I have eaten here several times in the last 4 years. However tonight, our service was spectacular. MARY, WAS OUR SERVER. she anticipated all our needs. She was happily removing our dishes as we finished, packing up our leftovers. She set the pace for our entire evening, and made our dinner very special. We asked for her schedule, so we can dine when she is working!
This was my first time at Carrabbas. Mary hosted us and it was a delightful experience. She was kind, patient, friendly and helpful. She walked us through the menu and what’s available in the specials so I never had to be anxious over figuring out the menu since it’s a new place for me. She was so kind about my food and appetite issue. I think we all need a Mary in our lives to make sure new experiences are enjoyable without any restrictions.
Went to the bar last night for happy hour. David was amazing. I got the passion pear spritz and fried ravioli, it was amazing. Also got fettuccine weenie to go and they was also amazing. I didn't know the was a $10 to go entree if you order 2. Well be back soon
First time visiting Carrabba's and had a great time. We were quickly seated upon entering and was met with one of the best servers I've ever come across, "Mary." Ordered the ribeye cooked to the perfect requested medium rare. The mashed potatoes were tasty and my only complaint was the side of pasta was a bit over-done for my liking. Finished with a tiramisu which was great and hit the spot after a great dinner. I cannot stress how professional, hospitable and friendly Mary was. She was very accommodating and made my first time visiting special. Primarily due to her, I will visit more often on the days she's working. A great first experience with Carrabba's.
We do the monthly wine dinners often and it is a wonderful experience. The food is always excellent and a great atmosphere for a date night. We enjoy the staff and they are prompt and attentive. We will keep coming back here for sure!!
The ribeye was fantastic the shrimp had great flavor the pasta was good. I didn’t like the sun dried tomatoes but that was my personal preference. Everything else was superb and flavorful it was my first time and I have no complaints. Our waiter was also the bartender and she was amazing!!!
Let’s start off with Mary N was absolutely FANTASTIC. She went above and beyond the entire meal and anticipated our needs before we could say anything. She was sweet and made our experience wonderful. I’ve never been here before and the food was EXCELLENT. I could drink the Marsala sauce, just saying. We will definitely be back!!
Really good experience at this venue. We went in super hungry off a concert, and really alpreciated pre-meal bread. The rigatoni pasta was superb and delicious. Service was pretty good as well. Only thing I missed is the “cheese stopping game” ;)
It’s important when I go out for dining that I have really good service. We were served by Tammy at the Henrietta location. She was awesome. Very attentive, engaging, and service focused. I stopped going to nearby restaurants because of the lack of service. Very happy to have found another location that I can frequent because of people like Tammy..
Phenomenal! Excellent service! Mary is by far the best waitress there is!!!! You don't find them like her anymore. It was nice to see good service still exists! She should teach a class in customer service! The food was Worth every penny!
Awesome Place 👌 To Visit and Take out What? You Buy ❤️ ❤️ ❤️... Yummy! Go Visit and Enjoy Many Blessings Always.
I used to live in Rochester in my earlier days. Graduated from high school. There went on to college in another state and of course I came back to visit family and friends and I'm telling you each and every time I came back you find me right there in the line getting my steak sub. This is the best steak sub and I can honestly say that in the world I have gone from Philly to New York to California. I have been a lot of places and I tell you hands down . You'll never find a better steak sub than here. Going to other places I get very. disappointed. I'm going to try to figure out how I can get these steak subs delivered. Now don't get me wrong. The deli itself is wonderful. The other sandwiches they do have are just as great but of course the steak sub is my favorite. I when I go there believe me I stock up. I stock up on all the different sauces, different breads and things like that and bring them back here to my town. I just can't say enough about it and the people. The staff just very personable. Very professional but just very nice too as well. They make you feel welcome. They make you feel warm. And the pictures you see with the loaded amount of steak. Believe me they truly loaded up the pictures. Do not do them Justice because you get a heck of a lot of steak and any other sandwiches that you order. I mean they pile it on
The Best of the Best ! No need to go anywhere else Dominick & Dina and the rest of the employees are the BEST !!! The food speaks for itself…. My only go to place for subs - cold cuts -and cheeses I live in California but originally from Rochester but I still order from there and have it shipped nothing like it here in California really miss it ‼️😎
What a gem this place is. Immediately greeted by all staff as soon as we walked in. Several options of Italian cuisine you don't typically find in the grocery store with fresh made baked goods. Stopped in for some subs and they were perfect you really get a good amount of meat on these subs which is appreciated. I'd recommend this place 1000 over for the quality of the food and staff.
