Gran servicio.

Xaak was easily one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment the tasting menu began, it felt like a true culinary journey through Mexican culture and flavors — elevated, artistic, and incredibly thoughtful. Every course was beautifully presented and perfectly balanced, with flavors that were bold yet refined. The attention to detail in both the food and the service was next level. The staff took the time to explain each dish and made the entire evening feel immersive and special. If you’re staying at Xcaret Arte, Xaak is an absolute must. It’s not just dinner — it’s an experience.

Fantastic service and atmosphere - our waitress was extremely attentive. There seemed to be an almost 1:1 ratio of front of house staff to guests.

Breathtaking location, with a partial underwater view of the water outside. There was a beautiful solo dance performance halfway through our meal. Each course was described to us in detail, the dessert chef served us one of our dessert courses, and the manager gave us a lovely surprise on the way out. The cocktail pairing added a nice touch.

This is the best meal I've ever had. My wife and I came here for our anniversary and were blown away. Food was incredible, atmosphere very romantic, service wonderful, and I just can't say enough good things about this place.

Xaak is located inside the beautiful Xcaret Arte Hotel. Named after large baskets ancient Mayan's used to store sacred meals, Xaak is the brainchild of 5 celebrity Chefs who among them have at least one Michelin Star: Roberto Solis, Franco Maddalazzo, Paco Mendez, Jonatan Gomez Luna, Alejandro Ruiz, The seven course tasting menu consisting of re-imagined regional dishes. There is an upcharge for dining here, $175 per person, $50 for wine or mocktail pairing. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. The wine pairing was excellent with generous servings. Desert is served with a premium tequila.

What an amazing and unforgettable experience. The food and service was on point. An experience that was timed and curated to perfection. Gady, Armando & Patricia and the manager, Luz took care of us with the utmost care and love. I highly recommend Xaak to anyone considering it. Worth every penny!

The food is really creative, everything is delicious, you can tell they took the time to think in every course! I really recommend this restaurant!!! The portions are perfect and the mix between flavors and cuisine is a match made in heaven! If you don't drink alcohol you are in luck because the none alcoholic drinks are really tasty and innovative! 5 stars out of 5!

Best meal I have ever ate. The service is unbelievable. Anyone that complains at this restaurant doesn't love food and doesnt appreciate quality service. You cant blink without a server asking if you need anything. Complainers go back to Applebee's...this is another level. I'd pay $300 all day a person back in Miami. AMAZING 👏

Have no idea how this place has such low star number ratings. This place is hands down the best restaurant I have ever been to. I have been all over the world and from start to beginning I could have wept tears from how Unbelievable our experience was. Diana was our server and she was an absolute gem. Xcaret crushes it again with another Michelin star chef on the property doing a FANTASTIC job! Congrats Xaak

The service was great as was the decor and the drinks, the food was interesting, clearly a high level of effort throughout (the Cesar salad blend with ricotta ice cream was fantastic, as was the pork belly, mole sauce, and dessert) but the additional cost of ~$175 per person for an all inclusive resort was, for me, not worth skipping on Mercado. If it was included in the price I’d give 5 stars.

Our upcharge to eat here was USD350, which is substantial given we already had included meals at very nice restaurants included in our package. We figured would take advantage of this opportunity for a really high-end experience. First off, the atmosphere, service, and food was excellent. The 7 course tasting meal was delicious and included 5 wine pairings. However, I was very turned off when we were sat at our table and they immediately tried to upset us to "better wines and tequila" for $50 USD. I honestly thought for $350 USD we would already have that. After the meal, I asked for coffee with Khalua and was informed that would be $8. Very tacky considering we were staying at a high-end all-inclusive! Lastly, the waiter brought me a bill " to sign, with room number" even though I had to prepay the $350 with our reservation a week earlier. This was a thinly disguised ploy to ask for a tip (tip field was very prominent), even though it's were also included. I don’t mind paying for great service, but, this was unnecessary and ruined an otherwise great meal. BTW, the best meal we had was at Tah-Xido Fusion and it didn’t cost any extra.

Our upcharge for Xaak was $175pp for our stay at Xcaret Arte in early Nov 2023. Xaak (shak - Mayan for hanging baskets used to dry fish), designed by the chefs' collective of Hotel Xcaret Arte using mixed ingredients and flavors from different regions of the country. They serve each course using kitchenware and folk art pieces made by master craftsmen and paired with Mexican wines and Clase Azul tequilas. It was amazing, from the decor to the service to the food. We especially loved the wine pairings with Mexican wines. Perfectly dry, wonderfully balanced wines from regions and wineries we had never heard of. What a treat.

$175.00 per person for a beef taco and a piece of pork belly??? Better waste your money elsewere.

