Cute little place with a cozy atmosphere! Brittany served us and made our experience amazing! She interacted with my 5 year old daughter wonderfully and made her feel special! She insisted that she draw a picture so she could hang on the wall for all to see! The mozzarella logs were AMAZING and need to be shared with multiple people! I chose the a homemade pizza which was so good! The chefs were trained in NYC to make Brock oven pizza and this girl from LI was not disappointed! Service was a little slow (only 2 waitresses for the whole place), but it made for a relaxing time with family! We will be back!

My wife and I arrived last night for our reservation. Jake was our server. He was nothing short of perfect. Always there when we needed anything. My pizza was excellent. My wifes fish was great. Nice venue and nicer staff. Could not believe the high quality of the food coming out of the kitchen. There was also an Irish folk band playing real instruments there which was awesome. Of all the bars in Charlotte this easily puts itself at the top, in a league of its own. The owner is usually there making sure you have the best experience possible, and it shows. Did i mention hiw good the food was?

Brit brings so much life to this place, so glad she gets overworked it brings out get happy! I usually stop in on Wednesday evenings, and I’ve been a few times, each time ordering something different and so far it’s all WOWs. This isn’t your traditional bar/restaurant, some Michelin starts need applied. Lol Overall, great food, drinks and personalities!

Great chef! You can't beat the quality of food. My favorites are Calamari Salad and Lemon Fish. Large portions and super tasty! Quality! Well worth the wait for your individually prepared food!

Food is excellent , prices are good and And cool old school bar atmosphere. Friday fish fry was delicious. Only issue was when we were there the air conditioning was out it was a little warm. Other than that very good.

My family and I enjoyed the buffet that John Reynolds (Owner) coordinated for our family after my great grandmother's funeral service. John worked closely with my grandmother to make this experience special. He made many different wood fired pizzas, salad, appetizers and offered dessert and coffee. HOLY MOTHER OF... I can't even count the amount of times that I drove by this place and thought "meh"... Never going in to check it out. Boy do I ever regret thinking like that. Me and a couple of buds decided to finally pull the trigger and give this place a visit. I had a burger with coleslaw on the side, a handful of buffalo wings and most of a medium pepperoni pizza (yes, I can eat a lot.) Definitely very good all across the board! To note: The pizza had a real nice genuine tamotoe-y flavor in the sauce, the consistency on the dough couldn't be better, nice greasy flavorful cup and char style pepperoni, and that nice somewhat oily, good chrunch on the outside with a tender inside type of crust. Brick oven! Burger was juicy and THICK (that was a half pound patty? I wonder what their full pound patties look like!) Cooked just the way I asked. The typical toppings of ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomatoe and onion are hard to get wrong at any place, but I have to say that the persihable toppings here seemed quite fresh! The wings were light on the sauce, but despite that, the sauce still presented a strong tangy buffalo flavor. The wings were cooked just right too, in my opinion. Coleslaw.... Well, nothing special, I thought it was alright (hey, everything can't be perfect all at once.) Atmosphere has a nice and cozy feel to it as well, with some Rochester history on the walls and such. It's bigger on the inside than you might think, ceiling isn't low or anything. I'm gonna have to go with a five starer here, I never would have expected. Awesome!

Had another great meal. Hubby had the pork osso bucoo. (sp?), delicious, I had the surf n turf. Excellent lobster snd steak cooked med rare. They make their own dressings. The Italian basil is amazing and the homemade bread, to die for. Jake is awesome snd Darlene stopped to chat. Eat here, it’s delicious. And doesn’t break your pocket book. Oh and the wood stove pizza, TRY IT.

Great food and staff. One of the few places left with a full size shuffle board. Reservations would be recommended for the weekends. That should tell you all you need to know about the food and quality.

Our daughter and son in law took us here Saturday for dinner. Our first time here. The meals were Amazing. Filet was super. My wife's prime rib was great. We will definitely be returning again in the not to distant future. We have lived just down the road and never been here. Definitely will be coming back soon.

