In Nov 2022 this firm informed me about a some of money that was due to me from the State of California. I was skeptical at first, but they worked with me every step of the way, including expediting my payment by at least 6 months. I couldn't be happier with them and my unexpected windfall! Update Feb 2023 Pettinato & Associates License #: PI-21063 Scott Pettinato's firm has been incredible, very professional, and just plain nice in finding my owed funds from the state. When I learned that money was owed to me on an unpaid med-legal evaluation I did a few years back, I was skeptical. I asked a respected attorney I know if the offer by Pettinato to recover my payment was trustworthy and the research showed a resounding yes. When the process became a little complicated, Scott Pettinato became personally involved and made sure the State of California paid me what they'd owed me for years! So if you hear from Pettinato and Associates that money is owed you, you can trust them to get it for you.

I got an letter from Pettinato & Associates offering their services on Unclaimed Assets owed me. I provided Pettinato with the documentation checklist info. To my delight (and surprise) six months later I got check from the State of California. Pettinato lived up to its word! I would use them again.

After researching Pettinato & Associates, including talking to them on the phone and via email (I am a US citizen now residing in Australia), I decided to move forward with their service. Throughout the process I was provided updates and recently, I received exactly what they said I would get - mailed to me in Australia. I highly recommend this company and you do not need to be concerned with sharing personal information as they are professional and trustworthy.

First things first, Scott and his team are experts at what they do. They get results! Scott contacted me regarding an unclaimed property report. I had received several of these solicitations from different firms but something told me to contact Scott. I had tried to reclaim my property with no luck. (a waste of my time.) Scott knows how and whom to contact to get results. He is very well connected. He was also VERY good at keeping me in the loop and promptly returning calls and emails. If you are dealing with with an Unclaimed Property claim use Scott. His fee is reasonable and he gets it done. 5 stars for sure!

My daughter filled out the paperwork - twice! Had it notarized - twice! Never received a check, and was eventually told that a check was sent and cashed. But not sent to her nor cashed by her!!

I personaly do not recommend this private investigative service to anyone looking to find their lost assests from the state of California.. This company put me through a traumatic experience by telling me my funds were coming and that I would be able to pay off my school debt. The money never came to me. They assured me it was fast tracked and the funds would be expedited to me before May 2025, this also ended up being a lie. I would not recommend these people to protect your assest they are only concerned about funding themselves. Thank you Lauralee I would like to add, on April 23rd 2025 I recieved an email from this firm. It read, " the value of the expedited claim number 10228828 which I was told by Pettinato and Associates is worth $3,266. I was excited to be told I would recieve this money to pay off my college debt. However it was $477. Is what it really was which put me in shock considering I told this firm that my debt was $1,700. They assured me that I would get the $3,266. In plenty of time before I graduate in May of 2025 to pay off the $1,700 it wasnt even half of what i owed..lolol jokes on me! Moreover, unfortunantly I am still waiting for my money, which is still not mine and my debt is still sitting there at SDSU which Mr. Sott Pettinato seems to know so much about? What goes at where I attend school? .. I am working on it now to get it paid off. Thanks to Pettinato and Associates I had to go on a leave of absence for a year until I get it paid off which held me up going into graduate school. I don't understand the value add of using this company for my unclaimed property. I only received a letter from Pettinato & Associates *after* I had already begun the claim process myself directly with the state. My claim is not complicated--why would I pay someone else 10% to still have me provide the same info I submitted directly? I saw another review saying the person got their claim in 6 months using this company, but that is the state's noted processing time anyway. I really don't get it. Edit to add: I actually received my check from the state *before* the 6 month timeline, without paying 10% to this company.
