Enjoyed every part of this restaurant from start to finish. Greeted warmly upon entering, and not too busy for a Thursday at lunch. Seated promptly out on the patio, which overlooks the golf course and amazing mountain range. Server was kind and attentive. Food came out in order (app then main), hot and ready to go. The hummus with flatbread was OK, I was hoping for a bit more of the lemon to make its presence felt. A solid starter, good for 2 people to share. I ordered the Pastrami Reuben and it was lovely! Great flavor to the pastrami, awesome marble rye bread, very nicely put together. The side salad had a white vinaigrette that is absolutely AWESOME! When I go back, that will be a feature of my salads every time. Very pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere, and I will certainly return many times for lunch or dinner. Golfers who play here, make sure you stop in after your round!
Our family has enjoyed The Grille for both breakfast and dinner. Great food, drinks, kids items, views, & friendly staff.
Great evening with friends ! The staff were very friendly and helpful!
Great restaurant beautiful view even when when you're sitting inside will be going there again🥩🥞😊
Nice spot to grab a meal.
The new chicken tortilla lime soup is my new favorite! Black beans and corn make it so hearty. The waitress recommended that I get the chili toppings to put in the soup - good call!
This restaurant has gotten a lot better in the last month or two. They have much improved the quality of their dinner offerings. We started out with a very tasty clam chowder. Two friends got the lobster thermidor special which they said was excellent. My wife got the ahi fish which was equally great. I had the New York steak topped with blue cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. Also good. And of course you can't beat the amazing views of Western Reno from this restaurant location.
I had the pleasure of dining here recently, and it was hands down the best meal I’ve had at a restaurant in months. Their chili is out of this world – truly the best I’ve ever tasted! It’s packed with flavor and has a perfect balance of spices. I also ordered a salad, which was fresh and delicious, and I love that they offer half-size portions for those who want a lighter option. The service was excellent, attentive, and friendly, making the entire experience even better. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for fantastic food and top-notch service! .
Stopped in on a wim after checking out the website menu. So happy we did. Staff is nice, friendly and helpful. We were able to watch the hockey game. Sat inside because of this. The outside seating has great views out to Hidden Valley.
My friend and I had lunch today at the Grille at Somersett. I had the Somersett Club and she had Chili and the Somersett Salad. My club sandwich was delicious. My friend said, "that was the best chili I have ever had." I can't wait to go back. Excellent service too!
The food here is every bit as good as the view. Fresh ingredients and new menu items are all tasty. Their Avocado toast is an awesome breakfast item. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this place is a winner.
One of the best restaurant views in Reno. Great steaks, creative appetizers. They also serve a nice breakfast, certainly convenient from Somersett or Sierra Canyon.
Food was wonderful! Waiter Alex A. was very friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience enjoyable. Thank you Alex A!
Good food and reasonable prices. If it’s warm enough to eat outside it is lovely. The house wine during happy hour is very god.
Awesome food, awesome experience, awesome people and awesome vibes.
Very good food and a nice quiet place to eat
We live in Del Webb at Sierra Canyon/Somersett and regularly eat meals at The Grille. We love the food, atmosphere and excellent service. ❤
I was there to celebrate two birthdays luncheon. The food was excellent. The service was great. We will be back.
Beautiful place with gorgeous view of the golf course and the mountainous background landscape. Food was delicious but I wish it was less salty. One Cadillac margarita costed us $21.37 and unfortunately did not have enough liquor tasting more like lemonade. Perhaps we should’ve mentioned it to our waitress which was very nice lady but we didn’t. I would’ve give this place 5 star if the $21 drink was worthy of its price.
Great filet mignon but the sauce was too salty. Service eager to please. Gorgeous views of golf course.
Went for a seminar. The place was nice
Long wait for food, no plate presentation.
Beautiful, pleasant, and clean, good service. The menu leaves something to be desired. I went for lunch and options were tacos, salads and sandwiches - an expensive menu with bar food; I don't go to restaurant for burger at lunch. The drinks are good; in fact, the menu has more drinks than food. Maybe I'll go back for a drink.