A very pleasant surprise with a very good pizza, great service and a nice atmosphere to socialize with family. The crust of the pizza was made fresh here and is was exactly what we were looking for, a thinner crust, good sauce and good toppings. It delivered on all fronts. This is our new favorite in Rochester. Fine dining in a casual atmosphere. The good portions on food, the presentation, all compliment the taste. Staff is always helpful and attentive. The prices are reasonable, and you always bring home leftovers that are even better the next day.

Had a great dinner last night. Service was excellent. I had the Seafood combo. Battered fish was wonderful, breaded shrimp was perfect , scallops were good but small. The Chicken French portion was HUGE. 4 of us enjoyed a great night. FYI shuffleboard at the bar is excellent and is a great ice breaker for anyone on a night out. We even had people at the bar enjoying our antics on the shuffleboard.

Last time I was there I had shrimp French it was amazing and I just heard they're open for lunch now can't wait to go back you also should try one of their espresso martinis

ALERT. Went to the Tavern, a few years ago, and it wasn’t very good. My wife talked me into going today for dinner and it was absolutely fantastic!! Calamari salad and a Cajun chicken Sandwich. Wife had a beef sandwich with that dip they give you. It was great. Going back tomorrow with our grandson to try one of the specials.

What a real gym this location is, small local type restaurant and pub, stellar menu selection fantastic food taste and presentation. And very reasonable prices overall. Very busy the night we went quite loud because there was a birthday party of about 14 people at tables. But overall very good recommendation from a friend and Will make the track from Penfield to Charlotte just to visit this location again.

Great staff, some of the best pizza I have had in the ROC in a longtime. Party had nothing to say but how good everything was. Will definitely be going back.

Today I ordered pizza to go but I couldn't decide so John the owner suggested the crossroads pizza. 4 different pizza offerings divided by braided crust! Stopped in without a reservation on a Saturday evening and were promptly seated in the side dining area. Our waitress Michelle promptly greeted us a took drink orders. She also brought fresh bread with balsamic vinegar, garlic and oil which was very tasty. We ordered two specials, pork osso bucco and dry broiled haddock with dill pickles. Both dishes were well presented and delicious. The pork was very tender and fell off the bone. The side of jasmine rice was perfectly cooked. We had to wait a little longer for our food than one would expect but given how busy it was and the great quality of the food we were okay with that. Prices were reasonable for both food and beverages. Never have had a bad meal here and highly recommend it

Amazing food and cocktails! Portions were BIG. The portobello french appetizer was so good. Also would recommend the wood fired gnocchi and eggplant Parm. The only downside is they appeared to maybe be a little understaffed for Valentine's Day. Still a great dining experience and will definitely go back again.

I still love the Italian calamari. It was delicious. What has changed? Well all my life shrimp cocktail has been at least four Big shrimp. Now with "Inflation" three seems to be the norm here. And the jumbo seafood combo was a 4-5 oz.fillet thinner than 1/2 deck of cards and two each lonely scallops and shrimp with some red powder and no sign of BUTTER. Come on. For $36 It should be swimming in scrumptious pools of butter. The $12 doubles and that magnificent calamari saved this from being a 2 star debacle. My first underwhelming dinner experience ever at this venue. Unhappy Birthday to me. Did not get a chance to try the impressive pizza oven Gotta love that calamari.

We love the Charlotte Tavern and always get a good, quality meal there, with huge portions that never leave u walking out hungry. Wood fired pizza was excellent.

I actually got my food and had too ask for hot fries, because fries were cold. The burger was good. Except I got the black and blue burger. The dressing on my burger was nasty. Burger meat was good. Blue cheese was horrible. Waitress was wonderful she brought out hot fries they were great. I am sorry I was starving or else I would of said you can take it back I'll order something else, but it was almost closing time. All in all staff was very nice and establishment was cozy/clean.

I would give this little spot 5 stars, but the prices were pretty high. I try and go bang for my buck when going out. I will say the food came out wonderful. Drinks did stay full so absolutely no complaints about the service. The bar gets full very very quickly and you almost feel like there's not enough oxygen in this place for the amount of people in the bar. It may look extremely busy but usually the restaurant part of this establishment has room. I had Cajun chicken sandwich which was very good; My husband ordered a burger with mushrooms also very good, word to the Wise you need to ask for lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and anything additional you want it comes with nothing but the bun. My friend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which was huge. It honestly was enough for three people...wonderful atmosphere, good service, very good food but the price was pretty hefty. They do cash out right at the table and it is wireless so to anyone who doesn't like the thought of a hacker stealing all of your information via wireless cash out machine you might want to bring cash.

