Cupid's Hot Dogs

It's been around a long time, it's family owned and still has a good dog.

The chili is legendary and the snap of the dog is the kicker. I'm not a hotdog fan but if I'm in Van Nuys I will make time to go here. It's that good! $8 and some change for a Cupid's dog and refillable soda.

Great hotdogs, great chilli. Friendly staff, clean. Just a shame it is so far from Silver Lake. A shame there are so few. I have love Cupid's dogs, Great and fast service for over 50 years, and I will suffer the long drive, passing the "other" possible stops, for the real deal.

I had my first Cupid Hot Dog here 53 years ago. I remember sitting in our little white Toyota corolla! Evertime I visit my cousin we have to stop here. Today, Toren served us, he was so pleasant and welcoming. He really made the experience that much better!

A Southern California classic. Try the Cupid hot dog. I thought it was delicious. The hot dog is delicious with a nice snap and the chili is tasty. The buns are steamed. This place is a must-try. When I come back I will try the Chicago dog.

After all these years, still my favorite dogs. Great snap/casing on the dogs and some of the best chili you'll ever have. So good!! Great service and speedy preparation. Always my go-to spot. Cupids is and always has been topnotch hot dogs.

This is a good place. When coming from the high desert we always make it a point to stop by ... Food is wonderful

In my opinion Cupids is hands down the best hot dogs and better chili dogs. I've been going to Cupids ever since I was a little boy with parents 30 years ago. Buns are always fresh and steamed and the hotdogs are one of a kind as well as the chili. I'm just sad that they keep closing locations down and there's none close to Van Nuys anymore 😔

Exactly what it was. Basic dog $6.95 Nothing like it. A travel back in time. Please live forever!

Great dogs. The Cupid dog is my go too here, but if you want a Chicago theirs is as close as you can get without going to Chicago.

I always have a good experience here. food is always consistent. Fresh and tasty. Lindley spot used to be my go to but this is just as good. The dude who works here is awesome!

I love Cupid’s. I’ve been coming here for over 40 years. I get the 3 Cupid dogs with light chili. I like them way better than Pinks. I consider this the best hotdog in LA.

10/16/2025 According to other customers, this place have been here since the 1970's or maybe even before that. I tried their hot dogs and damn it was as good as others say they were! The place looks historical as well. I can compaee this spot at Pink's hot dogs in Beverly Hills. They're about the samw quality.

#latepost I've eaten here for the first time, out of curiosity. I've always seen people buying/ordering/eating here. I'm not really a hot dog eater. Only once in a while, I'll get a corn dog. BUT,... This place was impressive! I ordered this Chicago hot dog with bright green relish, 3 pickled peppers.. cheese sauce on it.. It was SURPRISINGLY GOOD!! The cook's name was; Torn! (I even made sure by spelling it and he confirmed! 😁), was about to close this place when I got there, but he was kind enough to accommodate me, the first timer and another guy who wanted to buy a lot of hot dogs, but he only had 4 left! Torn was patience enough and answered my question in a friendly & chill manner. He didn't sound annoyed (due to closing time). Thank you, Torn!! 👍👍👍 I'm going to stop by again soon. Also recommending this place to those who are as curious and adventurous eater like me! Pretty good sized parking lot at the back & street parking. They have small tables and benches for people to enjoy their meals there.

It was delicious the hot dog had a snap and the chili was wonderful I enjoyed the dulcid sounds of traffic on Vanowen Boulevard but I like their Charming little patio with a mural based on a picture of the owners sometime ago. recommended

The last Cupid's that just does what made them popular. The hot dogs 🌭 that I've enjoyed at this location for over 40 years. I enjoy the naturally tree shaded outdoor seating. 😎 I dropped in recently for a chili dog and was not disappointed.

