Opinions de The Pie Port Jefferson
Great little place! I was here with my family on a busy Tuesday evening in August. We were seated immediately in a large booth. It was noisy, which was great because we have small children they would not be heard over the din. Coincidentally, the kids were quiet because they give the kids wikki stix instead of a coloring page. We ordered mozzarella caprese as an appetizer and a large margherita pizza. Both were delicious. It all came to right under $40 with the food, two sodas, a milk and a juice.
Di Parma pizza was quite good.
This is one of the best pizza places. The eggplant parmigiana is good. Supreme is good. The baked clams and salad is amazing. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves pizza and good food.
My server Kerri was amazing. She was so kind and attentive! I will definitely be coming back here very soon! Thank you so much again Kerri! :)
It was great and amazing the service is kinda long but the food made up for it
Unforgettable! It’s been a few weeks since some friends and I had lunch here, and we are still talking about the amazingly authentic and delicious food (soups, salads, pizzas, entrees, all of it was perfect!), but most memorable is Kerri our server. With a smile that lights up the room, her world class intuition made us feel right at home. My fiancé is a type 1 diabetic and my buddy had a bad cold. She made a special tea just for him and got him feeling right again. So sweet and thoughtful! She’s a great listener. We took all her recommendations. She knew just what we needed cause each one was spot on. Delicious! We’re so glad to have come to “The Pie” for lunch and shared time with Kerri. She’s at your service. She is the ambiance. The food is great and we have a new friend. This wasn’t great customer service. This was excellent people service. Thank you for sharing yourself with us Kerri! We hope to see you at church sometime :) (I hope your boss is reading this and gives you a Sunday or two to come hang out with us haha 😆)
My food reviews are subjective relating to the area the restaurant is in. This is one of the best pizzerias in the Stony Brook / Port Jefferson area. Excellent margherita pizza, good prices for lunch. But these are expected from any good pizzeria. They also had a delicious apple cobbler ice cream desert (picture posted) which was brought out by one of the chefs.
I think that the food was very very good. I love pizza and I have one more thing to say do you like Harry Potter for the owner of the place please answer me back do you like Harry Potter? ☺️😌💕❤️👍😘
Never a bad dish here. Everything is made fresh. This is not a grab a slice and a soda quick place though. You have to take time to enjoy the finer things in life. The shrimp pie is my favorite
Definitely the best pizza in the area. The shrimp pie, with a white garlic sauce, is especially good. It's always lively, kind of a hangout for high school kids. The beer selection is not terrific.
My family and I had lunch at The Pie today and we' we're very happy with the food and the very attentive service. We sat outside because we had two babies with us and despite the warm day the staff worked very hard to make us comfy.
I own a business across the the street from the pie for 17 years and “The Pie” is the best pizza restaurant in the country!! I travel all over the USA and have yet to find a place that comes close! The food is amazing the staff is incredible!!! A staple for anyone in Port Jefferson or anyone visiting Port Jefferson NY.
One of the best Margarita Pies around. Old school way of making in coal/wood fired oven. The sauce is very good and blackboard specials also. Enjoyable experience.
The Pie is really an excellent place to enjoy a nice meal with friends and family. I've been coming here since 2009 and I have never been disappointed. I am always greeted with prompt and friendly service and usually seated right away! The last time I went I got a house salad and BBQ pizza was delightful. The savory sweet tangy BBQ chicken glides across your pallet and when washed down with a crisp pinot griggio it makes for a complete culinary experience. Keep up the great work ! Until next time, -Steven Guarneri
First time here. Nice place, clean. Food came out good. If you get the mozzarella sticks, I'd eat them while they're hot otherwise the cheese won't be as good.
Been here several times and never disappointed! Great choices, pizza is awesomely delicious, staff is great. Coming back again and again! After pizza or pasta, get a cigar nearby, and take a walk through the village.
The food is always good and the pizzas are delicious. I prefer thin crusted pizza and not only do they have it but it’s tastes great. I don’t eat much pizza but I enjoy theirs. They also have really good salads.
