I really enjoyed my food, although the quiche could have had a little seasoning. The staff were all very friendly and inviting.

The staff is always friendly. The food is always great! We had an employees birthday party at the rockwall location and the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Last year we catered from here for an office lunch the week of thanksgiving. It was fabulous right down to the gravy!

I'm happy they're not closer because I would probably eat there at least twice a week. I have truly enjoyed the tomato soup, cream of mushroom, country potato soup, and live the French Onion soup. I have eaten the Croque Monsieur, Chicken Parisian, and Grilled Cheese. I just love the Caesar salad. I have not been disappointed with any food I have purchased here. This is one of my favorite places.

It's a cozy French bakery atmosphere great for all sorts of groups! I love coming here for lunch!

What a gem of a place! You order your food at the counter and they bring it out to you. We sat outside on their cute patio. I had the croissant breakfast sandwich with ham. It tasted wonderful. My only complaint is that the ham is sliced paper thin and griddled so it was a little crunchy. But all in all it was wonderful and too much to eat it all. I would definitely go back when I'm in town again. And they also have a bakery with wonderful looking pastries. I will try that next time I go back there.

Delicious meals and a warm, inviting atmosphere inside the cafe. I wish there was more direction when it comes to ordering (for first-time visitors). A simple greeting at the door would help navigate how to order at the counter. Overall, a good experience!

First time at la Madeleine and I was having a bit of trouble ordering,but their staff was so friendly, that it made our experience so pleasant. The food was so delicious and filling. I had the tomato basil soup with half a sandwich. And took some baked goodies home! The cafe was very clean and they followed social distancing requirements as well.

We did not eat here. However, I ordered my daughters favorite cake from here for her birthday, sache torte. It is amazing. It's not too sweet or rich. It's chocolate with raspberry and delicate pieces of white chocolate on each piece. The restaurant was very clean and beautiful on the inside and outside. It is in a busy area so be prepared for that. We go back every year in May, and it's an hour drive for us.

I like to come in for an afternoon treat, usually a latte and maybe a pastry. I appreciate the service; Dani is always very attentive and does a great job. Beats going to the usual green apron chain everybody else seems to prefer. And they have "happy hour" for coffee and similar drinks!

La Madeleine serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu contains gluten-free and vegetarian options. There is also a children's menu. The food is superb. We had turkey sandwiches with pesto pasta on the side. Best of all, however, are the deserts. The Lemon Madeleines, chocolate croissants, and key lime cheesecake are to die for. But really, any dessert there is a winner.

I don't remember the last time I sat down and actually ate inside, but their pastries, in my opinion, have never let me down. I go between the coconut cake or the fruit tart, never any complaints with those 2.

Well-managed restaurant with good food and friendly staff. Outdoor seating available. Bakery, breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Highly recommend the Quinoa Kale Salad and the Shrimp Crepe. The Tomato Soup is among the best I've ever had.

Everything is always so fresh and the soups are to die for they have sandwiches that they create are just incredible and it seems like there's a new one all the time I love La Madeleine

I've always gotten a full bowl of French onion soup with half a sandwich. This time I got a whole sandwich and got less than half a bowl of soup when I brought it up they said it's just for dipping the sandwich. Tomato basil soup is so good. They still have free bread if you ask for it. All the tarts are delicious.

Update 11/2025-What a great breakfast! I've never had breakfast here before, only lunch and dinner. I ordered the French country breakfast which came with 3 bacon, a perfectly cooked croissant, a potato gallete, 2 tomato slices and scrambled eggs. I was so impressed with the quality I thought I would update my review. So delicious, the bacon was perfectly done and juicy, the croissant was crispy on the outside with a soft middle, super fresh. I sat next to the fireplace on a cold day and thoroughly enjoyed myself for a very reasonable price. Num num. 2024- It was clean today, they had their food out in the lunch service area so I could see what they had. I had their salad plate, everything seemed fresh, the lady assembled the Caesar salad in front of me. She was enthusiastic and nice. They have soups, pastries, sandwiches and a lot of desserts. I enjoy their coffee here, and the croissants are good. I like the fact they have mini desserts for just 3 spoonfuls of sweetness, it's just right after a big meal. Huge fireplace with a fire in it today. Only suggestion: French Cafe music would be lovely, to add to the experience. I like the exterior building, looks like they put time into it. Patio is beautiful and perfect for a ladies get together. They have French wine and a happy hour 3-6 pm Mon-Thur. Fun and relaxing.