Love this place! The best subs anywhere, huge portions, great selections, the the specialty sausages are fantastic! Love the family atmosphere too, great job everyone.
Best Steak Subs 😋 Hands down ! Very cheap with a lot of meat 🍖 family oriented and very respectful workers ! Very pleasant and attentive 🔥🔥🔥
Nice little place - they sell Uncle Ralph’s Magic Sauce - bought a case. They have a whole bunch of Rochester-centric sauces; nice go to place for when I come home to visit. Will have to try a sandwich next time.
This place has all your Italian needs.! Their subs an pre made salads are to die for, fresh and delicious. The staff are very polite and friendly!
If you can find a better sandwich anywhere I want to know. Fresh, made to order and generous portions of quality ingredients
Sandwiches are 5/5. Perfect for game nights or get togethers and honestly for the size and price it's worth it. Also dolma and cannoli 👍🏼
One of, if not the best, sub places in Rochester. Bread is always fresh, generous portions meat, this place is it. I am never going to Dibellas again.
This a very cool little spot. I had been working on the area for 8/9 weeks driving by like 2-3 times a week. I finally stopped. I regret not stopping sooner. Food is great. I loved the almond cone. I got the steak sub. It’s HUGE and tasty. Thank you. They have all kinds of stuff in here. Deli. Some prepared foods. Deserts pastries etc.. will stop again
Delicious sandwiches and deli salads, they really make everything special. Our first visit was this past week but it won’t be our last. Friendly personable staff too!
One of the best Deli sandwiches I've eaten..I've traveled all over the US and even out of the country and nothing compares..The sandwich I had was the Dominator..fresh bread..turkey..lettuce, tomato choice of cheese and the sauce they add to kick up the flavor is absolutely delish..the portion size is great. not to mention the friendly service.
First time here and I was quite impressed! Ordered a small sub (still pretty big with a ton of meat on it) and it was super good. The rolls are chewy and soft just as they should be. They also had a ton if Rochester based sauces and such that you can get. Highly recommended for the subs for sure and for the selection of meats and such that they have.
Unfortunately, the service was not very good! We were her only table and we had to get up and get her attention! But the food was really good and going back before we leave!
May 2023 - Carrabba's is one of my favorite chain restaurants and not visiting any of them for some time, I was happy to suggest our party of five dine here while we were all in upstate New York. Only one of our group knew this eatery, as well, and also knew how delicious the food was - especially with the "Bryan" add-on to meat dishes. This topping has goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes, basil and lemon butter sauce. Though before leaving for New York I made a reservation where staff answering the phone did tell me since they accept walk-ins this would still give us a twenty minute advantage to those with no reservations, we were all surprised at our wait time, which was well over an hour. Staff did apologize whenever we went back to the reception desk to ask how soon it would be and they explained that because of our group size, other tables with this amount of patrons were staying a long time and nothing was becoming available. Okay. It was a busy weekend with multiple graduations in the area as well as other events. Another round. Kudos to the bartender who really was working hard and making large quantities of drinks, some complicated, and had them on trays for pick up well before staff retrieved them. Eventually we did get a booth that accommodated us. All of our dishes were what people expect from Carrabba's who have dined here before. Really good food with a touch of class. Interestingly, because it's a chain, their cuisine is better or as good as some privately owned Italian businesses with reputations. Bread came to the table along with salads where either a house or caesar could be selected and one order of soup. The calamari appetizer was crunchy but had an odd color to it that we all commented on when served. One order of chicken Bryan and one order of Tuscan-grilled filet with the Bryan topping were both delicious. The Rigatoni Campagnolo was a hefty serving that was easily eaten up. Veal marsala with a fettuccine alfredo upgrade side was well received and also left nothing to bring home. The Tuscan- Grilled Pork Chops with marsala topping, (there is a choice of one or two chops) that came with one side of penne in red sauce and the second of parmesan truffle fries was big enough to allow one chop to be boxed up. The review given was the pork was tender, grilled perfectly and had plenty of flavor. Long stay but everything was very satisfactory. I did miss the fried basil garnish that used to accompany the Bryan topping that stood up proudly like a fleur-de-lis on top of the meat rather than the sprinkled basil now served, but that's a small thing overall.