A perfect Summer evening while dining under the outdoor tent on July 7th. Celebrated my birthday and once again enjoyed a wonderful meal at this Port Jefferson fixture. Due to Covid-19 they have placed tables under a tent in the back of the location and it works out perfect. Attentive and courteous staff made the evening all the more fulfilling.
Most delicious pizza in Suffolk County. A couple of dollars more than others places. But well worth it.
This place is absolutely incredible. Me and my fiancé were gonna do take out but the inside is so sophisticated that I wanted to eat inside. Best idea ever. The freshest food on the planet and the pizza is truly the best. Everything here is perfect down to the last detail. I hope this place gets reviewed by people like Gordon Ramsey because the whole country needs to know about this place and how good the food is here.
We stopped by The Pie for lunch on Friday and loved it so much we returned with friends for dinner on Saturday! Both meals were delicious--we enjoyed calamari, salad, pizza, and pasta, you really cannot go wrong! Besides the food and ambiance, what made our experience even more worthy than five stars both times was our server, Jenny. She was very efficient and kind; I know we only met her twice, but Jenny seems like she is one of those people who has a gift to just brighten the room and make you smile. On Saturday, the manager checked on our table and he was very pleasant as well. This was an overall exemplary dining experience!
I had a great first experience! On a Friday night there was a wait and the hostess clearly can see me and my group I was with were hungry and in a hurry and brought us out menus when our table was almost ready. So we ordered, sat down and our food was just about ready when we were in and it was fantastic! Greta food and great staff... I can't wait to go back
We had our Christmas Eve party catered at The Pie. From the help I received at pickup to the delicious food, it was perfect!! Everything was great. Even the house salad was exceptional. All my guests were raving about every dish throughout our meal. I can’t thank you enough….
My boyfriend and I have gone here twice so far and we absolutely love it here!! The place is beautiful and very cozy, the staff is amazing, (We love Kerri!! She is amazing!!!), and the food is delicious!!! We will definitely be coming back again very very soon!!!
The Pie is easily the best place to get pizza in Suffolk County. It is the closest thing to real Italian pizza in my opinion. I buy from here at least once a week and I live 20 minutes away. That should say it all.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. Our dishes & glasses were sparkling. Food was scrumptious! Service was excellent even though we were told they were short of help. Servers cleared our plates immediately after each course. We were so impressed, we asked for the manager to compliment it all. We were pleasantly surprised to meet with the owner. She was equally as awesome as her staff.
Amazing place! The ambiance is beautiful, food is great (penne vodka is sooo delicious), service is spot on! Our server Brett was so patient with our group - we had 4 toddlers who are a handful but he was attentive and helpful. We ordered the Cheese pizza, veggie pizza, two pasta dishes, a penne vodka for the kids and a few drinks - everything is just superb. Great experience overall!
I have always loved their house salad. There is none other like it. It is fresh, and the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Their dressing is great too. I added grilled chicken which was very good quality and deliciously seasoned. Little bit pricey in my opinion.
Spent a week in Brookhaven for work. This was the best place that we visited by far. They have a good Italian food selection, which all tasted great. The staff was attentive without being annoying. We had a table of 12 which they handled with ease. Would definitely recommend The Pie to anyone visiting.
Great service, great food! We came just as they were opening in the evening and were warmly greeted and taken to our booth. Our server (Jenn?) was super friendly, efficient and attentive. The garlic bread was light and airy with a crisp crust - delicious. Our party ordered the pizza, the shrimp capellini, and the capellini primavera … Fresh ingredients! Everyone enjoyed their dish. For dessert we had the: cookie dough blast and funnel sticks. And a freshly brewed coffee ( because the espresso maker wasn’t working). All delicious! I would love to return to try more of the menu.
I enjoy the pizza here. I am old school on pizza, though. I like the old fashioned oven. The coal fire puts a completely different take on the crust that while I don't mind it, I still like my super thin stainless steel onion thin pizza. That said, this is a great restaurant with good people working here.
The food was really good. I think i preferred my friends pasta more than my own pizza, but it still wasn't bad. It was very crowded when I went, but it was still enjoyable. Hint: if you're not from around here, parking is behind the restaurant at mill creek road parking lot which is sometimes metered and sometimes not, but idk where to find out which. But basically, allow a little extra time if youre meeting a party.