The atmosphere of this Cafe is warm and inviting. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I only had a croissant and coffee so it's tough to judge fully. However it was the best croissant I've ever had. This is saying something since I've spent years living and touring Europe and Canada. I'll update this when I go here in a few weeks. UPDATE: Came back last week and this week (twice) and selected several pastries. They're so good! The food is always excellent! I think it'll be a must-have each month when I visit the area. NOTE: I have changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars because of the consistent excellent experiences with the restaurant, its staff, and especially their food. I love coming here!! I look forward to my next visit!

Had a wonderful experience today, the customer service was great and extremely friendly. Not busy, had the best seat by the fire. Today the food was excellent, and even brought some jars of Tomato Basil home. Couldn’t have asked for a better lunch.

I absolutely love coming here with my sisters, especially on rainy or colder days. It’s the perfect cozy spot to relax and catch up. The atmosphere is warm, and makes you want to stay awhile. We usually order cappuccinos and a few pastries, then sit by the chimney and talk for hours. The half sandwich, salad with the tomato basil soup, such a comforting and delicious combo too.

Pleasant cafe with relaxing music and warm lighting. Good for couples or families with teens. Get some jelly and tomato soup to take home. Fast service and good coffee. It's nice for a cafe ride with bicycle club, and near a book store if you like book shopping or to read at lunch time.

My wife and I had breakfast. It was good. I would have given the service 5 stars, but the person who took our order did not pay attention when my wife informed him of her tomato allergy. Needless to say, her meal came out with a tomato garnish. The server who brought our plates out reacted quickly and she received a new meal. Which why I am still giving 4 stars.

Delicious pastries ( the coconut cake and chocate mousse are my favorites) and quiche. Love the quinoa salada and the strawberries with cream. Every time I stop by, the staff are efficient, polite and the place is clean. However, I went to a gathering on the bigger room and it had a very strong smell of sewage. They tried to fix with some sprays but it did not do anything. Hopefully they can fix the issue.

I got carry out. Service was super fast and friendly. It sure would be nice tho if you got as much soup when you order a bowl as you do when you get a bowl inside. And it appears they are afraid they might give you some cheese with it. Seriously? You bothered to bag that??Give me some cheese please. Especially when I even asked for extra. That's you clue that I will pay extra!The girl waiting on me didn't bag it. She was grabbing pre-made bags. I also ordered Strawberries Romanoff and there was barely enough sauce for them. There used to be more given. Perhaps there doesn't need to be as much as there used to be, but now you're getting a little too skimpy.

Food is always fresh and delicious. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Only critique is that dishes are never the same twice. I order the same field greens salad and it's always different. The tomato bisque is always good though. Very creamy and tangy. And who doesn't want to take home some lemon madelines.

Love the bakery and the sweets, but everything else is too greasy for me and heavy. Good place to eat if you’re extra hungry!

Ate here late on 15 Oct as we began a 2-week trip. Got there about an hour before closing, so they were out of several items. Service by the young staff was not unfriendly, but not top-notch, and the feeling was they all wanted to wrap up and go home. Condition of the restaurant was okay, but nothing special. Food met our needs, but could have been better.

Nice place to have a quick brunch. Food is decent but on the expensive side. I do love their coffees tho!

This was our first time coming here and enjoyed the visit. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. The ordering was a little confusing. The only part I didn't like was that I ordered soup with my sandwich, but you pick up your soup up front and then go to your table, I would prefer that the soup comes out with my sandwich (which I didn't ask if it could have been done). We were able to sit by the fireplace so I sat my soup close to it to stay warm 😉. My sandwich was good, it had a good light Caesar dressing flavor and the lettuce was fresh and chicken was tender, the bread was good but was just a little too hard/toasted. The tomato soup was a little thicker than I would have liked it but the flavor was good as well, you can taste the herbs. Their fruit spreads were a hit for me though, they were delish on the breads and you can purchase a jar of them if you wanted to. My hubby had the French toast which he said were pretty good in flavor but will likely order the syrup and strawberry sauce on the side because the slices were thin that the bread ended up being soggy after a while. We would definitely come back and try other menu items.

I did a takeout order around 2:15p on yesterday. I asked a shift lead for a menu and she act like she was scared to touch me while handing me the menu. It was no need for us to touch anyways. SMH. Anyways the young girl at the counter made my experience better. She was so soft spoken and sweet but she packed my big order really well. The shift lead needs a better attitude or she need to stay in the back with her grumpy self.

