Beautiful building housing wonderful staff and delicious food!! Drinks were awesome. Food was incredible (shout out to the cauliflower app!!!). Jason our waiter was fabulous! Will definitely be back!
It was our first time there celebrating my husband's birthday. Great choice because the food and atmosphere was great as well as the beers. Our waitress was awesome and even a waiter that wasn't assigned our table was nice and helped out. Will definitely be coming back. P.S. thank you for the birthday desert 🎂
Excellent atmosphere, excellent service, excellent food and beer. Would definitely come here again.
The food is great. The staff is very friendly. I literally sat at the bar and chatted with a bunch of them after the civic center rush ended. The atmosphere is amazing, which explains the $25 burger. That said, I only wish they weren't $25. I didn't see it, but I understand it.
My husband recommended this place because he was there the night before and loved the fish and chips. This night we ordered the bang bang cauliflower, salmon on mixed greens salad and salmon dinner. We had no complaints on our meal. The bang bang cauliflower was OUTSTANDING. The staff was extremely friendly and fun. Food came out quick. The staff was attentive although it was late in the evening. I would come back.
It's true... the chicken and waffles are very good. The spices in the chicken breading is to die for... not the normal southern fried. Waffle has a sriracha maple syrup which is a definite complement. The special bacon egg and cheese pizza with spices from an everything bagel. Excellent. Also. The mimosa flight had a good combo of flavors and very yummy. Service was excellent and the manager even came by to check on us.
My husband and I wanted a small intimate wedding. However, my family alone made the intimate part a little bit more difficult. Danielle and her staff made our beautiful, intimate day super special! We are so grateful! They went above and beyond to accommodate my food restrictions as I have celiac, and I’m not able to consume any gluten. The food was delicious and I believe everyone had a great time! There’s so much more we want to say , but with all honesty, they’re awesome and I highly recommend them!
Our family chose Mill House Brewing while vacationing in the area. IN SHORT, ONE OF THE BEST CULINARY EXPERIENCES WE'VE EVER HAD! The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. Our server, Barnett, was fantastic. To start, we ordered flights for the adults (wide variety of great beers), and Barnett was kind enough to order "mocktails" for our teens. The appetizers were delicious (see pictures). The entrees were on par with ANY high end restaurant in NYC. We all thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Mill House Brewing. See pictures if you want to make yourself hungry!
This was our 4th visit here. Try to go every time we are in town Our server Rachel was very accommodating... offering good advice on beer, allowing us to sample! And food suggestions when I was indecisive... both times Rachel was spot on! Today's special frozen blood orange margarita was a refreshing delicious treat! The pierogies were their usual fabulousness! And the hot honey chicken on a fresh baked biscuit was awesome!
I hosted an event at MHBC for about 20 guests in the third floor and it was FANTASTIC. Food, drinks and desserts were delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Danielle and her team were a joy to work with. We absolutely will host again!
Fantastic place! Great ambience, parking food, drinks and staff-- the whole package. Would highly recommend. We stopped in after hiking at Minnewaska and couldn't have been happier. Our server, B, was super attentive and had great nuanced recommendations. The Buffalo Brussel sprouts were awesome. I did a tasting flight and have to say that all 5 were above average. The Zoe Belgium and raspberry gose were exceptional. Will definitely visit again.
Mill House always keeps it interesting. They put fun twists on classic American Bar food. One of my favorites is their bang bang cauliflower appetizer. My mom loves the fig and "pig" pizza. This time around, I ordered their chicken sandwich and it did not disappoint. I also tried a fruit beer which was tangy and tasty. They also have delicious desserts like the Twix cake and a banana tiramisu. If you're not comfortable dining indoors, they have plenty of outdoor space and they also have private party rooms upstairs. If you're in Poughkeepsie, don't pass them up!
“Amazing food, great service, and an awesome atmosphere. Everything came out fresh and full of flavor. One of the best spots in the Hudson Valley. Highly recommend—easy 5-star experience!”