First time dining at the pie. Loud atmosphere and that was fine. Started with a small Margarita pie. Dined on Pasta with sausage and Broccoli Rabe. Great choice. They also had specials that sounded delicious as well. We will definitely be back.
I ordered for take out and the service was fast and friendly!! I loved the personal pie options. The margherita pie was delicious. I got an eggplant rollatini with penne and that was also delicious!!
This place never disappoints. The food is always so good. The pizza is made to perfection with just the right amount of crispy. Of course my all time favorite is the house salad. Oddly enough it’s one of the pies signature dish. You can always count on Kristin and her fabulous staff to bring the very best to your table. I’m a regular. Always have been for 20 years now and will continue to be. I encourage you to come and escape to a place with a christmas kind of feeling throughout the year. ❤️
Pizza is amazing, thin crust, generous toppings, coal fired. A small is big enough for one person. Tortellini soups was very tasty. Chicken Francese with pasta was good, but could have been a little more food for the cost. It was super busy, but the wait staff kept up very well with the bustle. Would definitely recommend if you have some time to sit down and eat.
Went with a bunch of family and friends for dinner after my nephews confirmation. Food was very good and the staff was also very accommodating. We were a large party and they took very good care of all of us.
Random choice to take a pizza back to our hotel room. And a winner! Staff was great to make sure we had plates and all, for take out. We saved two slices for the next day. Delicious. Will try to dine in next time as it looked like a great place to hang out!
We love it here! We can go and get pizza for my family that eats gluten, and I can get the fire roasted chicken gluten free! The root beer us also outstanding. Always feel welcome and the service is always so friendly. One of our favorite places down in Port Jeff!
We had a taste for coal fired pizza so we tried “The Pie”. The Margarita pie was delish…..the crust had a nice flavor, the sauce was delicious and the cheese was perfect. UPDATE on our 1st visit, the food was great but the service was lacking. Now we have been back over 5 times and have Uber’d 3 times. We’ve had the Marguerita, house meatballs, salads, fettuccine alfredo, and even beans and sausage with broccoli rabe. Our regular waitress is phenomenal. My husband insists that the meatballs are like mine; I disagree, I think they are better than mine. The sauce is delicious for both their food and also on the pies (2 different sauces). They are consistent …. what your order is always going to taste the same no matter how many times or when you order it! Added plus, now they have a full bar!
Been here a couple of times. Food is fantastic . The tomato blue cheese soup is out of this world.
We had an incredible dinner here. Everything from start to finish was perfect. The food was amazing, fresh, and full of flavor, and the desserts were truly next-level, the kind of indulgent, homemade perfection you dream about. A special shoutout to Rachel, our server, who made the entire experience exceptional. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly accommodating of my girlfriend's gluten-free diet, offering thoughtful suggestions and making sure every detail was just right. It’s rare to find someone who makes you feel both genuinely cared for and well taken care of in a busy restaurant. Rachel absolutely did. Between the delicious food, the charming atmosphere, and the outstanding service, The Pie of Port Jefferson has become one of my favorite spots on Long Island. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, decadent desserts, and exceptional hospitality!
The Pie is a must visit if you are looking for a cozy Italian place with amazing service and delicious food! My husband is gluten intolerant, and our server Rachel was so incredibly accommodating, making sure to ask clarifying questions and offer appropriate alternatives so that we both felt comfortable. She really made the lovely atmosphere even more fun, and I hope to visit both The Pie and Rachel again when we are back in town!
Food was very good with nice sized portions. Our meal was made even better by the outstanding service from Kerri. She friendly and attentive to our table, definitely will return.
Had it after coming across on the ferry. Great Woodford brick pizza, but they do not make their own pasta. Team service was excellent. Dessert was lackluster.
We visited today for lunch. We had a medium clam pizza. It was one of the best we've ever had. Service was very good too. We will return to try their other dishes.
We enjoy The Pie. It's atmosphere is casual cozy and family friendly. The food is good but the prices are a bit high. I recommend it and go here often, but it's a fancy pizza joint. You can not buy it by the slice.