Love the food here, the pastries are even better. Sadly, they switched to Pepsi, but that’d the only complaint I have, which isn’t on this location’s responsibility. Staff was professional, and reliable. Clean tables and atmosphere. I would recommend

Went to this location because the Caesar salad at another location lately was awesome. I have been at Rockwall location before but it’s been awhile and this salad is what I always get. This time dark meat was used instead of white meat and had very little dressing, I only ate half of it. It WAS lunchtime, walking thru the serving line the floor was very sticky, it actually pulled my sandal off and I somewhat lost my balance. I told the lady serving the salads about the floor. She said loud enough for others in line to hear that there was nothing she could do about it right now because it was lunchtime and there was no one available to take care of it. Probably won’t go to this location again because now I know the salad I love has changed

We waited a long time for our two French Dip sandwiches and when I asked about them the cook still hadn’t made them. They apologized, said the cook was new and they had online orders. The service is hit and miss here.

I had the strawberries romanoff and the romanoff cream was runny. Also had the pasta and it had to much sauce and to much feta. The French dip was very good though.

I come here with my daughter at least every other week. The food tastes pretty good, although you can taste that the tomato and broccoli soups are definitely pre packaged. The onion soup is good but extremely salty. The tomato soup is the only tomato soup my daughter will eat! I would give 5 stars in atmosphere alone but the service just isn’t very friendly, and I can see very clearly it’s from under staffing. It’s the same person serving us almost every time. I feel bad for her. She looks flustered and overwhelmed and it’s not even her fault. Hire more staff y’all. The manager? Wonderful dude. Super nice and friendly. I love that we get free bread. Often there is no butter or just a few at the bottom that are sticky with jam for some reason. With more staff, and better stocking and cleaning this would be an easy 5 star location.

The food was fine, little pricey for what you get, but taste very good. The service wasn't great with our cashier, but the manager we spoke with afterwards was polite. In all, I'm not a fan of this place, but I'm a dude, so that probably makes sense.

As a former employee it’s sad to see this place go downhill. Bakery doesn’t want to answer the phone and it’s very unprofessional when you can tell they’re having conversations about customers before you hang up the phone. Also food wise my soup was barely filled half way and the bread to my grilled cheese was hard and not made fresh at all.

First time there. Staff not helpful at all. No butter or jelly offered at all. Fell bad about leaving a tip. Had to pay at ordering.

I haven't been to an LA Madeleine in quite some time. This particular location is doing things differently. My husband ordered the quiche, and it didn't arrive for 45 minutes. I was very disappointed in the salmon and vegetables. The experience was not good.

Nobody welcome you .we figure out everything and when you ask is not the greatest respouses for a new customer. The cashier guy was very rude . I take soup spoons and the first 3 were filthy. That area of the soda machine smell not good. And there where 3 tables full of plates. What I can say good is the food was delicious I have a French dip and .y wife croquete madam. Mushroom cream and potato soup were delicious. I hope you improve your customer care.

I am not pleased at all this morning with my breakfast! I have been going to this location (in Rockwall) for over 10yrs but this was the worst breakfast… when I opened my container I was a little taken back. I eat crepes all the time and these were very sloppily prepared and after 3 bites I couldn’t bare anymore! I just looks totally gross!!!

We came here just to have a cup of coffee and a cup of tea. It took them forever to make and bring tea. They brought regular tea size even in the menu there was a large size (and we paid for large one). I will avoid la Madeleine in future.

Toast was swimming in olive oil. Had to go and ask for the croissant. The croissant was old and cold. Definitely not up to expectations from other locations. Not worth the price at all.

9-28-2024 Great food, But over 75% of the Tables are piled with Dirty dishes. They are definitely not under staffed. The employees are young kids on their Cell phones,sitting on the counters ,& talking

The food was decent but I ordered a bowl of soup rather than a cup of soup so I would get a lot. See the photo attached, the bowl of soup is tiny! Maybe 6 oz? It was over $8.00 just for this soup. I won’t be ordering again!

Usually I LOVE La Madeline, but live out in Greenville so never get the chance to eat it. Paid $20 for pickup and this is ALL the portion I got? Seriously? In store the plate is HUGE. This is really disappointing and sad. Didn’t choose any different size. Didn’t even notice until I got home.

One star because it is a cozy place to hang out in. They have a fireplace on and running and cozy seating. However, the food is overpriced+ the serving sizes are small. My dad ordered a glass of orange juice and a tiny croissant sandwich for about $11 or so. The small sandwich did not come with any sides. From what I remember, the people in line in front of me were just ordering salads and small soups for around $30+. In fact, after our meal, my husband said, I think I need to make a pit stop at "In-n-out' because he was still hungry. He ordered the "Country French Breakfast". Yes, the croissants are tasty(they have a bakery) but if you're looking for bigger portion sizes and reasonable prices(this is what I usually look for) this is not the place. I won't be returning.