Had a great dinner here while visiting Poughkeepsie!, good atmosphere, went for a Fish & Chips, as a Newfoundlander when i read that it was Atlantic Cod right on the menu i had to give it a try and it was great, had a couple in house Beers and they were Great!
Back again June8,2019. Stopped in early and avoided the evening rush. Same great food, beer and service! April 11, 2018. Love this place! Excellent in-house beer selection. We've been there multiple times and don't tire of the atmosphere or the food. Kendall took good care of us with patient and attentive care. Try the deep fried buffalo Brussel Sprouts. Unique and delicious. Very casual atmosphere. Good menu selections.
This was a wonderful place to have my daughter and son in laws welcome party. Danielle was incredible. She was communicative and transparent and her staff was great! The food was delicious too.
This place has been one of my favorites for many years now. It used to be a place that I would go to for special occasions only, but it’s become a frequent spot for date nights. Last time I went I ordered the bruschetta and I would go just to have this bruschetta again. it was hands-down the best appetizer I’ve had in a while! Besides that the bang bang cauliflower is also superb, both of those appetizers are going to be staples for any trip I’m making in the future. As for entrées, anything I’ve gotten in the past has been out of this world, but I highly recommend the gnocchi. I’m not the biggest fan of beer and even though this is a brewery, they have some amazing cocktails! Definitely something here for everyone.
Loved the place. Great experience for an evening. Bang bang Cauliflower was the best. Fish tacos needed a bit seasoning. Beer selection was great.
The mushroom risotto was creamy and had the right amount of salt and earthy flavors. We also had the fig and pig pizza that had balsamic dressing. Delicious and only suggestion is to add more balsamic. The beer selection was great and had a vast selection of bourbon and other cocktails choices. Definitely will stop again if we are in poughkeepsie!
It was my first time here, and we had the bang bang cauliflower and the pretzel bites to start, and both were great. I also had the Honey Butter Chicken & Biscuit Sando and other than the biscuit crumbling (as flaky biscuits do) it was also yummy. A small ding to the rating due to us a couple of times not getting attention, but it was a very busy Monday.
We had a wonderful time at Mill Street Brewing. Our server Kiana was delightful. She was attentive, timely, and cheerful. I had their delicious wings and cornbread and my husband enjoyed his fish and chips. He was able to sample both beers before deciding which one he wanted. I had a Malibu Bay Breeze (with a different name brand rum) which I greatly enjoyed. Overall, we look forward to eating here again!
Awesome lunch. Smoked wings were fantastic. Beer flight was picked by my server and on point. Poutine fries were also delish. Kids were happy with their chicken fingers and my wife loved the Chinese salad. Beer was so good I picked up 5 4 packs to go! Excellent service. The AC was on full blast so bring a sweatshirt if you want.
Millhouse Brewing Company is a standout spot for craft beer lovers in Poughkeepsie. The brewery has a warm, welcoming vibe that makes it perfect for casual hangouts with friends or trying something new. Their beer selection is creative and well-crafted, with a rotating lineup that keeps things interesting for both regulars and newcomers. The space itself is comfortable and inviting, with plenty of room to relax, enjoy a pint, and take in the atmosphere. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, happy to guide you through their offerings and suggest something that fits your taste. Whether you’re a craft beer enthusiast or just looking for a fun, laid-back spot to enjoy quality brews, Millhouse Brewing Company is definitely worth a visit.
Visited in Feb 2025 Made a stop at Mill House for lunch during our trip to upstate NY. Had a few food items and tried their beers. I tried the beer flight where you can choose 5 beers from their menu and that is the best way to taste the different beers of the brewery. Also the cheese cake was fantastic - so would definitely recommend trying that for dessert. Service is really good here too. Would definitely recommend a visit to Mill House if you’re in Poughkeepsie.
Me and the wife finally decided to get a bite and down some drinks. This place is definitely on my favorites list.We tasted about 8 different beers and had the Bang Bang cauliflower which was excellent Im not a cauliflower kind of guy but glad we ordered it. We will definitely be back but next with some friends.