Very good pizza. It is different from many pizza places on Long Island. A plain large pie is $23 ish, but the slices are small. The pizza is very fresh and flavorful. The crusts were a bit charred, though it didn’t make the pizza worse. I don’t recommend getting their dessert pie. It was very plain with just ice cream on top of a crust.
Been there twice now, for lunch and dinner. Food is very good, wait staff attentive, nice environment. My only complaint is that it is a loud place. Love kids but when they get too loud and noone controls them it takes away from the dining experience. Not restaurants fault but if you are sensitive to noise... I will go back though next time in town.
Really great tasting pizza
this restaurant is a wonderful place to sit an relax with pizza and a drink or beer. they serve a delicious salad which can be shared and the selection of pizza is varied and delicious including personal sized . you are able to watch the pizza being cooked in the brick ovens. they have also expanded their menu to include many entrees.
As usual, great food and staff. Restaurant could add to the country level of the patrons by removing one or 2 tables from the center area. It's is cramped looking and feels it even more so.
Good time went for dinner with the family cause it was my. birthday week
The food here is excellent and fairly priced. While I am a New Haven pizza guy, the pizza here is a close second. The ingredients and bake are great. The waitress we had was great. She was personable and took care of us in an expedient manner. It was great chatting with her.
This place was decent. We ordered apps and entrees. Risotto rice balls - good Mozzarella en Carozza - was NOT mozzarella in carozza, but more like fried fresh mozzarella. Good for what it was. Bruschetta - very good Coal fired Supreme Pizza - we ordered it with no olives. First one came out with olives, they redid it and gave the error to the employees, which I thought was nice. Pepperoni was too spicy for me, but I ate it anyway, because the pizza was EXCELLENT. Makes me wish I ordered a different one to bring home. Gnocchi with bolognese - was okay. Needed salt. Chicken rollatini - pretty good. Needed salt (most things did all around), but the flavor was there. One piece of chicken slightly burnt, but the other looked good. Lasagna - my sister said it tasted like there was something wrong with it. They took it off the bill and offered her something else. She opted for chicken francese. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how the chicken francese was, because while we were waiting for it to come out, they started mopping the place with bleach. It's good to know that they're taking covid precautions with bleach, but establishments should wait for the customers to leave before they do that. We asked the waiter to box up the francese because of the smell. If his own volition, he informed the manager what hearkened, and the manager was very nice and comped the francese, even though she didn't have to. All in all, I would recommend this place if only for their pizza. Their food was decent, but the pizza shouldn't be missed.
We ordered garlic aioli calamari which was just okay (lightly breaded which was good but the squid was too soft...) Which is the only reason for the 4 star. My party of 2 ordered a medium clam pizza (we were hoping to be experimental) and the waiter said we could do it half white half red pizza, which was a good choice because we were able to try both versions. The pizza was very good and a medium was more than enough for the two of us! Setting was cozy and family friendly. House wine was also good.
Great food choices including personal size pizza. Pasta firm and hot. A little pricey especially for what you get especially since they do not offer lunch specials. About as good as many local pizza and pasta places.
Very underwhelming. Got the small BBQ Style pizza and thought it tasted... Fine but for $16 I expect a much bigger portion. The small pizza was maybe 8" in diameter and had thin crust. I wouldn't pay more than $8 for a similar pizza anywhere else. Decor and atmosphere was nice and the service was pretty quick for myself and my fiance after 20min on a Friday night. Very average and underwhelming overall.
The pizza was good. I didn't like the atmosphere. The table for 4 was so tiny. We were somehow not to allowed to have a non-reserved booth table, but the worker gave it to the family of 3. I didn't get it..
Came here curious, left disappointed. Margherita pizza: 8/10. Thin crust, sauce was nice, but no fresh basil… which is like forgetting the lime in a margarita. Buffalo pizza: not even worth the calories. One bite and I was done. Wings: reheated vibes !I didn’t order leftovers, thanks. Calamari: soggy, not crispy. Service: meh, not attentive. Tried it once, checked the box, but never going back.