Walked over from the house in the late afternoon for a cocktail. Staff is pleasant but poorly trained. There was only one other customer at bar and two tables in restaurant. Sat at bar for a drink, bartender had back to us doing something at cash register. We sat there for more than ten minutes and were never acknowledged. When he finally turned around, we asked if we could take our drink out to the terrace which was empty. Was told that we could get a table and a server would take our order. I walked over and told the two servers we were going outside. We waited more than 15 minutes, went back in and reminded server we were waiting to order, went back and waited another ten+ minutes. By then it got too windy outside so we went back in, server was no where to be seen so I stuck my head in the kitchen door and told her we were now waiting inside. Drinks finally brought to table but they had obviously been sitting for a while due to the melt of the ice. Then getting the check was a whole other ridiculous amount of effort. Good servers have to have a sixth sense for their customers, an awareness to look around the room to check, make eye contact - none of these had that. When we finally got said check, my husband put cash in the folder, and she somehow dropped one of the bills on the floor walking across the room. She came back to the table asking for more money, making for a very awkward, unpleasant end to an already unpleasant experience. She did find the dropped bill. And then there is always the question, are you really supposed to leave a tip after such an encounter? Management really needs to step up its game.
My companions had the Firecracker shrimp which they enjoyed, but my "Chili Cheese" tater tots had neither Chili, not any real cheese. By the look of it, the powdered cheese scattered on the tots looked like the cheap pseudo-cheese powder in boxed macaroni and cheese. Next came a lump of what they called Flourless Chocolate cake. It was heavy and bitter. Not at all enjoyable.
Very average food, and very above average prices to make up for club member discount.
Not worth the trip. Food was fine, nothing special. Service and inventory was terrible. Out of Riesling, out of blackened seasoning for shrimp. Took a bottle of wine order and walked away without offering everyone else at the table a drink. We had to call her back. I ordered a salad with blackened shrimp on it and rather than tell me they were out of blackened seasoning, they just served me the salad with boiled shrimp on it. With no explanation until I asked. So I said I'd try it with cocktail sauce. They didn't have that either, although one staff person whipped up a quite delicious ketchup/horseradish option. Terrible job removing plates when we were finished eating and not once offered water refilled.
Had a pretty bad experience today. We’ve been going to the Grille fairly often recently with great service & food. But today was the opposite story. We had a reservation for 1:00 and service was SLOW!!!! Ridiculous to wait 40 minutes for three salads!! What?!?! Then, you’d think we were invisible because couldn’t get anyone to bring any tea refills!! There must have been 6-7 staff milling about in the restaurant, but I had to work at getting someone’s attention just for iced tea!! (Which had no ice when it was delivered, btw). If THIS is going to be the new normal, I’ll be fine with not going back!! EDIT/UPDATE 5/2024 We started going back because of the convenience to our home, and I am certainly glad we did. The service has been very good these past 6 months and the food has been good too. There is one server in particular who gets very high marks (Alex? I think?) and he is super attentive and great at his job. Whew! Glad the place has changed. 👍
We made reservations for Mother's Day brunch with out of town guests. We were seated in FULL SUN when there were empty tables that were empty the entire time we were there. We asked but they refused to moved us. We would've left except it was Mother's Day and all other restaurants are full. Probably need to be members to be treated with any decency. AVOID AT ALL COST.
The worst service EVER!!! And the restaurant was not busy at all. Servers were too young to take drink orders or serve alcohol. Bad attitude bartender too busy chatting with friends for 30 minutes to process wine order, then wrong wine served.. Food was very good, just took 30 minutes to take order, 40 minutes to get food. Another 30 minutes after meal to get server's attention for check. Manager advised, still no service. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Our server was wonderful. The venue is quite nice. The management here clearly needs work. This is an obvious conclusion when you visit. Consider getting a new GM. And if the owner is the GM, Jesus - you are running this place into the ground.
I have made reservations twice at this restaurant only to have the restaurant cancel them at the very last minute due to a "Private" event. On one occasion, they canceled our reservation AFTER we got to the restaurant and were waiting for a table. Unbelievable. They do not deserve your business.