We stopped in here for dinner and it was very busy. The atmosphere is that it is a little dark inside at some of the tables and can get a bit loud. I ordered the Peach & Goat Cheese Salad with Grilled Chicken (I don't recall if the chicken came with it or I added it for additional charge). It was very delicious and unique as I have not seen this kind of salad option at other restaurants. I loved it!!! Highly recommended! My husband got the Salmon entree, and he enjoyed it as well. My salad portion was more than enough for me, but my husband Salmon wasn't a big enough portion to fill him up. We would definitely return to this restaurant if we were in the area again.
We stopped at the bar to have a beer and bite before an event upstairs. We had great shoestring fries and deviled eggs and a couple of beers. Alexa was very professional and friendly and offered us beer sample tastes before we made our decision. Everything was excellent. Service and food and ambiance.
Located in downtown POK, this brewery offers several proprietary microbrews, including one infused with cucumbers (worth trying!). The waitstaff is friendly and efficient. Desserts look delicious. In January 2024, Diane Sare appeared here to meet supporters during her campaign for U.S. Senate.
Nicole was a waitress, she was excellent. Her positive vibes were just what we needed on a stormy Saturday night. We brought friends from CT with us and we were all in agreement that the service was stellar and food was absolutely fantastic. Compliments to the chef. Highly recommend going to Mill House Brewing Company. Easy to use on line reservations. Staff is friendly. Atmosphere is great
This place has it all! A rustic, but classy atmosphere, deliciously upscale foods, and an incredibly kind staff! I could go on and on! Their parking is a bit tight and I suggest a reservation, because they were generous enough to squeeze us in! Thankfully we were able to enjoy this place and going forward this is a return to restaurant while in the Poughkeepsie area. The champagne flight had the best black cherry mixed drink I’ve ever had! The pizza was so authentic like a brick oven taste. Their bbq sauce and fries are phenomenal! The beer choices are excellent!
This is our new favorite brunch spot! With great ambiance and a laid back feel, we definitely did not know exactly what we were missing! Best picks: Everything!!!! Mimosa flights, bacon deviled eggs, chicken & waffles, KO wings, Buffalo fried Brussel sprouts, and the ultimate brekkie sandwich. Our portions were adequate if not substantial, and the flavor profiles were amazing! Bella is SIMPLY THE BEST WAITRESS and our kids loved her! Ask to be sat in her section and tell her Daisy sent ya!
I rented out the loft room, the top floor of the restaurant. The food was great. The staff were absolutely amazing. And Danielle the event coordinator was on point with everything that I had asked for for the event. Staff were super friendly everything came out on time and everybody enjoyed the party. I highly recommend this restaurant/venue for any type of gathering you have for special events.
Excellent atmosphere, beer, and food. Buffalo fried Brussels sprouts were delicious, and the fish tacos were excellent. We loved the sour and cucumber beers. The bar provides an awesome ambiance for a low-key gathering with groups, and there are plenty of more formal dining room options too. Worth a visit - or several!
I wish I can give this place 10 stars!! From the moment you walk in to the minute you leave the service is impeccable! They greeted us right away, sat us according to our reservations, our waiter was great with recommendations and patient with those in our party that took a little longer to decide. The food was simply delicious and the dessert was even better. Definitely recommend.
This place has a low-key, chill vibe with its dimly lit dining area, exposed beams and curved back booths. Our server, Nicole was very informative and helpful in selecting brews to sample and take home to enjoy later. We ordered Grandma's Pepperoni pizza, spicy pepperoni and punchy garlic on a thin crust was just what we needed as we were exhausted from our road trip and on our way back home.
Perfect place for dinner and a beverage! Great ambiance and they were so friendly with our toddler! Even when he knocked a glass of water down they were so friendly! Great spot after a busy day! Brisket sandwich was perfect and great fries! Got a flight of beers and each one was so unique.
The service was great. We're greeted and sat right away. All food choices were outstanding. Fish and chips, brisket sandwich (very tender) and the french dip was perfect. I think the prices were fair and the portions, just right. The restaurant has a relaxed and cool vibe. Overall, I would highly recommend stopping in, good selection of beer as well.
