of Napa wine. Small talk with the gentlemen behind the bar about the area was very knowledgeable. My coworker had the pork chop which he rant and raved about the excellent flavor all evening long. Business brought me here, but rest and relaxation will bring me back. Thank you for the hospitality.
Had a great time at Horizons. The food was fantastic, and our service was friendly and perfectly attentive. Celebrated our 8 years and had a low key night, the atmosphere was just what we needed. I also enjoyed my berry sage cocktail, which is rare! Vegetarian items were delicious as well. We will be back for more based on this lovely experience.
Enjoyed a post-Valentine’s Day dinner at Horizons (thank you to Christy and Owen!). Love the atmosphere and the warmth of the servers. One of my favorite places to just relax and have a drink and the best salt bread I’ve ever had. Thank you!
Dinner was great! Atmosphere was pleasant, beautiful view and amazing service! The manager Chris was very friendly and attentive to detail. He checked on our table multiple times. It was our first time going to dinner at Horizon's in many years. We will be back!
My family and I decided to go out for Easter brunch this year. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly host and were seated immediately. Our server Lilly came over within a few minutes, introduced herself and was attentive to our needs until we left. The food was excellent, beef was tender, shrimp crisp, breakfast items great. Music wasn't too loud. Overall a great experience.
Laila, our host, was very hospitable, friendly, and accommodating. We have dined here many times and always consider ourself lucky when we see Laila. The brunch was fantastic!
I generally don't write reviews but what a great experience! My family went for Easter Brunch, wasn't sure what to expect. We had reservations and were seated on time. The food was excellent and plentiful (food ranged from breakfast - dinner). The mimosas and wide range of desserts were great as well! Our server (Lilly) was attentive, patient with my young children, and definitely made us feel welcome. I was surprised how much was included for the price, I would have paid more. (Not complaining haha) We will definitely go again, maybe mother's day if they have a brunch then.
Lunch with a beautiful view. Had a great arugula salad with fresh ingredients and a fantastic Strawberry Rhubarb Margarita. Tara was also an excellent hostess.
Shared a fantastic meal here with my wife-great service, fantastic view! Nice cocktail menu and an interesting wine selection. The crab appetizer, Asian scallops and rack of lamb were prepared and served perfectly-thank you to the kitchen!
Had dinner for 14. Our Server Deb was OUTSTANDING!!! Orders delivered were spot on and Hot. Billing went perfectly. Would recommend Restaurant to anyone!
Debbie is fabulous! Her positive attitude, attention to detail, and caring for our needs is fantastic. Also, her warmth, wit and personality greatly enhanced the very pleasant experience we had at Horizons. Many thanks, Elaine and Mike!
Deb & Lillian were incredible tonight as we enjoyed an absolutely delicious dinner and dessert. They were both so very kind and made my littles happy. We felt like home when away from home. Thank you!
We stayed here for 1 night, the service was absolutely incredible between the room service and the restaurant, especially the restaurant… Deb was our server, she was so amazing, so kind and very knowledgeable about the menu. This hotel was a great experience and we will definitely be back.
The food and cocktails were excellent. Debbie knew the food and drink offerings completely and offered the perfect pairings. She was so friendly and professional.
Our server Kiril was amazing! He was so great at offering gluten free options and went above and beyond to check on gluten free bread for an appetizer. The menu offered wonderful N/A options for drinks and they had an extensive cocktail and wine list. Everything we had at our table was delicious and the service was exceptional. The view was perfect as well. A perfect night out option. We would definitely come back!
Celebrated my birthday and was impressed with the service and food. Our server Aga was wonderful. Will definitely recommend, and please try the crab cakes !
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Horizons, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, Debbie. She was kind, attentive, and made us feel completely taken care of from start to finish. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely seems to enjoy making people feel welcome, and Debbie did just that. Thank you for such a lovely evening — we’ll definitely be back! Horizons is a FAVORITE!
It was an amazing meal great atmosphere. The view was spectacular and so is the food. Highly recommend to have Debbie as your waitress. She is attentive and very thorough.