For a small tavern, this place serves fantastic food. Chicken fingers are some of the best in Roc. They should call the large order chicken hands as they are huge, the size of a chicken breast. Bartender Jake is super attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is good and has a shuffleboard table in the bar area. In addition to the bar area, there is regular restaurant seating.

My wife and I made this the destination of our monthly date night last night. We were regulars here about 12 years ago before moving away and returning. A lot has changed and a lot has stayed the same. It has the same friendly neighborhood pub atmosphere and delicious food. We found they don’t serve the full menu Sunday through Tuesday, just pub fare and their new addition of brick oven pizza. There has been a lot of work done to the Tavern and it looks great! We ordered wings and had them finished in the pizza oven. They may be my new favorite wings(dead man sauce). We then got a medium CBR(chicken, bacon, ranch) pizza. This was fantastic! Well done and keep up the good work!

The service was excellent the food was very good if you like marinara on your spaghetti and your chicken parm. But if you are a Sicilian style sauce lover like we are then you might be a little disappointed the price was a little high for the servings the atmosphere was very nice.

Good was good but when we went in they had been sanding the dining room like they were renovating the place and we had to wait at least 10 to 20 minutes until they cleaned up the dining room. The atmosphere could have been a little bit better.

Great Service, Bar and Restaurant! However, my strip steak was very dry, not cooked medium, as I requested and had a lot of stringy nerve in it. The mashed potatoes were instant (very dry)and the gravy I asked for was barely a teaspoon full (had to ask for more. Good thing I got the stuffed strip steak which was filled with a combo of onions, mushrooms and cheese (I think - supposedly). The combo was very tastey and moist, which was the only way I was able to swallow my meat. Stuffed steak is a good idea, but meat needs much better attention to cut and how it was cooked. My salad was excellant. (Funny thing I just remembered, even though the dressing was good, when I went to pour it over my salad, it would not come out of the cup...it would not pour. Not sure if it was just way too thick or maybe sat around in that cup so long, it adhered to it. It did taste very good though. I ate every bit, except the croutons; I put them aside, because when I tried to bite in to one of them, I knew if I tried again I would probably chip a tooth. Really gave 3 stars for the awesome service! Sorry about the food experience, but it is all quite true.

The place is only open a couple days a week. Fridays typically are the busiest. I've had better service at other like establishments. The upkeep of the exterior of the building is run down in need of repair as well. It amazes me that they take care of their second location but let the flagship get rundown.

Old school style place. Totally fine. Bar service slow- order 2 drinks at a time! Don’t mind waiting for food once we have our drinks. Calamari and bread very good. Ordered panko crusted lemon pepper haddock. It was a fish fry with lemon pepper sauce on top. Comes with side of pasta. $8.00 up charge for any sauce other than red. Ridiculous. Could have ordered a side cheaper! Steak for $47 was overcooked. $275 for a party of 4? Not at this place. Spend your money elsewhere.

It’s a nice looking restaurant with friendly staff and fair pricing. I had a Guinness and the “Shepard’s pie” which was actually English cottage pie. Traditional Shepards Pie has been made with lamb for nearly 300 years. The potatoes were killer, everything was cooked perfectly but the meat was pretty greasy. I give it a 7/10.

Arrived on time for our 5PM reservation and sat immediately. Finally got served at 6:40PM. Waiter was clearly off his game, but said kitchen lost our order. By then the place was intolerably loud and packed way over capacity. Couldn’t wait to leave.

Service was lacking...we waited 25 minutes for soda and water. Then the waitress copped and attitude and told us that it's busy at Schooners too. Food was great though.

When we come a bit after 5pm and Paul is working and sit at the bar, he tells us he's not ready yet to take our order just our drinks. It's at least until 5:25 . Sorry not acceptable.