Mill House Brewing Company was fantastic and I can't wait to go back. Parking is a bit of a weird situation because the brewery itself has a small parking lot, but it's connected to the lot for the church next door and we parked there without incident. Inside, the dining room was very nicely decorated for the winter and the hostess was able to accommodate our group of 2 without a wait. It was a cozy little refuge from the cold and ice outside. I appreciated their curated flights -- we each got one with our meal and they did a good job putting together beers that work well with each other. It was obvious that the brewers were talented and took their craft seriously, each beverage was thoughtfully compose and paired well with our meals. We ate fish and chips and a buffalo chicken salad, which were very tasty. Our server was friendly and attentive as well. It was a little bit pricier than some restaurants -- two flights, a salad and fish and chips came out to $100 then we added a well-earned tip on top of it. It was worth the money and we'll certainly be back, I guess everything is just a little more expensive these days so be aware of that. The location was great too and a not-insignificant reason why we gave this place a try. It's a very easy, quick walk to the McCann Ice Rink if you're looking for a place to grab a drink and a bite before watching a hockey game.
We go to Milhouse regularly for dinner, which is always great! However, we tried their brunch this last weekend and it was phenomenal! A little pricey but I think the best brunch I've ever had. The Cornbread Eggs Benedict was top notch, great blend of sweet and savory. Big fan!
We stopped here for lunch and were highly impressed by the meal and service. This rustic chic restaurant incorporates the brick and steel charm into a warm, welcoming restaurant. They have their own parking lot for guests and a public garage is across the street just in case. While it is a restaurant, it's also a brewery and they have their own separate menu for their concoctions. Although there's no designated gluten-free menu, our server, Kiona (I apologize if I'm spelling your name incorrectly) was able to assist pointing out options. When I informed her of my other dietary restrictions, she was able to alert the kitchen so they made a special pan-seared salmon with greens. It was extremely kind of them and the level of thoroughness to make sure I could eat there was outstanding. My husband ordered the Cowboy burger and was blown away from the first bite. Before leaving, we took a look at their to-go cooler of beer and grabbed a bottle and a small souvenir. I highly recommend having a bite and a drink at this restaurant and brewery. If we're in the area again, we would absolutely stop by again.
My wife, our son, and I went to the MHBC for dinner for my birthday when we were up in the Hudson Valley. We aren't big beer drinkers but thought the menu looked great. My wife got the Pear Pressure and loved it. We got the fried calamari salad to start and the fried buffalo Brussel sprouts. The salad was great and the Brussel sprouts were awesome with the blue cheese aioli. My wife got the bistro steak and loved it and I got the fish and chips with the Belgian fried. The fish was great but the chips could have been crispier. For dessert we got the brown sugar butter cake and man was that out of this world. I would recommend a reservation because we saw countless people being turned away on a Saturday night or given an ETA of 1.5+ hour wait.
I got the Nashville hot chicken salad: feta cheese, pickles, and blue cheese dressing. It might not sound like much, but it was incredibly good. Washed it down with a Mexican lager at the bar. The bartenders were super nice and the vibe was solid. Great place. If I lived here, I’d definitely be a regular.
Incredible for a wedding rehearsal dinner!! I was shopping around at different restaurants in the area for where to hold our rehearsal - and nothing beat Mill House deal/value. What they offered was perfect, and we paid for an extra hour on top of our reserved room to hold ‘Welcome Drinks’ at the spot. It worked out perfectly! And the food is obviously amazing. We even had a pizza display added on for the guests at the Welcome Drinks and it was super fairly priced. Their bartenders, hostess, and servers that ran our event were incredible too! Thank you!
Came here while on vacation with our dog. Food and service where awesome. We were seated in the patio area near the front door. Servers were super friendly to our pup. We started with two Manhattans with Luxardo cherries, vwhich were very good and they brought out water for our pup. We ordered the fig and gorgonzola flatbread which was delicious and the fish tacos which were good but not exceptional. They asked if we wanted something for our pup and suggested an unseasoned burger which we ordered. It wasn't on the menu. It got two paws up. We would definitely come back here with our without a dog but know it is extremely dog friendly.