Debbie was fun and wonderful, we had a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner with her. Live music was excellent as well. 10/10
Wonderful anniversary and Debbie was a perfect server! Very pleasant, nice comfortable table and atmosphere. Great menu options with creative meals.
Horizons at Woodcliff was an amazing experience! Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant looked lovely decorated for the holidays and had an overall classy and welcoming vibe. We started with the oysters, which were awesome, and the sea bass and steak were cooked perfectly. Horizons exceeded expectations on every level. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-tier dining experience!
Beautiful views, our server Debbie was friendly, helpful and made sure everything was to our liking! The burrata and focaccia appetizer was excellent—definitely shareable! Shrimp cocktail was huge and excellent! Unfortunately no room for dessert! Wish we were able to see sunset as I’m sure it would have been beautiful!
My husband and I recently booked a room at Woodcliff, and enjoyed an early Valentine’s Day dinner at their restaurant. We have been fortunate enough to have dined in some of the best restaurants in Rochester and by far Horizons exceeded our previous experiences. I had the lobster special and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The mashed potatoes that accompanied the lobster were truly unique, and reminded me of my mom’s homemade version where she had a secret ingredient. I confirmed my suspicions with the chef who was kind enough to visit us at our table to accept our compliments. My husband had the Waygu strip steak and was equally impressed. Not only was the food spectacular, the romantic atmosphere was warm and inviting, with service to match. Going forward Horizons will definitely top our list of special occasion restaurants. Thank you for an amazing and unforgettable experience!
Elegant atmosphere with a great view out over the country side. Menu has many classic and creative dishes. Wait staff is very accommodating and professional. A special call out to our waiter Konstantin who is excellent.
Our waitress Debbie, was phenomenal. She had a wonderful sense of humor , was helpful with menu selections and made the evening a great event for the 8 of us.
The food was wonderful. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Deb, our server, was the best. Great sense of humor (she told us the story of having her name tag upside down and went by Bed for half her shift). I was easily amused and my name is Deb.
My husband and I were recently here to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was excellent, 10/10 we would definitely come back. I believe our server was named Brandice, very grateful she was great, very comfy chairs, the lighting was dimmed just right - the food was *SO GOOD* I have food allergies, and they were very accommodating. I had scallops and my husband had a steak - both excellent. The server recommended the mashed potatoes for his side, she said they were exceptionally delicious, and they were. We sat by a large window, the view was also nice. It made for a memorable anniversary. Really nice, felt compelled to leave a review! Thank you!
Horizons Modern Kitchen + Wine Bar was the perfect choice for my birthday dinner. My boyfriend brought me here for a quiet, intimate evening just the two of us, and everything exceeded expectations. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. Our server, Debbie, was phenomenal—attentive, friendly, and made the night feel extra special without being intrusive. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable, making it the ideal spot for a special occasion. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday dinner and will definitely be back!
We had the pleasure of dining at Horizons for both breakfast and dinner, and each experience was exceptional. For breakfast, I highly recommend the buffet, priced around $22–$23—an excellent value for the quality and variety offered. Our second dinner was just as outstanding as the first. The host, Nate, warmly remembered us from the previous evening and even greeted us by name, which made the experience feel especially welcoming. For our meal, we enjoyed the Prime pork chops with whipped potatoes—perfectly prepared and full of flavor. As starters, we shared the crab cakes and jumbo shrimp cocktail, both of which were fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully balanced. Compliments to the chef for such a thoughtfully crafted menu. Horizons is truly a dining destination worth visiting—even if you’re not staying at the hotel.
