I'm biased. I've loved this Cupid's location for 30 years. Although ownership has changed, the world has changed, we all have changed... these delicious chili dogs remain unchanged and that's both comforting and scrumptious. The chili has always been something different and special, the dogs have bite. Better than Pink's, like... a lot better in my opinion.

I don't eat a lot of hot dogs and hadn't had Cupids for a long time but wow, they were good. A Cupids has mustard, onions and chili. You can add cheese for an extra charge. There dogs have a unique thick skin that I like but might not appeal to everyone.

Made my family happy to go to one of their favorite places in California.

My absolute favorite chili dog. Nothing else compares. Fresh buns, perfect amount of chili, and great tasting hot dogs.

OK here is an update my son and I decided to see if Winnetka was better and we did for dinner , we ordered two chili dogs and the chili was on point the original yummy goodness that we expected sorry Northridge you fail Winnetka is our new go to spot

The atomic waste looking chili is some of the best chili around. It seems like they recently may have revamped their hot dogs as the casing has a very nice snap to it (which was a nice improvement). Pinks is still my favorite but Cupid's is simple and unpretentious deliciousness without all the hype.

When I use to live in Canoga Park, one of my patients turned me on to cupids hot dogs. I couldn't ever get enough of eating meal. My lunch time was great cause that meant cupids... lol Now I'm going to try to order some to where I live .. hope I have success.

Oh boy !! I stopped going to cupids 2years ago because they changed the dog. Thought I give it a go one more time , well thank goodness the Cupids by the old Canoga Bowl is great , the same original dog , steamed bun and creamy chili. A blast to the past except for the price.$20 for 4 hot dogs. But I guess it cost more to do it right. It must be the price of the onions.

My husband and I we were born and raised in San Fernando valley Canoga park.. we love Cupids's my dad who passed away 2013. But he tried the Cupids hotdog in 2007 he loved it. Thank you

I used to be regular at the Van Nuys location, starting as a kid going with my family, then as an adult with my daughter, until it eventually closed down. Now I continue the tradition with my daughter and make the trek out to this stand and it's well worth the drive. Best chili dogs around! Snappy dogs, delicious chili and they always use fresh ingredients. Love the retro paint jobs on the tables with the rock n roll song quotes. Cupids keeps it simple by only serving the best hot dogs in town and I hope they keep it that way for many years to come!

On the Los Angeles city side of the hill there is Pinks for all of your hot dog needs. In the valley, there is Cupids Hot Dogs. Cupids has been at this location since the 1940's. They do not even come close to offering the large selection of different hot dogs that Pinks offers. In fact, their menu is fairly small and simple. What Cupids does have is the best chili dog you will ever eat. There is nothing fancy about their chili dog. It consists of a standard hot dog bun (lightly steamed), a Farmer John hot dog that has the perfect snap when you bite into it, chili dog chili (thick with no beans or chunks of meat), diced onions and yellow mustard. If it sounds simple, that's because it is. Somehow, someway, this simple chili dog is a delight for your senses. When they are all put together, those simple ingredients compliment each other. To be honest, both Cupids and Pinks chili dogs taste quite similar but the chili dog from Cupids seems to have a little something extra to it that I just can't explain. The long long line during the lunch rush each day can attest to just how popular and beloved Cupids chili dogs are. The line moves quickly though so don't let it scare you away. The dog is so worth the wait.

Such a wonderful family and story, my grandfather also owned a similar hot dog diner in New York - my dad and four brothers took it over when my grandfather passed away. Every time I come back to SoCal from Texas I have to have a couple of Cupid’s chili dogs. Twice now my family ordered the family pack of dogs with all the fixings be airshipped to Fort Worth to tide me over.

The dogs snap in your mouth! So delicious!! We ordered the cupid dog and added sauerkraut. These dogs are filling and my eyes were bigger than my stomach but I regret nothing.

If you love a simple style hot dog at a great price this is the place. I was recommended this place by a friend and she was right, so good. Plenty of parking and has that old school feel, a must try!

Cupids is legendary! If you want a “snappy” chili dog. The hot dogs are steamed or boiled so they have a snap when you bite into them! As a native I recommend that you have to try it at least once!

