My husband and I are here for a weekend getaway and decided to stop in for some takeout. The food is AUTHENTIC and DELICIOUS!! ! I had a pernil sandwich with plátano maduro and he had the rotisserie chicken with beans and macaroni salad along with a side of maduros. The food was FLAVORFUL and served HOT! I also got a container of pistachio polvorones and they were delicious! They have typical fritters available and also sell a variety of bagged coffees made in Puerto Rico. This place is LEGIT! ♥️ The staff is friendly and very welcoming. It was truly pleasure!
Was on vacation and went here for dinner. Truly, truly so delicious and amazing!! Everything was so tasteful and good. I live in NYC and this is top tier. The staff here are incredibly friendly as well. It’s so good, we went back the next day for lunch. We tried something else and that was unbelievable as well. Please go and try this place out. You won’t regret it.
The Puerto Rican cuisine offered here is exceptional. I particularly enjoyed the Mofongo with shrimp, which I found to be the finest I have ever experienced, noting its outstanding flavor. My companions also expressed high satisfaction with their respective dishes. Despite the restaurant's location being over an hour away, I intend to return.
Super delicious! And staff are so nice and welcoming, this place is beautiful and great music. Recommend 10/10 trust me! ♡
The staff was excellent. You walked in to a family atmosphere as a typical Puerto Rican household. The food was delicious, we asked the young ladies for their opinions and they were spot on! Everything we ordered was great. We got rotisserie chicken, pernil, white rice and red beans, empanadas (beef and chicken), sorullos, maduros, chicken soup, rice pudding, cornbread with guava and cheese. Our party enjoyed everything and we even had leftovers!
Went with my wife because she was craving pasteles, and I ended up trying the chicken and cheese empanadas along with the alcapurrias. Everything had good flavor, though I do wish the empanadas had a bit more meat. My wife really enjoyed the pasteles, and I loved the decor inside great atmosphere. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place
Never have I ever eaten pasteles better than my grandmas but this right here AMAZING! Meat to masa ratio was on point! I’m mad I only ordered a half a dozen but I will be back for more. Chef continue to do ur thing! I ordered a yuca Alcapurria the taste was wonderful I just wish it had more meat. The tres leche cake PERFECT!!! Not too sweet not soggy just perfect 👏👏👏👏 The service was great friendly cashier, she kept asking me if I wanted anything else I was like girl stop because I’m adding more lol. The esthetics of the seating area was spectacular. Definitely coming back to sit and eat.
This was my first visit to El Rincon Caribe and my visit was just to pick up an order of Pasteles but while waiting to get my order I couldn't help but order some extra food to eat since everything looked amazing. The chicken and cheese empanada, the Alcapurrias and yucca pasteles were amazing. They reminded me of eating my mother's food while growing up. I even grabbed an order of their cornbread as a treat to myself and this was the first time I've had it with guava paste on top and now I will miss that when it doesn't have guava. 😆 Everyone is saw were very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. I will definitely be a returning customer now that I've found this place.
I'm giving 5 stars because all of the food was delicious but I ordered pasteles de Guineo y cerdo and we were done eating and they still weren't ready. We waited 15 minutes in our car in the parking lot and they still weren't ready, the yuca chicken pasteles were OK, 6 out of 10. When they offered me more yuca pasteles I just left and said to give it to the next customer when they are ready because I had to leave. That's my only gripe, otherwise all of the rest of the food was pretty good. Next time I'll order to go and pick up once everything is ready. Maybe then I'll get to try the pasteles that I'm sure are good.