Came here for my brother’s family weekend at Marist and we absolutely loved it. I got the French dip sandwich it was great, other orders in our group were the honey butter chicken biscuit sandwich and Nashville hot chicken salad. We all loved our meals so much and the fries were great. Get the French dip sandwich, it came on and homemade French sub roll, awesome stuff. Finished the meal with a snickerdoodle white chocolate cookie skillet which was great too. Quality and quick service on a busy night too. Definitely give this place a try!
I always hope to find that one restaurant on vacation that I will think of for a long time to come. This was it! Really beautiful inside. Nice and cool during the heat wave. Sat at the bar. Great drinks and beers. Bartenders were fabulous and know the menu! Trust their recommendations. Food was fast and incredibly delicious.
One of the top 3 brew hubs Ive ever been to. The burgers were delicious with a beautiful look including the top engraving, bacon jam sauce which added a nice sweetness, juicy flavourful meat, and thin yummy fries. The truffle pasta was extremely good and lasted me two days. The flavours were extruvinating. Atmosphere and service both great.
To give this establishment 5 stars would be a drastic understatement. While visiting the area from upstate, my girlfriend and I unexpectedly stopped in for lunch. We were greeted with a smile and sat immediately. Our server was attentive and on point during the entire visit. The food was amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to have a good meal and enjoy a great atmosphere. It appears they also have a private area upstairs for events, which only adds to the value. I’m sure the night life here is very enjoyable! Would definitely visit again if I am in the area.

We always have a great time when we go to MHBC! Our go to is to get a few appetizers and small beers from their abundant menu, and everything is usually stellar. We’ve had the pierogi, pretzel bites, gyro sliders, pickle chips, and for mains, the Nashville Hot Chicken Salad (a stunner!!!) and the chicken sandwich (also tasty, but boy does that biscuit crumble). The beer is good, too, I’d recommend the raspberry or blueberry blessing (or the cucumber if you’re up for something refreshing and unique). Prices are a little high and service can be slow, but overall a quality restaurant that we will be back to soon.
This is a great place for a beer and a bite to eat in downtown Poughkeepsie . We were doing just beers tonight but have eaten here in the past. Highly recommend.
What a find! You would not expect to see a restaurant and brewery of this magnitude tucked away off the main road. Out of the 5 beers I sampled, none were bad. But my favorite was the velvet panda and kold one. Now onto the food, the ko wings were Smokey bbq goodness maybe just a little salty. The chicken bacon ranch was a winner at our table, perfect amount of ranch dressing and crunch/chew to the pizza. I ordered the “no substitutions” burger, devoured it all. My wife ordered the fish and chips, huge piece of fish, devoured. I recommend getting the shoe string fries, more crunch. Only negative was, I wish the brewery was more open for the public to see or maybe offered a tour. It felt more like restaurant then brewery.
I have to say, this was an excellent place. We did not eat but the drinks and waitstaff were excellent. Our waiter was Heriberto (?) and he was GREAT. They let us bring our son up to the roof deck which was amazing, and the drinks were good. It’s a busy place with a large restaurant feel. Very nice and will definitely come back
Went for a dinner with friends during the pandemic period on a Friday. Despite having a reservation we were made to wait for a fair bit which is understandable considering the lower capacity seating in place during Covid times but still annoying. The server was very engaging and happily provided genuine inputs when asked regarding menu items. They highly advocated for the award winning 50-50 burger which was a big let down unfortunately. Big fan of the pickles in fried dough from the appetizers. As expected for a brewery the beer flight was on point as well.
Great beer selection, the foods were superb. The restaurant gets pretty busy so make reservation ahead. We could have terrible time there but shot out to the manager Jeremy who showed the best customer service. He took care of us so well to fix the issue and the foods made us forgetting everything.
Professional and attentive service, very spacious place. The best part is that they have outdoor seating - on the ground and also on the second floor. Mussels were not the greatest- they lacked meat and the beer and cheese soup was too salty for my taste. Wood roasted beets and burrata was delicious. Overall, nice restaurant to go to for dinner if you are in the area.