I had my first Cupid Hot Dog here 53 years ago. I remember sitting in our little white Toyota corolla! Evertime I visit my cousin we have to stop here. Today, Toren served us, he was so pleasant and welcoming. He really made the experience that much better!

A Southern California classic. Try the Cupid hot dog. I thought it was delicious. The hot dog is delicious with a nice snap and the chili is tasty. The buns are steamed. This place is a must-try. When I come back I will try the Chicago dog.

This place was impressive! I ordered this Chicago hot dog with bright green relish, 3 pickled peppers.. cheese sauce on it.. It was SURPRISINGLY GOOD!! The cook's name was; Torn! (I even made sure by spelling it and he confirmed! 😁), was about to close this place when I got there, but he was kind enough to accommodate me, the first timer and another guy who wanted to buy a lot of hot dogs, but he only had 4 left! Torn was patience enough and answered my question in a friendly & chill manner. He didn't sound annoyed (due to closing time). Thank you, Torn!! 👍👍👍 I'm going to stop by again soon. Also recommending this place to those who are as curious and adventurous eater like me! Pretty good sized parking lot at the back & street parking. They have small tables and benches for people to enjoy their meals there.

Cupid was a nickname of the founder’s wife and now it is in the third generation of the family. They have a very large free parking lot attached, and the service was truly great. The employee behind the counter was super sweet and she was very helpful. It was our first time so we wanted to try a mix of items. We ordered the Cupid, the Triangle, and the Reuben. I would suggest adding cheese to the Cupid and the Triangle, which is what we did. All three were really good and the dog itself was very thin but snappy. The whole meal really hit the spot. I also got a cup of chili and thought it was great. Overall, a great place to grab a great hotdog.

This place has been there for 50+ years and has wonderful chili dogs. Stopped by with my brother today and enjoyed a couple on the patio. We fed the pigeons while we enjoyed our food. It was a nice break from reality if it only for a short while.

Still a good chili dog. It may have been awhile since I've been there but OMG when did a hot dog at Cupid's cost $5. I thought $3.50 was a lot. The sad thing is I've been eating Cupid's hot dogs since they were a buck and a quarter a piece. I guess they're just trying to weed out people that want a good hotdog at a reasonable price. Haven't really upgraded the stand in 45 to 50 years and I was fine with that at about $3 a hot dog.

This little place puts out HUGE flavor! Their chili recipe is one of the best I've ever tasted. And their dogs have that snap that a great dog should have! As great as the chili dogs are,what really brings me back again and again are their chili-cheese fries. Simply fantastic! Smothered with lots of real cheddar,then topped w/ onions& just a squirt of mustard,they defy words to describe them. Yum,yum,go on down and git you sum!!

This little shack has been a Valley staple for as far as I can remember but that would bring me here when I was a kid it was always two chili dogs with everything and a Root Beer. Play springs back a bunch of good memories sitting on the tailgate in the back of little restaurant having my chili dogs on a warm summer night. Now I know there's other locations but none of them are like this one. The men exchanged up a bit over the years but again I'll still go for my usual that's the perfect combo and that always hits the spot. Not too many places like Cupid's left, the one-off mom-and-pop style places where the food is always on point and taste like it always just, perfect

The hot dogs tasted very good. We had a chili dog, dog with relish and 1 beyond type veggie dog. My 2 year old grandson liked the veggie dog. There is a nice little seating area outside but the tables are pretty grungy looking. I cleaned our table with alcohol wipes. It reminds us of the hot dog stands of the past.

Yummy. All beef hot dogs and all beef chili. Beyond meat option too. No French fries at this location. Food was good.

The hot dogs here, are not wow but are good enough. I did like the veggie dog better than the Ruben dog. Service by Ivan was excellent.

This is a standalone hotdog joint. Looks old and has a dirty trash basket. Staff is friendly, everything was prepared like in a minute. I picked up regular Cupids hot dog. The sausage is good and not salty. Too much of onions tho. Price is fair too. Overall its a good place if you like classic chilli hot dog. Not my cup of tea. Keep looking for a superior flavor food

Why go anywhere else for a chili dog? Their Cupid dog has mustard, chili and onions. I like to add cheese or you can go simple and just a chili cheese dog. They have lots of outdoor seating. If you want something healthy you probably need to keep driving past Cupids and find something else to eat

Love this place! Only go once in a while because there isn't one near where I live. So I go when am in the area of one. Only reason food didn't get a 5 star rating, is because I don't like the casing on the hotdogs. Many years ago the hotdogs didn't have Casing. Wish they would go back to that. This is a fun, down to earth, all around place to go eat. Not much for a large group, but nice to go eat with a buddy or two. Even though they tried to make it fun with all the mixed up names and special ingredients. The atmosphere of the whole place is very chill. No need to get dressed up to come and have a hotdog.

