Opinions de Pho Viet Round Rock
Pho Viet is a gem for Vietnamese food lovers in Austin. The broth is rich, aromatic, and clearly made with care — the kind that instantly comforts you. Their pho, banh mi, and fresh spring rolls are always spot-on. The portions are generous, prices fair, and the staff is kind and efficient. Perfect for a quick, satisfying meal any day of the week.
I want to say that Pho Viet is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Hands down. At one point we were eating here once a week. If I didn't travel so much I would still probably hear once a week. For the better part of 8 years depending if it's cold or hot we choose either the Pho(ribeye steak with brisket for the wife, I get though everything one with tripe and cartilage). When we want (non Pho) we gets the bun with lemongrass beef and egg roll. We always get the Vietnamese coffee as well. My wife likes to drink hers throughout the mill. I let mine sit until the very end and I have it as a dessert. This is a family-run business from grandmother down to grandkids. Every year they take a 2-week vacation and the store is shut down. They are a blast to talk to and they remember who you are and they know I'm going to get the red chili paste and eat half a bottle. They are looking for wait staff and kitchen help I believe. Also they do not take American Express. Definitely stop here and eat. Probably catch me there one day.
We live less than 10 minutes from this place and have never been in until just recently. My only regret is that we haven’t been coming here for years! The food was great, the service was friendly, and the restaurant was nice and clean. Our server was very polite and made a great recommendation. I had the pan fried noodles with beef, chicken, and shrimp, and my girlfriend had soup with tons of noodles and shrimp dumplings. The food came out super fast fast, there are awesome soup spoons available on the table, and hoisin, soy sauce, and sriracha to add as you please. This is definitely a great place for the family or for date night!
Always my go to spot for bun Bo hue, very flavorful. Vermicelli with pork and egg rolls were really good too. Can’t go wrong with spring rolls- very tender and fresh, great peanut dipping sauce. Vietnamese iced coffee a nice accompaniment to the meal. Definitely recommend, quick and attentive service!
Among many pho restaurants near us, Pho Viet is definitely one of the top 3 in my opinion. The taste has been consistent through the years, and the same goes for the service and the atmosphere. If there is anything I can think of that needs to be improved, I would say is the size of the Pho since I could never differentiate the Normal vs. Large other than the price (Yes, the bowl is larger and contains more soup but the amount of noodles and meat in it appears to be same 🤔). That being said, I do have to point out that I was pleasantly surprised in my recent visit how that had changed. In addition to the usual bowl size difference, the larger Pho size did contain visibly more noodles and meat when compare to the normal size... I would need to go back one more time to verify but in my book, that moves Pho Viet to Top 2! 😅 June 2023 update: Today I ordered vermicelli (B3: Grilled Lemongrass Pork, Egg Roll and Shrimp Vermicelli) and it was as excellent as I remember. Highly recommended. October 2023: Excellent as usual. ☺️👍🏼
One of my favorite local restaurants! I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The lunch specials are the best; they comes with rice, an egg roll, vegetables, and soup (plus the main item)! Pictured are the lunch special with Beef & Basil, and the Combination Chicken & Shrimp Clay Pot. Extremely fast service too!
This is by far the best Vietnamese restaurant around. Their Pho broth is such perfection and so rich in flavor. It's so good you don't want to share. Just like the Thai iced tea. The vermicelli / bun is the kind of food that gives you good dreams for days after. Highly recommend anything with that lemongrass glory. Want to step it up? Get the shaken beef. There are no regrets on that plate. The staff treats you like family- warm and inviting on top of quick. Easy, well priced, and delightful experience whether it's lunch or dinner, dine in or take out. I will continue to eat here as often as I can. Pictured is the lemongrass pork lunch special.
Absolutely delicious, I had the eye round steak pho (the lean meat option) and could not get enough of their in-house chili garlic oil. Everything was fresh and lovely. The server was great about letting us eat on the patio even in February. I was able to navigate to the patio and inside to the ladies room in my manual wheelchair without too much trouble. I appreciated that the patio was covered from the sun with good air flow, though being near the highway there was occasionally loud noise from traffic. I'm only giving four stars because their vegetarian pho uses chicken broth, which—it's wonderful that they're up-front about that! Many places aren't. But I probably won't bring my vegetarian loved ones here until there's a veggie broth option. Which I hope they offer, because my friend had the tofu spring rolls and vegetarian pho (she can eat chicken) and absolutely raved about their flavor. The spring rolls especially looked more elaborate and flavorful than any other tofu spring rolls I've seen!
Great Mom and Pop shop. Clean Clean Clean. Ordered the vermicelli with pork and egg rolls. Brisket Pho with well done Flank. Both dishes were excellent and well portioned. Competitive area for this type of cuisine. This place holds its own giving their loyal customers the consistancy of their Vietnamese cuisine through out the years.
Not my favorite place. Went here for the first time. They have decent prices for lunch, and portions are pretty big. A ordered Stir Fried Lemongrass shrimp. Shrimp and rice was good, but they put ok much onions. Spring rolls with shrimps was very good. Mediocre service. This place is a no for me.
Restaurant looks clean and organized. We were seated right away, and give him a few minutes to look at the menu over. The food was good, and came out in about 5 minutes from ordering. But I expected more given the ratings it has. I asked for grilled lemongrass pork, butt did not taste lemongrass in my dish. I know water was from tap, but it had an strong after taste.
I ordered the seafood pho and was told it was good by the server. She brought my food over and I asked about the seafood and asked to change it to the beef pho and she said she wouldn’t be able to take it off my tab even then. I talked to the manager and she said the food was already made so I have to pay for it. I’m practically paying $16+ for rice noodles and imitation crab with 2 pieces of shrimp, and 2 pieces of calamari.
Ordered for takeaway tonight to try a restaurant my we've not been to yet and were hoping that the food we get would would match the pictures from Yelp and google. Well we were wrong. I didn't expect to spend $20 to assault my tastebuds tonight. The shaken beef we got was a pretty small portion (imho already not worth the $20) but if it had tasted better we might've looked past that but we got what amounted to be mostly burnt and bitter tasting pieces of beef.