I've dined and stayed at the best hotels in my extensive travels through out the world, and the dinner I had a The Woodcliff was one of the best I've ever had! We had a total of 10 in our dinner party (including one toddler) and we all had an amazing time! Our server, Aga was kind and very attentive to our every need (including my grandson, who can be quite picky). Thank you Aga for making this a wonderful experience for the whole family, including my father-in-law who flys in on his private jet to vist several times a year. Also, a big thank you to Ariel, the manager, for her amazing wine substitution when they ran out of our favorite label. I'm also so happy that they were accommodating of my grandson, who wants to walk around and gently touch the Christmas ornaments (who wouldn't -- they are so majestic). I feel so grateful that they let him hold a plastic ball ornament, as it kept him easily occupied so that he didn't screem in the restaurant and bother the other diners, who were also enjoying their meals. My nephew, who is a talented student at the Eastman School of Music, got to play a relaxing piece on the Woodcliff's gorgeous grand piano. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart for this magical holiday experience for my family, especially for my sister, who is about to have breat cancer surgery on Friday. You all made this a peaceful, relaxing and wonderful Christmas celebration before a very scary time for our family. Peace and Love this holiday season, and if your travel plans bring you to Rochester, please consider staying here at the Woodcliff. Whatever holiday you celebrate this time of year, I know they will take great care of you and yours! 🕎✝️🕉️☪️ 💖
Really the best night out with my girlfriend!! The food was outstanding but the dessert was AMAZING!! It was a smoked s’mores affogato. Over all the food the staff was amazing. Out waiter Kiril was so attentive and the best waiter ever!! Elise the junior sommelier was great too. They also had a live band playing Xmas music that was so festive. I can’t wait to comeback!!
Awesome food and atmosphere on a Saturday night. Gorgeous sunset view, and amazing service by KIRIL Thank you. We will be back. Great new fall menu. 💕💕 Wonderful drinks and dessert. The pork chop was unbelievable. Live music . . . So good.
One of the best restaurants and music venues in the Pittsford -Victor and general Rochester area. Horizons staff is incredible in service and hospitality. Alise Kilmer is an excellent sommelier with French wine background and can lead you to any region of France having studied wines there. Chef de Cuisine Ashley Perez has amazing Culinary experience in Spain which shows in the unique dishes she creates for Horizons. Enjoyed the scallops with ink squid in pumpkin sauce along with Bibb salad and goat cheese ... Deb is a lovely server who knows her wine and food and dotes on all her customers. Thank you very much Horizons and Woodcliff...all the staff rocks
A Luxurious New Year’s Eve at Horizons! My daughter and I celebrated New Year’s Eve with the 5-course dinner at Horizons, and as always, the experience was absolutely exceptional. The atmosphere is the definition of elegance and luxury, creating the perfect setting for such a special night. The dinner was out of this world—each course was beautifully presented like a work of art and tasted incredible. The customer service was outstanding, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable evening. A special thank-you to Justin, who welcomed us warmly and stayed in touch through text messages to assist us whenever needed. We also had a wonderful experience staying at the hotel. Our room greeted us with a bottle of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, a thoughtful and indulgent touch. However, the only issue we faced was getting grapes for the midnight tradition of making 12 wishes, one for each month. We had ordered a charcuterie board through room service, assuming it would include grapes, but it didn’t. Later, we requested grapes at the restaurant, and while the waitress initially said yes, a female manager explained they were saving them. Thankfully, we did get our grapes in the end! Tip: If you plan to attend the New Year’s dinner and follow the 12 wishes grape tradition, bring your own grapes to avoid any hassle. Aside from that minor challenge, Horizons provided a luxurious and memorable New Year’s celebration for my daughter and me. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an elegant and extraordinary experience!
A beautiful place with wonderful service and a fantastic menu! Every visit is a delight, and the staff always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The menu offers a great variety of delicious options, but I have to say, their burger is absolutely outstanding. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor, it's easily one of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for any occasion, especially a romantic date night. I can’t recommend this place enough!
Our server, Debbie, was super helpful handling our daughter’s food allergies. The whole meal was delicious and we watched the sun set. Our surroundings were very nice and the singer and piano were an added treat.
Came in on Saturday and was pleased to learn that Horizons debuted a brand new brunch menu for Saturdays and Sundays! Everything looked fantastic and we decided to share the "table tots" which which like jumbo hashbrowns, perfectly crisp on the outside and really nice texture on the inside, I personally loved the malt vinegar aioli and it came with a slightly spicy ketchup too. We decided to double down on the potatoes because BRUNCH and also got the breakfast poutine which was a generous portion of classic poutine topped with a nice fried egg. Personally, I needed to round out the strach with something lighter and got the quiche.... it was so light and perfect, nice crust, which creamy egg and goat cheese and an awesome layer of carmelized onions which added bild flavor. It came with a nice side salad and fruit so we did leave feeling over satiated. Our server Morgan was fantastic and although we had a meeting and couldn't drink there was a really nice looking spring cocktail menu as well.