I have been in the Pocono Mountains for a few days now and have enjoyed quite a few restaurants, but started craving some authentic Puerto Rican food a day or two ago.....and let me tell you....I'm so happy I found this restaurant on google! Team members were on point with their menu knowledge, recommendations, and friendliness! Liz and Ivanna made us feel like we were visiting family! Chefs know exactly how Puerto Rican food should taste and the food we ordered did not disappoint one bit. Perfect balance of flavor and that home cooked feel! Ricardo the chef throws down in the kitchen for sure! A perfect venue for family style eating with a clean and beautifully Puertorican style decorated dining area - made us feel like we were on the island. Salsa music playing in the background at the perfect volume added to the dining experience. We had some fritters to start with (alcapurrias, sorrullitos, and rellenos de papa), Bistec Salteado (steak cooked to perfection smothered in bell peppers and onions), the roasted pork, with arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas) and a salad as the main course. The house dressing for the salad was perfect, too. For dessert, we ordered some flan and a tres leches slice of cake (to-go). The pastry chef knows what they are doing! So good! If you want pasteles on the spot you can get them on weekends, but they are sold frozen to take home and cook any day. Definitely recommend El Rincon Caribe and will for sure be back soon. This place does not disappoint! Free parking available.
This place serves THE BEST Puerto Rican food I've tasted in a long time. The arroz con gandules is a family favorite. We got a large portion of the Pernil, Pepper Steak, Rotisserie Chicken and Habichuelas... We ate it ALL. If you want some Spanish Food come here. The women taking my order were very inviting, hospitable, quick and accurate. I will always come back!!
We were in the mood for Caribbean while in the Poconos and found this spot from reviews. This place did not disappoint! I loved right away that the buffet style in the window for each dish was actually covered! Keep it super warm and freshhh! We ordered the beef stew with arroz con gandules and oxtail with the same rice. Sooooo delicious!!! Very generous with the meat. I’ve been to places where they only give two pieces of oxtail and by the time you take out the bones, cartilage and fat there’s barely any meat. Not this spot!! Plenty of meat- well worth the price. We even had saved the leftovers for lunch the next day and it tasted even better! Just note, if you stop by, maybe pay with cash. They have two prices in the window if you are paying by credit card it was a little bit more, most likely to pay the processing fees. All and all this is a must try if you are staying in the area!
Walking into El Rincon Caribe in Tannersville, Pennsylvania, you get the sense that this is a spot focused on the food more than the frills. I went for takeout and ordered the stew chicken along with a mofongo, and while I was not impressed by how either dish looked when I opened the containers, both ended up being packed with flavor. The stew chicken was tender with a deep, savory sauce that paired perfectly with the rice. The mofongo had just the right amount of garlic and seasoning, with a good balance of texture that kept it from being too dry. Their menu is full of homestyle comfort food like pulled pork, pepper steak, pork ribs, and even oxtail if you want to splurge, with most meals priced between ten and eighteen dollars depending on the size. For the quality and portion sizes, the prices felt fair, especially considering how well-seasoned the food was. What holds the experience back a little is not the food, but everything around it. The customer service was not bad, but I would rate it closer to three out of five. The staff got the job done, but there was not a lot of warmth or personality in the interaction, which makes a difference when you are deciding whether to come back. The inside of the restaurant is clean and functional but not memorable, and the parking is average, so it is convenient enough for a quick pickup. Despite that, the food itself makes El Rincon Caribe worth checking out if you want hearty, flavorful Puerto Rican and Caribbean dishes without paying too much. The flavor and portion sizes make it a solid choice for takeout, even if the service and atmosphere do not stand out.
Food is good and authentic. The restaurant is nice and clean. But more customer service skills needed. A kind, friendly and helpful puertorican always makes the difference raising our flag high! 🇵🇷🇵🇷 Many blessings!
I am slightly disappointed with how my day went with my family. I really did enjoyed the food, and their deserts were actually amazing. The interior was a cute homage to mainland Puerto Rico, but the waiting hours were so upsetting. Nearly a hour and a half for our food to come, and it felt a bit crowded with the metal chairs slightly wobbling. On the bright side, the food was good, with the meal reminding you of your abuelo or abuela's cooking, and the atmosphere is perfect for all people for all ages. The decor is one of my favourites, with the items filled with everything to remind of you the beauty of Puerto Rico, like Taino symbols, bongos, and the lively music of famous salseros. All together, it is a great place to eat, the staff and waiting time was just sadly not worth the long waiting