In the past we've enjoyed several good meals and service. However, recently we've heard some disgruntled reviews. We went back last night and I must say our group was disappointed. Business was booming, yet the help seemed overwhelmed, even for a Friday night. Several folks around us were making the same observation and feeling disappointed as well. Everyone has a "bad day", but the consistency of recent poor reviews is unfortunate. It may be a while before we return. I hope your experience is better. UPDATE DECEMBER 2024: THE SERVICE AND FOOD ARE EXCELLENT. Rumor has it,they're under new management. Highly recommend.

We've heard great things about this place from family and friends. We went there for dinner on a Thursday. There was only one waitress working who was overwhelmed by the crowd. The chef was unable to prepare the meal I ordered and I had to order something else. The fried seafood of fish,scallops and shrimp was basically tasteless with the exception of the burnt oil it was fried in. We won't waste our time going here again, with all the places to eat in the area.

Just left and had horrible service. Reservation was 7:15 checked in around 6:35. Open tables the whole time we waited Never seated until almost eight and that was only after we asked again about our table. There was at least six empty tables at that time. Waited quite a while until someone asked if we had been waited on and that was only after one of our party said loudly that​we were the forgotten table. Took forever to get soup orders and even longer for salads. People that came in after us with no reservations were already eating and we are still waiting. The waitress was friendly but overall the service was some of the worst we've ever had. The restaurant was not busy so there was no good excuse.

This is my second attempt ordering. I ordered a beer battered fish fry. There was no cole slaw with it and my fish smelled and tasted so fishy I could not eat it. I gave it to my dogs.. The texture was mushy and it smelled it had a slight bleach smell to it. The first time I ordered I got a buffalo fish fry instead of a regular one. Years ago they had really good fish fries. I don't know whats changed. The buffalo wings were good and my sons Grilled chicken sand was ok.

Could not get a drink. Thinking bartender is new. If so, don't leave her alone until she can handle the whole bar. First 5 seats continued to get served, end of bar and tables did not get any attention. Good good

Went on a Friday night. Arrived at 7 PM and was told the wait would be 40-45 minutes. The wait was 1 1/2 hours. Food was good and reasonable but we had our 1 year old grandson with us. Probably won't return.

So, it has been hit and miss here. The gals and I headed here for a fishfry. We had a reservation and were sat right away. 45 minutes for our food to hit the table. Our waiter OBVIOUSLY for got to but our ticket in and never cleared plates. If he did he would have noticed one meal was untouched..

The prices were much more than what I seen online when I checked the day I was going to eat at this restaurant. I believe that the prices provided on the website should be honored due to it not being updated. They only had one waitress and one bartender. We literally had to shout to the waitress in order to get our bill.

We used to love it here a few years ago, but the whole atmosphere and vibe have changed. We were greeted rudely and not paid much attention to. Feels like you need to be a regular to get good service. In addition, the light colored fake wood-look laminate bar is a travesty.

Very disappointed tonight…. We had reservations at 7:00 pm.We were seated almost immediately. Our drinks we order came about 15 minutes after we ordered. Had bread delivered to our table after we asked, no plates to put our bread on. We then ordered soup, which came out in a reasonable time. Dinner on the other hand took forever. We finally got dinner @approximately 8:15. ( the food was very good) I asked for some butter for my potatoes, which never came. We had barely eaten our dinner and the waitress wanted to know if we wanted boxes, she came back and gave us our check. We left at 8 :40 because we were stuffed after eating bread before our dinner came. People who sat down long after we did were eating their dinners while we were still eating bread. The restaurant was so loud that we had difficulty carrying on a conversation.

We came in from out of town, hoping for a fun night of Irish music. The bartender there, who may have been the owner, was actively hostile to us, rude and insulting. I do not know what his personal issues were but we did not need to bear the brunt of them. I will never go there again.