Typical brewery experience. The food, service and atmosphere is above average. We had the bang bang cauliflower, lamb gyros, chicken sandwich and hot Nashville chicken salad and they were very good and would recommend them all. The cookie and ice cream dessert also was delicious. We were looking for a place close to Marist and I think we found it.
I dine out a lot of places often in many cities. Mill House Brewing was fine. There are just so many choices out there that I’m not sure I’ll be running back anytime soon. I’ve been there in the past & have sat at or in the bar area which would have earned 5 stars. The difference may have been that it was a holiday week? The food was just ok this trip. someone told us they have the best burger. This one wasn’t anything to brag about and the cook temp was off. The salad was really good though. The server we had back in July was awkward and made really weird jokes. The booth seating was a little weird too. It’s like they tried to maximize earning and fit one too many booths in the space they had. It was a bit uncomfortable. The drinks were the best part of our dinner dining experience there that night.

Enjoyable dinner with tasty food and attentive service. The menu had nice variety, and the setting was comfortable. A few small details could be improved, but overall, I left feeling satisfied.
Nice bar and restaurant with cozy and casual feel. Sat at the bar and got excellent service with very friendly employees. \n\nFood was pretty good and prices were fair. Definitely worth a trip back.
Three floors of good service and pleasant atmosphere. Great place for brunch. Centrally located in Poughkeepsie.

Stopped by this place to check it out, very busy and crowded, popular spot in the area! I tried their fruity beer flight which were just ok, got an order of truffle shoe string fries too and mussels that were skippable. Overall not really impressed by the experience here. Friendly staff though!
I’m disappointed to be leaving this review. I’ve always loved Mill House. I frequent this place and have given them a lot of business over the years. It’s rare I’ve had a disappointing meal (though it’s happened once of twice). I know Mill House doesn’t have an elevator. It’s the reason my bridal shower couldn’t be held there and the reason we call when we make reservations that include a family member that cannot walk up stairs or handle a high-top table. But I was very disappointed today when we called to make a reservation for Oktoberfest, which is advertised to be taking place on the third floor. We hoped that Mill House would be willing to provide an ADA accommodation on the first floor since a member of our party would not be able to reach the third floor, and we were told no! I have been to events at Mill House before and understand that these special events are an “experience” more than just the food, however, no accommodation could be provided for someone who really wanted to attend? So disappointing.
Came here for brunch for a double date, during limited dine in service. We made a reservation online, but there were plenty of tables that you were most likely be able to grab a table at your leisure. We finally came here after seeing their lucrative Instagram posts and reading the mixed reviews. The food was good. I ordered the French omelette, other ordered the breakfast bowl, burrito and Italian Stallion Omlette. For the prices of these meals, it left us feeling unsatisfied. I cannot lie, the food tasted good, but didn’t really seem worth the higher prices. This is coming from people who have gone to quite a few breweries. My partner and a friend were still hungry after their meals that they ordered the wings. Two of the three meals that had toast, didn’t get butter on their plates. And not to say we are heathens, but no hot sauce or ketchup was offered, nor did the waiter come by to ask. I understand that food is usually marked up, but quite honestly, some menu changes should be made. Make the menu smaller, make the prices a little more reasonable, and give good portions. I get food service/hospitality. Their drinks? Pretty damn good. It is a brewery. The mimosa flight was pretty good. I will have to say the strawberry and raspberry was the best. The blueberry and blackberry were okay, and the cherry tasted like a children’s cough syrup. If a food place is gonna have pretty pictures on their social media, live up to the hype. If we are in the area again, maybe we would try their dinner menu vs their brunch.