I absolutely always enjoy my time here. The food is always amazing and flavorful. I love that the menu is never the same so there's always the opportunity to try something new,. Not only is the food amazing the but the presentation is aesthetically pleasing. The atmosphere is great too... and I can't forget the amazing staff my waiter Debbie always gets me right.
Enjoyed a dinner at Horizons and tried the Banana dessert. Konstantin was our waiter was exceptional-very personable, great sense of humor, spot on recommendations, and a pleasure to talk with.
I’ve enjoyed both Breakfast and Lunch at Horizons, it is such a uniquely beautiful spot with great views from the expansive windows. I had the pumpkin mascarpone ravioli in a cream sauce which was different and delicious! Service is always top tier when dining here, the severs are so friendly and accommodating.

Had Valentines Day dinner at Horizons. The evening was excellent in all aspects from start to finish. The food was outstanding, clearly the chef knows how to create dishes with flavors that complement each other, delicious! All of the staff, from the bar tenders, the coat check lady, our server Debbie, to management were personable, efficient and attentive. Since it was Valentines Day the restaurant was extremely busy but the acoustics were very good in that I could have an intimate conversation with my partner (very important if you don't want to shout to be heard above the noise). I should note that tables were not on top of each other which enhanced the overall experience. There was a Jazz trio playing that also added to a charming atmosphere. The only opportunity is that we miss a place to get up and dance, pre-Covid it was possible to do that in the bar area.
Horizons is truly the perfect place to wine, dine, and enjoy a wonderful evening. My daughter ordered the spinach pasta with garlic shrimp, and I had the Prime pork chop—both were absolutely delicious. Our server, Debbie, provided outstanding service; she was attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful in guiding us through entrée and appetizer selections. For drinks, we especially loved The Venetian-a rich, creamy espresso cocktail that was the perfect complement to our meal. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The ambiance is exquisite—relaxing, melodic, and elevated by a fantastic live band. The female vocalist, in particular, was phenomenal; if she released an album, I would purchase it without hesitation. Overall, I would rate Horizons a 10 out of 10. In fact, I’m enjoying another Venetian here as I write this review, which speaks volumes about how much we’ve enjoyed the experience.
The Horizons Restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm atmosphere and elegant design. A special mention goes to Linda, the manager, whose professionalism and genuine kindness instantly make you feel like a valued guest. Her passion and attention to detail shine through in every aspect of the experience. Equally impressive was the service provided by Tara - attentive, friendly and always with a smile. She had a perfect sense of timing, make us feel completely comfortable and cared for. The food itself, we had breakfast, was outstanding: beautifully presented, fresh and bursting with flavor. Overall, an exceptional breakfast experience made unforgettable thanks to Linda and Tara. I can wholeheartedly recommend Horizons and look forward to my next visit coming from Germany!
Came here with a large group. Service was excellent. I thought the food was very well done. Good flavors. Lamb was delicious. Very good desserts. Would eat here again!
Horizons was fantastic from start to finish. Our server, Konstantin, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The manager, Alise, was also extremely welcoming, attentive, and made the whole experience better. They both made our dining experience great, and the meal and dessert were delicious. All around great time, and we hope to be back soon.
We love coming to Horizons for special occasions or just as a treat! Our server, Brandice, was phenomenal - so attentive and pleasant! The manager and staff are also extremely friendly and professional, elevating the whole experience. There isn't enough room to describe how delicious and perfectly prepared our food was! An exceptional evening!

The food was wonderful. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Deb, our server, was the best. Great sense of humor (she told us the story of having her name tag upside down and went by Bed for half her shift). I was easily amused and my name is Deb.

Thank you!
Wonderful ambience with great views and live jazz band. Food was a solid 7 out of 10,nothing to write home about, but we'll be coming back. Cocktails were just OK, folks need to learn how to make an old fashioned (hint: upgrade your cherry and use more orange). Appetizers and dessert were incredible. Main dishes were average.