So, gave this terrible restaurant another try . one word stay away . place is horrible we were the only customer in the place and took for ever to receive cold food . prices have gone way up and size of dishes cut in half . $20.00 spent just to have a small salad and glass (plastic cup ) of tea .

Very cold, it was warmer outside. We were never given our "spoon" for our order, to no fault of our own. We did finally get one item from our order, it was cold and the avocado was brown. My partners order never came. After 25 minutes of waiting we politely notified them, we were going to have to leave. The manager said "the spoon was on the other side of the counter, that is why you never got your food." Does not help the service, cold food, and the other parties food that never came. Not a pleasant first time experience in a freezing cold restaurant with other wise good reviews. Must have been a fluke day. Was given a refund for my birthday breakfast. Makes a great mimosa!

My husband and I eat here often and I am sad too say that tonight will be our last. The store was filthy and I am not just talking about the lobby, behind the counter was as bad if not worse. I was going to have a Cesar salad and the lady behind the counter pulled out a dirty bowl to mix it in. The bowl still had the fixings from the previous salad they made still in it. There were a couple of bowls sitting on the counter behind her and all of them were dirty. We got there at 815 and there were only two other couple in the store so there was time to at least clean the salad mixing bowls. Once we sat down they brought our sandwiches out without the sides and we finally went up to ask for them a few minutes later. While my husband was waiting they were dusting the ceiling and the tops of the work station with a dusting broom right over the food line. Another person was changing the trash bag out and then reached into the cooler with out even skipping a beat. One of the ladies came out and started dusting the ceilings right around where we sat eating and then stopped when she saw us looking at her. I know it was later in the evening but good hygiene around the food if nothing else should be required. I hope this was just an off night and they had a super busy day to explain this situation.

The food was pretty cold, I asked for a new cup of warmer soup and it was never brought. My son absolutely hates mayo and I clearly asked for no mayo and yet it was covered in mayo. In addition glass drink cups were very dirty and there were no forks. I will unfortunately not be returning.

Horrible horrible experience. We are regulars and recently this location has gone down hill. Not sure if there’s has been a change in management but after todays visit we will NOT be back. $70 for the cold soggy mess that the three of us received was out of control. I paid these prices at Disney recently and at least got a half way decent meal. Sorry but this is it for us with this La Madeline. We’ll go the McKinney location instead.

Last night, my wife and I attempted to eat at La Madeleine. We arrived 19 mins before their stated closing time of 9pm CST. We were in the mood for soup and had no intention of lingering for an hour; just a quick bite after a long day at work. We were promptly told by two employees that they were closing and would only take a to-go order, and that the front bar (where the soup is) was already shut down for the night. As a former restaurant manager, I found this completely unacceptable. You should serve your clients during operating hours, just like you keep the doors unlocked. Forget the fact that we have frequented this restaurant faithfully for years...basic customer service is being open when you say you're open and serving every client who walks in the door (during business hours). BTW: We went over to Saltgrass, just 30 mins before their closing, and got a great bowl of potato soup. We were welcomed, seated, and served promptly, and we left a good tip.

Definitely the worst location I’ve ever been to. They were out of almost everything we tried to order. So clearly, the manager is not placing the orders properly. All the soups were cold. They sent out incorrect food. The steamed broccoli wasn’t even cooked or properly seasoned. Green beans had no seasoning. Mashed potatoes were dry. The chicken crêpe had bell peppers in it. French food doesn’t even come with bell peppers. These people have no idea what they are doing and don’t even care.

Ordered a French dip and soup. Apparently the French place doesn't know that a French dip has the dip...no au jus and maybe one slice of beef means I got a baguette for $14. Not ever again, I'll get mine from Arby's next time, I can get two actual sandwiches rather than just a roll.

The worst Quiche I ever had. It wasn’t freshly baked, taste was bland & they didn’t even serve it warm. The french onion soup didn’t taste good either.

I ordered a pesto penne pasta with chicken for delivery. I work 12 hr shifts at a hospital. the food that arrived has the tiniest pieces of chicken ever......like think maybe a quarter of a half breast of chicken. This was not worth my money!

Employees have an attitude problem. Food is mediocre. Doesn't even qualify as French food more like American fast food imitation of French food. No pictures cause that's how bad it was.