The food was good, and honestly, I would’ve come back—if it weren’t for the terrible service. When we arrived, our waitress didn’t greet us or even acknowledge us. She looked like she didn’t want to be there. Eventually, she came over to take our order, but someone else brought our food out. After that, she never checked on us—not once. No “How’s the food?” No offer for more drinks. Nothing. Once we finished eating, we waited 30 minutes just to get her attention for a to-go box. My husband ended up going inside to ask for the check. Honestly, we could’ve walked out without paying, and she wouldn’t have noticed. Eventually, someone came outside and told us she was dealing with “family problems,” but it didn’t seem genuine—especially since we saw her tending to other tables just fine. Disappointed. Great food, but the service ruined it.
When I saw the beautiful interior, the higher-end pricing, and the stonebrick oven, I was totally expecting a double or triple fermented Neapolitan pie. Nope. Not even close. Dough is as tasteless as any generic pizzeria. This was my first time deciding to try another pizzeria other than Colosseo a few minutes away. Colosseo dances circles around this place in taste, options, dough, everything really, and it does it for way, way less. Service was excellent, super friendly and fast. It's just that there's no way the quality of pies is justified by the price.
Pizza ok, but certainly not worth the price. Large pie with one topping, 2 chocolate milks, 2 unsweetened icea teas = 53.00 plus $10.00 tip= 63.00.. for a pizza and couple of drinks... total rip off.
Food was sub par. Not impressed at all.
I be honest. Not a fan at all. First the food took forever to come out. I had chicken Française and you could not even taste a bit of lemon. It was all salty chicken base. Will not go back. The pizza pies was ok. A bit in the uncooked side.
Beautiful place, unfortunately the food did not meet my expectations. Ordered the verde pizza. Tastless. Definitely missing something. For my little one I ordered chicken fingers and fries. Chicken tasted like absolutely nothing. No wonder why she didn’t eat it. French fries were good though. You would expect some bread/garlic knots while you wait, but did not receive any. Kind of weird.
Disappointed with the visit. It had such great reviews. The garlic bread, caesar salad and mozzarella sticks were good. The service was not and the pizza was abysmal. Not one of 4 children finished a slice and they are small slices. It is ridiculously over priced for the food they serve, Port Jefferson can be pricey but this seemed outrageously so, it is after all still just pizza. I would not go again.
I had a gift card for this pizzeria and good thing for that. The food is on the expensive side and was okay. They did forget 2 sides of sauce. And our pizza was cold. I live about 8 mins away, maybe 10 with traffic. I've ordered pizza from other pizzerias further than The Pie and it wasn't cold. And when I say cold, I mean to the point where we had to put it in the oven. So ty for the experience, however will not return.
The food is okay, good for fast food weak for restaurant quality. I’ve never been rushed out so fast. Order for drinks the minute we sat down, food delivered in less than 6 minutes asking if we wanted our food boxed 20 minutes in. Asked if we were okay 5 times. Ruined an anniversary dinner. Won’t come back, maybe will order takeout next time.
Started out with cold bread, butter was also still very cold as well and very hard to spread. I had penne ala vodka for my entrée with meatballs. Portion was very small for the price. Especially since 3 small meatballs were $12.95 extra...very bland tasting as well. Vodka sauce was good but missing prosciutto which the menu said it contained in the dish. I was not asked once for a refill on my drink. We all tipped very well no matter what but I figured I would give my honest review. This place was definitely better 12 years ago. Too pricey as well... Ragazzi has better taste, pricing, service, quantity and atmosphere. Just saying!
We ordered a large clam pie. Unfortunately the pie arrived at our table kinda soggy with too much oil and hardly any clams. Very disappointing - wanted to like this place as it’s very local and coal fired. Maybe worth another shot - not sure though.
do NOT order delivery from here. i was delivered a 100% burnt charcoal disc instead of pizza that also had hair in it. i called the store and showed them the "pizza", the owner then said the more burnt it is, the crispier, and quickly hung up the phone. i didnt know what to say. Had to throw out that carcinogen circle as it was inedible... No i was unable to get a new pizza nor a refund as I was straight up ignored
Really disappointing. $52 for two pizzas for my Birthday yesterday and they were Not delicious! I have had great pizza from The Pie but not anymore. Really sad but we will no longer be splurging for pizza at this place anymore.