The food and drinks are consistently great here. We have been at this location many times. Wine dinners are very nice and the food and wine for them is great. Service is slow though, which holds this place back. Recommended.
Very good food for a chain. Was afraid of trying out Rochester Italian while in the area as Mama G was great but others that were rated well turned out to me meh. Had Tomatoes Caprese w Fresh Burratta, Shrimp and Scallop Linguine Alla Vodka and Mezzaluna and wasn't disappointed
Haven’t been here in a while but thought we’d give it a try tonight. It was better than I remembered. Had freshly cooked pasta with grilled chicken. The staff was super attentive and friendly. I would recommend for a fast dinner.
Will be back. I got an Italian Assorted. Delicious! I can't wait to try other sandwiches. House: clean and unpretentious. Very strong sense of community in the dining area. Service: friendly. The place was nonstop and the staff was moving along without being rude or impatient. Food: I got the small and should have considered the mini. The sandwich was bigger than I thought. Fresh and delicious! Price: competitive pricing. They are a little cheaper than some chain places that offer worse food.
One of my fav chain restaurants. Came in for a late dinner, about 8pm when they close at 10pm. The host sat us on the bar side booth. The servers that were cut were being so loud in that area we asked to be moved halfway through our appetizers. I am surprised a manager did not come over to tell them they are 10ft away from guests and should be quieter. And/or a manager did not come over to talk to us at all after we blatantly moved all of our plates. Our food was good. And our actual server was pleasant.
We came to Carrabba’s to celebrate our 7-year anniversary and left wondering how a place specializing in Italian classics could fumble so hard. We started with diet drinks and the Classics Combination appetizer—fried calamari, mozzarella marinara, and tomato caprese with burrata. Unfortunately, the calamari and mozzarella arrived cold and congealed. The caprese and burrata were a first for me, and… let’s just say I won’t be going back for seconds. Props to our server Tammy, though—she was friendly, helpful, and quick to fix the situation by bringing out a fresh plate of hot calamari and melty mozzarella. That definitely helped. The complimentary bread with seasoned oil and the lentil sausage soup? Delicious. In fact, the soup was the highlight of the entire meal. For our entrée, we split the Italian Classic Trio: lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo, and chicken parmesan. The lasagna was barely warm with stale, chewy edges. The Alfredo was cold and sad-looking, like it had been abandoned on a counter for too long. Only the chicken parm arrived hot—but even that felt more reheated than freshly cooked. Tammy brought out a replacement Alfredo, which was much better. We ended the meal with the lemon cello bread pudding to-go, which was actually good. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to redeem the rest of the experience. Final bill? Nearly $80 (almost $100 after tip) for what should have been an easy, crowd-pleasing Italian meal. For that price, we should’ve braved the hour wait at BJ’s Brewhouse. Lesson learned: yes, Italian food can be messed up—Carrabba’s proved it.
The service was ok, for the restaurant to be almost empty. There were about 14 in our party, and they kept getting orders wrong. They mixed up the drinks, and some got the wrong ones. When it came to the food, multiple items were overcooked or burnt, dishes had to be replaced, and someone had literal cheese plastic wrap on their chicken parmasean. Forget the ambiance. The food has never been great, so I would pass on the recommendation. Then, the doors were locked an hour before the posted closing time.
This review is mainly for curbside. We arrived at the time designated when we ordered which was about 40 minutes from our order time. Received a link at the pickup time and told them we were there and spot. Waited 16 minutes and no sign of anyone except people leaving work and smoking out that door. I called and asked and about it and immediately someone came out and handed me the food. Clearly it was done and bagged just waiting there. Sure enough when we got home the mashed potatoes were barely warm. Not sure what they were doing in there but certainly not earning the 18% pretip.
The service was horrible. I was there for a birthday party for my friend and it was for 26-27 people. They only had one waitress for us all. We asked for another server but the manager didn't or couldn't accommodate us. The waiter did the best she could but the manager wouldn't or couldn't help. Food came out cold. Some meals got mixed up. We got there @ 7pm. We didn't get cold soup until 9: 20 overall we just basically had fun with each other's company. Happy birthday RENEE!!!