Our family has been loyal customers of La Madeleine in Rockwall for years, often visiting at least twice a week. Unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill recently, and our last few visits have left us truly disappointed. The cappuccino was cold and completely lacking foam—not what you’d expect from a café known for French-style drinks. The sandwiches were dry and flavorless, with ingredients that seemed cheap and thrown together—almost like cardboard. It was nothing like the fresh, satisfying meals we used to enjoy here. What made the experience worse was the attitude of the manager. Rather than being helpful or friendly, they were dismissive and unprofessional toward customers. It’s disheartening to see a place we once loved lose both its quality and hospitality. Sadly, we’ve decided we won’t be returning. We hope La Madeleine takes this feedback seriously and works to bring back the standards that once made it special.

If I was able to give this place a “zero” I would’ve. The staff have no idea what gluten free is or if the food is safe for anyone that has celiac. Also, went into the bathroom and one of the staff workers was so sick, she didn’t wash her hands once she was done. She wiped her nose on the back of her hand then had the audacity to ask what would like to eat. We said, nothing and left. Even if we wanted to eat there, the place was piled high with dirty dishes. in the mean while the staff were arguing about who was responsible for cleaning the tables. This place is beyond disgusting and expensive. I mean come on $4.75 for what looks like a frozen turn over. Get it together!

Came in to get an entree size Chicken Caesar salad to go. The sweet lady working to go handed me my bag, and I'm so thankful I looked inside before leaving. The amount of salad I received was equivalent to a typical house salad. I could've held all of it in one hand. I asked if this was it, and she said yes. I told her I could not pay $13 for that. She understood and was very polite. Apparently, there are new people at the corporate level who came in and changed portion sizes and other things about the menu. The place was still busy, but for me, it is just not worth it. I noticed last time I came and dined in house that the salad was smaller. But goodness, to charge $13 for a handful of lettuce and 10 little slices of chicken is absurd. I won't be returning, which is very disappointing because this is a fave place of mine.

Went to try this place on saturday 11/29/2025. No one greeted us, I let the gal at the bakery, that this was our first time..she looked at me and said” just get a tray, it like a cafeteria.” So we moved over to the trays, again no one greeted us, they just keep looking at us like “what do you want?” Needless to say we left

The employees were nice. But that wasn't enough for us to dine in. I remember I came here a couple of years ago, and I had a great experience. I came in around 8 pm because I was around the area. Unfortunately, don't expect them to have the house made lemonade nor get refills on your tea. They dumped the tea, and our party of 4 weren't able to get refills. Keep in mind we were eating our food. Everyone was cleaning and weren't serving espresso coffees. That overall ruined the experience, and we weren't able to enjoy our food. If you want to enjoy your food, go to the location in Allen. A total waste of time and money. We felt very uncomfortable to see everyone cleaning while we were just trying to enjoy our meals.

Asked someone to clean our table but no one came. Most tables had dirty dishes on it. Definitely so disappointed, was expecting more. If we come back her it would be because the food, the food was good.

Maria the manager was extremely rude about my online order for coffee, was very confusing in her explaining, then charged me another 4 dollars on top of what I paid in the app for an extra shot which wasn’t what I ordered in the app. Coffee didn’t even turn out good.

We arrived near the end of a lunchtime rush. One me.ber of my party waited 30 minutes before checking back with the person at the register only to discover that her order still had not been prepared. We decided not to place our order for take out meals and dessert and left disgruntled. A server casually dropped by with the late order and a card offering a discount for our next visit which I doubt we'll bother to use.

It’s unfortunate how this place has gone downhill. Place was empty on a Saturday around 6pm and now I know why. It started with dirty food trays. Trays with lettuce on them, coke splattered on one and just dirty. We ordered our food and they didn’t bring most of the order out. They had forgotten the soup was that I had requested it come out with the food, no chips, no lettuce on our sandwiches. I went to grab napkins, and canisters were empty. No lids for the drinks. Dirty tables throughout the restaurant. Trash on the floor. I hope upper management reads these reviews. I’ve seen some of the other reviews and they replied to please contact them. I don’t need to contact anyone. I just want them to fix the problems.

The restaurant is dirty. The food is left out uncovered. There was a staff person playing in the community soup with the ladle today. Just scooping it out and watching it drip back in. She wasn’t stirring it either. It was odd. Staff seems bothered or too busy if you ask for something reasonable. This is the only La Madeline around that is shabby and disappointing. It’s almost as if it’s a whole different brand than the others in the area. Such a bummer because it should be so much better and you shouldn’t have to leave the island to find quality.