7pm reservations. Came with 10 people. The waitress working our table refused to give us the dessert menu at 8:45pm. Stated restaurant is closing and refused to serve us dessert. Extremely unprofessional and have never experienced something like that in my life. Server’s name is Rachel. Extremely disappointed in this place. Updated - to the owner who wrote back mentioning that there was a miscommunication. Respectfully, there was no miscommunication. She refused to give the menu, made a face, and made it uncomfortable where all 10 of us looked at one another in disbelief. She did not want to give us a dessert menu and let’s be honest, what dessert would have taken time to make? A lava cake? Come on, no one was ordering that and she purposely wanted us to get out of the restaurant. Listen, it’s your business. Do what you like. You don’t need to justify anything to me. But, someone working there like this is going to drive customers away.
Never again...My family and I went on a Sunday and wldnt go back, the pizza was undercooked in the middle, the woman server was sarcastically rude with us, she necessarily had personnal issues. She even commented on my physical appearance, which you really can't do nowadays....
Came here because my kids said they liked the pizza. Ordered a lunch special and it came out cold. The food tasted stale/rancid from the oil being bad and you couldn't get away from it because everything is cooked in oil. The cups were dirty and the place is run down. After two small pies, 3 apps, and two lunch special we left there paying $120 (and one of the lunch specials were taken off). I would not go back and I wouldn't recommend it. Not worth the money or the pains in your stomach. This is not authentic Italian or good food especially for how expensive it is.
Disappointed and feeling ripped off. I ordered a take out cup of soup one week ago and it came in a pint size container. This week I ordered the same soup but the larger "bowl size" for $9.50. Expecting a larger size to arrive this time. It came in the exact same pint sized container. When I called the restaurant, I was told the size was correct but last time they accidentally filled it up too much. So really I got more last time and they are sorry if I am unsatisfied with that. I don't think my expectations were incorrect given my prior experience. Poor customer service in my opinion . I think they should have corrected the situation. Will certainly influence my decision to return here.
Walked in and was greeted by a tired looking unfriendly waitress who plopped menus down on a table and walked away. Was then ignored for 5 minutes and walked out without eating. Other places to spend my money in my hometown.
Use to be great but the price for a large pizza is insane being that it’s so thin. They should offer some specials once and awhile or even a coupon for buy 2 get 1 free.
We used to love this place, we would come here for special occasions but the last two times the food has been truly trash. They changed the Mac n cheese bites, they now serve them with a slice of what seems like craft singles melted on top calling it “spicy formaggio” (which is honestly comical). We ordered garlic knots, they came ice cold and rock hard, we had to ask for them to be heated up. The entrees were something you could get at a corner pizza spot and not at all worth the price. Server was nice though.
I ordered a delivery order, and the driver delivered to the wrong address even when I was telling her I do not see her in front of the house, she proceeded to deliver the order to the wrong address. I had called the restaurant for help and was not able to receive a refund or any help in regards to placing a new order. Once I called Uber and asked to merge the call with the restaurant, supervisor declined speaking with me. Do not order for delivery with their third party. Once I called Uber and asked to merge the call with the restaurant, supervisor declined speaking with me. How is it that they can't get a direct delivery service with their restaurant and not depend on Uber. They certainly lost a customer. Never again.
NEVER AGAIN will I be ordering here. It’s over priced. Don’t waste your time here. I spent $200 on a Mother’s Day dinner tonight for my family, only to receive broken mussel shells all in my pasta. I quite literally choked about 3 times before I had to throw the entire dish out. EVERY BITE HAD BROKEN SHELLS IN IT. ALL OF THE SEAFOOD TASTED LIKE RUBBER. The chicken francese was dry & chewy and the penne was undercooked. Also this is the first time I’ve ordered from an Italian restaurant & didn’t receive any complimentary bread with our food. Extremely disappointed & dissatisfied with our meal. *Edit* one of my guests just vomited from the seafood. 😑