Please, please tighten your quality control. Your beer is incredible. I still remember the times me and my father would sit at the bar and enjoy a good ole' Hubar. This is the second 4-Pack that I purchased where right out of the gate, you know something is wrong...the Oktoberfest was sour...the Vienna Lager was yeasty and flat. Really guys? You're better than this. I'm not a brewer nor am I an expert, but I know a bad beer when I taste one. Please, take this as feedback- NOT criticism. Sincerely, Justin
Our dinner there on the first night of Steakhouse Menu left us wondering if we’d return. This review is mixed with some things that could use improvement & some things that should not change. The restaurant was not busy at 6p on New Year’s Eve but the wait time for our waiter to greet us was a good ten minutes (minus one star). My boyfriend enjoyed the beer on tap. Flights were not offered when we asked about them. I was not able to change/delete or upgrade the french fries on my $26.00 cheeseburger (minus one star). Both of these could be improved on by adding flights & allowing substitute for fries on steakhouse night . Now for the food. The onion soup was phenomenal. Our Cheeseburgers were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was okay; a little noisy (four tables of 3 to four people seated at each table and four waiters ; two of which were just standing around) & the dining room was dark in my opinion as we couldn’t read the menus without using the flashlights on our phone. Maybe the regular menu Monday thru Saturday would be a better option for us to try.
Holy salt. Everything felt over salted. We got the buffalo shrimp appetizer, first off for 20$ and only 6 shrimps, it felt expensive, secondly it was so salty. If you got past the salt, it was just ok. Nothing special breaded shrimp with a dab of buffalo sauce on it. The lettuce it sat on was good, I guess there was that. Also got the dip sandwich, it was fine, the bread wa s the wrong texture, to soft for a dip, the bread got instantly soggy when you dipped. I prefer a crustier bread, the meat in the sandwich was good though. Fries were salty too, but I kind of expected fries to be salty. I left feeling out salted and felt like it was a bit expensive for the area. The service was fine. Overall not worth it.
Mill House has a really fun and lively atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and it’s a nice place to grab a drink. I had high hopes for the food after seeing a lot of great reviews and their menu that was filled with a lot of great options. We got the bang bang cauliflower, chicken cordon blue, and pressed turkey sandwich(turkey is pressed really thin, not the sandwich). It took probably 20 mins to get the cauliflower and another 30-40 to get the mains. The food was fine, it was a bit too salty and nothing great. It was a little gross watching waiters walk around with their fingers touching the food, or handing plates filled with food to other staff to bring to tables after we had just watched the same employee sweeping the floors and picking up garbage and then touching meals without washing hands. It was also really hard to get our waiter’s attention. Ultimately, I’d maybe come back for a drink, but this isn’t a great meal option for me, over rated and over priced for the quality.
Was there on a Saturday night for a 7:15 res. Parking was a bit challenging but then again it was prime time on a Saturday evening. Atmosphere was good. Place was crowded but it didn’t feel overwhelming and had a good vibe. Service was friendly and prompt. The food IMO was good bar food but overpriced for what we had. I had the Blue-Bacon-Mushroom burger which was overcooked from what I asked for. In terms of beer, I had the Zoe which I really enjoyed.
Mix experience, great atmosphere and nice decor. Our food was under seasoned, I ordered the New York strip it was a good cut of beef but unfortunately under seasoned, my wife got the fish and chips which was huge plate of fries and a under seasoned piece of fish. The best dish we had there was the kids meal which was the chicken tenders and fries. They also have great selection of beers.
I stopped by Mill House Brewery after a hike, and the place has a very rustic and welcoming vibe. The food was great! I started with a side of shoestring fries (not really shoestring? More like thin cut fries), which were perfectly crispy and crunchy. I also ordered the fried calamari salad and it was delicious!!! Fresh, flavorful, and the sriracha ranch dressing tied everything together so well. Unfortunately, towards the end of my salad, I found a large fly in the salad. It was attempting to fly away. It wasn’t just sitting there—it was covered in dressing, which made it clear it had been there the whole time. Definitely disappointing and pretty gross. When I brought it to the server’s attention, he immediately got the manager. While the salad was taken off the bill, I didn’t appreciate the manager suggesting/insinuated the fly might have flown in afterward. That wasn’t the case and it came across as dismissive. That said, the food really was delicious, and I wouldn’t let this one incident deter me from coming back. I just hope management handles situations like this with more accountability moving forward.