I’m genuinely disappointed to be writing this, as my husband and I had looked forward to this meal more than any other on our Xcaret Arte trip. Unfortunately, Xaak didn’t come close to meeting our expectations—especially given the price point and glowing reviews. We dine at restaurants like this often and had two exceptional tasting menus earlier in the week, at Encanta and Chino Poblano. Both offered beautiful presentation, inventive courses, and unforgettable flavors. Coming off those experiences, Xaak felt flat, disjointed, and frankly forgettable. I’m not sure if the presence of guest chefs that night played a role, but the drop in quality was noticeable. Our dishes even looked completely different from review photos—like we were getting a lower-tier version of what Xaak is supposed to be. From the start, the dishes lacked visual appeal or any real creativity. After a few courses, I stopped taking photos—something I typically love to do when a dish feels thoughtful or exciting. Several courses just weren’t enjoyable. I didn’t finish more than one. When our server asked about one dish neither of us finished, I gave some light feedback—that the pork belly was extremely chewy and difficult to eat. Unfortunately, the comment seemed to make them uncomfortable, and the conversation ended there. It became clear that further honest feedback wouldn’t be welcomed, so I didn’t offer any. Another point that shouldn’t have mattered—but ultimately did: we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and had noted it in the reservation. Every other restaurant on property acknowledged and celebrated us—often with a sweet gesture at the end of the meal. Xaak didn’t mention it once, nor ask about the occasion. I wasn’t expecting anything over the top, but after being thoughtfully acknowledged elsewhere—even before the actual day—this felt like a noticeable miss. The whole experience was lackluster, and nothing stood out as exceptional. It was the only dining experience at Arte we didn’t enjoy. Had Xaak been part of the all-inclusive offering, our expectations would have been different—but for a paid, premium experience, it simply didn’t deliver. Ultimately, if you’re considering splurging here, I’d recommend saving your money. Encanta offers a far superior experience and it’s already included with your stay.

GOT PARASITES FROM EATING HERE. If I could give 0 stars, I would. We enjoyed everything about Xcaret, except this restaurant, but what is worse is the management. I came here with my wife on our honeymoon, and shortly after eating at this place (3 hours after) I couldn’t stop going to the bathroom (both ends) for the next 12 hours. I then had to go to the hospital as the pain was unbearable. Spent the entire day in the hospital, found out I had parasites, and had to spend almost $1000 USD on a hospital bill. The result? They kept telling us that we have to pay when we check out and that they will follow the process to refund us through email… then I read the reviews and saw people had almost identical experiences… These people don’t want to admit that their Michelin star restaurant made someone sick because it’s bad publicity. DO NOT EAT HERE.

This was the most disappointing experience that my husband and I had at Xcaret Arte. The food was incredibly expensive and for no good reason. Many of the courses were pureed like baby food. Spend your money elsewhere at Xcaret Arte!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. We prepaid for our dinner at this restaurant expecting a high-end culinary experience. Instead, it was by far the worst part of our entire stay at Xcaret Arte — and the only one that made us physically ill. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, which should have been a red flag. The food was terrible, nothing like what we expected. It was undercooked, bitter, and some looked like they took it out of a freezer and heated it up in a microwave. We spoke to the manager, who seemed shady and uninterested. He told us to sign the bill anyway, claiming it was part of the process to get our money back — we now realize that was just a tactic to cover themselves. We never received the refund, and worse, no one ever followed up, even though they said they would. We reached out to guest services in Hotel Xcaret Arte and they said there was no record that we had gotten sick, however we let them know that my wife was ill the day after we dined there which was also our checkout date and we sent an email to guest services that night, so we clearly have records that they refused to accept. It’s clear now they never had any intention of refunding us or taking any accountability for what happened. What makes this more disappointing is that we enjoyed other restaurants at the resort — those experiences were great. But Xaak? It stood out in the worst way. And the fact that Xcaret would let this slide and not support guests who suffered an illness after eating there is a complete shame. We’ll never return to this establishment and don’t recommend it to anyone who expects quality food, transparency, or basic customer care. If something goes wrong, they’ll smile, nod, and disappear. Sadly, in Mexico legal action is costly so they don’t care if you get sick or not.

⸻ Disappointed by both the food and atmosphere. The restaurant was nearly empty, and the quality of the food didn’t justify the price. Dishes like pork belly and short rib felt more like buffet staples than gourmet offerings. I’m honestly surprised this place is still in business. Save your money and dine elsewhere.

We signed up & paid for this dinner when checking in to xcaret. When my partner wasn't feeling well, we tried to cancel 2 days before the scheduled dinner. The restaurant refused to provide a refund.

Blind tasting menu that offers not much taste for an upcharge, might have as well been blind with my taste buds. Service from the waiters were the only shining light, not including the receptionists. Review: I was running a bit late as we had some issues getting back to the hotel. The receptionist at the front was very dismissive about us showing up 15 minutes late. I was fine with their attitude if that was all. We sat down and our waiter was good, the only issue was that the food was bland and didn't meet the standard I was hoping and expecting considering that it is an additional fee restaurant. We walked out mid meal before desserts were served, most likely due to the sour note receptionist gave us and the mediocre food. If you are staying at la Playa de Casa stick with ostero instead.