Overall always a nice experience. Food is usually spot on! Highly recommend.
Got scallops, artichokes, mushroom toast for apps. Halibut and lamb for entree. All very good. German chocolate cake was really next level! I was pleasantly surprised how good everything was, especially considering the other low reviews. Waitstaff was prompt, professional, welcoming. I look forward to dining here again.
Not Bad!! We are a group of 25 people planned for a party there. Some of the items like Calamari, giant pretzel and cob salad are good. But, noodles are horrible. They are so thick, it just hurts out stomach. It’s just like eating rubber. We asked them to make it extra spicy, but it remained sweet. Coming to menu, they are literally very few items. To get the noodles they took 45 mins. It’s definitely not worth it, may be we can try it once. Staff are very polite, and are responsive. No issues with em. They can improve a lot, because some appetizers are awesome. They just need to work on to make it better.
I stayed in the hotel and weather was bad so I chose to eat here three times. The steak is not worth the money. It was cooked fine but it was not tender and delicious. The wild mushrooms were reminiscent of the ones you get from a can. The shrimp was so overcooked it was dry and tough. The best thing I had was the hamburger and that was just ok. I tried some of the deserts and was very happy with the chocolate cake, very fancy pastry work. The panna cotta was gelatinous and probably a few days from fresh, the odd thing on the panna cotta was the pomegranate seeds which added a woody toothpick flavor. The only fantastic thing here was the servers. They were polite and attentive. There dialog was exact and not mixed with slang. The service is the only reason to truly be happy when you leave.
The service was amazing!! I’ve been here several times and the food is typically delicious. This last time, the cauliflower was unseasoned, the marbled potatoes were overly salted, and the garlic shrimp had no garlic taste. It was quite disappointing. I left hungry considering the amount of money spent.. Hoping next time it’ll be better ..
Upon arriving, fountain in front wasn’t working. Also, noticed carpets were dirty and place looked a bit worn down. Dinner was Ok. Steak was cooked perfectly, mashed potatoes were buttery and perfect. The roasted chicken dinner online was different than what I received. They had just changed the menu and not said anything, wasn’t a fan. Excited for the Mac & Cheese but no cheese flavor- tasted like straight butter! Little disappointed for the price. Service was good though! Bed in room was comfortable and the shower was amazing. Good water pressure and felt like it was softened water so that was a bonus! Robes were comfy but slippers were cheap. Overall was a good experience but probably wouldn’t return. Overpriced.
The atmosphere wasn't bad, could use some updates perhaps. The manager was very pleasant, the waiter was alright. Misunderstood my wife's order and brought the wrong thing but was otherwise nice. The food however was not good. I had the lamb (pictured) and it was just very bland and not a good recipe in my opinion. My wife had the salmon and it was way over cooked. She ordered medium rare and got well done. I think the place needs some reworking but has great potential.
Waitresses were attentive and the atmosphere with live music was nice! The food was lackluster however, especially considering the price. I would never have guessed it was ~$40 a plate. No bread service and the water had very stale tasting ice cubes in it. Desserts were the best part!
Very disappointing! Gathered with a group of friends for lunch. The restaurant was far from busy but it took 45 minutes for the waitress to take our order. The food was unremarkable and one guest’s food came out well after everyone else was served. When we were finished I had to find our waitress to request our checks. It was the longest lunch that I have ever experienced. Nice views but that’s about it for Horizons!
The food was good, BUT the slowest service I have ever experienced in my life. Two and a half hours there, didn’t even get dessert. Everything took forever. And for such an expensive meal, they really made no effort to make it a pleasant dining experience and not one apology for everything taking so long. Highly disappointing after spending $600.