We ❤ the chili dogs because the Northridge 💘 Cupid's was the one we always had gone to for (4 generations strong) but we stopped one last time before coming here to say "Goodbye" with a tear in our eye! 😢 & before I forget we was here 3 years ago for some take-out but tonight was a very special one seeing the girls roller skating around & the music & just the whole atmosphere of being here in person & going back in time to a much better place when people loved one another & cared for each other & the universal language of food as 💘 "Cupid's Hot Dogs" because we all need to eat! Thank You for making our night & our visit an awesome one!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s & 💯%+ The Ochoa Family ( AKA, the poncho family) 😎👍

Cupid's HOT Dogs a must stop place for some freaking Delicious dogs, Not to mention the Chile amazing. Never Disappoints..BTW a huge shout out to Nathan the amazing employee that served me. Originally opened in 1946 Cupid’s is a famous spot in Los Angeles to grab a great hotdog. They have many locations in the valley, this being the southernmost one. Cupid was a nickname of the founder’s wife and now it is in the third generation of the family. They have a very large free parking lot attached, and the service was truly great. The employee behind the counter was super sweet and she was very helpful. It was our first time so we wanted to try a mix of items. We ordered the Cupid, the Triangle, and the Reuben. I would suggest adding cheese to the Cupid and the Triangle, which is what we did. All three were really good and the dog itself was very thin but snappy. The whole meal really hit the spot. I also got a cup of chili and thought it was great. Overall, a great place to grab a great hotdog.

We got the Chicago Dogs after a recent trip to Chicago. Toppings and presentation were WOW. The wiener itself was not quite the same. Not bad, I say. Just a bit different. Still, a wonderful way to ease the craving of a Chicago Dog. Very affordable! Thanks!

My ultimate chili dog spot. They only serve chili dogs drinks and chips but the best chili dogs I've ever had. There are only two original Cupids and this is one of them. Anytime I'm in the San Fernando valley I make a detour to this spot. You won't be disappointed.

I came for an event for yelps was having for elite yelpers. I enjoyed the event they had vendors that showed up and live music. They even had roller skaters there that brought out the meal to you. Really quality plump and juicy hot dogs served here. It tastes much better than the pictures lead on. I had the cupid dog with relish and it hit the spot. 100x better than Weinersnitzer. Plenty of parking in the back and service was quick and efficient. Highly recommended! IG: kay_okay_eat

The best crisp-skin-pop-in-your-mouth-delicious hot dogs! Sauerkraut and mustard. the best...classic 🌭 They have other add-ons but you don't need them. The best thing? I'm sensitive to all those nitrates and chemicals in most hotdogs. They make me nauseous. These do not!! Yay!

Yummy. All beef hot dogs and all beef chili. Beyond meat option too. No French fries at this location. Food was good.

Why go anywhere else for a chili dog? Their Cupid dog has mustard, chili and onions. I like to add cheese or you can go simple and just a chili cheese dog. They have lots of outdoor seating. If you want something healthy you probably need to keep driving past Cupids and find something else to eat

This is a standalone hotdog joint. Looks old and has a dirty trash basket. Staff is friendly, everything was prepared like in a minute. I picked up regular Cupids hot dog. The sausage is good and not salty. Too much of onions tho. Price is fair too. Overall its a good place if you like classic chilli hot dog. Not my cup of tea. Keep looking for a superior flavor food

The hot dogs here, are not wow but are good enough. I did like the veggie dog better than the Ruben dog. Service by Ivan was excellent.

Love this place! Only go once in a while because there isn't one near where I live. So I go when am in the area of one. Only reason food didn't get a 5 star rating, is because I don't like the casing on the hotdogs. Many years ago the hotdogs didn't have Casing. Wish they would go back to that. Otherwise, great taste and very friendly service.

Very expensive but very good. I have been coming to this location for over 50 years. Regular hot dog is $6.43, I remember when they were $1.25 and was upset when they went to $1.75, ahhh the good old days before greed became so normally accepted.

Very mediocre. I got the ruben dog. sauerkraut was tart and the dog had a nice snap but I was thrown off by the addition of shredded cheddar cheese. I also got a cup of chili which was bland and had the texture of thick baby food. Overall all not the food wasn't bad but for how much you pay its not really worth it in my opinion.

I ended up getting 2 cupid dogs and 2 sodas I believe I paid 8.50 one hot dog was free (thanks yelp). I have to admit I got pretty full with the chili. There was a pop-up event going on in the rear of the business with lots of vendors and nice live music. They also have outdoor seating which surprised me because I didn't think they have one. There's plenty of parking with an awesome art piece cool spot to take pictures. I probably would come back and the other variety of hot dogs. All in all, I had a great time.

Gone down 100% been going there my whole life , the dog taste was tough and tasteless. The chili was different, tasteless. The whole dog was smaller also. The service was very slow . Waited half an hour for 3 people in front of us . Never coming back to this one . The one in Northridge that closed down was the last one I went to and that one had the traditional taste. Last attempt will be at the Simi valley location.