The hostess was busy talking while new people were coming in, then when I asked for the pizza I ordered online I was told they didn’t have the order, then went in the back again found it but they didn’t start three pizzas until 15 mins after they should have been done so I didn’t get my pizza until a half hour from when they were due. Horrible service

We went there tonight at 5:30pm, lots of open tables, we were told the wait was like a half hours so we put our name in. I was with my husband, 5 year old son, and 3 year old daughter. I asked the host how much longer and she looked surprised, she told me 30 min to an hour. I almost lost it, got my kids and began to walk out the door when she said she would seat us right now. She explained to me how hard it was to give a wait time, I expressed that it is not that hard as I have run multiple restaurants. Once we sat, around 6:10pm, we ordered right away. Our server was kind but, very distracted with her family there. The host offered to get us more bread and never came back. We we're there for an hour and a half and only had a roll. Finally our food, calamari, 2 fish fries, spaghetti, and chicken fingers came out a little after 7 and it wasn't that great. Our server never checked on us, once we had the check it took forever to get a box and have our card run. We should have left before we sat. I have been here in the past and had good experiences. I am not sure if there was a change in management, cooks, or what but, this was terrible from the beginning to the end. At this point, we will not be back!

Ordered 2 Reuben sandwichs and was charged $43.20 total for the sandwiches to go. That will be the last time we will ever go there to get anything. The food wasn't that good either. Only decided to go there because they are down the street from where I live. The place was dark on the inside so that you wouldn't see any dirt on the vents or any place else. There isn't enough parking around the place. The customers will park whereever they want, that includes blocking others in the driveways of their houses.

Cancelled our order on Saturday night after we waited for 45 minutes. There was no explanation given. No offer of a future meal or discount. We were starving by the time we were notified of the cancellation. Terrible customer service. Never again. Update 4/30/22 - Well, I decided to give them one more chance. Easy order: Haddock French and Chicken French. Got two Haddock French dinners. That's it, game over.

Went into the restaurant to make reservations for 7pm after not being able to reach them over the phone. Party arrived on time for our 7pm reservations but we’re not seated until 8:20pm. We went to the hostess station to ask about how much longer and the host was rude saying, “Don’t yell at me this isn’t my fault! What do you want me to do? Seat you before the table is set?”. We never raised our voice, we simply wanted to know how much longer we should expect to wait after sitting around for over an hour with no communication from waitstaff. Upon being seated we never received menus, our party of 6 shared the one menu we had been looking at while waiting for our table. We placed our drink order immediately but did not receive our drinks for another 25 minutes. We were not served and leaving the restaurant until after 10pm, with no compensation for the long wait.

How can anyone give this place a good review? It was so dirty, we almost walked out. Bad service. Called ahead to find out about happy hour, then when the check comes, no special prices because we didn’t sit at the bar. What?! NEVER going back.

I had a stuffed stripe steak w/artichoke and spinach. I had more fat on this steak than the actual steak itself. I asked for it to be medium and it came out as well done in spots and rare in other. I told the waitress about it and she said the cook said it was fine. The potato’s were cold as if they came out of a refrigerator. The salad was not even a half dish full. The waitress was horrible. She never came and gave us anything more to drink. She had no common knowledge how to be a waitress. Don’t go there.

Went on date night for a fish fry tonite. Server Bella starts off telling us she will have to seat us in the back like that was a bad thing or a time out. Seats were horrible, moving everytime the person behind me moved. Husband ordered fishfry which was nothing but grease. I ordered the Angus Roast with mixed veggies. Thinking something similar to a pot roast, and literally was served a huge portion of hard, raw diced peas and carrots. Told Bella about the veggies and she apologized and walked away. Not even 5 minutes into receiving our entrees she asks if we want to-go containers. I said No. Mind you my plate has not been touched. Never bothered to ask if I would like something else or if the food was ok. Then 3 minutes after that she brings the check to the table. It felt like we were being rushed out of there and werent even full like the letter on the menu from the owners states they want you to leave happy and fat. I edited this review which was positive when we visited 7 yrs ago. Very sad that I left hungry, still paid $26 for something I did not eat. If Bella cannot pick up on customer satisfaction something is wrong. I will not go here again and waste my money.

Every time I come here goes more and more down hill. Ordered chicken Riggies. Chicken was like day old hard Chinese food chicken and veggies were raw. Kitchen staff playing rap music. Will not be returning any longer
