We came here because they have the cheapest bento boxes. Did not disappoint and was better than expected! Loved that it came with fruit and we were offered free ice cream too. Definitely coming back.

Great food and very nice staff. I went with my friends and I recommend getting the lunch special spicy hand rolls and tonkotsu ramen. Definitely will go again.

Service was quick and friendly. The Server was helpful and timely with all our food. Our Sushi Roll tasted fresh and flavorful as well as our bento boxes. The Sushi Chef is a long term employee easily 20 years and is outstanding. This is my 2nd visit in a month and was just as great as the other visit. There are many sushi restaurants in Elk Grove and New ones every week but Osaka has been consistently excellent over the years. On Wed and Thursday they offer a dine in lunch special of buy 3 rolls and get a fourth one free.

New ownership is amazing! Great people, great service. I've been visiting here for over 15 years and the food is great 99% of the time which is important for sushi. It is comfortable and we often celebrate birthdays here which we just did last weekend.

Great portion sizes, attentive service, scrumptious food, and wallet-friendly prices. Osaka is a fantastic place for a family dinner. There were 10 of us for dinner and we've done this before. In fact, we have had celebration dinners at this location for many years. Always love it and leave full.

The person serving me recommended the Jordan Roll and I can confidently say it did not disappoint. The salmon was soft and delicate and the combination of rice, avocado and cucumber in the sushi roll really elevated the taste. The wasabi, pickled ginger and salad were all tasty add ons too. Also ordered their raspberry ice tea and it was immaculate. Not too sweet, not too much raspberry, but just right.

" when a new guest arrives. The servers are friendly and attentive. I still go alone every one to 2 wks, for a great meal, nice atmosphere and kindness! Old review~ Bento 🍱 boxes for lunch as I don’t eat raw fish like the rest of my family…. My family loves the sushi 🍣 and if I dine alone which is often. I take sushi rolls to the family immediately after. Have to say a local chain has been very disappointing with take out and reopening so I’m glad Osaka remains the local favorite for me and the fam! Arigato!

It was my first time for my API graduation at CRC. My second mom brought me here for my celebration. The sushis were so good!

I had the Bento Box and a Spicy Tuna Roll. It was all pretty good. But the Sushi rolls seemed pricey to me. The Spicy Tuna Roll was ~13, and I'm used to that being a cheaper roll. It was all tasty though.

Great service in a good location. The restaurant is clean and roomy. The sushi rolls were excellent. However, I ordered beef sukiyaki and it was mediocre. I felt there was too much cabbage and bamboo overpowering the beef flavor in the broth. Perhaps I ordered the wrong entree. However, my friend's teriyaki chicken bento box was very good, using white meat only. Overall a good place to try, especially after watching a movie at the local theater.

Really good Sesame Chicken that is flavorful, moist, and still has crunchy breading. The restaurant is clean and the staff are very attentive. There is a lot of variety to the menu as well. Don't forget to look at the little section with the sake cocktails. It is a bit pricey for what you get, but there are specials on certain days. Also, not all the food is exceptional, but I recommend the sesame chicken and the salad because the house dressing is great.

We came on a Thursday for dinner and we waited 50 minutes for the rolls to come out, they only had 2 waitresses working and lots of DoorDash orders waiting as well. Sushi rolls were good, buy 2 rolls get 3rd free (Mon-Thursday), if it’s not for this deal I wouldn’t go here for dinner because the wait was too long

The sushi bar at New Osaka is great - I highly recommend. The sushi chefs are on point and super friendly and welcoming, as are the staff. I love sitting at the sushi bar with them. The specials are pretty good -including the two for one beers, and the buy 2 rolls get one free ! (The scallop roll and the tempura jalapeno slices are yummy !) They've become our favorite first stop on our date night dinner and a movie dates ♥️

My wife and I love eating here. Food is great...service on the other hand can be a bit on the low side. Last time we visited the server only came out once after food was served....to give us our tab. I had to grab another server/bus boy to get a refill on our drinks. We were seated next to the kitchen entrance and every time I looked up for help it seemed like 3-4 of the servers / bus boys were just standing around talking or messing around on their phones. If the service was more on top of things I'd give a 4-5 stars. But right now they don't seem to care.

It was fine. They were understandably busy as it was the 4th of July weekend. With as busy as they were, the service was good. The food was just OK, though. It seemed about 80% of the rolls were built around fried shrimp. I'll probably go back. Maybe it was an off day.

Update: the rolls seem more appropriately sized. We've eaten there a few times since I posted the original review. It's no longer a go-to, but they have always had great sushi roll options and will substitute ebi for panko shrimp to make many of their rolls gluten free. I used to consider this a 5 star sushi restaurant. I still want to, but the last time we ordered our favorite rolls (we always do take out) and got them home, we found that they were half the size that they normally are... At the same price! Without any warning or anything we got half as much for the same price we always pay. And they're already on the high end for sushi. When i talked to the manager, he just said that had a new chef and were cutting back on rice. Well, it was more than rice that reduced the rolls. While he did eventually grant a partial refund, for which I'm grateful, we were made to feel like there was nothing abnormal about our situation and we should just be ok with the sudden change. I certainly understand the economics of small business, but this approach reeks of poor customer service. We'll be thinking hard before choosing to go there again, if we do.

The sushi rolls are good size and tasted decent. The beef teriyaki I had was a little on the burnt side so it had a bit too much of a char taste for me. The salmon was dry. Overall the food was okay for me. The service was great! We had a big party and they were very nice and accommodating.

Food was alright, service made us wait for an hour before they even took our drink order, and that was only because we went and asked them to take the order. After that another hour+ went by without us receiving even our drinks. Really bad service it was never like this before they changed ownership.

Worst California roll I’ve ever had. This is an actual photo of what they gave me. $16 for my meal. Had to use a microscope to see the meat in there. Basically a rice cookie. So dissatisfied. Literally could not eat this. Feeding the half a spoonful of crab to my cat tonight.

I order chef sashimi special and the chef didn't even cut half of the salmon. He left the large portion of the fish uncut. I have never been to any sushi restaurant that make this kind of mistake. The the quality of the fish wasn't fresh...

I ordered to go. I got the chef sashimi, the spider roll, and the beef teriyaki. The sashimi is below average. The roll is 95% rice. We couldn't chew the beef teriyaki long enough to be able to eat. Our to-go order did not have any utensils or soy sauce.

Service was not good. We came during lunch hour and it was not busy but had to wait for 20 to 30 minutes for our food. We ordered 3 rolls, the lady never told her about 50% off roll if we ordered 4. Our total came up to 70 dollars, just 3 roll. The sign only says 50% off roll and never stated 4 or more roll! First and last.

We wanted to give place a try. It turned out a horrible experience. I waited more than 35 minutes for my foods to come out. While my wife and kid had finish their. Not once the server check in with us to see how were doing. I end up canceled my order due to wait too long and bad service. Will never come back nor recommend any of my friends here.