I used to love this place, but seems like their food just not as good as it used to be. I missed their fig and pig pizza, it used to be fig and prosciutto now it’s still call fig and “pig” but now the “pig” part is duck bacon. Still tasty just different. Buffalo wings not as hot as I remember. The fish tacos is missing sauce and kinda tasteless but at least they used cod for fish tacos so still ok. The braised pork belly is a little tough and a bit dry, the cabbage that came with it, it’s good. Overall, I think they are still ok. They do brewed their own beer so that’s a plus.
We were driving through and found this place, not busy for a Sat. Seated quickly and pleasant atmosphere. I had fish tacos ( on the appetizer menu)and husband had the French dip and Beer flight. Food was good and he enjoyed the beer. I found the cost of our food expensive for what we got. The waitress was very polite.
I used to go here a lot with my ex on our motorcycle. The food I thought was amazing. I went the other day with a friend because I hadn't been in so long. Food was mediocre. The atmosphere was nice though. The place is beautiful. And our Waiter was very attentive!! I was just very disappointed in the food. I ordered in Manhattan and it did not taste like Manhattan. It just tasted like bourbon with a splash of cherry juice. It might have been a bad night for the chef. I would go back and try it again. Yes, I remember how good it used to be. I had sausage. My friend had a spicy chicken salad. He said it was pretty good. The dessert was very good
We got the french onion burger and the pumpkin brown sugar butter cake. We tried to get the daily special pizza but we were originally given a completely different pizza and then told that we were given the wing menu. So we just got a second burger, but it didn't come out until well after the first burger was finished. They did offer us a free desert but this was just a completely awkward dining experience. The food was fantastic, both the burgers and dessert were very tasty and we would recommend but because of the lack of organization I am hesitant to recommend this place to others, who knows what they are going to get.

Got there at 4:30pm and it wasn’t crowded. However, the service was still very slow. Finally got the appetizers and they were okay, the wings were good. However, my $25 burger was cold and I could barely eat it. The fries were super salty and cold as well. It wasn’t just mine everyone food was cold. Won’t ever go again.
My only issue is the food. It is really bad, like in a surprising way. We were with a large group recently, I got the wings and my wife got calamari salad. The dressing on the calamari salad was just olive oil...maybe it was 2% vinegar, but really just oil. The wings though were actually unsalvageable. I asked for them extra crispy, but they arrived amphibious. Low quality chicken and low quality sauce. Sorry to be harsh, but I feel bad about spending money on your food. Wings and salad—bar food staples—no one should have to worry that they'll be below average. You really need to reevaluate your menu, I think you could easily improve it. Nor were we the only disappointed ones; everyone in our group felt like the food was just okay.
This place has been consistently going downhill over the last few years. I went there today and a 12 oz beer was $11. I ordered Shrimp Andouille Etoufee which was $30. There were a total of three s…
My family was meeting in town for an event at Vassar College. It was a rare and special weekend together. We went to Mill House based on a recommendation. It was such a disappointment I am spending precious time to leave this review tonight. Four out of six members of my family were seated early. The four could order drinks but were unable to order ANY food until my sister and I arrived. They sat there for 30 minutes with no Apps. as we looked for parking. Our passion is dining all over the country and beyond. This is the first time this has happened. Steve was our server who was less than concerned about our experience. Not friendly at all. We were told all food had to go in at once because of how the software worked. Is that really what you tell customers who are spending hundreds of dollars for dinner? The food overall was too pricey to be average. I will say the ravioli was delicious but too cool. It came out last so I assume it was sitting in the kitchen. I ordered a drink around the time Steve asked about desserts. I guess the system can handle desserts separately. We said no to desserts and Steve brings the check without my drink. I said I didn’t get my drink and he said “You’re right you didn’t.” I was rendered speechless. We had been nothing but nice to him. It was shockingly rude. He also failed to mention the tip was included which we fortunately noticed. It saved us 10% as we generally tip around 30% as former servers. However, tonight I would ‘t have. It’s common it is added for larger parties but he should have mentioned it. You will never see us there again. Unfortunately one of our two precious dinners together had to be such a poor experience. Not a customer focused restaurant at all.