Good but not great. The chili to hot dog ratio felt lopsided to me.

The dogs are good but it's a little pricey. They have an extremely limited menu and no indoor seating. You walk up, order a hot dog and eat in your car. They have a couple of cold hard, dirty benches of you want to eat outside but that's not the best atmosphere. But I like the hot dogs so I'll do by once in a while.

Very mediocre. I got the ruben dog. sauerkraut was tart and the dog had a nice snap but I was thrown off by the addition of shredded cheddar cheese. I also got a cup of chili which was bland and had the texture of thick baby food. Overall all not the food wasn't bad but for how much you pay its not really worth it in my opinion.

I ended up getting 2 cupid dogs and 2 sodas I believe I paid 8.50 one hot dog was free (thanks yelp). I have to admit I got pretty full with the chili. There was a pop-up event going on in the rear of the business with lots of vendors and nice live music. They also have outdoor seating which surprised me because I didn't think they have one. There's plenty of parking with an awesome art piece cool spot to take pictures. I probably would come back and the other variety of hot dogs. All in all, I had a great time.

I'll be completely honest I am not a big fan of hot dogs, but still decided to give cupids a try. Upon arriving the guys at the counter were very friendly and took my order right away. Very mediocre. I got the ruben dog. sauerkraut was tart and the dog had a nice snap but I was thrown off by the addition of shredded cheddar cheese. I also got a cup of chili which was bland and had the texture of thick baby food. Overall all not the food wasn't bad but for how much you pay its not really worth it in my opinion.

food was average lower than average service. guy making food was texting while making 6 dogs and we were standing there watching him. cost for cupids is triple over 2 years. not worth the drive anymore, winerschnitzel is better. really disappointing since we live in Nevada and looked foward to this.

This was my first experience with Cupid's. The cupid dog is ok, but no cigar. I had 2 cupid dogs with, onions, mayo, mustard and chili. I think the chili is pretty good, but for me NOTHING compares to Pink's hot dogs on La Brea in Los Angeles. I love variety.

I like the place, love the valley sign in the parking lot, the chilli dogs are good, the chilli is not the best but ok, they are a little small for the price in my opinion.

I usually love Cupid's hot dogs. But the person who is serving the hot dogs is severely slow. It does not take 30 minutes to make 6 hot dogs that are already pre. Cooked.

Worker at front refused to discuss food allergies at all (actual disability which is frequently not taking seriously by people) and brushed off a simple question about ingredients by answering with 'they have gluten' which was not what was asked and acting generally rude and essentially blowing off the disability entirely. Wanted to come here and would have been willing to try it if you hadn't been so rude, and even would have been okay if the answer was that I couldn't have the food due to food allergies. Lost a potential customer, won't come again, won't recommend.

I came into this place expecting a good hotdog, but what I got was plastic dogs the taste was unbearable. I could’ve came home and made my own had like 10 times better than this place the worst place to come don’t come here at all. Don’t waste your time your money or your energy here drive 15 minutes away from here and go to pinks hotdogs right down the street.

Really good hot dogs but I went there today and they raised the price from a hotdog from 5$ cash to 6$ cash apparently because the girl charged me 6$ cash for a plain hot dog. On the sign it says 5.75 so I'm confused but either way the girl was rude I asked "did yall change your prices or something? Wasn't it 5$?" And she just ignored my question then preceded to hand me my hot dog without even saying goodbye or enjoy your hot dog lol. I wouldn't recommend this place if they can't even hire decent workers.

Gone down 100% been going there my whole life , the dog taste was tough and tasteless. The chili was different, tasteless. The whole dog was smaller also. The service was very slow . Waited half an hour for 3 people in front of us . Never coming back to this one . The one in Northridge that closed down was the last one I went to and that one had the traditional taste. Last attempt will be at the Simi valley location.