The food here was okay, nothing special. We were here for Mothers day brunch and it required a reservation. We all ordered coffee (4) then three came out, the server had to go back and get the fourth. We asked for cream and milk for the coffee, a small amount came to the table, enough for one cup each, each time we got a refill we had to ask the server to bring more. Maybe they could have brought us a larger carafe rather then run to the kitchen every time we got a refill of coffee. Same thing for condiments, they all come out in small containers then they run to the kitchen and litter the table with way too many small dishes making you wait all the while. the breakfasts all came with a large portion of potatoes. We asked about a side order of potatoes that sounded like it had a good sauce on it, but it was basically a mix of hot sauce and garlic aioli. Instead of an 8 dollar order of side potatoes they could have just offered to bring us the sauce to put on our own plates. It ended up being too much potato. The potatoes themselves were not bad but it all makes you question why they insist on organizing their menu that way. The atmosphere and the aesthetic was nice with the view over the valley, I would say you're paying more for that than a dining experience. The menu itself is small with not much variety but you should be able to find something you like.
My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary at the Horizon on the 14th of Feb, 2026. The special Valentine meal for two was over $220.00 In my opinion it was highly overpriced. The value of the meal was not met. The portions were small, hard to get service, utensils taken away and not replaced, staff looked like a chicken running around with its head cut off. Never again.
I have traveled a great deal on business. When looking for a hotel the Restaurant is important. Horizons at Woodcliff Hotel is a restaurant that I swore never to visit again ten years ago. Yesterday my wife said she heard good reviews, so we headed out to Horizons for breakfast. We walked in at 9:15, the restaurant opens ar 8:00 am. I thought that sounded funny, since businesses begin earlier. We git to the "captains" station, and no one was there. There were only 3 customers in the restaurant. One main had obviously been there for more than a day, because he came in with a large cup of Starbucks coffee. We waited for 5 minutes. No sign of a waitress, no one to check in with. Finally my wife walked out to the front desk. She found 5 employees talking and having coffee. They told her that they'd call back and have someone meet us. Ten minutes later a disturbed looking young woman came out and seated us. Let me stop and get to the details. A waitress comes over, and hands us a menu. It was one page long, large text. We asked for coffee. She came back later for our order. We had not yet gotten coffee, so we asked again. She took our cups. "We have fresh coffee brewing, I'll take your cups. ??? When we finally got coffee it was Luke warm with grounds on the bottom. I ordered scrambled eggs, sausage, and home fries. I got two eggs over, we'll done, cold, rubbery. Instead of hash browns I received tater tots. One slice of cold toast with no butter. The sausage links were warm, not bad. The couple near us sent one of their meals back. It was the worst breakfast I can remember. It was obvious why there were no customers. When I read good reviews for this place, I have to question the validity. One star is way overrating.
Went there for Easter brunch with family (10 people ). Although I made reservations 3 weeks in advance, which they confirmed 2 days ago, when we arrived for a 11:15 seating they did not have our reservation. After some scrambling around they were able to put two rounds together to accommodate us. After sitting for 20 minutes with no sever showing up to take our drink order we headed off to the buffet … the scrambled eggs were hard, the bagels were hard as a rock, the shrimp was frozen and there was at least a 20 minute wait on the omelets made to order. While there was an unlimited offering of mimosas for a price , good luck in finding a server to get them. Other items were fine but in general I have to say it was a totally unenjoyable experience and certainly not worth the $57 pp price tag. While the family has been to several of the Woodcliff’s Easter brunches throughout the years, including 2 yrs ago during the pandemic, this yrs was definitely the worst and likely our last.
one of the four felt the appetizer was presented terribly and lacked any flavor. two of the four found entre absolutely inedible; one sent the meal back. after this experience we skipped dessert and left. server was pleasant but not knowledgeable about food or drink menu. manager never came over after we expressed our marked dissatisfaction.
I love unique food and menus that are modern. But this kitchen seems like there isn’t even actually a chef making it but is ordering it frozen and microwaving it after it’s sat out and spoiled for hours. I come to the hotel once a month and EVERY time the food has been terrible, and even worse made my stomach messed up for the rest of the night. I gave it a few chances but this last time I realized it wasn’t worth the stomach issues and wasted money especially when it wasn’t enjoyed what so ever. I’d rather pay for overpriced fast food to be delivered than eat at this restaurant. I have made two reviews on google, once for mind blowing delicious food. And the second for horizons modern kitchen’s mind blowing terrible food. This hotel deserves better than what they are serving for food. It doesn’t match the lovely employees here. New chef is totally recommended.
