Very fun and tasty throw-back drive-in. Serves local favorite Zweigle's pork hots (and red) hot dogs, burgers, chicken fingers, etc. Service was friendly and fast. Nothing fancy, but plenty of old fashioned charm and yummy grill food that's definitely a cut above fast food chain fare. Well worth a stop.

The thin, grilled ground round hamburger that overhangs the bun with meat sauce is a Rochester classic. You can add cheese and or a hard roll. Soft serve for dessert. Old car nights in summer. Opened 1956.

Hard to compare to what I remember 30 years ago, but the general theme and menu is still the same. The food is good...it isn't high brow chef kiss, so just accept that you stopped at a burger joint on the beach. If you're not from upstate, you probably don't know what meat sauce is and maybe never had a white hot. So try that and enjoy. Still very good! Friendly service and can be a bit of a free for all when busy, but its part of the beachside charm!

I've eaten here for 45 years. The food is always good. But the service is sometimes lacking, and the decor has been exactly the same for 45 years.... I would still recommend if you love Rochester meat sauce on your burgers.. Smokey and delicious!

Quite dirty outside, garbage left out in the front, worker smoking by the front door. My sundae wasn’t much of a Sundae. Huge amount ice cream barely any caramel- the worker seemed to be struggling to get it out of the bottle so didn’t give me much. Sundaes I’ve had anywhere else are loaded with sauce, a topping and whip cream. I had barely any caramel sprinkles and no whip cream even though I asked what their sundaes had on them.

This was a unique experience. There was no real organization to the madness. It was a confusing ordering system but we placed our order. We wanted to try this place as it seems like a stable of Rochester. We ordered fries and a chilli cheese dog. I also ordered a small cup of the meat sauce they put on top of the garbage plate as I wanted to try it. The chilli cheese dog was very moist and salty. It was not our favourite. The fries were standard frozen and deep fried fries. The meat sauce was very runny and very underwhelming. My mom and I didn’t feel good after eating. Would not go back.

I hate to write a bad review because we have come to Schaller's for over 20 years, but I have to let management know about today's two garbage plates. A full inch of liquid at the bottom of our plates and undercooked fries. MANAGEMENT: please oversee the food you are putting out. We have many places to choose from and can't say we'll be back after this. It's not my nature to ask for a refund ($32 with two cokes); I'd rather this be a lesson so that quality can hopefully be re-established. Disappointing.
